As I'm avoiding doing any of the useful stuff I should be doing I thought I'd just pop another sidecar up x

@bez91 I think some ppl are just immune to it 🤷🏾‍♀️ and yeh absolutely with the kicking. The off guard shout out load ones are like woah! Calm down little one.
@paintfairy I don't scar well either. My lap scars look grim and my skin has stretched round them so I'm looking all sorts of sexy at the minute 🤪
@Minster2012 one of my fav Disney films! The original or the Emma Watson one?
@Vil10 well this is wonderful news! Love it when the stars align 👏🏾 good luck 🤞🏾
@DKDK123 good to hear you're gonna be well looked after! X

I'm seeing a chiropractor Tuesday to hopefully sort my pgp and back out, can't bloody wait! They came recommended so I have high hopes! 🤞🏾

Happy Sunday all! Im still lying in bed 🥱
Nursery curtains and lampshade came yesterday so putting those up today 😊

feliznavidad2 · 09/01/2022 10:40

Ohh for those who asked, pregnancy yoga was lovely - so relaxing. I mean, we did a few moves? poses? or whatever they're called Blush but lots of breathing and focusing on our babies which was nice.

paintfairy · 09/01/2022 12:10

@Minster2012 assume you mean the more modern version? I've not seen that, only the cartoon film. 🤣 DH won't watch such things and I never seem to get tv time on my own.
@feliznavidad2 is it a week the results take? Sunny here today too and much better than yesterday!
@DKDK123 funny isn't it? I couldn't sleep at the beginning but I'm OK now. I wake once, without fail, for a wee though. 🙄 Hopefully this pregnancy will be nothing like your last one!
@Vil10 the house sounds promising, if you like it. The right things come along eventually, you just have to be patient. Any that don't work out, just weren't meant to be!
@becarefuloutthere can you see a chiro when pregnant then? I was wondering what you could and couldn't do as I'm terrible anyway with my back and later on, I can see it being an issue. I hope it helps you!

Minster2012 · 09/01/2022 12:26

@paintfairy @becarefuloutthere the emma Watson one! Have seen it before & wanted something really "nice" to watch, @paintfairy I get lots of time on my own in the winter 🔫

I had to have scar revision surgery on my abdo scar as it got infected & came apart, it was the most grim thing ever packing it daily 🤢🤮

@feliznavidad2 the yoga sounds great & I hope the chiropractor helps @becarefuloutthere do you have pics of the nursery?

DH back now & I'm relieved of toddler duty for a lie down, after a quickie which has ruined the fresh bedding & sheets I put on 😡

paintfairy · 09/01/2022 13:27

@Minster2012 🤣 Be thankful! Although we never get it on the sheets, I have to admit and we aren't careful. Funny isn't it? When DH does go out and I look for things to watch i can never find anything! I should note them down.

Baby names. This makes me angry, I've decided. 🤣 So- knowing it'll be a chore, I'm already looking. Since I can't buy anything. 😆 Because I decided if I have a list early enough, I can look back at the list when the time comes and I'll instantly dislike some and there'll only be a couple that are actually possibilities. I have mostly been scrolling for boys names (since I had zero clue). I also downloaded the baby name app where you swipe and agree with your partner, if they do it too, a bit like tinder.
Anyway, I've come to the conclusion that whilst there are 6 million names or whatever, most on the list aren't really usable. The ones that are - are all pretty common. And I don't want common! I finally found a boys name i actually like, and as I did so, I naively was thinking- that can't be popular. Clearly forgetting someone famous has used it in the last so many years and of course, it is. But also our, plucked out the air, favourite girls name is equally popular. 😭 Raaarrr. I really didn't want anything common. But finding possibilities seems bloody impossible full stop, even taking out that issue. Girls names i think are a bit easier and you can be a bit more creative with. I can find more i like at least. But jeez......

Minster2012 · 09/01/2022 14:54

We are clearly still not masters of the no lake spermo @paintfairy 🤪

Ah names....the really frustrating part of having a baby! Most of us, and our friends found a girls name easier than boys. If someone famous has used it in the past few years I wouldn't worry, only if really recent (for example when naming X we had Louie on the very shortlist, then Prince Louie came along right before him so we were like 🤔 that's off then as it was too close to not go "well we thought if it first!") I've not tried the name tinder thing, not needed for us!

Sausage1990 · 09/01/2022 15:02

Hi everyone - I hope you're all doing okay

I hope you don't mind me popping by and with a bit of a self promotion message, but I wanted to let you know I'm having a small sale over on my sewing Instagram page and I've got a fair few newborn bits for sale. I was wondering if you would be so kind as to pop over and have a look? There's absolutely no pressure to buy anything, especially as I know not everyone can spend money at this time of year, but any likes, comments or shares (with a tag to my page) would be really appreciated.

I'm trying to build my following/customers but as I don't have regular access to the mum world yet I thought I'd drop the side car a little message 😊

I think of you all often, and so wish I was still with you all in the bumps & babies list, but here's hoping that 2022 will let me stay with you next time 😉

becarefuloutthere · 09/01/2022 15:44

@feliznavidad2 sounds good! I was looking into it too but they're all fully booked round by me or clash with Nct as I can only do evenings really. Gonna look again once mat leave starts.
@paintfairy yeah my friend did it twice in her pregnancies so I'm hoping it's ok 🙈 will keep you posted!
@Minster2012 I enjoyed that version too! I listen to the beauty n beast sleep story 😆
Nursery is not finished yet but here's a sneak peak for ya...
Haha boo to the wet patch on fresh sheets, the worst!! Hope the bonk was worth the sheets?!
@Sausage1990 I follow you on Insta hun so will make sure I check out your shop soon! I hope you'll be bk with us again soon 😘

paintfairy · 09/01/2022 16:30

@Sausage1990 will keep an eye out!
@becarefuloutthere looks fab!
Which reminds me, I keep meaning to ask. How many of us on here are IVF people? And of those, does anyone know what they are having? I'm only aware of @Crazydoglady123 and what she's having, but not anyone else?

paintfairy · 09/01/2022 16:54

@Minster2012 re names. Its a disaster if someone famous uses your name, right before your baby is born. Bloody people. And yeah it kind of makes it impossible. But it made this one popular so it's still in the top 20. But I'm struggling to find anything (either sex) I like that's not popular. I suppose it doesn't matter, its just that I love having a non-popular name and I've never met many. Which is better than keep turning around constantly thinking people are shouting to you, and they aren't. 🤣

paintfairy · 09/01/2022 17:45

@clolo oh good! Knocks out my theory that they all seem to be boys. 🤣 The only ones I know IRL are.

Juno231 · 09/01/2022 17:54

@Minster2012 ooh prince Louis has made me put Louis back on the list tbh! @paintfairy I know what you mean though - I decided on Freya years ago and now it's in the top 20, OH loved Arthur but it's in the top 20 post peaky blinders popularity etc. Our other names are a bit too posh for us to feel entirely comfortable pulling the trigger lol. We REALLY need to know the sex to narrow this down.

@Sausage1990 I'll have a peak tonight!

@becarefuloutthere aaah I'm so jealous you're getting to do a nursery ❤️.

@vil10 that house sounds like it was meant to be! I hope you love it and that you can get it for a good price! Def factor in no estate agent fees for the seller as a selling point 😁

Done 16k steps today in the sun and have got a divine ragu simmering away for dinner. Looking forward to a bit of David Attenborough tonight as well!

paintfairy · 09/01/2022 18:25

@Juno231 ah, that's where Arthur came from! Yeah some names it's like you liked them for ages and they were never popular and now you want to use them, bam.

I'm looking forwards to Vera tonight! 🥳
DH is in a dick mood and I might launch him out of the window....... Maybe Vera will give me some tips.....

becarefuloutthere · 09/01/2022 18:54

@paintfairy thank you 😊 we have grey wallpaper with animals holding balloons for the wall opposite and will get a colourful rug down and rocking chair. We have some animal prints coming this week and her name in dark grey wood to come to go above her cot. I'm excited to see the finish, I'd like it done before she comes so it's one less thing to think about as we're still decorating the house. Be garden next as that's bare!
So you know I'm ivf and also having a girl. Are you trying to work out the likelihood of having a girl too 😂 it's looking likely based on us on here!
My baby name is slowly falling out of favour, it was just within the top 30, it's now just out of it. Fine by me!
@Juno231 do you think you'll be moved by time baby comes or no plans to as yet? Sounds like a productive day, well done 👏🏾 I've finally sorted through the two bags of clothes my friend gave me and gave a bag to my mum to wash. Be good to get more clothes away, this baby will feel like she's on the catwalk in her first 9 months of life 😂

bez91 · 09/01/2022 19:06

@Vil10 fab news on the house, routing for you that this is the one 🤞🏼hopefully it lives up to your expectations when you view it!

@feliznavidad2 feel you on the weather impacting your mood, I'm the same and the dark mornings and evenings! Hope you enjoyed the butterfly place. How long do you expect to wait for the results of the NIPT?

@DKDK123 is it mainly the bleeding then you need to look out for this time or any other symptoms you need to be mindful of? Good they seem to have it under close watch with regular appointments. I've had my appointment through for growth scans starting from 28 weeks, they initially said 24 but I'm not too concerned so will just roll with the next appointment.

@Minster2012 I feel absolutely fine now, like I could kill off a marathon walk, I just want to stretch my legs and cabin fever is unreal! Are you feeling any better?

@paintfairy @Juno231 @Minster2012 we've had a name chat today. Girls certainly easier than boys 🤦🏼‍♀️ I don't really enjoy the name choosing part 😆
I have a Freya @Juno231 weirdly she is the only one I know of her age but I know it's in the top 100

Looks lovely @becarefuloutthere 🥰 one less thing to think about if you can get it done before baby arrives. We didn't have the luxury with DD so I'm going to try and be super prepared this time.

Thanks ladies, made the most of the peace and had a productive morning cleaning whilst DH played mum at the princess party and then fell asleep on the sofa this afternoon whilst DH cooked a roast so I've almost forgiven him for giving me covid

DKDK123 · 09/01/2022 19:54

@minster2012 Lake spermo on fresh sheets is never good. I've found myself deliberately avoiding sex the day I put fresh sheets on for that reason 😂 Hope it was worth it tho 😉

@paintfairy I'm the total opposite with names, I hated having an unusual name growing up and constantly having to tell people how to pronounce it, never having your name on things in the shop as a kid and constantly hearing the phrase for every new person you meet 'ooh that's unusual isn't it' 🤦‍♀️ so I opted for as plain and simple a name as I could with DS to save him the grief. Relieved he's also picked a plain name for his sister. But cheek on the famous person using the unusual name you wanted and turning it popular, how dare they 😂

Good to hear you've been busy with your sewing @Sausage1990, I'll go have a nosey.

Nursery's coming along nicely @becarefuloutthere it'll make it all seem even more real, I remember before DS was born just sitting in the nursery many a night trying to imagine that in a few months a baby would be there 😊

@juno231 impressive step count, go you! I'm majorly struggling with my steps these days, any more than 3miles and I spend the rest of the day in absolute agony with my back.

@bez91 any bleeding I've to go straight to hospital (technically supposed to phone an ambulance as I'm high risk of severe hemorrhaging and a smaller bleed can be a sign a big one is on the way, but I never did with DS I just went there by car). But also ended up with severe pre eclampsia too so I've to look out for signs of that again like headaches, blurred vision, swelling etc Only last time I got none of those symptoms at all and they were baffled as to why, they kept saying are you SURE you're not getting any headaches or vision disturbances at all as your levels are really high! But I was none the wiser it was only showing thru my urine and BP so I was monitored round the clock and my kidneys were failing too so had to pee in a measuring bowl and log how much output I had every day ......glamorous 😂 The hemorrhaging they're very much expecting to happen again this time round, the pre eclampsia there's a higher chance of getting it if you've had it before but I might not get it so hoping I at least skip that this time round! When's your 28 week growth scan coming up? I'm sure you can milk it a bit longer making DH pay for giving you covid, dont get officially well too soon, lie on the couch for a few more days while he runs after you 😉

Minster2012 · 09/01/2022 20:47

@becarefuloutthere that looks fab & the plans for the remainder too! The bonk was worth it & tbh it was a bit weird kissing him as I've been full of cold for months now then he had it now back to me so barely kissed him recently, I was nice to have a good old snog 💋 😂

@paintfairy yeah that's not ideal then, I've always loved the name Rowan but can't use it, there's a few like that for me. When we had Xander our name discussions went round in circles, DH kept suggesting "traditional names" (Thomas that kind of thing) and there's so many been used in his family (all boys) so I would counter with something more unusual & we'd not get very far but we kept coming back to X so stuck to that. We agreed a girls name quite quickly & atm we are going to use that one for this baby. I still love Louie/Louis @Juno231, & Freya is lovely, I love Fern too but DH hates, and we often have the conversation about "is it too posh/too up itself to use/too try hard?" (You could say that about our choice for instance) There's a girls name we both love but feel it's a bit TOO FAR! 🥰did you get a NIPT booked?

@paintfairy I was going to say @becarefuloutthere is another ivf girl...
I tried to watch an older Vera last night then switched to beauty & the beast, I needed something less brain challenging & "dark"

OMG @Sausage1990 had a quick look & will check out again tomorrow when not tired, so beautiful 😍

@bez91 im feeling better thanks just exhausted atm, I don't think you should forgive him just yet 😂but I'm pleased you feel like you could do a marathon, I feel I could Maybe do a stroll & that still seems tiring 😂

@bez91 @DKDK123 do you have another midwife appointment coming up? I've not heard on another one since my 16 week but my midwife said she was leaving after Xmas & they'll be someone new so I don't know if I'm due one & it's been missed to be booked in? I have other things like scans & rhesus D at 28 weeks but nothing before? I'm 21 weeks now

Sausage1990 · 09/01/2022 21:17

Thanks for your support ladies! Means alot. I've got so many gorgeous fabrics coming up and I'll let you know once I've revamped my Etsy so you can take a look.

If you do want anything, have a look at my revamped Etsy but then message me on Instagram for a slightly cheaper price. I've popped a few quid on the Etsy store to cover the costs that Etsy take for selling via them.

Xxxx

DKDK123 · 10/01/2022 04:23

@Minster2012 yea you should have another one soon. I've got my scan today and normal midwife appointment next week. I'm sure it's between 21-24weeks midwife appointment you get your MATB1 form for maternity leave, free dental care etc. So if they don't contact you in the next week I'd chase it up.

Juno231 · 10/01/2022 09:21

@bez91 bloody love Freya and it would link really well to my Scando background. It's been in the top 20 for the last couple of years I think? I think I saw three MN women say it was their daughters name on the same day of reading random crap. Maybe I should go for it anyway. I used to consider Astrid an option as well but the office made me realise English speakers are prone to pronouncing it Ass turd 😂

@Minster2012 yes exactly, there are names we really like but that people will def just roll their eyes over lol. I love X though and I'm impressed your OH didn't enforce it as Alexander!

@DKDK123 Christ i hope this pregnancy is nothing like your last one - sounds like so much went wrong!

@becarefuloutthere we've been in this house since late Oct 2020 but it needs complete renovations. All the approvals have taken all of 2021 for us to get though and we never did sell the flat to fund the work plus all material costs have gone up at least 30% so god knows if we manage to get started this summer! In the mean time we carry on living like squatters and save money 😅

Minster2012 · 10/01/2022 09:44

@Sausage1990 will def take a closer look in a bit, the pink flowers are lovely!

@Juno231 we might get some eye rolls 😜but don't care! Alexander was never an option actually even for DH cos there are 3 Alexander's already in his family (one nn Sandy, one nn Alex & the other Alexander) so he wasn't keen, my brother is Alec & my friend who carried him has an Alex/Al who is Alexander so we said we'd have never ever used Alexander so what was the point!? But we just couldn't think of any other name that was quirky but not too out there so we just went with it. There is someone in the village that's always asks "how's Alexander" & a relative who say "Zarnnnnder" as opposed to how we say "Zanda" so we think you'll always get ppl who get it wrong & we don't care 🤷🏼‍♀️ maybe not Assturd though!! I only know one Freya.

@DKDK123 I've just checked that you & have one booked for mid week 23 they just failed to tell me 🙄

DS said on Friday baby sister should be called Holly. I think he's been watching too much "Ben & Holly". Another to bear in mind

feliznavidad2 · 10/01/2022 10:35

Haha @Minster2012 Atleast DS has not suggested Bluey... I'm waiting for ours to suggest Thanos, or Captain America as an ideal name once he knows.

@Juno231 Love scandi names here, DS has a lovely one but it's a bit outing as not v common.

Will have a look @Sausage1990

@bez91 a rest on the sofa whilst OH cooks sounds ideal.

NIPT results are due back on/by Wednesday. @paintfairy Trying to be patient but would love them to ring up with them sooner.

larrythelizard · 10/01/2022 10:40

Had a weekend off my phone to try and make my headache go away (ok yesterday but back today) so just catching up...

Happy Birthday @bez91 - hope you're free?!

You're giving me hope @paintfairy that you started feeling better after 9 weeks...! I'm also dreading names, was hard enough first time round! If it's a girl that'll be easy but boy will be hard, although I have broken my cardinal rules and let myself start thinking about it and there are a couple of boys names I like but my sister and two close friends are due before me (all being well) so there's not really much point thinking about it yet...!

Also @paintfairy top 20 doesn't necessarily mean popular where you are, like for example I've only come across one Oliver in recent times and that's super popular according to the lists (in contrast there's a few Percy's and a few Otto's around). There are charts on that somewhere online...

Ooh @Vil10 that house sounds like it could be very positive news 🤞🏼 - maybe he'd even do a private sale to you and then not have to pay estate agent fees aka no competition?

Oh I want to go to a butterfly place @feliznavidad2 - the thought of a mask in a hot steamy place has put me off for the last little while though!

I know it's hard to remember but all pregnancies are different @DKDK123 so try and think positive, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Nursery looking good @becarefuloutthere

OP posts:
paintfairy · 10/01/2022 10:57

@becarefuloutthere oh I didn't realise you were having a girl. I couldn't remember if you knew. And then the nursery photos weren't obvious. 🤣 That's good. At first I did feel I had a preference but I can think of pros and cons to both to be honest and I'm not bothered too much what it is, as long as its healthy. But I do want to feel there's an equal chance, like with normal pregnancy!
@DKDK123 I suppose there's unusual and unusual? Mine isn't that odd no one would have heard of it or knows how to pronounce it. Odd people spell it wrong mind. I wouldn't name a baby something too strange! Yours isn't strange though, but I admit i don't think I've heard it before.
@Minster2012 we don't seem to have kissed for ages. DH seems to favour dtd from behind (having said that it's easier too in many ways) and we don't seem to do it generally any more? Odd. Yet I like it and find it a turn on mostly. Unless he's got spiky stubble....... I like Holly and its on my shortlist. But I'm not sure if it's a bit boring.
@Juno231 Ass-turd? How do they get that? I would pronounce it Ass-trid? I like that actually. And material costs are a bloody pain!
@feliznavidad2 hopefully they'll come before Wednesday! Horrible thing to wait for but I'm sure it's fine. I need to price some up though in case the same thing happens at my scan! Next job...... And the first pony i ever rode was called Bluey. 🤣
@larrythelizard you are correct with the area thing. But I'm not sure how I'd know that? I don't know any babies/toddlers at all! Bar 2 Freddies, otis, arlo, not really helpful! I can check out kids over 5 in a way, but I'll struggle with under 5.
