As I'm avoiding doing any of the useful stuff I should be doing I thought I'd just pop another sidecar up x

@Sunbird24 hope to see you soon - will be keeping an eye on you on the other threads ❤️

@paintfairy not long left!

@Haiyaa holy crap that has come round quick - maybe have OH pack a bag just for fun and then redo it yourself 😜. I'd be intrigued to see what he'd include!

@Crazydoglady123 Christ that sounds eventful, I'm glad you seem to have gotten it mildly though!

Got my 12 week scan letter through today! 4th of Feb when I'll be 12+4 so it's pretty good timing wise :)

Vil10 · 14/01/2022 13:03

@Minster2012 @Sunbird24 it is a while off you're right but I'm one of those weird people who plans things way in advance😂 for example i was looking at the email this morning for when the payment has to be made by, it'll all work out, thst can be a worry for another day😂

@Sunbird24 pleased you're out of it and I'm still so sorry this happened to you! Rest well and take care of yourself! I hope we see you here again soon lovely x

@Crazydoglady123 oh what bloody rubbish timing but so glad you don't feel too bad and glad they're looking after you! Hope it disappears quite quickly for you!🤞🏼

@clolo how lovely you managed to film a kick!!

So had my lashes done last night and after 5 mins of being led there the room was spinning like mad, my head was pounding, I went really hot and thought I was going to throw up, then it settled after 5 mins but I still don't feel 100% now, bad headache and a little dizzy and nauseous and keep wretching! Spoke to my friend who's a midwife and she said it's because I was led flat on my back, stupidly I didn't think that made much difference until I was further along but obviously it does...hoping for an easy afternoon at work then I can have a chilled evening!

Vil10 · 14/01/2022 13:03

@larrythelizard sorry I was supposed to tag you in my first comment not sunbird x

DKDK123 · 14/01/2022 14:42

@minster2012 @larrythelizard yip I was that tired yesterday I couldn't even get DH and DS right 🤣 DH can just about dress himself thankfully, although I do often question his taste in clothes 😂 it was DS in his PJs watching cartoons, I swear baby brain is taking over more and more by the day! 🙈

@Crazydoglady123 crazy how despite your best efforts you still caught it yet other people can live in a household with it and not catch it. It really is the most bizarre virus ever in terms of who it gets and how severe they get it! Glad to hear you don't have it severe tho and hopefully it'll be all cleared before bubs makes an appearance but sounds like your hospital are well prepared and accommodating just incase which must be a big weight off your shoulder.

Oh @kate105 you're bringing back so many memories of sleep deprived nights that I've buried to the back of my mind trying to pretend it won't happen again this time round 🙈😂 Driving at 3am was my go to just to give my ears half an hours respite tho I remember walking DS round the living room in the pram some nights at silly o'clock in an attempt to get him to sleep when I was too tired to drive. I know it feels never ending just now but it does eventually get better then you too can bury the memory to the back of your mind till your next one comes along 😂

@Haiyaa last week of work, you can make it! 🥳 100% with you on the hormonal front, I get teary thinking about how tiny DS was and that he'll never be that teeny again, then I get doubly teary knowing this one is my last and I'll never have another chance to go through all the baby phase again 😭 (but then I read posts like Kate105s and I remember having something that small isn't all fun and games 🤣)

@paintfairy yea you're right on the car seat front 45mins tops then they need to come out, but they don't need out for long just 10/15mins to help their spine straighten out and also to help their lungs open up. If they're bent over too long they can silently develop breathing difficulties. It scared the life out of me because around the time DS was born a local woman was in our newspaper warning people of the dangers of car seats for too long as they were going on a journey that was only going to take them about 40mins but they got stuck in a traffic jam due to a crash and it took them nearly 2 hours to get home, they thought baby was just sleeping in her car sear but sadly she'd died 😢 I hoped it was just a freak accident so read up on babies in car seats and sadly yes its true while it wont happen to every baby its one of those things that can happen so best err on the side of caution and take out after 45 mins. It made me so paranoid on long car journeys, we still had to do them as we've family 3 hours away but just scheduled in lots of stops on the way and I sat in the back with the car seat (constantly putting my hand on DS chest to check he was breathing when he got too quite, probably overkill but I was so paranoid after reading her story!). Don't know how I'll cope this time round tho as DS will be in the back with his car seat and with 2 cars seats in the back now I don't think I'll squeeze in too, already having major anxiety about car journeys! 🙈
Hope all goes well on the scan today, not long to go now! 😁

@clolo amazing on the kick film already! It's such a surreal time isn't it once you properly realise there's a living, moving thing inside of you that you can see moving.

Did you get back in time for your Asda shop @blackcurrantqueen? Typical isn't it!

@Sunbird24 giving you a big tight squeeze and hoping you're back on the bus in no time. I hope you've got lots of support around you IRL just now, take care of yourself and give yourself time and space to process everything. Sending you all the love in the world and crossing everything your happy ending is just around the corner.

@Vil10 I think its more common later on but you're just one of the unlucky ones that's going to need to stay off her back from early on. Hope you're feeling a bit better now.

Minster2012 · 14/01/2022 16:03

Sorry have been busy this afternoon,

@Sunbird24 all the love hun & I'm so pleased it was better than last time. You know we are all here for you & want you back ASAP ❤️just chill now

@Juno231 that's excellent so you've got one next week then another just over 2 weeks & another one, fab stuff

It will work out @Vil10, you could always go for maybe 4 days if guy want to leave bub at home (you'll prob be REALLY glad of a break by age 1 🤪) or take them with you & use it as a family holiday too! It's weird isn't it the laid on your back thing obviously it affects ppl differently, I am still most comfortable on my back. Very weird

@blackcurrantqueen you are also on chill out. My orders.

Lexber · 14/01/2022 16:54

So glad you feel ok @Crazydoglady123 🤞🏼🤞🏼 it stays that way and you test neg at the weekend!! I think age/health has a massive effect as me and OH have both been so poorly and that is jabbed - I dread to think how ill we could have been 😩

It's been eventful @Haiyaa but starting to feel more me - still not eating/drinking a a I should be but in the way.
Attempted to work (from home) today - didn't do much except try and work through the mass of emails and invoices 🤦🏽‍♀️ a little start to make Monday easier for me and less daunting

@clolo I filmed one yesterday also and from the quieter twin! I'm So desperate for oh to see/feel them- they're getting so strong now it feels so hard but he has his hand there and feels nothing lol

Gosh that's come around quickly @Haiyaa - I need to start thinking about mine too but it feels too early.. but I just know I need to be ready just in case!!

Sending love @Sunbird24 ❤️ xxxx

bez91 · 14/01/2022 17:18

Argggh @Crazydoglady123 that's not ideal but good you feel ok. Your midwife sounds ace though!

Sending you so much love @Sunbird24 ❤️

@Vil10 baby will be fine even in the heat at that age if you wanted to take them. We took DD at 10 months, the worst part was the plane journey as she didn't want to keep still for the duration and especially on our knee! A friend of mine travelled USA for 4 months when their baby was 4/5 months old, easier when they can't move like someone else said 😆

We have a fun weekend of DIY planned 🙄What will be babies room is over part of the garage after we've extended so it all needs extra insulating as we've realised it's quite cold on one side.

DKDK123 · 14/01/2022 17:33

Oh my, I dont think I'll complain about my back being sore or feeling huge again. Check out the size of this woman with triplets she looks in so much pain! 😲 fb.watch/axr8z6E_lj/

Kate105 · 14/01/2022 17:34

So much jeopardy @blackcurrantqueen put us out of our misery! DID YOU MAKE IT HOME IN TIME FOR YOUR ASDA ORDER?!

Lexber · 14/01/2022 17:46

Omg @DKDK123 that scares me!! 🤣🤦🏽‍♀️
I don't think I will be that big but I'm 23 weeks and also wash the size I was full term with 1... not the best pictures but these were earlier this week! 😬

You'll all be glad to know I did intact make it home in time for the Asda delivery! 🥰😂

Have batch cooked some Bolognese and a chicken and rice soup for the freezer

And that's it now. Hibernation mode is on until Monday!!

paintfairy · 14/01/2022 17:59

I need to catch up. But.....

Scan update! Measuring 12+5 today, so only 1 day ahead. Baby was co-operative for measurements, which was worrying. 🤣 How often does that happen? So she got everything she needed. The lady was ok and there was an additional screen to the side, so we could see everything from the beginning. No delay.
The whole hospital thing was very confusing though with where to go and what to do. Signs saying patient only to even go towards reception. I couldn't work out if DH could come or not (or where to even go). Found it (bonus wee bottles on the counter). They take your book, give you a ticket like at the meat counter, and then you have to go back to the main entrance waiting area. They call over a tannoy your number and go to scan room xxx when it's your turn. Which is fun when you have no idea where they are. The numbers weren't in order either. They called one in the 80s and one in the 70s before me at 59. 🤷‍♀️🤣 But weren't really late.
The scan room was back past the scary don't come by here sign. So I'm dragging DH behind me, with no idea if he could come in. 🤣 But we asked the lady in the room and she said it was fine.
There was a note on the door about buying scan photo tokens from reception. No one mentioned it though. After the scan I had to wait alone in the reception and DH go back to the main entrance area, whilst she did my notes and arranged my blood test. I took this opportunity to have a very nice wee. 🤣 In the toilet like.
When she came out, she gave me scan photos? 🤯 They aren't as good as the private ones, and neither did the machine seem to be. But I'll take it. 😆
I then booked my next appointment (for 7 weeks today) at the desk and just had to wait for the blood test, wasn't long. I got a plaster for that (unheard of) and the lady was nice. Very bizarre experience if you ask me. 🤣🤣🤣
I should get a letter in 2 weeks but she did say if there's a problem with tests they'll usually contact you before.

bez91 · 14/01/2022 18:11

Wow @DKDK123 that doesn't even look real 😳 our bodies are pretty incredible!

@blackcurrantqueen glad you made it for your order, I've been there - the stress 😂 enjoy your weekend before Monday 😊

Fantastic news @paintfairy that's great, very pleased everything was ok. My nhs trust used to charge for photos but I don't know if it's a covid related thing so there's no one putting their fingers all over the token machine. The question is, did you get given tissue to wipe your belly? That was you right?

larrythelizard · 14/01/2022 18:19

Sounds great @paintfairy, do you have any plans to tell anyone now?

LOVE the converse @Lexber very cool! Have you worked out how there'll be room for them in the campervan?

Sounds fun but necessary @bez91 - surely you can just hang on with DD instead of doing any of the hard work? Or wait, that probably is the harder work!

Oh that's good @Juno231 - my scan date should follow after booking in appt at the weekend, I suspect it'll be the Weds before you knowing what day they do (did?) scans at my local teeny tiny hospital

No gym tomorrow so get a lie in, SO need it, despite daily naps I'm exhausted.

Vegan carbonara courtesy of pasta evangelists tonight 👌🏻

paintfairy · 14/01/2022 18:39

@bez91 🤣 It was me but it wasn't that region they weren't allowing me to wipe. 🤭 I just used the paper towel thing that they put on you and tuck into your pants.
@larrythelizard ideally I'd like to wait until I get the test results first. In an even more perfect world I'd like to wait until I've had my next scan! 😁 Its my secret and I like it!
However my idiot work friends are trying to organise another night out in a couple of weeks. Not really sure how I'll wangle that one.....

Minster2012 · 15/01/2022 08:13

Sorry had a silence yesterday evening, shall catch up in a bit as DS on one & just me again

@paintfairy that's so great! Our hospital is kinda like that with the different areas but no meat counter tannoy numbers but we have to pay for scan photos on the way in too & we didn't realise. So pleased it's ok though xx

kaylsd · 15/01/2022 08:26

@vil10 try not to worry too much I got that holiday darling take it as it all comes, it’ll all fall into place hopefully for you! Hopefully your lashes look beaut and makes that little bit of offness worth it 🙈🙈
@larrythelizard sorry to hear you’ve still been sicky do you want to share some over to me so I can try make it better for you 🙈 sounds like it’s been not very kind to you in these first stages!
@kate105 sending luck over for a lottery win, if this works can I have same back 🤣✨
@sunbird24 sending you the biggest hugs and loves in your recovery process, take your time to heal, always here for you if you need anything xxx
@juno231 glad it’s all coming into place now for you, not long to wait for your scan now :)
@paintfairy glad everything went okay for you :)
@minster2012 sending hugs over to you today if you need any to get you through anything ❤️

Hope everyone’s alright, little check in! Driving down to friends near Peterborough today, dreading it as it’ll be nearly a 3 hour drive for us & I have a bladder size of a pea these days 🙃 have an amazing weekend ladies! Booking appointment next week, still minimum symptoms, hopefully little ones still cooking okay 🤞🏻

paintfairy · 15/01/2022 09:37

@larrythelizard peaceful holiday as the baby can't move. 🤣 Sounds a winner. I probably would go if it weren't for the continuing covid nonsense. If it settled then we might.
@DKDK123 God that woman with the car seat. Yes that's terrifying. And I'd be paranoid after reading that. How awful! And most people wouldn't really think about it, I wouldn't had no one said.
As for covid- I did think the same about it being odd who gets it, especially same household etc. But then after I thought about it- every other virus is the same? Most times DH and I never get each others colds, only rarely. And when people I know (and me) have had flu before, no one else in the house has. So I guess its just different people have different immune systems to each other? 🤷‍♀️ So you never really know what you will get and what you won't. Like a lottery, only much less fun. 🤣
@blackcurrantqueen isolating sounds, well, non isolated! 🤣 They don't really think when they give out these rules and on a practical level it doesn't always really work. I hope you are OK. Yay for Asda. 🥳
@clolo how long were you trying to film the kick for? 🤔🤣 That's amazing though.
@Lexber gosh, you can tell which twin is kicking? 😲 And yes, you are massive. 🤣
@Sunbird24 glad everything went as smoothly as it could. I look forward to you returning.
@kaylsd ooohh stop at one of the ok diner's for a milkshake! You can wee too. 🤣 Assuming you are going A1?

The constipation seems to have been replaced by the opposite. Yesterday the nerves set it off and its still here today. Yay. I get so anxious going to hospital, for anything. My arm saga was as bad.
Another conversation we have already had and I can't remember the answer- if the placenta is at the back, do you feel the movements earlier? 🤔
And I need bras. I can't deal with this discomfort any more. What size I've no idea. So that's today's mission......

Lexber · 15/01/2022 10:31

@larrythelizard sadly there is no way of making it work as the back seating is a side setup 😬 so we are waiting until the weather brightens a little and selling him... 😕 BUT I made OH promise in the future when the twins are older (say 6/7) we can get another - maybe a newer version) and have more adventures with the kids.

Oh no @Minster2012 hope today isn't too stressful - when my youngest is on one it's always a "delight"

Wow I have serious fanny daggers this morning!!! 😩😬😬

Have a safe drive @kaylsd im now at that stage where I need to pee all the time, like really feel like I'm going to wet myself! To sit down to a trickle 🤣🤣

Haha @paintfairy thanks 🤣🤣🤣 and yes most of the time I can tell which one it is now. They're both transverse - he is the bottom and she is the top. A few middle movements confuse me but the majority I can tell. I keep trying for OH to feel but as strong as they feel inside now they're not strong enough outside yet - won't be long though...

kaylsd · 15/01/2022 10:59

@paintfairy get to matalan and Asda George for bras! They had a sale on when I went either last week or the week before! They’ve got some really nice no wire comfy ones ❤️ and a1 it is my dear! Apparently it’s the quickest way from where we live, DH doing the drive down im driving back 😩 it looks so scary the roads with the fog! Solid 0 degrees 😨
@lexber I know how you feel there girl, I’ve purposely had bare minimum to drink this morning to help me with the car journey! Even the sound of rain dripping or taps dripping can make me want to go to toilet these days 🤣 thank you ❤️😘 I still get the tuppy lightning issues every single day nearly 🙈🙈🙈

Minsters Sidecar Bumping Along - ttc graduates thread 5
paintfairy · 15/01/2022 11:09

@kaylsd that's where I was going to try actually! 😁 Yeah it's not great out there, drive carefully!
@Lexber that's really cool.

Minster2012 · 15/01/2022 11:25

Right we have come out for brunch in a cafe to get some much needed food for energy, & to get outta the house. My head is pounding today.

However I need to share with you the rather surreal conversation at my friends last night between 3 of us. Well, two other friends talking about childbirth & the results of & me just smiling & nodding & trying not to freak.

They were basically talking about how they used to have lovely minges pre children & now they look like a shit show of a sausage bap & many other things I'm not inclined to repeat, including needing a towel for sex 😳. It def made me feel better for having a c section though we all know I've got a cave foof anyway. They were like "how bout you?" Forgetting I didn't carry DS & I was like well I feel really bad for my friend now 😬

Minster2012 · 15/01/2022 11:26

@paintfairy if your placenta is at the back then in theory you can feel movements earlier (unless you are me!)

Lexber · 15/01/2022 11:29

@Minster2012 I had 2 natural births and my first ripped me front to back but apparently I have A lovely vagina 🤣🤣
Don't get me wrong it's not as neat as it used to be, but it's also not that bad!

I def pee a little more since babies but ya know what I know women without kids who pee themselves too.. 🤣🤣🤣

2020mission · 15/01/2022 11:47

@Minster2012 what a chat to have with friends 😅 I haven't had sex since having Matthew as it's only been just over 2 weeks but I will say I've investigated down there and everything seems fine. I had to have an episiotomy at the very last minute but it's just a small cut and hasn't been that bad at all post birth. In fact going for 💩 after birth in the hospital didn't hurt at all. Sitting was a bit sore for the first few days but otherwise it's been fine so a vaginal birth is definitely not going to be bad for everyone! I'd easily do it again. I thought pushing him out would be worse than it actually was it honestly just felt like having a big jaggy 💩 😆

Here's a laugh for you all... went to change Matthew the other morning after hearing and smelling poo noises to find he had NO nappy on! My husband somehow forgot to put it on during a middle of then night change 😂 I mean how can you forget?? So I had the fun experience of hand washing shit from his lovely fleecy baby grow. I guess that's what using reusable nappies is like. I wonder if it's an attempt by my husband to get out of nappy changes or if he's genuinely just that sleep deprived!

Sorry I've not been keeping up here with being so busy with a newborn. Matthew isn't gaining weight as expected they think my milk supply is low due to the postpartum haemorrhage I had. I only got to breast feed him 5 hours after birth because I was rushed to theatre. I'm feeling super guilty about it. Having to supplement with formula and trying to pump milk as much as I can to try and increase the amount. Breastfeeding is definitely not easy!
