As I'm avoiding doing any of the useful stuff I should be doing I thought I'd just pop another sidecar up x

Oh and forgot to add, lots of touching of the bump today at work 🙄 Think it's because it's became massively more pronounced in the two weeks I was off so everyone was like ooh look how big you've gotten while touching it. Only people don't just touch your bump they seem to rub it like you're some lucky buddah statue or something 🤦‍♀️ I don't mind the work colleagues touching as much as random old ladies, at least I know work colleagues are doing it from a place of excitement as they're all eager to meet this little one too and constantly asking for updates on how it's going.......but still surely you can be excited and not touch! 😂

bez91 · 06/01/2022 07:30

Yes @Juno231 great progress on cancelling appointments and booking new ones, must believe now 😁

@paintfairy I'm going to pop into Smyths when I'm free and look at the cheaper 360 car seats so will let you know! I didn't get a change table last time as we were practically living in 1 room whilst renovating but I think I might this time as a result of bad back and knees last time round so see if they're worth it which a lot of people do

@becarefuloutthere that's annoying as it seems pointless in most cases that LMP is relevant! Laughing at your psycho-ness over changing the due date 😂

@DKDK123 you're right it's always a rub like a Buddha 😂 I think some people genuinely cannot help it!

I feel like I've hit a milestone today, never ever had a day off sick at work since starting work at 17. Powered through this week with people ringing me all day, firing emails on the laptop whilst also doing playdoh these last few days WFH with covid and DD and do feel a lot better than I did but can no longer juggle and mentally spent so sick day it is 😬

Minster2012 · 06/01/2022 07:31

Oh wow they look good @Sunbird24 I think you need more than 2 boxes 😂

@larrythelizard that's exactly how I feel, my cough is back to the point I slept in the spare room again last night but all negative so 🤷🏼‍♀️. I'm sure the other ladies have it covered but our due date from ivf turned out a couple of days different to that calculator so it's a good way to work it out for your friend 🤞🏻

@paintfairy honestly you'll work out childcare fine I'm sure, it's one of those things that s difficult to plan for until it's here so maybe just worry DH (who still sounds pretty scared still) about the other stuff you need! I think he needs a softly softly approach 😂. On the changing station thing with drawers, personally I'd say it's a definite for a high level one. We have one with X's furniture which he now uses as just drawers for his clothes so it's still in use today. We also made a make shift "changing station" downstairs on top of some normal drawers so we had one upstairs and one downstairs.

@becarefuloutthere I was also like that about our due date as they wanted to put it back 2 days & I was like NO, we know when it was put in ffs 😩I think we should do a pickled onion eating championship

Date night @DKDK123 and a child free day sounds lush right now (mine DOING MY NUT IN) but not sure glossing is the way forwards pregnant??? Omg on the stroking I honestly would step backwards I can't do it I'm afraid 😬

DKDK123 · 06/01/2022 07:40

@bez91 take a well deserved and rightly called for guilt free couple of days off, work will survive without you and you've got that previous bundle inside to think about too. I would say rest up but with DD rest is probably off the cards so lighten the load and forget about work.

@Minster2012 unfortunately painting is just one of those jobs I can only get done when DS isn't here, tried it before with him in the house supposedly occupied with something else and it was a disaster 🙈 As child free days are a rarity I need to make the most of it, I'll just take it slowly doing little bits at a time in-between resting and have all the windows open to ventilate.

Minster2012 · 06/01/2022 07:52

@DKDK123 yeah totally understand that but you make sure you do go slowly & with lots of ventilation as glossing is a nightmare anyway

@paintfairy cheapest time to buy Xmas clothing is in the sales 🤣though it could be a big hit and miss on the sizing

larrythelizard · 06/01/2022 09:05

Thanks @paintfairy @Sunbird24 @Minster2012 - I think she's 2 or 3 weeks ahead of me then which is good.

@DKDK123 excellent work shipping off the child. We might see if the in-laws want DS a night a week whilst I'm feeling so rough...want to get through the early scan first though. Ergh, gloss is the worst kind of painting!

@bez91 I think a couple of days off sick will be OK - you're juggling A LOT!

Happy to watch the pickled onion eating championship @Minster2012, would be a good race!

@clolo my Sainsbury's have these in the fridge section www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/polish/polish-specialities-gherkins-in-brine-700g and my local Polish shop tends to have a barrel of self serve gherkins as well 😆. The latter are nicer but pricier 🤷.

@Sunbird24 got everything crossed for you today 🤞❤️

Vil10 · 06/01/2022 11:44

@Minster2012 she's so excited and I'm so happy she can be there for at least one!! Your Xmas outfits on insta has made me all warm inside🥰

@feliznavidad2 I'm athletic and active but not flexible in the slightest, I can't even touch my toes😂 how did it go the yoga?? Your baby is being a trouble maker already by the sounds of it but glad they managed to get them and hopefully this next week will fly by🤞🏼

@Crazydoglady123 that's such good news!! And hope something is happening🤞🏼

@Sunbird24 it's at 1:30 so not too bad!! Good luck today, I'll be thinking of you❤️

@becarefuloutthere so glad you had a nice time!! Ooo that's a late one, I'm such a granny on a week night, I hate going anywhere thst ruins my routine or has me in bed late😂

@DKDK123 date night sounds lovely!! Oooo glossing is the devil!!

@bez91 you enjoy your sick day and rest!! You need it!!

All this talk about childcare and being back at work etc and I haven't even properly thought about it🙄 I mean we have an idea, how the holidays lie with my due date I'll be off from July 2022-September 2023, then I'll probably go back part time 2/3 days a week, baby will go to grandparents 1 day and nursery for 1 (will start off as half day though) then obviously I'll gradually increase as child gets older, but my mum will definitely want a day or 2 with the child, and I've already told my mum (as she's my boss too😂) that I'll permanently be having fridays off, OH only works till 12 on Fridays and I want that to be a day we can go and do something fun like swimming or a day out! OH gets lots of childcare benefits from work and vouchers so I've told him he could do with looking into those over in the next few months! However, opening a nursery has always been in the pipeline with me and my mum so maybe with having 1 of my own, it'll be the perfect time?? Who knows, I'll focus on that next year😂

Minster2012 · 06/01/2022 12:19

Thought I was really smug, dog walk completed by new preschool run drop off, morning's work now completed before 12.30 school pick up. 🙌🏻
HOWEVER. A fail I just realised as school just phoned whilst typing this & if he wasn't provided with a packed lunch he should have been picked up at 12, 12.30 if having lunch. Damn it 😂😂I also sent him in really bright clothes as he basically has nothing plain 🌈😜oooooops

I'm also in the "not flexible in the slightest camp" so keen to see how the yoga went @feliznavidad2

@Vil10 I honestly don't think you need to worry about childcare yet, unless you do have plans to open that nursery! It'll sort itself out but do get OH to look into the stuff he gets & your Fridays sounds lovely 😊

@Juno231 I'm so jealous of a self service barrel of gherkins 😂

Not sure I could do the pickled onion 🧅 eating contest today. Feeling pretty sick 😷 & coughing last night, not coughing today. I want a sofa afternoon, do we think DS will allow this?? Highly doubtful

Was anyone else classed as CEV previously? I've received this text from nhs yesterday about another booster?? Anyone had the same?

Sunbird24 · 06/01/2022 13:55

Just about to go in and an old friend has just posted pictures of his little boy born at 1030 today in the hospital up the road! 🥰

paintfairy · 06/01/2022 13:55

@becarefuloutthere 🤣 That made me laugh. I actually refused to even give mine and just brushed past it. Obviously with all the downreg my lmp is irrelevant. It annoys me how tick boxy everything is. 🙄
@DKDK123 ah that's useful if everything is pretty much standard size. I was thinking it might all be different and a complete pain in the arse. So getting new ones should be easy enough then. I think working full time probably depends on your job. I know a teacher and she went down to 3 days a week too. I'm lucky in that I work flexi time, and now fully from home. Even after covid (if that's ever a thing) there isn't enough office space for people to go in more than once a week. I don't really speak to people on the phone often and work isn't too pressured. I don't manage anyone or have extra stresses. So I think I might manage 5 days a week (assuming childcare can be sorted). It would be different if I had to go out to work every day though and rush around for specific times, with a stressful job. A changing station is a good idea then, hadn't thought about the c-section angle, but my back is crap. 🤣 Date night sounds great! Sometimes yes, you have to have a blow up and resolve things to have good times. 😁
Omg. Nooooo. Bump rubbing. 🤮 I'm with @Minster2012 on that. It would freak me out. I suppose touching is equally weird, because if you don't rub, you are just kind of poking at it? 🤣 But I think I'd have a meltdown. I remember one birthday at work, a bloke we worked with (I knew him, he came on our work 'friends' nights out) thought it would be funny to come over and hug me at my desk. He knew I'd hate it. I saw him coming and with windmill arms I was also shouting get away from me, get away from me, get away from me. 🤣 Seemed perfectly normal to me at the time and the people that know me (were laughing) wouldn't have expected anything else. But I work in an open plan office and lots of people were giving very strange looks. 🤣 So I honestly can't imagine the bump thing? Luckily I won't see work people likely. But I can honestly say in my whole entire life I've never touched anyones bump?! Touching your own is fine. That is it! 😆
@bez91 I will be interested to see what you think to them! I'm slowly getting together a list. 🤣
@Vil10 my mum's enthusiasm is starting to concern me. I think taking her for a scan would be massive error. 🤣 I think they'd happily just have mine full time if I let them! 🙈
@minster2012 so did you have to rush and collect X? 🤣 Oops.
@Sunbird24 🤞🤞

Right, I have one more question about big stuff, and then I'll go away for a while. Promise. 🤭 Sleeping. Where do babies sleep?! There seems to be so many options - cots, cribs, moses baskets, side sleepers......
One baby can't sleep everywhere?! So what do most people do? I imagine different things work for different people but I'm guessing no one affords to buy it all. So what works best?

@paintfairy @Minster2012 I can't wait to have my bump touched 😆. And I was very touchy with my friends' bumps lol.

I'm thinking a snuzpod type thing (second hand) for when it's in my room and then a cot in the nursery (if we ever do renovate the house). I wanted to buy the angelcare baby bath support thing that Aldi has on offer this week but thinking about it I might not have a bathtub still by the time we have the baby 😅. I might just have to get it one of those flower mats (pic)

@Sunbird24 🤞🤞🤞

Sorry, bad news from me again. Nice looking little baby, but measuring a week behind and no visible heartbeat. I’ve to call the EPU in the morning to try and get in for a procedure asap in light of the dramatic nature of my last two MCs… Going to drive home now for a good cry.

paintfairy · 06/01/2022 15:01

@Sunbird24 oh no. I'm so sorry, that's terrible. I honestly don't know what to say, its actually made me really sad. Its so very unfair. 😔
Hugs to you xxx 💐💐💐

Minster2012 · 06/01/2022 15:16

@Sunbird24 I'm so so sorry 😢 there are no words, can anyone come be with you? This is so cruel 😔

Ltay2 · 06/01/2022 15:51

I'm so glad there's a sidecar and I can nosey on you all here too 😜 I'm still attempting to keep up with the main thread but I so love reading this one and seeing all the positive news 😭❤️

All of the sickness and random smells is bringing back memories 😂 I convinced myself the mince we'd bought was off, OH went to buy more, thought that one was off too. Obviously it wasn't it just STANK 🤢🤮 he wasn't best pleased at the wasted journey to Tesco hahaha.

My little chunky is 10 months old next week, can you believe it 🤯 he's now properly crawling and pulling himself on everything. Loves a chew on the table and anything else he shouldn't be chewing, and generally just being a menace. I've come to work today for a break and he's terrorising Grandma instead.
