@jadey1991 same here. I didnt sleep alot last night due to nerves, restless legs etc...im at hospital now waiting for my injections and slide and scale iv. Im on the maternity ward and seeing all the little cots and babies here, its all starting to kick in now. Trying to distract myself on mumsnet because its never a first attempt at iv when I have them. Always 3rd go....

jadey1991 · 01/12/2021 09:29

@Curlymam88 aww hun, I bet you super excited tho arent you. A couple days krill tour baby is here. I don't like iv's myself. They drain me. How comes you have to have the iv fluid?

OP posts:
Curlymam88 · 01/12/2021 09:45

@jadey1991 I hate them. I feel like I have to do everything one handed. The steroid injections will make my sugars go really high so thats what the slide and scale is for ;insulin which will bring my sugars back down. Usually people will have the 2 steroid injections but be able to go home after them but I cant because of the diabetes etc...good that they're keeping an eye on me though I guess.

jadey1991 · 01/12/2021 15:03

@Curlymam88 sorry for the late reply I've been sleeping.. oh o see what you mean. So your in the right place. Just think you will have your baby in your arms soon x

Good luck @Curlymam88 not long to go!

@jadey1991 I noticed my amniotic fluid had dropped since my last growth scan too which was interesting! The best thing I heard about being in early labour for longer is that the actual birth is quicker as your body has had longer to prepare. So fingers crossed!

xTinkerbell · 01/12/2021 16:00

@Curlymam88 so exciting! Good luck!

Im just back from midwife. 36+4 & measuring 37. Baby not engaged but she says he or she is lower than last time.

I’m hoping baby stays out till my section date on the 21st anyway.

Hope you’re doing okay @jadey1991

jadey1991 · 01/12/2021 16:25

@tuxedocat yea let's hope your right lol. Has your AF dropped a lot?

julzx · 01/12/2021 22:45

Hi all, midwife appointment today 36 +3 heads down and engaged poised to come, my midwifes parting words were i probably wont see you in 2 weeks hope everything goes well, it sort of sent me on a downward spiral today. Im booked in for the 20th of december and ive made my peace with that, they will have everything ready my notes regarding my last birth and complications i had so the thought she could come before that has me freaking out, just because maternity assesment are a nightmare to get hold of,my midwife is like first twinge you tell them your booked in and youll go in and everything will be fine, im not so convinced. Things were to negligent i really am so worried and frightened.

So after my appointment i went to home bargains for sone wrapping paper, managed to knock an old ladys shopping trolley over which scattered the contents of my own basket that i struggled to pick up which then set of the tears so i moped in bed most of the day until it was time to pick up my boy from nursery... still feeling quite hormonal i think reality is finally setting in lol

burtle4 · 02/12/2021 07:25

Sorry @julzx that you had a tough day yesterday. I wouldn't take what the midwife said to seriously, you're still not even 37 weeks yet and the chances of baby making an early appearance aren't as high as reaching week 39/40. They're only guessing when they say stuff like that and probably don't realise how much of an impact a statement like that can make! I hope you're feeling a bit better about things this morning x

jadey1991 · 02/12/2021 07:59

@Curlymam88 aww bless you hun.
@julzx sounds like you had a bad day hun. I'm really sorry. Hopefully baby comes when you're suppose have baby. I've had a nightmare of a time myself. My baby has been really stubborn. But I do hope you feel a lot better today.

@jadey1991 @burtle4 thankyou ladies i hope things go ok for you to, @jadey1992 sorry to hear your having a tough time its so horrid all the worry, i think i might have been feeling a bit sorry for myself she has been threatning since anout 30 weeks been in hospital twice but the contractions eventually stopped and cervix stayed closed, however last night i was awake 3 till 6.30 this morning with what felt like crampy contractions and sorry for the tmi had lots of dioreha in the past 12 hours too, i just hope she is not prepping to make an appearance!

jadey1991 · 02/12/2021 08:46

@julzx hun I know how you're feeling right now. I was in hospital the weekend contracting. My cervix is open a little bit. I've been having diarrhoea too and a lot of discharge. I have been contracting on and off since then. I'm prepared for baby too come . He weighs 6lb15oz( that was on 30/11/21). Really tour midwife shouldn't be saying things like that to worry you but I suppose she was making you aware of what may happen. Just keep and eye on how things go. If you don't mind me asking have u lost you mucus plug?

So I had my consultants appointment today! I’m booked in for induction on our due date but I’m hoping I can get things going sooner!

I finish work tomorrow so I’ll be on operation get baby out now I’m 37 weeks 😂

jadey1991 · 02/12/2021 16:16

@LouLou0505 aww that's good. When was your due date?

OP posts:
Curlymam88 · 02/12/2021 17:04

Sorry to hear some of you are having a rough time. We are all almost there. I'll be having my little girl tomorrow morning but it just dont seem real yet 😝 I have a few tips for your hospital bags if anyone is interested. Ive found while ive veen attached to a drip a wash cloth really handy because I cant get in the shower, definitely lip balm or chapstick. The ward is so hot and stuffy its making my nose stuffy and my lips really dry. Flip flops ive been using every day and definitely an extra long phone cable lead. I also bought little Robinsons fruit shots to add some flavour to the water here. Hopsital food seems to have no taste at all. Very bland.

Curlymam88 · 02/12/2021 17:23

Also just want to say I think us women are awesome. The things us ladies are going through to bring our babies into the world. All the ups and downs from everyone on here. And Im sat on a ward with a woman who is having what sounds like really painful early labour contractions, sat across from a lady whose baby was born 6 weeks early so she's trying her hardest to hand express some milk for her boy and another lady who is in trying to sort out her high blood pressure for the sake of her baby, (and me here obviously) I just think we are awesome and we should all be proud of ourselves Smile my feelings of the day lol.

jadey1991 · 02/12/2021 17:24

@Curlymam88 omg I can't wait to see a picture of tour little girl and yourself. This is so crazy. Your going to be there first mum to have your baby. This is so unreal. I am so excited for you. I defo need to make sure I bring munchies etc with me. Hoping that everything goes to plan with me. The birthing centre has a 6 hour discharge policy u less I have him at night of course
