As I'm avoiding doing any of the useful stuff I should be doing I thought I'd just pop another sidecar up x

@Sunbird24 I'm so sorry I posted before I fully caught up, feeling very insensitive now. 💔

SWAttempting · 06/01/2022 16:05

@Sunbird24 I am so sorry 😞

Today is not a good day but us, but yours is definitely worse than ours.

Kate105 · 06/01/2022 16:20

Oh @Sunbird24 I'm so sorry ❤️❤️❤️

Mad few days here so struggling to catch up! However, key points as follows:

TSD = The Sleep Demon @Justanothercyster 😂 he's an absolute menace although we only had 2 wake ups last night for the first time in over a week and I feel amazing haha. Also slept in to 6:30 which is excellent. Vast improvement. However we have gone back to one arm out of swaddle because two is far too exciting 🤦🏼‍♀️ and he fell asleep each time last night with me leaning over to pin down the party arm until he was out 😂😂😂

Sidebar to the pickle chat... Lime pickle is sent from heaven ❤️❤️❤️

Please sign me up for H babysitting service. Last night he did an oven tea (bought by me and gave him instructions as he put it on while I was pinning TSD's party arm down). We sat down and his question was "does this count as cooking?" DOES IT SHITE

bez91 · 06/01/2022 16:52

I'm so so sorry @Sunbird24 that's so shitty and cruel and you don't deserve this pain ❤️

whatwonder · 06/01/2022 17:02

larrythelizard · 06/01/2022 17:52

Oh @Sunbird24 I'm so gutted for you, devastating news

Juno231 · 06/01/2022 19:55

@Sunbird24 I've been so angry for you all day today, couldn't even bring myself to write anything. I'm so sorry, it's proper shit :( big hugs and I hope you've got someone with you right now xxx

@ltay2 he's so gorgeous, I can't believe he's 10 months old already ❤️ tell us more - what's his favourite thing right now?

Ltay2 · 06/01/2022 20:23

@Juno231 I know it seems to have gone so fast but yet can't imagine life without him now. Although I do miss being able to sleep/get up/wee/eat whenever I like and not just whenever is convenient 😂 despite his troubled early start with the milk allergy saga he is such a happy boy and sleeps quite well. He goes to bed after his bath at around 6.30, falls asleep drinking his bottle, we get him up for an extra bit of milk and nappy change at 10, he then sleeps til around 3/3.30 has some more milk and is up for the day anywhere between 5.15 and 6.30. If someone had told me that would be our sleep routine before he was here I would have thought it impossible to maintain but it's our normal now and I'm grateful for any sleep I get after spending the first two months of his life sitting downstairs holding him from midnight til 6am after just a 2 hour sleep myself. He loves going to nursery on a Friday, he's only one of three in the baby room so gets a lot of attention and loves watching the bigger boys and what they're playing. He LOVES watching the fish in our big tank and has started trying to grab them through the glass and chattering away to them in his own little language. Tbh there isn't much he doesn't like at the moment, other than being taken away from something he's playing with, and it's usually only because I don't want him to electrocute himself so excuse me for not letting you chew on wires young sir 🙄

Kirky658 · 06/01/2022 20:47

@sunbird24 I am so so sorry x

Haiyaa · 06/01/2022 20:49

I’m so so sorry @Sunbird24, is there any hope at all? If it is a miscarriage I hope at the very least it isn’t as dramatic as the previous ones. Take care of yourself ❤️

@DKDK123 I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels like that about my section, we can’t both be bonkers right?! I think it’s just a mother’s instinct.

@paintfairy can highly recommend the next to me, that’s what we used until 6/7 months and then into cot in their own room.

That flower is so cute @Juno231! We have the angelcare seat, it’s really good although for the first few baths she just went in with DH as apparently they like the support and skin to skin.

Kirky658 · 06/01/2022 20:50

On the beds front - Alice had a moses basket but if she was a normal sized baby she would only have slept in it for 4 weeks max I reckon! Now we've got a hauck dreamer rocker crib got second hand and it is brilliant. It folds up and you can carry it downstairs, it's a lifesaver. Also if you have got a pram travel system the carrycot is a great downstairs during the day sleeping option x

Haiyaa · 06/01/2022 20:51

Oh and @Minster2012 I had read that the immunocompromised (so not necessarily all under the CEV group) are recommended a 3 dose primary course as they may not be as effective as developing the antibodies so would make sense there are 4 jabs in total. I’ll see if I can find any guidance.

Haiyaa · 06/01/2022 20:57

www.rcplondon.ac.uk/guidelines-policy/covid-19-vaccination-people-who-are-severely-immunosuppressed-third-primary-dose

Yep, three primary then a booster for severely immunocompromised - I would check with your consultant if you’re not sure you meet the criteria @Minster2012

Juno231 · 06/01/2022 21:20

@Kirky658 good point re the pram carry cot thing!

I will say, my belly button scar from the laparoscopy still feels quite itchy and very tight - I do sometimes worry how it will fare once I get a bump 🤔

Juno231 · 06/01/2022 21:21

@Ltay2 aw I love that he chats to the fishies 🥰 he sounds adorable. How much longer do you have left of your mat leave?

Vil10 · 06/01/2022 21:33

@Sunbird24 oh I'm so so sorry!! Life can be so cruel sometimes!! Sending you so much love, you don't deserve this!❤️

Minster2012 · 06/01/2022 21:54

@Sunbird24 I hope you are as ok as you can be it's so horrible 💐

@Juno231 I've got a vertical scar going all the way down from under my rib cage to just above my pants line then another horizontal 2 inch scar on the right side and I had a chat with my consultant on Tuesday about then as they are now stretching, tight getting red & sore. They said that nothing can be done other than oils & they will stretch some but not as much and it will be fine. Not comfortable really but fine

@paintfairy DS slept in an ambibaby hammock (I think that was the brand), at night on my side of bed but separate ITSWIM. A Moses basket downstairs (mine & my brothers old one actually) lasted about 2 months & he was big but we did the heinous & booted DS out of our room at 6 weeks old into his room next door (with knowledge of HV & Midwives). Most of our friends used a sleepyhead. They say I need to, no idea why.

@Haiyaa thank you I think it might be cos obviously in 2020 I was time off chemo so don't know if it needs to apply now.

Ltay2 · 06/01/2022 21:57

@Kirky658 We had a snuzpod upstairs too, and we used the carrycot downstairs although he just contact naps anyway!

@Juno231 I went back early October and tbh I am loving being back at work and having some 'me' time (who knew work would feel like a break!!) and little man enjoys going to grandparents and nursery. He has me one day a week and OH one day a week too so it's nice for us to have our own time with him.

Minster2012 · 06/01/2022 22:03

@Ltay2 he's gorgeous

@Kate105 😂😂😂my husband would be the same "well I cooked" eerrrrrrr think not mate

Minster2012 · 06/01/2022 22:13

Also @Kate105 what is this lime pickle?? I feel it might be the condiment missing on my tray?!

Minster2012 · 06/01/2022 22:27

Abd last one I promise but @Kirky658 that story on your Insta made me laugh so much. He's living his best life 🐢🐢🐢

DKDK123 · 07/01/2022 03:59

@Minster2012 matalan have a good baby sale on at the moment if you haven't looked there yet. I got a couple of wee soft pram shoes in different sizes up to 9months for about £2.50 each. As kids are notorious for always losing one shoe I figured I wouldn't mind at that price! She'll mainly be in socks or barefoot but wee pram shoes are nice for going out special occasions. And I got some dresses for under £5 too.

@Vil10 if opening a nursery is something you'd like to do why not start off a bit smaller while your first is young and register to become a childminder. It'd save you on childcare fees and you could eventually expand into a nursery? One of my work colleagues became a childminder till her LO went to school for the very reason of saving on childcare fees while also earning. My house isn't big enough to do childminding or I'd seriously have considered it too.

@paintfairy on the sleep chat, for DS we had a small rocking crib (again 2nd hand with new mattress) beside my bed for the first 6months. I liked the rocking one as if he started to stir before feed time I could just lean across and gently rock it while still half asleep without having to get up. Down stairs we had a moses basket, it was actually one a friend bought us as a baby present, they cost a lot but I often seen them on market place too. Its a travel one so can fold up when you need space but good for taking places like grandparents house or if you go away. We liked it as grandparents have a nosey, over friendly dog that licks all the time and it's got a top mesh thing you can zip up if you're out of the room to make sure dog isn't in licking the baby while you're at the loo or something. Once DS was 6months he was in a normal cot in his room both for nights and daytime naps.

@ltay2 10months already that seems to have flown in! Uh oh the crawling stage where you now need eyes on the back of your head as they're no longer where you left them and usually into something they shouldn't be 😂 I remember someone saying to me when DS was born to treasure the newborn stage as that was the easy bit. I remember being so tired and thinking how the hell is this the easy bit!? But once they reached the moving stage I realised they were right. Newborns just eat, sleep & shit, they stay exactly where you left them once they're mobile you're definitely kept on your toes more! 😂

@minster2012 I had to Google the baby hammock thing as I hadn't heard of it before. I want one for me not baby, they look well comfy! 😂

Took me literally all day yesterday just to gloss 3 doors and their frames front to back as the smell of the gloss was making me feel sick so had to keep doing it in 15min bursts then going downstairs for 15 to escape the smell. It was one of those why did I ever start this jobs. DS comes back today and I'm now thinking why did I not just spend yesterday resting 🤦‍♀️

bez91 · 07/01/2022 07:36

On the sleep front @paintfairy we had a next to me cot in with us until DD was 6 months then had her proper cot in her room. We didn't have anything for downstairs but my friend is giving me a Moses basket mainly for the living room to stop DD constantly bugging the baby hopefully. I suppose that's one plus of a travel system that you have a carrycot though!

@DKDK123 glossing is the worst job, I don't envy you at all, definitely one of those jobs you wish you never started, is it done now? I've tried to get some paint delivered whilst we're in isolation for something to do when I feel ok but delivery is either expensive or a week away.

Pregnancy rage this morning, DH negative on day 6 so likely free tomorrow. My tests are now blazing dye stealers so feeling sorry for myself. He gave it me so his fault 🙈

Minster2012 · 07/01/2022 07:44

@DKDK123 yes I got a couple of Christmas vests from matalan the other day for £3...I did say don't do the glossing 😂

@bez91 damn him that's not fair

@Vil10 good luck for today, it may be mixed emotions atm but you'll have 2 lovely lots of support with you 😊🤞🏻

kaylsd · 07/01/2022 07:58

@sunbird24 I am truly sorry to hear what’s happened, sending you the biggest hugs and loves over to you, my inbox is open if you want to talk about anything, you are not alone we are here for you I’m heartbroken for you🥺💔
@larrythelizard I hope your feeling better soon ❤️😘
@DKDK123 I hope you enjoyed your child free glossing day! I wonder if touching a strangers bump gives you good fortune like a Buddha rub? I may start as it might give me good luck for all those years when I didn’t pass on chain emails to avoid the bogey man coming to get me or whatever random things they used to say 🤣🤣
@bez91 sometimes it’s good for you to have a sick day when you’ve powered through all that time through every single illness or time you could have spent off it! Rest up the best you can under the circumstances 😘 god damn your OH for sharing his lurges!
@minster2012 a lot of my oncology patients and patients who are immunosuppressive have received their 4th jab if that helps with anything? So I was aware it was circling around but not many have common knowledge with it :) I’m so jealous you had snow! We had a flurry when I was at work for about 5 minutes, very shortly lived :(
@juno231 how cute is that baby flower mat! Great news to see about your scan, so sorry it’s a few days behind! 😘❤️

Been abit quiet lady as I’ve been at work & bits and bobs being going off with home life, tried to do a mini check in best I can! Chippy dinner for me today to soothe my wounds of my car bill from MOT & service 🙃😖 finally got booked in for my midwife appointment! She rang and apologised for the mishap with my paperwork going missing, turns out the regular midwife is on long term sick and a new midwife has been stated in her post for continuity of the area so hopefully it’s a one off! I’ll be 10 weeks when the booking appointment is hopefully, still not having huge amount of symptoms, trying to stay relaxed about it best I can.. 🤞🏻
