Well done ladies all done amazingly well! The different birth stories are super helpful to those of us still to go through it and shows how unique each ladies birth story is x
@burtle4 aw lovely...you've chose his name....Dexter 💙

SouthwestSis · 16/12/2021 11:35

Can I ask to ladies who already have their babies, what vitamins are you giving your babies?
I know they are supposed to have vitamin D.
If you are BF do you just take vit D as the mother, or does baby need vitamin drops too?

burtle4 · 16/12/2021 12:08

@lovebeingmum9, yes! It took ages, and Dexter wasn't even on our list but it was like a light bulb moment - that's his name!
@SouthwestSis I'm not giving him anything. I'm taking post birth vitamins and exclusively breast feeding so hoping he's getting everything he needs from me. Haven't been advised to give him anything else x

2020mission · 16/12/2021 12:44

@jadey1991 Josiah looks so different today he's gorgeous. Glad to hear you're getting home soon!

@burtle4 aww Dexter that didn't take you long to pick the name in the end! I've still not picked for our boy, we have one we are going to try for a few days when he's here and hopefully will decide on it quickly.

Can someone please give me some tips to get this little guy out naturally before the Christmas induction 😅

SouthwestSis · 16/12/2021 12:52

@burtle4 I have just checked the NHS website and looks like baby should be getting vitamin D drops even if you are BF and taking supplements
www.nhs.uk/conditions/baby/weaning-and-feeding/vitamins-for-children/

@2020mission i would say antenatal expressing and keeping active would be my top tips!

jadey1991 · 16/12/2021 13:20

@2020mission yes he sure does look better... he can eat... I can't believe how sore my nipples are now. 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

tuxedocat · 16/12/2021 16:24

@SouthwestSis I haven’t given either of my babies vitamins - I know when they start weaning they say but if im honest I never have done.

@2020mission I think I was in early labour for a few days, so keep busy, curb walking is supposed to be good, sex is also supposed to help as semen is the similar / same hormone they use to open the cervix I believe! That’s what the midwife told me to do ahead of my induction

SouthwestSis · 16/12/2021 17:53

Vitamin D is recommended from birth by the looks of it and can help protect against viral infections and is especially important in the winter months when there is less sunlight around, so I'm definitely gonna get some.

Apparently you can get vouchers for free vitamins from your health visitor if you're on a lower income too, win win!

jadey1991 · 16/12/2021 18:05

Yes I'm going to start baby on vitamin d.

cutejeans · 16/12/2021 18:07

Hi ladies, hope everyone's okay💞

My midwife said to me vitamin D is needed if breastfeeding to make sure baby is getting enough but not needed if formula feeding because they already get everything they need from that!

@2020mission have you heard of the 'miles circuit'? It's stretching exercises you can do that are meant to get baby into a good position & lower down in the cervix, I've only done it a couple of times but it is quite relaxing! Also orgasm & sex are meant to be the main things that help lol x

Theawkwardblonde · 16/12/2021 22:07

@jadey1991 very late but massive congratulations! ☺️☺️ hope you're recovering okay after the birth.

@JW2021 hey! Not due till the 29th so I've got a bit waiting to go unfortunately. Very fed up now.

Think it's just killing me as I'm impatient and it's my first. Sweep not booked until 39 weeks.

@cutejeans I'm suffering quite bad with sickness due to heartburn so I'm definitely done. Baby is almost fully engaged according to midwife, so I'm very sore in my pelvis too. Still no signs though 😂 how you doing?

@2020mission I second the welcoming of any tips for inducing..although I have literally tried everything I've recommended this last week. Other then giving myself lots of braxton hicks it's not helped 😂

jadey1991 · 16/12/2021 22:30

@Theawkwardblonde thank you hun.

Hope you're all doing well.

Anyone else awake?
I’ve had such a restless night, barely slept at all and just don't feel quite right. I was sick last night before I went to bed, but then woken up numerous times feeling either sick or ravenous and with a continued pain over my bump.

Have given up trying to get comfortable in bed and moved to the sofa! Just feeling generally unwell - hopefully it’s a good sign!

Exmoorkatie86 · 17/12/2021 06:27

Yes I’m awake - I’ve not slept well but that’s more because I’m hopefully going to be induced today and even though I know I should rest I can’t…

Fingers crossed it starts for you soon z these last few days/weeks are pretty miserable!!

jadey1991 · 17/12/2021 06:50

I've been awake practically all night. But I've had a crying baby. Never experienced a crying baby believe lol. My daughters were sleepers.
@Decadesbcun I do hope you feel better soon hun. @Exmoorkatie86 oh that's nice. Keep us updated x

@2020mission with my first my midwife told me to walk sideways up and down the stairs

jadey1991 · 17/12/2021 09:50

@2020mission have you had any symptoms?

Who was getting induced today? Brain has gone?

Hi ladies It's D-day for me today! I'm at hospital with hubby waiting for induction 💙

Anyone due later dec (thread 3)
burtle4 · 17/12/2021 11:19

Good luck @lovebeingmum9 hope all goes well and look forward to hearing your birth announcement!

2020mission · 17/12/2021 12:11

@jadey1991 I had some backache for a few hours last night when sitting watching TV... might just be due to the bump weight though but it felt similar to period cramps. Gone now though so it was a tease 😅 I'm calling up later to find out when this sweep is booked for next week. The appointment letters take too long to arrive so not risking missing it incase they booked for Monday.

@jadey1991 shame about the lack of sleep but must be lovely having your little boy here despite that!

Good luck with your induction @lovebeingmum9 😃

@xTinkerbell ohh thanks I'll try that the next time I'm taking the stairs! I'm in a flat but I can take the stairs when going in and out of the building @cutejeans looking up the miles circuit now, I've never heard of that. Will definitely be having sex this weekend whether my husband likes it or not 😂

@Theawkwardblonde didn't realise your due date was just a day ahead of me. I've not noticed any braxton hicks, just a bit of back cramping so far. Hopefully we'll both be in labour soon 🤞

tashx · 17/12/2021 12:12

@lovebeingmum9
Good luck
This is me tomorrow 😮😞🤭

JW2021 · 17/12/2021 12:34

This is me wishing and hoping I wish I was you! At weeks tomorrow still going strong don’t get me wrong I like surprises but not if the water breaks kind in the middle of the bank!

JW2021 · 17/12/2021 12:36

39 weeks

jadey1991 · 17/12/2021 12:42
