As I'm avoiding doing any of the useful stuff I should be doing I thought I'd just pop another sidecar up x

@paintfairy I think IVF contributes to the risk odds along with NT measurement, age, bloods. I think they also asked if I was a smoker. For 38 I'd be very happy with those odds. Also if it helps, my cousin had high risks (odds in the teens) for both his children and neither have any genetic problems so even high risks don't mean bad news!

kaylsd · 19/01/2022 14:36

@Juno231 unsure when 12 week scan will be, sent off referral today to the trust I want to be under than the presumed one then will receive letters in post :) hopefully your results are not too far away then!
@kirky658 sending lots of love to you hunny always here if you need anything xx
@becarefuloutthere ah right least you won’t have to worry about the commute life, I’d love the chance to work at home 🙈
@larrythelizard aslong as your comfy and happy it doesn’t matter what the scales say I think! Glad to hear your appointment went well with them bleeding you dry 🤣 I had my flu jab in December :)
@minster2012 you will love afterlife! Even though prior to it I wasn’t keen on Ricky as a comedian but I really enjoyed him in the series! Deffo one for your watch list :)
@paintfairy I’m unsure on the results but to me that seems low risk? Hopefully the girls have reassured you with the rest on here ❤️
@vil10 the estate agents are deffo pulling their weight!!! Let’s hope you’ve heard something by now?
@bez91 thank you lovely hope your well!

I had my booking appointment and that midwife is lovely! They have a system that she does continuity care which sounds similar to @juno231 but in Yorkshire? So she has a caseload of women and sees them through and if she’s on shift or on call when they labour she will go in and care for them, very sweet! My original midwife is on sick leave so I’m hoping I can stay with the one today 🤞🏻 all booked in on electronic notes which surprised me as I imagined having paper notes 🙈 but as I’m being awkward as I don’t want to give birth at my GPS associated trust the referal has been sent to the hospital I want to be under & work under so convenient for appointments just don’t feel like it’s real yet as I’ve still not had any bloods taken yet or know my 12 week scan date as they do them all on the day and the letters will follow in the post 🙈

becarefuloutthere · 19/01/2022 15:49

@Vil10 aw thank you 😊 had a Nando's for lunch 😋 hope you've heard from the estate agents now?
@Minster2012 haha dressed and annoyed is more usual state tbf 😆 did you sweep your leaves?? Well according to google they can, will be checking with my MW next week!
@bez91 id agree! Let's hope there are no project calls 🤭
@paintfairy you've nailed it in one I'd say!
Ah ok, I'd agree, defo not a bad thing to have extra scans and checks in place xx
Ooh your bday tomorrow! What's the plans?
@kaylsd yeah I do enjoy wfh 👩🏾‍💻 on the whole! Hope you get your appointment dates soon 🤞🏾

paintfairy · 19/01/2022 17:09

@2020mission does it? She never mentioned that. But if ivf adds to risk then I'm surprised it's a good as it is! 🙈🤣
@becarefuloutthere I haven't had nandos for like 10 years or more! I can't even remember what it's like! Must go as we now have a new one down the road!
Erm, well the joiner is coming to fit new wardrobes. 🙈🤣 So that will be peaceful. Not. He was meant to start today but now it's tomorrow. And we are going for a meal tomorrow night at a little restaurant we've never tried before. That's it really! Nothing exciting. And the weekend will be trying to find wallpaper and painting skirting board! Oh how my life is fun. 🤣
@kaylsd yes you are probably right! Your appointment sounds positive! That's great.

Kate105 · 19/01/2022 17:44

Funny @Kirky658 I was just wondering how you were getting on. Sorry you've had a rough ride but hope you're on the up again.

The suspense is killing me @Vil10 no idea how you're coping when this is your actual real life 😂

I have deliberately never bought myself a onesie @Minster2012 because I know it'll be a one way street and I'll never take it off ever again (slattern)

Bed dread is ahoy (I learned the term off the sleep board lol). Pass me the Calpol!

Vil10 · 19/01/2022 18:32

Well the owners went with someone else after apparently going back and forth between us and them, so I'm really gutted, I really thought this would be it, I'm trying not to get wound up and stressed but it's so infuriating!! And the house that my friends dad has been renovating and said we could go and look at before he puts it up for sale, he had it valued and it's 70k over what he estimated it so it's out of our budget🙄 I really wanted to cry today but instead I bought a bag of giant pickled onion monster munch and put away half a packet of chocolate hob knobs, comfort eating at its finest!

@kaylsd glad your booking appointment went well!! And hopefully she'll be your midwife throughout too!!

@becarefuloutthere I only said to OH last night I'd love a nandos! What's your go to order?

@paintfairy from what @2020mission has said it definitely seems like you got a good result! What bloods is it that they even test?

Kirky658 · 19/01/2022 19:15

@vil10 oh I'm sorry about the house lovely. That sucks x

Minster2012 · 19/01/2022 21:08

Noooooo @Vil10 😭😭😭😭😭let's hope the other buyers fall through.

@paintfairy to be fair my life is that thrilling too but the nest should be good?

@Kate105 my onesie is actually a kids one that ppl soon worked out that adults could fit in, and often Xander & I are slatterns together not getting dressed before lunch in our matching onesies 🤪

@kaylsd that sounds fantastic! Boooooom

@paintfairy Another one in the more scans club & it's def no bad thing!!

@becarefuloutthere I swept some leaves definitely, which is better than sitting in front of the laptop all day. But then was rudely interrupted by our neighbour asking about the planning notice that has inconspicuously been put on our front gate today highlighting our planning application. An hour and a half later showing him our plans he's fine which is good, no objection there. However that was my precious bath time after leaves lost before picking up X. Humph

blackcurrantqueen · 19/01/2022 22:17

Evening all!

@Vil10 sorry about the house, that is crap, the right one for you must surely be on its way soon 😢

@kaylsd glad your booking appt went well and I hope they don't keep you waiting too long for your scan date!

@paintfairy I'd have said that risk was nowhere near anything to worry about! X

@Kirky658 glad you are doing ok, keep going, Alice is thriving and that's all down to you Mama!!

@larrythelizard @Juno231 yes I'm an advocate for all the jabs but the whooping cough is very important as it passes immunity onto the baby and they can be very sick with whooping cough so this is vital!

Excited to find out the sex @Juno231 !!! I think I'm going boy for you! Glad the scan was all good too!

@Kate105 I go by the theory if the calpol helps then it is required.. so if it's making him sleep better there is clearly pain!! 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

@Crazydoglady123 hope you are doing okay! Has our little lady decided to make her appearance yet? 😂🥰

@Sunbird24 been thinking of you, glad they are doing further investigations for you, hope something comes up that gives you some answers xx

@becarefuloutthere I hope your last day in the office went ok! Now enjoy the rest and relaxation before the real fun begins... 😂
I got some oil for perineum massage with DD but honestly it's so awkward and I can't think of anything worse than OH doing it so I never bothered really!

Thank you so so much for all your well wishes!
She's absolutely gorgeous - and the spitting image of her sister!
She kept us up all night last night cluster feeding - even with bottles she was going through them sooo fast!
I am really sore, it took a while longer than planned because I had lots of internal adhesions from my previous section, so I'm trying to keep dosed up and taking it easy - easier said than done!
Attempting a bit of breastfeeding but with like 30H boobs bigger than babies head it is so stressful and I'm not that far off sacking it off completely!

The entire experience was honestly lovely, the staff in theatre were amazing and the majority of the midwives were so lovely and helpful! They're just so so short staffed!

Still haven't been for a poo so slightly terrified about how on earth that is going to go down. Had some Chinese and champagne this evening which was bloody lovely!

becarefuloutthere · 19/01/2022 22:32

@paintfairy you really must, I love it 😋
A meal at a new restaurant sounds nice 😊 tbf I love getting stuff for decorating but not the actual doing part. Luckily bil is a painter decorator so he's been doing the nursery! I hope you a wonderful day/night xx
@Vil10 always the pitta, the Fino pitta is back so I had that medium with chips and coleslaw yum yum 😋 ah so sorry about the house mate, it's so cutthroat out there!!
@Minster2012 wow, bit annoying of your neighbour to keep you that long!! You were very polite to entertain him for that long, I would've been tempted to tell him to come bk another time. I'm glad he was ok tho!
@blackcurrantqueen yeah went fine thanks but I'm not on leave yet. Still have two more weeks of wfh and then it starts! Thanks for your experiences on the massage front, I won't get the oil but I may have a go with the lube!
Ah nice to hear all is going well and you were looked after! Hope you get your 💩 out soon! I'm sure the Chinese n champers will shimmy it along 👍🏾

DKDK123 · 20/01/2022 05:07

A bit late to the party but massive congratulations @blackcurrantqueen! Glad to hear all is well and you're home enjoying your little lady 💕

@Kate105 waiting for the call from SS for doing something you feel guilty about is like a motherhood passage of rite 🤣 Don't worry they've not called me yet and DS has reached 4 with lots of 'oh shit I'm the worst mother ever episodes'. I do think it's a cruel trick of nature that they let babies fingernails grow so bloody fast and long when they're so teeny, wriggly and hard to cut!
And don't worry about the calpol, DS practically lived on it for 2 years when he had recurrent ear infections. I was worried about the amount he was taking in his system but the doc said as long as you don't go over the daily dose and spread it out as advised it doesn't build up in their system so doesn't do long term damage and is fine to give daily if need be (neurofen isn't as kind tho).

@Juno231 glad to hear all went well with the scan

@Sunbird24 I hope the tests do reveal something so that they can put things in place for next time. Thinking of you 💕

@larrythelizard obviously weigh up all your pros and cons before making a decision but just to give you the heads up that I caught flu in June one year! 🙈 I didnt think you could get it that late on! I usually get my flu jab anyways as I'm asthmatic but it was literally the only year I didnt get my jag as I'd broken my leg when they were giving them out then thought we were out of flu season so didn't bother chasing it up later. I ended up hospitalised and literally thought I was dying it was that bad. Took me nearly 6 weeks to get back to normal health again so I'll never be missing my flu jag again, I've learned my lesson! Obviously mine may have been more severe due to my asthma but just wanted to point out the fact I did manage to catch it way beyond flu season so just to factor that in when weighing up your decision that it can happen year round.
Ours do the whopping cough one at the 20week scan, maybe it's to ensure more people get it as everyone's going to turn up for their scan (tho you can still refuse it if you wish).

@Kirky658 can't believe Alice is 5months now, where has the time gone! Glad to hear she's doing well and hopefully things will be on the up again for you now your support network are all out of isolation 😊

@paintfairy I wouldnt worry about those odds, mine were 1 in 83 I think it was (im 37)! But after the further tests they came back low and she said most people who do get high on the first tests do end up getting low on the further ones so I wouldnt worry if yours were low to start with.

@vil10 absolutely gutted for you on the house front 😢 I was getting so excited for you while catching up there till I read that latest update. You deserved the whole packet of hob knobs last night, not just half!

Had a midwife appointment earlier this week and despite everything going perfectly well they're starting to get into panic stations already as we're not far off where it all started to go downhill last time. So now from 28 weeks instead of the 2-3weekly appointments we'd first planned out, they're wanting to see me EVERY week alternating weeks between the consultant and midwife 🤦‍♀️ Going to be so sick of the sight of medical professionals by the time baby's here, it's slight overkill in my eyes but I suppose at least they're on the ball and looking after me. Tho I feel like I'm the only one being calm at the minute when it should be the other way round 😂 Even DH who's usually so calm admitted he's scared. He said if he'd known just how high risk it was and just how much blood I'd lost last time he wouldn't have let us try for another baby. (So I'm bloody glad he didn't know! 😂).
Absolutely done in at work already, far too early to start mat leave but I don't think I'll be pushing it to as close to the end as I thought I'd be able to make it, feel like I'm just limping through to the end of every day at work now and collapsing on the couch as soon as I get home letting DS destroy the house or veg away with a gazillion hours of screen time to keep him sitting in one place.

Kirky658 · 20/01/2022 06:33

@blackcurrantqueen congrats ❤️❤️❤️ for the poo, ask for some Lactulose and try and get plenty of orange juice down you. And put a little stool or step under your feet to keep them higher - helps with the straining. It's not as bad as you think I promise x

larrythelizard · 20/01/2022 07:54

Oh no gutted @Vil10. It might fall through or there might be something better, you'll be in such a good position as a buyer once you complete on yours.

Annoying missing bath time @Minster2012 but at least you know neighbour won't object to plans so probs worth it longer term

I wonder if my giant boobs were one of the problems I had problems with BF @blackcurrantqueen - to quote a cliche 'fed is best'...! Sounds like she's doing all the things she should which is fab. Would some support pants/leggings help with the pain, sort of hold you together? I was numb after my EMCS for about a week so after birth poo not a problem 😬

Happy Birthday @paintfairy!

Interesting on the flu @DKDK123 - I had proper flu once years ago and fully aware how nasty it can be. Might go and get it then. A bit annoying with the medics but great they're taking such good care of you and Emily.

I've had a bit of a sore stomach all night, nothing major but just a bit uncomfortable which has obviously set off my brain. Trying to decide whether to call the EPU/book a private scan or try not to worry about it as things are all stretching in there. My first pregnancy ended in an early MMC and all my symptoms continued right until the D&C 2.5 weeks after they scanned me for the first time so I don't necessarily believe that symptoms = good. Humph.

Crazydoglady123 · 20/01/2022 08:33

@Kirky658 you're doing amazing! Stay strong

@larrythelizard I was the same about pre pregnancy weight. I put so much on with the letrozole and clomid pre ivf. Pregnancy after loss is so hard...if it helps settle you then deffo push for a scan.

@Minster2012 @larrythelizard the car birth risk has passed, am now allowed to the MLU less than half a mile from me 😅

@kaylsd I've had the same midwife the whole way through. We always move my appointments if she's on annual leave and she doesn't want to miss the birth for anything whether she's on shift or not. It's so nice to have midwife's like that.

@DKDK123 oh wow that's a lot of appointments!!!

@blackcurrantqueen glad to hear you're doing well! Chinese and champagne sounds amazing! No sign of madam but...

40 weeks today and freedom day post covid 🥳 Getting my nails sorted this morning then my midwife appointment at lunchtime and then get my son from school at last!! The OH has changed work around to look after him too while I go for my rescheduled growth scan later too. It's been 2 weeks since I've seen my DS...can't wait till 3pm (getting emosh just thinking about it)

Crazydoglady123 · 20/01/2022 08:34

Happy Birthday too @paintfairy 🥳❤️

Minster2012 · 20/01/2022 08:40

Oh @Crazydoglady123 I'm so happy you are free, not giving birth in a footwell AND seeing DS at 3pm 🥳🥳🥳

@paintfairy happy birthday 🎂 have a fantastic meal tonight

@larrythelizard if I were worried like you I'd book a scan, call EPU first but my epu wont scan after you've had one (ruling out ectopic) unless you've got bleeding I'm afraid, so maybe a scan? However I'm a firm believer in it's snuggling in

@blackcurrantqueen Chinese & champagne is the baby head whetting of champions! Not pooing though is not ideal 😬

Minster2012 · 20/01/2022 09:08

And @Lexber good luck with your scan today!

Kate105 · 20/01/2022 09:15

Oh that's so reassuring to hear, thanks @DKDK123 !

I'm gutted for you @Vil10 but you'll get there, the right one will come along soon!

Yay congrats @blackcurrantqueen hope you've had your poo 😂 although beware if they make you take iron tablets after your section, that shafted me sooooo bad...

Cracking day for you @Crazydoglady123 enjoy!

Can you die of tiredness twice? THE CALPOL STOPPED WORKING and we comfort sucked at half hourly intervals from midnight to 5am when H heard my sobs and hoiked TSD downstairs. I'm so bitter about H sleeping (he's back in the spare room) but also very glad of him removing TSD... a lot of emotions today 😂🙈

Juno231 · 20/01/2022 09:17

@Crazydoglady123 yay for COVID freedom and seeing DS! Can't believe you're 40 weeks already 😅

@Kirky658 5 months 😭 where does the time go??

@Kate105 how did last night go? Thanks for teaching us about bed dread 😅

@paintfairy happy birthday!! Enjoy your dinner out and I hope the wardrobe dude doesn't ditch you again

@vil10 boo let's hope the other buyers fall through!

@blackcurrantqueen haha i did laugh seeing what an epic boob pillow DD2 had in your delivery pics! And champagne... I'm so putting that on the list of things to drink in August

Haiyaa · 20/01/2022 09:43

Happy freedom day @Crazydoglady123! Enjoy cuddling DS, you must be climbing the walls to get your hands on him by now! Will you get a sweep at your appointment?

How far along are you now @larrythelizard? I’ve had various pains this time around, midwife said it is often worse for subsequent pregnancies as your muscles are already fucked from the first one - but if you are worried then better to be safe than sorry, perhaps a chat to the midwife would help?

Lol at giant boobs @blackcurrantqueen, I’ve just tried one of my new nursing bras on and it is already a squeeze so not holding out much hope for them lasting more than 5 minutes and that is only a D 😂 I’d forgotten first post section poo, the thought gives me the horrors although not so much the pain but rather the feeling that your insides are falling out and the MESS trying to manoeuvre yourself dealing with 💩 and lochia! Sorry if TMI but I know you ladies are used to it and better to be prepared right? To be honest I think it must be almost as bad following a vaginal birth especially if you tear/have an episiotomy 😱. So jelly of your champagne and Chinese right now - DH is on strict orders to get the champagne on ice for when I get home!

Sorry you’re having such a shit time with TSD not sleeping @Kate105, how old is he now? Could it be a regression? Or the position he sleeps in? Maybe suffering with reflux? Glad DH was able to take him off your hands for a bit.

Weekly visits sounds intense @DKDK123, but I am happy you are being so well looked after. Keeping my fingers crossed for no emergencies! How long do you think you will work for? I went to 36 weeks but to be honest the last 3/4 weeks were soooooooo draining!

Growth scan was fine, a big baby, we’re on for around 8.5lbs I think at 38w4d but not the absolute monster 11lbs1oz that DD was at the same gestation! Pre op next Tuesday with steroid injection Tues and Weds 😭 literally THE WORST! Then covid swabs and isolation 3 days before section and then will be eviction day! Anyone who has delivered early by section or induction feel super guilty about it? I know I did last time even though it’s only a week and a half.

Kirky658 · 20/01/2022 09:45

@crazydoglady123 you're free eeeeeeeee!
@lexber good luck today lovely

Ps if anyone is interested to know more abort the trauma therapy I am going through.. It is called EMDR.. It is very interesting to read about x

Vil10 · 20/01/2022 11:46

Thank you so much everyone on the messages about the house, 🤞🏼 it falls through but not going to get my hopes up, I was really upset yesterday but OH being the voice of reason talked me round and it obviously wasn't meant to be and the house for us is still out there!

@blackcurrantqueen so so glad you had a lovely experience during labour, you definitely need to try and rest up though! Ooo Chinese and champagne sounds dreamy!!

@becarefuloutthere ive never gone for the pitta I always get the wrap! But might need to try it out soon!

@DKDK123 wow that's a lot of appointments but I'm glad they're getting organised and taking care of you both!!

@larrythelizard if had pains and was worried I'd book a scan too but it could just be things stretching and moving x

@Crazydoglady123 wooo for freedom and seeing DS tonight!! What a good day!!

@paintfairy happy birthday🥳

@Lexber good luck today!!

@Kate105 sorry you're having such a tough time with TSD and sleeping!! Husband points though for him taking him off you for a little bit!

12 week scan on Saturday, how did that happen?? And the irrational thoughts have crept in, "what if I'm measuring too far behind", "what if they can't see a heartbeat" "what if something hasn't grown or developed properly", at least it's almost here and hopefully there'll have been nothing to worry about🤞🏼

Crazydoglady123 · 20/01/2022 12:52

@Lexber good luck with the scan!

@Kate105 that's good your OH stepped in to give you a break. You're doing an amazing job, remember that.

@Juno231 I'm still very shocked she's stayed in till now too 😂

@Haiyaa yep I've just been to my midwife appointment and she said at the end, "sweep?" Hell yes!

Anyway just had the sweep. Good news is I'm ranked 6-7 on the bishops score. 2cm dilated (apparently for subsequent pregnancies you're usually at least 1cm anyway) but more so better was she said my cervix was low and really, really soft so she gave me a huge sweep. She said she could feel madams head and easily broke my waters there and then. Feeling a bit shocked after as was bleeding. I did show my midwife as I cleaned up and she said to keep an eye on it as how it is at the minute is okay but if it gets heavier to go DAU. I got home and felt some blood as I went upstairs and have gone through my knickers and leggings so I've cleaned up and put a pad on to keep a check on it. Just after the bleed earlier on I just feel a bit panicked again 😬 I can't even remember bleeding with the sweeps I had with DS either. I've got my scan at the main hospital tonight and have got to go to the DAU after anyway to discuss an induction plan as we've agreed to give her till 41 weeks if the scan is okay

Crazydoglady123 · 20/01/2022 12:53

@Vil10 I meant to say too on the house! I'm so sorry! I am a believer everything happens for a reason and hopefully the buyer they accepted falls out 🤞

2020mission · 20/01/2022 13:36

@Crazydoglady123 sounds like it might happen soon 🤞 I was 1.5cm at my sweep and she could feel his head but days after nothing happened so ended up getting the induction. She sent me away telling us my cervix was favourable and made me believe it was going to work too 😅 I only had a bit of spotting that night but no proper bleed. I wouldn't worry too much! How many weeks along are you?
