Good luck to those who are being induced soon!
I had backache for a few days in the lead up. It’s so hard to tell but trust your body, it knows what to do even if you feel like you can’t do it, I promise you can! Stay active, have sex if you can and enjoy it as much as poss before life goes upside down in the best way x

Struggling badly with anxiety at the moment. Terrified of getting covid before Tuesday with how quickly this new variant seems to be spreading

jadey1991 · 18/12/2021 10:23

@lovebeingmum9 hey hun how r u?

OP posts:
burtle4 · 18/12/2021 11:49

@xTinkerbell I felt exactly the same before going in to be induced. I just kept telling myself that we'd managed to avoid it for the past two years so we could hang on for a few more days. Just keep being vigilant about wearing masks, sanitising and staying away from crowded places and you'll be fine x

cutejeans · 18/12/2021 12:17

Hi ladies, sorry for the late replies just been doing last minute baby prep before my induction tomorrow🥰

@Theawkwardblonde aww bless you, I know the feeling about the sore pelvis it's awful!! I'm not too bad thankyou, just very uncomfortable and getting nervous for tomorrow!! X

@lovebeingmum9 ahh hope it's all going amazing for you! Can't wait to hear about your birth story and your little one xx

cutejeans · 18/12/2021 12:18

How is everyone else feeling? My notifications are so bizarre, sometimes I get them all and sometimes I get none and miss everything for days🤣 x

@xTinkerbell completely understandable anxiety, I'm worried about covid too! Can I ask what you would do if you were me... my sweep was being booked for early next week when I was at my last appointment on Tuesday. The woman said she would book it when I left and if I don't get a letter through I was to call by the end of the week. I spent all afternoon yesterday trying to get through to the Princess Royal but it kept ringing out after they transferred me to health records. I know the Princess Royal were doing vaccinations all yesterday afternoon for pregnant ladies and their partners so I'm guessing that's why no one answered. I just tried calling again today only to be told health records are closed until Monday so now I have absolutely no way of finding out when my sweep is booked for. It could be booked for super early on Monday and I'll miss it. I absolutely hate NHS Glasgow & Clyde lately 😔 just really fed up with them and how shockingly disorganised they are. I had to call to find out my last scan appointment because the letter didn't arrive until the day after the scan!

jadey1991 · 18/12/2021 16:12

@2020mission although I'm not from Scotland is there no way you can contact triage and ask them to have a look?

OP posts:
xTinkerbell · 18/12/2021 16:50

@burtle4 I’m a little calmer today but think the anxiety will come and go till it’s all over. I’ve been doing lateral flows everyday to try and keep my mind at ease. Trying to say the same that I’ve avoided it this long, it’s just a few more days but I’m so on edge. I think all the government updates etc aren’t helping so I’m trying to avoid them now,

@2020mission I’m not too sure, the only thing I can think of is maybe try ringing mat assessment and explaining to them? They can access your notes and should be able to see if it’s been booked in.

2020mission · 18/12/2021 17:09

@jadey1991 @xTinkerbell I think you're both right I'm probably best to call triage/maternity assessment. I feel guilty calling incase someone in labour needs to get through but needs must! I'll try that tomorrow. I really wish I was with the QEUH, the Princess Royal are not good from my experience.

lovebeingmum9 · 18/12/2021 17:13

Hi all.....I've given birth to our gorgeous son Oscar at 1:58 this morning weighing 8lb 2oz. The labour was quite quick and straight forward thankfully.... I had induction/pessary at 12:30 lunchtime then started getting strong contractions at around 9pm every 5 minutes or so until I was moved into a labour room and given the epidural but by the time it took to do it I was already 9cm and started pushing soon after! We should hopefully go home in the morning so oscar who is our youngest of 5 can meet his big sister and big brothers who already completely love him 💙 Feeling so blessed and relieved he is here at last! Thanks everyone for your well wishes going into labour and wish the next mums going into labour the same 😊🎉 I will post a pic once home as my phones playing up and had to do last pic on hubbies phone x

jadey1991 · 18/12/2021 17:31

@2020mission yes darling give them a call. See what they say.

cutejeans · 18/12/2021 22:11

@lovebeingmum9 aww massive congratulations, can't wait to see a picture of baby Oscar! Sounds like a nice quick labour, hope you're both doing okay now xx

cutejeans · 18/12/2021 22:14

@2020mission that's absolutely rubbish, I would honestly complain to your hospital if I was you! I do feel for you, mine has been a bit rubbish as well though no where near as bad as that.. my sister is actually 20 weeks pregnant and is at a different hospital 10 minutes further away from where we are which is so much better and I wish I'd changed to that one!! Oh well, hindsight and all that hahaha x

burtle4 · 18/12/2021 22:50

Congratulations @lovebeingmum9, lovely news! Oscar was on our list of names too x
