@Minster2012 oh and yes I gave up on the specific nipt I wanted and just booked one where I went for my 8 week scan. So I've got it next Tuesday! I'm excited to have a scan then too to make sure everything is still okay - I'll be 10+1.

Speaking of names, I don't have my husband's surname but will be giving the baby his surname - purely because my surname is a pain in the arse in English and doesn't hyphenate well. @Vil10 you're not married right? Will you be doing the same?

@Minster2012 glad you found the next appointment, my next midwife app is when I'll be 25 weeks. I assume it's supposed to be a 24 week app for us both! I did wonder if Alexander was his full name. No eeeking out being waited on by DH, he's gone to work and is on call so I probably won't see him until tomorrow 😩

@Juno231 there are so many lovely Scandinavian names. I would never even think TURD was part of that name 😂 I know what you mean about pronunciation though. DH has a boy called Leo in his family which if you say it where I'm from is quite nice, the way they say it from West Yorkshire and the way they hold onto their O's it's awful 🙈 yayy to you keeping your maiden name. I took DHs but it's so bloody boring and I loved my unusual unmarried name!

Hello there lovely ladies sorry for been quiet had a whirlwind few days again, the spotting increased and actually passed a medium size clot at work as you can imagine panic stations set in straight away! Ended up going to pdeu this morning thinking the worst like you do, turns out little bub likes to frighten the life out of me! Absolutely fine, measuring 9 week on the dot which now puts me to the date now of my ovulation to say I've been measuring days behind I think everything's caught up now! HB 161, still not a lot of symptoms but today I'm counting my blessings that the clot wasn't anything bad and the haemtoma is being a pain in my arse once again!

I hope everyone's well, sorry for being quiet! I find it hard balance at moment with my work life learning about oncology in my spare time & got bits and bobs happening with family ❤️😘 lots of love to you all always xxx

@paintfairy I’m with you there with the baby names! I find it so frustrating, especially when DH compares some names to little twats when he was at school or someone’s little ones called that 🙈🙈🙈 I really love the name Ophelia but my niece is called Amelia, so it’s a no no :( sadly! And thank you I hope it's the last for the blood episodes!

@bez91 argh for him being back at work but I guess he has to, I know what you mean about the pronunciation, a name I wanted would sound just awful pronounced like they do in Hull so it's a no! And having worked and lived in Leeds I know what you mean about the o!

We are averaging sex once I week I think, even with illness & bump. That's not a lot for us though so I know it's not just me, I have initiated a few times & been turned down!

@Juno231 what other lovely scandi names are there? I bet there are loads! What's the spreadsheet for I think I've missed that! And yesss for another scan how exciting! Then do you have your 12 week through? My brother & his girlfriend have a son & his name on the birth certificate is (FIRST NAME) (MIDDLE NAME) (her surname) (his surname) so his actual surname is both of theirs but 2 words as they didn't want to hyphenate it but in theory he could drop one or the other when older if he wanted. Also he's got dual nationality & it hasn't caused an issue

It's those Mrs Elwood ones I like @Minster2012 (other than the tiny weeny cornichons which fall into your mouth just so nicely!) so I'd be OK. I was disgusted that Ocado had no Branston Pickle - that was the last nail in the coffin and have definitely decided to move away from them once my smart pass is over!

Mss as y have bought some of those Mrs Elwood ones @larrythelizard, PLUS the pickled onions PLUS Branston pickle sorry 🤪though apparently it has to be small chunk branston or I get divorced 😜

@juno231 Freya is a lovely name. Despite it being in the top 20 I've personally only came across one Freya in the past 10 years and being a teacher you come across lots of names, so I'd take the top list with a pinch of salt and just think about what names you do/don't hear often where you stay.
On the surnames we weren't married when I had DS, marriage has never been a priority of mine, but we gave DS, DHs surname. Once the two boys had the same surname I actually did want to get married as I felt left out not having the same surname as them!

@Minster2012 glad you've got your appointment sorted now, can't believe they forgot to tell you, its not like you need to be there or anything 🤦‍♀️

@paintfairy mine looks similar to a common name with a 'C' infront of it so many people assume that's how it's pronounced but its pronounced entirely different. I got so fed up correcting people growing up that I just answer to anything now 😂

Still an hour and a half to go 🙄 Work went excruciatingly slow today. I did home home to find some amazing parcels my best friend had sent for baby with new playmat, bibs, swaddles, snowsuit for winter, pram parasol for summer and baby thermometer. She must have spent a fortune and I know being her she'll buy even more once baby's here. I told her she'd spent far too much and she said it's for a special long awaited baby that deserves it, must admit I shed a little tear. Then of course had the absolute fear what if things aren't OK tonight and I need to tell her to send it all back 🙈 so did my usual when anxiety creeps in and bought something as an f*you universe, it's happening 😂 We're not religious or anything so won't be having godmothers or that but I decided to make her a guide mother without the pizzaz of a ceremony, I ordered a nice wee card asking if she'll be a guide mother then saw a thing saying every princess needs a fairy godmother and my friend is a big Disney fan so got that too. Seeing her this weekend so hopefully it arrives in time to give her.

@bez91 thank you and yeah absolutely! Ordered the rainbow rug and some storage units today. The prints are due on weds so think I'll do another pic on Friday when more is done. I hope you get to do it this time round, that's exciting 😀
How did Dh enjoy the princess party btw? I bet he loved it right?! I still managed to swerve covid from Dh, can't believe it! He's finally getting a faded line so I've moved bk into our room now. I still went into the spare room at 530 this am tho as I couldn't get bk to sleep after my 3rd wee of the night! 🤦🏾‍♀️

What did you think to stay close? I liked it but not as good as his others ones I thought.

@becarefuloutthere @kaylsd ooohhh we finished watching that last night! I did enjoy it but it annoyed me a bit that I never felt I was getting any closer to knowing what was happening! I also had horrible weird dreams last night which were a combination of baby scans, combined with (don't want to ruin it for anyone) what they discovered at the end of the 2nd to last episode. So very messed up! 🤣
I'm not sure if I've seen all the others? Some are foreign and I struggle with those? I feel i watched one but can't remember which. I've seen the stranger and the one on netflix i can't think of the name of, the gated community one.
@DKDK123 hmmmm, I'm not sure how yours is pronounced if it's not how I think. I might have to pm you out of nosiness. 🤣 But I haven't ever seen it before.
@becarefuloutthere yeah I agree. If I was having a girl I wouldn't be over pinking everything. I was never a girly girl myself. Neither would I probably go with the obvious boy blue if it was a boy. Certainly not in a heavy way.

He's 3 months now @paintfairy and he just seems to need it that way! We were given a Close Caboo sling and an Infantino baby carrier. Both are awesome in my opinion! TSD basically lived in the sling for the first 8 weeks when he was clingy and tiny and now we've moved over to the harness. The sling took a bit of getting used to but it was brilliant once I watched the instructions on YouTube 75 billion times 😂

I've tried to catch up but failed. Names are a shitshow for me as a teacher, far too many have been ruined for me! Hence the classic but goodie James for TSD (although TSD suits him better).

Pray for me lads (spelled that prey first time ahaha). TSD is asleep in his sleeping bag with both arms freeeeeee 😬 he's currently 1 arm up 1 down like he's doing Saturday Night Fever 😂😂😂😂😂

Thankyou everyone for the messages about the house I'm really hoping this one or even one soon is the one!! A man we know works at an estate agents and he said they've had 36 valuations since last Wednesday so they're expecting a massive influx of houses coming to the market by the beginning of feb, so we need to be ready to pounce🤞🏼😂

@Juno231 I'll be doing the same with the last name the baby will be having my OH's last name, we don't really have any plans to get married though, we'll probably get engaged but neither of us are bothered about getting married, the only reason I'd want it is to have a nice ring which I can have for an engagement, a nice dress😂 and to have the same last name as my children, so we said if it came to it and we still weren't bothered about getting married but I wanted the same last name we'll just change it by deed poll😂😂

@kaylsd so glad everything was fine and it was just baby scaring you!! At least you got to see him/her again!!

So it was my booking in appointment today! The midwife was lovely, said my height weight bmi blood pressure and this breath thing was all perfect and considering everything my pregnancy is considered low risk, she sent off for my 12 week appointment asking for it to be on Thursday the 20th, anyway apparently it's all on an app now so I didn't have a big pregnancy file with all my notes in, it's all on an app called badger notes, all my appointments, blood results everything which is handy so I don't have to take anything to appointments! So by dinner today my 12 week appointment had already come through and it's on Saturday the 22nd early morning which I'm so happy about because we can then spend the rest of the day telling extended family and other friends!

@minster2012 sounds perfect your wound process to me, it’s amazing how dressings can work to heal the body! Does the pickle craving give you acid by any chance? 🤣 with the looks of the shelves there may be a panic buying situation for covid with those empty sections! Could be the next toilet roll shortage saga next!
@larrythelizard the curry was beautiful! Absolutely podged now though 🐷 I’m a wuss and have mild curries but DH likes the hot stuff, RIP our toilet in the morning 🤣🤣🙈

@paintfairy I loved watching stay close I would have woke up so confused if I had dreams about it 🤣🙈 saying that I had a nightmare last night about my scan having no heartbeat that was the first nightmare for anything like that, woke up today saying just remember it was just a dream and not to think too much into it!

Just a very quick check in to say all is well 🥰 Going to get DS to bed and get dinner before I read back and check in properly.

I was so shattered I fell asleep straight after dinner, think it was the adrenaline crash after sitting on tenderhooks all day waiting for scan time! Now awake again for my usual nighttime insomnia 😂
As I said all completely perfect with the scan which was a relief. It took her ages to get the measurements she needed as baby was a complete wriggler so she had to keep skipping parts and coming back to them. Baby kept waving and kicking then bending over and grabbing her toes, just like a real baby and I just whispered she's actually real and got a tad emotional 🙈 (I know you guys would understand the feeling of reaching this stage and still not fully believing till now, think DH and the sonographer just thought I was nuts 😂)
The only downside is I've got another low lying placenta which I was hoping not to have again this time as that contributed to a lot of troubles last time round but hey what's one more obstacle 🙄 And a lot of the scan time after baby's measurements had to be spent on the fibroid which was too big to get the shots she needed of fibroid, placenta and cervix in one shot which just brought back horrible deja vu memories and I wanted to say ignore that let's go back look at the baby again that's far more fun 😂
But for now I can't ask for more than I got which is a healthy wriggly baby in there so that's what I'm focusing on 🥰

That's absolutely great news about the baby @DKDK123, not about the placenta but I'm with the others it doesn't mean that it will do the same AND they are going to be closely monitoring you 🤞🏻

So pleased your appointment went well @Vil10 id love to not have to carry my notes around! And the houses, come on this is it!!

I need to watch this stay close by the sounds of it?

I'm really worried, I felt movements one night last week (Monday the night of my scan) and nothing else since. Literally nothing. Extensive Googling still says it can be normal but I'm so worried. Contemplating a Doppler. Argh the worry never ends

Knackered though atm. I fell asleep downstairs at before 9 and slept all night

Was then presented with DS bringing a jar of branston pickle upstairs to me in bed as DH was making his lunch, I guess news of my pickle cravings are spreading!

I love it when you can see the personality of the baby ready @DKDK123 😍. It may bring back bad memories but at least with those you know what happened and you know you got through it, so you know you can do it again right?

@Minster2012 you're very early to feel movements still and also a regular pattern. If I were you id ring the midwife and see if they can get you in for some monitoring? Or at least an appt to hear the heartbeat. Or maybe book a private scan? Hope you're feeling better this morning x
