As I'm avoiding doing any of the useful stuff I should be doing I thought I'd just pop another sidecar up x

Thank you for the reassurance on the movements (lack of), I have got a midwives appointment tomorrow to check with the Doppler which is great they've got me in. The midwife I spoke to was lovely. I'm sure it's nothing but great to be able to check 🤞🏻

@DKDK123 chlamydia that's hilarious!

@feliznavidad2 lots of old lady names round here, one of our friends have 3 kids (& pregnant again) & all kids have "old" names

feliznavidad2 · 11/01/2022 20:58

Glad you've got the midwife appointment tomorrow @Minster2012 x

Juno231 · 12/01/2022 07:32

I know a man called Anal if anyone wants to be inspired by that name? Even had another one at work... Surname Ram 😆

@Minster2012 glad you got that appointment in!

larrythelizard · 12/01/2022 08:37

Pleased you've got an appt @Minster2012

@DKDK123 wow chlamydia 😂 maybe shorten it to mydia! The system broke last night when DD to wake up for 3 hours in the night for no particular reason 🤦🏼‍♀️ I've dropped her off of nursery this morning with matchsticks propping my eyelids open and thought shit this will be every morning in 4/5 months time 🙈

@Minster2012 that's really good from your midwife team, I'm sure everything is well 🥰 have you got long to wait to see them today?

@Juno231 Anal? Ok 😂 assuming he is not English?

Has anyone had Braxton Hicks and can tell me how they differ from contractions? I had really uncomfortable pain last night in bed for a couple of hours but it wasn't very contraction like and was accompanied by fanny daggers 🗡

Minster2012 · 12/01/2022 09:25

@DKDK123 @bez91 well Mydia is better than Clammy for sure 😂😂😂oh god @bez91 that's not fun, are you able to have a nap later??? Least she's in nursery today & bit a day with you. Small mercies. My appointment is at 3.30 so a fairly long time to wait but better than nothing

Anal is pretty unfortunate @Juno231 that's the difficulty with names/languages in different countries they could mean entirely different things 🙄

My friend said to me last night "have you started thinking about a nursery room for baby?" Errr nope. If we have started building then we might not even be at our house & if we haven't then that's fine no point decorating in a house that will change. I'm def trying not to stress bout it

Juno231 · 12/01/2022 10:14

@Minster2012 I also saw someone on Reddit yesterday saying they're making their kid Negar... Living in the US I wouldn't want people to think my kid's name was the n-word! Agree that planning a nursery now is tricky! Same predicament here, although arguably more time to get it sorted as you're already due in May 😱

@bez91 ha yes apparently it's an Indian name.

Surnames crack me up too - I've had colleagues with the surname Semen and Fucherider (fuck rider). Ooh and a girl in our thai compliance team with the first name Iamthongthong.

paintfairy · 12/01/2022 10:25

@Vil10 IMO your response to me is out of order. I even went back and reread what I'd written (in case I had written something I didn't know about).
Nowhere in my post did I write 'you should get married'. Neither did I say that people should get married because 'society says its the next step'.
What i actually said was financially and legally there are a whole lot of issues that you (not personally you 🙄) are leaving yourself open to and I chose not to put myself in that position. (I could give many examples, but that would be pointless).

I think calling someone 'ignorant' for researching something and making an informed decision based upon it, is somewhat.........bemusing. Confused

I really do not lie awake at night, worrying about what other people are doing (certainly ones I've never met), so what you do really is of no importance to me. However, I will not be spoken to like that. By anyone.

Minster2012 · 12/01/2022 11:24

Negar oh dear that's not ideal 🤔

In other non fisticuffs news look at what my SIL gave me to look through to see what I want from the stuff they had for Dnephew

Babies start that small right??

@Minster2012 I don't know? I guess they do! 🤣 I love the top one though! That's gorgeous!

If anyone’s still stuck for names for their shortlist, this thread has 3 corkers…

I don't know if DS was ever that small @Minster2012 - he came out at 9lb! Wool is stretchy though...!

Still got a headache, think I need to overhaul my diet, am somehow only eating white carbs and fruit and neither are good for keeping blood sugar stable - I usually eat quite a high protein diet. Problem is I can't face sweet things so protein shakes/bars are out of the window, can't eat dairy or eggs and the thought of most meat is 🤢. So if anyone has any ideas of high(er) protein things I can eat that are savoury but not dairy or eggs or flavoursome meat that would be amazing!

Ha @Sunbird24 I love hearing about crazy baby names...! Surely calling your child Slim is tempting fate?! Maybe they're just big Eminem fans?!

@bez91 Ann teek🤣 brilliant🤣🤣

@Minster2012 yep as in a dash!! How ridiculous😂

@DKDK123 chlamydia wow😂😂

@Minster2012 so glad you got an appointment!! What time is it today?? Don't stress about the house thing lovely, when I got my BFP I had a meltdown thinking about our house situations but we just need to try and stay zen, it'll all work out!🤞🏼

@larrythelizard with you on the headache front!! My head has been pounding for days and I can't stop wretching! Also almonds and peanuts are high in protein, maybe some peanut butter on toast?? Or some dried nuts and fruit?

Juno231 · 12/01/2022 12:36

@Minster2012 I need a banana next to it for reference 😅. My friend's baby came out the size of a 3 month old (59cm! Two ruler's length!) and she didn't get to use any of her newborn/0-3 months clothes so that did put me off buying teeny stuff 😆.

@Sunbird24 if I named my kid slim it would blatantly be chunky lol

Minster2012 · 12/01/2022 12:49

@clolo well similar here really.DS was 9lb so I'm not sure he had things that small like you say @larrythelizard might need a bit of stretching 😂

I missed the Ann Teek @bez91 another brilliant one! Also agree that slim is kinda asking for problems @Sunbird24

@Vil10 i'm channelling all the zen, babies don't care where they sleep long as it's near us so it'll be fine! As will yours, have you heard anymore on the potential viewing of the house?

@larrythelizard lentils, tofu and I think you can get non diary yoghurts that are still high in protein? Ooo nuts a good one, what about other dried fruit maybe they are good too

@paintfairy yeah we have a lot of knitters in the family so have a good supply of lovely handmade knitted stuff, my mum has just given both my DS & Dnephew matching Thomas the tank engine jumpers ❤️

One banana and additional knife for reference @Juno231 (probs a medium banana?) and yes one of my other nephews was really long but super skinny so they had all kind of issues😂

Minster2012 · 12/01/2022 12:52

Oh and appointment at 3.30 @Vil10

Juno231 · 12/01/2022 12:53

@Minster2012 so tiny 😭 she'll be so so cute in those! Have you gotten any closer on deciding on a name? Your parents would probably advise you not to give her a name until she's 2 though 🤣

bez91 · 12/01/2022 12:56

@Minster2012 Clammy 😂 maybe not chance for a nap, I'd like to get out for a walk being my first day of freedom! Maybe just an early night. The rainbow coloured cardi is super cute, reminds me of those Zap ice lollies. Definitely that small, DD was 6lb 3oz so nothing fit her for ages so kinda got money's worth with clothing, banana for reference 😆

@larrythelizard argggh how annoying, I had them quite bad too. How about apple and peanut butter for high protein? Ham?

Juno231 · 12/01/2022 13:50

@larrythelizard btw my diet is pure white carbs and fruit as well 😅

larrythelizard · 12/01/2022 14:07

Hadn't thought of nuts @Vil10 - the thought of them in my mouth is not amazing but might be worth pushing through and trying them!

That's quite a good shout actually @bez91, adding something to something I can already stomach is a good one!

Made myself a pasta salad for lunch with chicken cut up really small and added edamame beans for extra protein and it was ok actually.

I'd be ok with it @Juno231 if I wasn't so desperate for this headache to go!

I remembered I had some blue light glasses from last years migraine incident so have those on today, feel a bit like I'm in fancy dress!!

larrythelizard · 12/01/2022 14:08

You've got me wanting a fruity ice lolly now @bez91 - I have ordered some nice looking mango ones from Ocado but they won't be here until Friday!

Still Covid free over here 🤞🏻 although TSD was up partying so hard between 1 and 3am that I almost wished we had Covid so I could dose him up with calpol and knock him out for a bit 😂

I have taught a Chanel before ("like the perfume Miss") as well as a Namaste (hippy parents lol)

Minster2012 · 12/01/2022 15:22

@Juno231 she would be cute! Yes we have decided a name. Probs one my parents or /and his parents will hate but hey ho such is life!

@bez91 did you get out for your walk?

@larrythelizard I have total images of you looking like you are going to watch a 3D film 😂, have you tried the peg on the hand trick?

Was Chanel's middle name '5' @Kate105?? God your stories about TSD really make me think I'm woefully underprepared again to have awful sleep!
