As I'm avoiding doing any of the useful stuff I should be doing I thought I'd just pop another sidecar up x

@kaylsd glad to hear your booking app went well, is it usually quite easy and plain sailing to request your care is moved to another trust? I think from memory you're not far from me as we were talking about the IVF clinic you were going to use.

@Vil10 argggh gutted for you in the house, it's so relentless at the moment. One more sleep until your scan 😊

@Minster2012 urgh neighbour taking up that much of my time would annoy me too but at least he's hopefully on side now! Do you plan on starting ASAP, permission pending?

@blackcurrantqueen so glad to hear your positive experience, congratulations 🥳 good news on day 3 milk! Hope the 💩 came in too

@Vil10 @becarefuloutthere love a nandos! We have one a couple of miles away and sometimes get delivery as DD loves it too. Pitta for me too 😋

@Crazydoglady123 your bump is just 😍 you look amazing lady! Hope she's now on her way after your sweep

@paintfairy stupid wardrobe fitter, you'd have thought he'd had told you this! Happy belated birthday 🥳

@Lexber good news on the scan, that sounds more uncomfortable though one being down and the other not as if they're taking up more room 😆 so nice you took your dad with you!

@DKDK123 no ideal as itll take up a lot of your time I'm sure but better they're keeping a close eye on you both

@larrythelizard thinking of you today ❤️ I'm glad you got a scan relatively early but I'm sure everything will be good

Day off today childless which is alien to me! We have some furniture being delivered and some bits to do in the nursery 😬

Kate105 · 21/01/2022 08:44

I harvested loads of colostrum @Haiyaa then left it all in the freezer, forgot all about it and ended up chucking it out 😂🙈

Happy belated birthday @paintfairy but sorry about your wardrobes!

We had a slightly better night last night bar a big party between 2 and 4am. What to do when you want to suck boob all night but don't want to actually have any milk come out and you definitely won't suck on that plastic dummy shit your mother keeps offering instead?! Asking for a friend... I have joined the sleep regression board 😂

Also, sleep drunk must be a thing. Turns out I'm ordering shit in the middle of the night that I don't remember the next day... Night before last apparently I ordered a sleep training book 😂😂😂 but wasn't too drunk to make sure I bought the cheap second hand one at 87p, not a full price new one. Good to know drunk me is still a tight arse!

paintfairy · 21/01/2022 08:59

@Juno231 🤣 no you aren't. I thought we were just having sliding doors across the full length of the wall. This is what we had before (not sliding though). But inside was a DIY type affair. Which did work. I thought we were doing the same thing. You can buy your own rails and internal shelves etc from IKEA or wherever. But now he's doing it not like I thought so I'm really not sure what the hell is going to happen. What I do know is I might harm DH sometime soon......
@Lexber I honestly think they'd have to pull my pants down very low for my bush to show! 🤣 And it's not trimmed. I think people have varying levels of Bush so possibly its hard for some of us to comprehend. 🤭
@Kirky658 ah that's useful to know, thanks. It makes me feel less worried!
@SWAttempting is that something they usually check? Who knew. I'm also confused what the picture is of? And I'll be 14 weeks on Sunday! So really close due dates!
@juno231 dreams are all part of the fun! Not long now though until you'll know. I think I'll end up finding out too, its killing me already. 🤣
@Crazydoglady123 wow what a rollercoaster. But yeah I didn't think they let your waters be broken for too long either?
@becarefuloutthere thanks! Yay to more time, you definitely need to rest a bit.
@larrythelizard I had some weird pulls and cramps last week that lated for about 3 days. So try not to panic. It does happen.
@bez91 yes you'd think! Also it now appears out needs to stick out more than the other one did and it was tight to walk round the bed before! 🤦‍♀️ Which is also something that should have been checked! I just assumed it would be in the same place (he did see it all prior to us ripping it out, we've used him before. Plus he came round to look to quote).
@Kate105 its like Christmas when these surprise gifts turn up! 🤣

Meal out last night was lovely. We'd never been before, and it was a bit of a drive, but it was really small and intimate. And really decent food. I let the side down and had steak (my go to) so now I'm going to have to go back to try something else! 🤣 Had brownie for dessert. 😁

Minster2012 · 21/01/2022 09:01

@larrythelizard I've got a stitch like feeling mid & left today, so I'm hoping it's definitely your little one snuggling around in there

@bez91 a day off childless wooooo!! I'm currently snuggled with a cockapoo whilst watching the apprentice before I do some work. In theory we'd like to start asap after planning permission but we can't get full quotes from builders until we get structural drawings & most ppl don't get those til after planning...one builder we are talking to said he couldn't start til 2023, another said he could in theory start April onwards so we are aiming for you, know, exactly when the baby arrives 😂🤣👍

@Vil10 @becarefuloutthere @bez91 I've only ever had a Nando's 3 times! Do love a pitta though

@Kate105 loving the fact you bought the 87p one, let's hope that doesn't mean it doesn't work 😬😬😬do you use white noise? I can remember well the regressions and we used a programme from day called Little Ones 🤞🏻

SWAttempting · 21/01/2022 09:03

@paintfairy Not something they'd check usually. But I've had cervical cancer in 2018 with an op and targeted radiotherapy and had a previous premature baby!

One or the other would cause them to check cervical length - I'm just one of those unlucky sods who ticks both boxes 😂

paintfairy · 21/01/2022 09:07

@SWAttempting ah is that what they mean by length? I actually didn't know as she was talking to me about that the other day! Makes more sense. I thought she meant like, I don't even know, 🤣 but I couldn't really work out why that matters. But I see what you mean. They'll check mine actually, that'll be a delight. Appointment in 3 weeks.....

DKDK123 · 21/01/2022 09:10

@lexber how sweet having your Dad at the scan, he sounds like one proud Granda 🥰

@Crazydoglady123 gutting that you had to leave DS after only an hour but glad to hear all is still OK and you got home in the end, treasure every min of those long overdue cuddles!

@Juno231 pregnancy dreams can be crazy, at least its related to something thats actually going through your head just now, how long now till your actual reasults come through?
Ive had the same bizaree dream the past two nights in a row, where a guy I haven't seen since primary school was running through the street screaming for help, he stopped infront of me and was dragged into a car by a gang of people, he was pleading with me to help him and I said I can't I'm pregnant I can't risk the baby but I'll go get help then I woke up both times without knowing the outcome 🤯 Now really have the urge to track this guy down to find out if he's genuinely OK in real life, but would seem like a crazy person "Hi, I haven't saw you since primary school but had a dream you were kidnapped and I refused to help you so just wanted to check you were alright 🤣

@larrythelizard glad you've managed to get a scan booked for today as I know no amount of us saying you can't jinx it or not to worry will help, it's all that'll be on your mind right now. Here with a hand hold.

@bez91 hooray for a child free day, you should use the time to rest but if you're anything like me you end trying to make the most of the rare opportunities to get everything done that you can't do with a child around. Try take at least half an hour for yourself just to relish in the silence.

@Kate105 I used to love the amazon deliveries arriving that I had no recollection of ordering during the night, it was like a secret surprise to me from me 😂

I was so hormonal last night (well 3am to be exact), bawling my eyes out but trying to do it quietly so I didnt waken up DH or DS so was just sitting in the dark doing big ugly silent sobbing 🙈 And it was only because I realised I was within touching distance of 24 weeks and that's the next goal I so badly want to reach as I know (heaven forbid) anything happens to Emily after then at least she'll be acknowledged as a real baby who was stillborn whereas if anything happens in the next 2 weeks she'd just go down on my medical file as 'miscarriage number 9 of aate fetus' and that was heartbreaking that you can get this far along, see a real formed baby on scans, watch it waving, feel the kicks and yet it's still not acknowledged as a real baby that's died if anything were to happen at this stage. So I flitted between being devastatingly upset and hormally raged for the fact the little lives aren't acknowledged until 24 weeks. I was all up for writing my rage to someone in the middle of the night but didn't know who to direct it to, the government or health board, who makes these decisions?.......then managed to get an hours sleep and woke up too tired to rage against the system 😂

SWAttempting · 21/01/2022 09:10

@paintfairy Hahaha! Always ask if you don't understand otherwise you google and think death is impending 😂

Yeah so is the length of your cervix. It'll get shorter throughout pregnancy. Mine is now 27mm at 25mm they will put a stitch in to prevent a pre-term birth (even though they've booked in a pre-term c section for medical reasons but that's a whole other story 🤣)

My cervix was 34mm with my son at 15 weeks!
I was 27mm at 13+4

With my son...
By 19 weeks I was 33mm so drop of 1mm
By 23 weeks I was 27mm so drop of 7mm

Hello stitch! 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

Kirky658 · 21/01/2022 09:14

For those of you not on my insta, here's my little lady... So grown up!!!

Minsters Sidecar Bumping Along - ttc graduates thread 5
Sunbird24 · 21/01/2022 09:19

Oh @Kirky658 those cheeks! 🥰

Vil10 · 21/01/2022 09:53

@Crazydoglady123 Thankyou lovely!! I feel a lot better today and I am too a believer in everything happens for a reason! Glad to hear you're out of hospital and got cuddles with your DS!! I bet the bleeding was a little scary but seems like they have it under control!!

@DKDK123 will they tell you the baby is okay before they start checking everything? Because I don't think I can lie there for ages without them saying anything, especially because the 2 early scans I've had there's been big screens right in front of me so I could see baby straight away!! I was thinking this the other day, I can't believe how much it'll look like an actual baby since my last scan 2 weeks ago, I keep thinking surely it won't look like that!! Its mind blowing how quickly they grow!!

@paintfairy oh god that sounds stressful and not a setback you need right at the start, but hopefully it'll all figure itself out🤞🏼 glad you had a nice meal! I'd kill for a steak but always have it medium rare/more rare so we've decided our first date night after baby we'll go to an amazing steak restaurant called Gaucho, you might have one near you, I know they have them in some cities! Those results are definitely nothing to worry about, good thst you got them back so quick too!!

@Lexber so glad to hear the babies are doing well and so so cute on your dad being there!! I bet it was amazing for him! My dad teared up when I told him I was pregnant and this will be his first grandchild so maybe I take him to one in the near future!

@Juno231 your mind is playing with you😂 do you have a preference?

@bez91 it really is but I'm confident the right one will come up soon! Ahhh I know, just want today to be over with already!! Ooo a childless day wooo!

@Minster2012 snuggled up with pups sounds perfect for a Friday morning!!

@DKDK123 im half laughing and half feeling for you, laughing at your last bit of thinking who to contact about it but it is awful that they can be real life babies and not even counted as one, but Emily WILL be okay, keep positive lovely❤️

@larrythelizard glad you managed to get a scan for today, try not to worry lovely, remember when you said you had some pains before your early scan and everything turned out to be okay!! Also on the sickness disappearing, my symptoms have eased a lot as well, I haven't had much wretching and hardly any nausea all week, so let's just hope it's our bodies getting used to those hormones!!

Vil10 · 21/01/2022 09:53

@Kirky658 she's beautiful!!

DKDK123 · 21/01/2022 09:54

@Kirky658 she's gorgeous 😍

DKDK123 · 21/01/2022 10:00

@Vil10 I tend to say to them before I even lie on the bed, can you tell me there's a heartbeat first. But then I was lucky that 3 of my scans I had the same woman who knew my history so didn't have to explain she just told me straight up there's the heartbeat you can relax now. One of my scans with someone else felt like forever before she put my mind at ease, she wanted baby to move into a certain position so began jiggling my belly to get baby to move but didnt explain why she was doing that and i though it was because she couldnt detect a heartbeat and was nearly hyperventiliating on the table! So if you're feeling at all worried don't be afraid to say to them before you begin to tell you right away all is ok to put you at ease.

Haiyaa · 21/01/2022 12:36

Oh my word what a gorgeous little madam @Kirky658! Time is flying, she’s getting so big!

Hand hold for you @larrythelizard and hope the scan is all good. Great you were able to get one so quickly, those negative thoughts can be all consuming.

So funny @Juno231, when will you find out the sex? I’ve had dreams where we have a girl but I keep thinking it is a boy (wishful thinking as I already have DD, would be happy either way though as girls kick ass!).

I’m 37 weeks today, pre op and steroids next week @Minster2012 then section the following Tuesday all things being well. Just hoping I don’t go into labour before then at the weekend or middle of the night as don’t want it to be an emergency and get cut open by some registrar!

Awwww @DKDK123, that sounds so tough. Try to remember that the odds are in your favour and make sure you talk to your medical team for any niggles no matter how small. I’m not sure how you managed the silent crying, I tend to just go full meltdown especially when pregnant so no chance of DH sleeping through it! Have you spoken to your DH about how you are feeling?

Hope you enjoyed your cuddles @Crazydoglady123 and that next time you are in the hospital you come out with DD!

blackcurrantqueen · 21/01/2022 12:44

@larrythelizard thinking of you 💕hope all ok xx

whatwonder · 21/01/2022 12:52

wow lots to catch up on!

@Kirky658 she is gorgeous. hope the therapy is going well, sorry to hear you're having a tough time. Is the one you mentioned the eye movement one?

@Lexber that is so sweet that your dad got to go with you, something he will treasure forever I'm sure. and joookes that DH helped prepared your bush for the occasion, if that's not true love I don't know what is!

speaking of bush maintenance- what experience has everyone had with waxing in pregnancy? particularly towards the end?

@paintfairy happy belated birthday, glad you got to enjoy a nice meal out! and those test results are really good I'd say. I had a similar number to @clolo (around 1:600) and have to say I had a bit of a panic about it because it was higher odds than I expected, but have been told by quite a few people that it's low risk and should stop worrying (as always, easier said than done!)

@Vil10 so sorry about the house, what a bummer. But as Minster says, maybe the other buyers will drop out and then the seller will come back to you! and totally know how you feel with the scanxiety, I know how hard that can be. Second the advice of asking about the heartbeat straightaway

@larrythelizard hoping everything goes well at the scan today, echoing what others have said that it does sound like normal growing/stretching pains.

@Minster2012 when are you going in for your 3D/Lasagne scan?

@Crazydoglady123 wait they broke your waters during your membrane sweep?? I also thought they put you on a timer after your waters had broken?

@DKDK123 oh love that sounds like a really rough night/morning (the sleep deprivation doesn't help I'm sure) but the odds are in your favour and it seems like you and your medical team are doing everything they can to make sure little Emily gets here safe and sound!

@Haiyaa why are they giving you steroids at 37 weeks? Sorry if you've already explained that, I must have missed it

@Kate105 sending you strength during the sleep regression/"developmental leaps" phase. Do more hand offs to DH I reckon!

@bez91 enjoy your childless day!

Whooping cough jab question - I think here it's only recommended for the mother/birthing person to get the jab but I know other countries recommend the Dad/2nd parent to also get one. What have other people done here?

Haiyaa · 21/01/2022 13:01

@whatwonder, it is because I will be having a section before 39 weeks. If you have a vaginal birth it isn’t really an issue if you deliver when I will (38+4) as baby gets a good squeeze through the birth canal which gets rid of mucus but with the section they need a bit of help for their lungs.

Whooping cough just for mum, as the benefit isn’t really for you - the immunity gets passed to the baby and helps them out in the first few weeks until they get stronger immune systems.

whatwonder · 21/01/2022 13:07

@Haiyaa ah yes that make sense re vaginal vs section delivery. sorry you had to endure that, I have heard they are pretty unpleasant to say the least!

interesting with the whooping cough. In Australia and New Zealand, they recommend you get it from 28 weeks onwards (to have more chance of it being pass onto baby) but then also recommend that dads and/or anyone who's going to have regular close contact with the baby (i.e. if your mum is going to be helping look after the baby) to get it as well.

larrythelizard · 21/01/2022 13:42

Thanks all for the hand holds, all fine, obviously just things stretching out. Baby performed well and gave us a little wave which was a bit nuts but pleased I went and got the reassurance. Also googled and placenta's take over anywhere from 8-12 weeks, most commonly at 10 weeks so I'm bang on that in terms of the sickness subsiding.

Right now to catch up properly...

That's so cute @Lexber 😍

Sounds a lovely birthday despite the wardrobe and the bin drama @paintfairy!

I LOVE Gaucho @Vil10 although not been for years, DH and I went years and years ago and a relatively early date

@SWAttempting good that they are keeping close tabs on you and your cervix!

Really pleased you got cuddles with your big boy @Crazydoglady123

I hope you're off out for lunch or something as well as chores @bez91 - you must be owed some sort of belated birthday celebrations?

Day 3 milk is the dream @blackcurrantqueen 🎉🎉🎉

Sleep drunk deffo a thing @Kate105, at least you're ordering sensible things!

The terminology is so clinical and unfair @DKDK123 - a loss is a loss no matter how far along. I really do think the fact they're preparing for a risky outcome should give you hope and comfort. I certainly believe Emily's stopping in there for quite a while yet.

Puppy cuddles sound perfect @Minster2012

Exciting times @Haiyaa, nearly there!

@whatwonder i don't know how prevalent whooping cough is in the UK, I was keen on having it with DS as he'd then have some immunity to it when born. Maybe that's a question you could ask?

OP posts:
bez91 · 21/01/2022 14:11

Fantastic news @larrythelizard super pleased! This is your time ❤️
No such lunch out, delivery doesn't have a time just that there's so many people before me which isn't helpful as they could all be a mile away or 50 miles away, DH has made me a toastie 😆

@whatwonder ah that's interesting on whooping cough for partners. I was always told by my MW it more to protect baby after birth so didn't think partner having it would make a difference as it's to build up the babies immunity but there must be some evidence if other countries give it

Juno231 · 21/01/2022 14:20

@whatwonder I do find it interesting cause I know eg in the states they recommend anyone in contact with the baby in the first few months (grandparents, aunts and uncles etc) should have the TDAP jab and that includes whooping cough. People are militant about it there (including making sure visitors have all had the flu jab!) but in the UK it's pretty laissez-faire... Not sure if there's a happy in between?

@larrythelizard hope all went well at lunch

@vil10 and to anyone else who asked - yes my preference is a girl but I think the upsetness in my dream was more that I was told it would be one thing only for the rug to be swept from under my feet in the next dream 😅

Per my last scan I'm 11 weeks today - per conception it's 11 on Monday. Can't wait for the dating scan so I can just settle on one date 😅. I don't think I mentioned it on here but at my midwife appointment they calculated edd as 17th August and then amended it to 13th after asking me what my 8 week private scan had dated me as. Didn't think they'd take that into account at all!

Minster2012 · 21/01/2022 14:26

Just a quick drop in

Oh wow @larrythelizard that's so good, knew it!! Great to know though

@Juno231 that's the first time I've heard of it being Amended but it's good!

@whatwonder lasagne scan on sat 5th so still a while

I'm having my whooping cough on 1st feb so quite late, that's only cos it was cancelled this week & im combining it with taking X for his preschool jabs so I don't have to go twice

larrythelizard · 21/01/2022 14:38

My midwife has written it down as per LMP @Juno231 but says she expects it to move (she doesn't really care at this point). Lunchtime all OK, measuring the same as last time/as per my ovulation so bang on where I should be which is lovely to know.

OP posts:
Juno231 · 21/01/2022 15:13

@larrythelizard sorry I had completely missed your update somehow! So pleased it went well and that you got that peace of mind, but also not surprised - all sounding very normal
so far ❤️

@Minster2012 oh I can remember the 5th then as it's the day after my scan!
