I've heard most women say they had baby and were home within 24 hours or less but I'm FTM too so absolutely no idea! I'm an anxiety planner so it's worrying me not knowing how long I'll be in, I'm really trying to just relax and go with the flow! My mantra has been it'll happen how it happens hahaha xx

DecadeBCU · 11/11/2021 23:02

Just found the new thread!

Hope everyone is ok?

I am super uncomfortable at the min. Getting lots of leg cramps, especially at night and I also feel like my bump has dropped a little which is putting pressure on my pelvis and hips so they ache all the time.

I wrote my hospital bag list today but haven’t actually packed anything. I need to go and get snacks but not sure what to get really.

Seeing midwife tomorrow for 34 week appointment and I’m hoping we can start on some kind of birthing plan, although I am realistic to the fact it may not go to the plan I would like. As long as baby arrives safely, I’ll go with whatever is the best option.

Can’t remember who it was who said they were dizzy and having palpitations but just wanted to say have you had bloods checked? I had very similar symptoms around 20 weeks and turned out I was anaemic so maybe worth having iron levels checked.

Curlymam88 · 11/11/2021 23:50

@DecadeBCU hi, that would be me with the palpitations. Im on iron but it all seems to be getting worse not better.
I feel the same as you, feeling more movements down lower now, and restless legs and cramps have reappeared...and insomnia. Not long left now. Is what I keep saying to myself anyway.

jadey1991 · 12/11/2021 09:33

@DecadeBCU hope all is well with you.
I think my bump has dropped a lot too. Everyone is telling me baby will be here soon by the way I'm looking. I'm exhausted now, I just want the days to fly by. Haven't had a good nights sleep since I was 6 months pregnant as I have been dealing with achy legs (especially my left leg) my bottom half and hands swell up so badly.
I have my midwife appointment today in the next couple hours

Curlymam88 · 12/11/2021 10:03

@jadey1991 I know how you feel. Even though I know baby should stay in and cook as long as possible I dont see how I could manage 6 more weeks of this. Tiredness, aches etc its hard going. I have my scan later this afternoon too. Then my consultant appointment on Tuesday. Really hoping for a c section date then.
Hope ypur midwife appointment goes well

jadey1991 · 12/11/2021 13:05

Hey ladies had my midwife appointment today. Everything is fine. I am measuring 35 weeks. So I don't know what to go by.
Seems like I'm a week ahead of what I thought.
Did my birth plan. Xx

OP posts:
Curlymam88 · 12/11/2021 13:39

@jadey1991 ah wow so baby has grown since last time? How did she come to that? By bump measurement? You did say you felt like baby is coming sooner rather than later. How are ypu feeling now you've gone through birth plan with her? Are you still feeling anxious?

jadey1991 · 12/11/2021 13:52

@Curlymam88 yes hun she did bump measurement. I feel like shit today I didn't sleep well. My midwife noticed too. I feel okay. I'm planning on going to give birth on the birthing centre. I'm still defo feeling anxious. I spoke to midwife about it but I won't be able to have c-section unless I'm overdue. X

Curlymam88 · 12/11/2021 13:58

@jadey1991 so sorry you're feeling like crap. Im very up and down too. But just keep thinking to yourself we are almost there. Can you nap in the day you said? Does it help at all? Can women not just request a c section just because they want one? They need to have a reason? Thats a bit rubbish.

jadey1991 · 12/11/2021 14:26

@Curlymam88 my sleeping pattern hun isn't great at all I went bed at 1:30am and was up every hour because my legs are achy, need to run toilet or because of heartburn.. I can sleep in the day but I've still been struggling.. and apparently not.

OP posts:
Curlymam88 · 12/11/2021 14:32

Nothing worse than not getting any sleep. Only thing I can suggest for legs is a bath with magnesium salts and I also got this off amazon which I think has helped my restless legs. Might be worth a try and its not too expensive on amazon.

jadey1991 · 12/11/2021 14:33

@Curlymam88 thanks hun I think I might try it out. Hopefully it works. X

lovebeingmum9 · 12/11/2021 15:28

Hi ladies I'm feeling the same very tired, fed up,rubbish sleep, breathless and can't imagine another 5 weeks of this! But I remember thinking this with my 2nd and i even went 13days overdue! Wont be doing that again! lol And I shouldn't have opened my mouth about heartburn as last night I felt like I was on fire! 🥵
@jadey1991 glad your midwife app went well and you did your birth plan.....what kind of plan have you gone for? Also was going to suggest water bottle for legs.....hope something works for you!
@Curlymam88 I thought you could request a c section....I mean alot of celebrities opt for it because they like the certainty? (and I suppose to keep their designer vaginas) 😆
But I suppose medically its better for recovery to have a vaginal birth so only give out c sections freely if there's a really good reason x

jadey1991 · 12/11/2021 16:07

@lovebeingmum9 hey hun, I've opt for birthing centre. If everything goes smoothly and baby and I are well then we will be able to leave with a 6 hour discharge gap. And I've tried hot water bottle girl. Lol.

OP posts:
Curlymam88 · 12/11/2021 16:21

@jadey1991 have you tried a cold water bottle? In the summer when I had restless legs id fill a water bottle with water and put it in the freezer then take it out for bed and it be nice and cool. Dont know if thats an option now the weather is loads cooler. I hate this cold weather.
I'm just waiting on my scan now at hospital.

lovebeingmum9 · 12/11/2021 16:40

@jadey1991 what made you choose a birth centre and have you given birth there previously? Just curious as I didn't even really know what a birth centre was and never remember being offered or talked about it with mw etc....unless I assumed it was private or something?
@Curlymam88 good luck for your scan! I was going to say cold water bottle too....I could do with one myself I think as I seem baking hot in the night sometimes even though to touch out of covers I'm freezing cold lol

jadey1991 · 12/11/2021 17:04

@Curlymam88 oh no I haven't tried that. Maybe I could try it. Aww let us know how you get on hun x

OP posts:
jadey1991 · 12/11/2021 17:06

@lovebeingmum9 I've never tried it but I've worked on the birthing centre before and loads of new mums said it was the best. It's nice and relaxing there too.

OP posts:
jadey1991 · 12/11/2021 17:08

That's how it is and a bed is in there too so I have the option of having a water birth or on the bed

Just FYI, anyone can request a C-section there is a law about it (can’t remember what it is now) you obviously have to see the appropriate person to discuss all the risks etc. That consultant has the right to say no but they have to refer you to someone else and it just keeps going.

They literally cannot deny you from having one no matter what here in the UK.

I only know this because I’m currently going through it

jadey1991 · 12/11/2021 17:42

@LouLou0505 thanks for that hun but I'm not fussed to be honest.

Curlymam88 · 12/11/2021 17:57

Baby girl is weighing 6lb8 according to the scan. And her head is right under my ribs and its her feet that I can feel kicking away down in my vagine 🤣 not that it matters which position shes in for a c section. Hopefully.ill get my date Tuesday as baby is off 97th percentile now.

jadey1991 · 12/11/2021 18:04

@Curlymam88 aww what a lovely size. Glad all is well hun. Bless ya, ur getting kicked in your vagina that must feel uncomfortable..

OP posts:
Curlymam88 · 12/11/2021 18:12

@jadey1991 thank you. Feels like she's kicking me in the butt too. Weird feeling.

jadey1991 · 12/11/2021 18:25

@Curlymam88 aww bless you. Well at least like you said you are having a c-section so doesn't really matter position she is in. U must be so excited now tho. How many weeks you got left? X
