I'm only 6+2 and super paranoid about absolutely everything. Had my fet on the 28/09, it was our second fet after the first one failed, I had bleeding before I even got to the otd. My scan is this Thursday and it's fair to say I'm bricking it.

Would be nice to chat with some ladies who've done ivf, I have been keeping an eye on the June 2022 thread but sometimes I find I can't relate.

Hiya I’m pregnant after a FET too, just a few days behind you as mine was on 01/10. This is my second IVF pregnancy after having twins from my last FET before this one. Lots of failed before that. Lots of good luck for your scan...I honestly think the time from OTD to scan is actually worse than waiting to test! My scan isn’t till 6th Nov so I have another few weeks to go!

whataglouriousthingtobe · 25/10/2021 15:31

@BuffyFanForever love your username, Buffy fan here too!
Congrats on this pregnancy and your twins, how amazing!
Oh really that's my birthday 😆
Thanks, I'm really nervous. Went to the epu last week as was having pains but they could only see sac and yolk sac so of course been a nervous wreck all week! Are you having many symptoms ? I had really sore boobs the week of finding out and needed a wee a lot but as soon as week five started they seemed to tail off, no nausea or anything, only things is I haven't got a massive appetite

I'm 9+2 from our first IVF FET in early September. I felt exactly the same as you've described during the week we found out. Then very little except sore boobs and hungry for a couple of weeks. I had a bleed at 6+3 and so had my scan at 6+4 rather than the planned 7+3 and luckily all was fine. After that things kicked up a notch and I started getting nausea and super super tired. I'm now equally impatiently waiting for the next scan at 12 weeks. Turns out the waiting never ends!!

beachbum85 · 25/10/2021 16:31

Hi everyone! Huge congratulations :) and double congrats on your twins @BuffyFanForever!

I'm 9+4 after our second round of IVF, so very close @TwiceLemonDifficult :) I had my viability scan a couple of weeks ago and all looked good, and I'm not waiting for the date of the 12w scan - you're right, it never ends!

I've had sore boobs throughout and started having nausea sometime in the 6th week, but it's on-and-off, same as the extreme tiredness. I know it's impossible @whataglouriousthingtobe but try not to worry, everyone has different symptoms. Very best of luck for Thursday's scan xx

whataglouriousthingtobe · 25/10/2021 18:24

Congratulations @TwiceLemonDifficult @beachbum85
The waiting is constant isn't it. And definitely worse after the tww, I actually wasn't too bad this time, I come down with shingles so that took my mind off it and then big shock got our bfp! Since then I've been 🤯
Some mornings my boobs hurt but as soon as I'm out of bed they're back to normal ?? Wish I had some solid symptoms and actually felt pregnant...

I'm IVF but a little bit ahead at 12 weeks today. It was my 3rd transfer following a chemical and then a failed attempt. Symptom wise I had excessive weeing and the odd wave of nausea from about 5 weeks. I'd had on and off tender boobs since transfer due to the progesterone and had that in my failed cycle too. Symptoms ramped up for me from then but became noticeable in week 8/9.

Ania89 · 25/10/2021 19:31

Hi :) I am 17 weeks after an ICSI. It was our 5th transfer and first one that worked (fet). I don’t have many symptoms save for horrible anxiety as I constantly worry about every little thing. So far, everything is going well though (fingers crossed) xx

whataglouriousthingtobe · 26/10/2021 08:03

Hi ladies and congrats on your pregnancies 🥳
I was wondering regarding the hormones, once we're pregnant with ivf do we start producing any of our own hormones ? Obviously we have to stay on all the drugs for a few weeks but does our body actually recognise we're pregnant and pump hormones out or is it all still synthetic from the drugs ? I know we don't have a corpus luteum either do we!

Wifflywafflywoo · 26/10/2021 08:27

Hi I'm 10 weeks with an IVF pregnancy. I've been kept on the progesterone pessaries until 12 weeks when the placenta will have taken over and will produce what the baby needs.

JustOneMoreStep · 26/10/2021 17:38

@whataglouriousthingtobe I suppose it depends on the reason for needing fertility treatment and the drugs you're on. For me I stopped everything after my viability scan except progesterone pessaries which is pretty standard to 12 weeks I think. My understanding is that morning sickness can sometimes be a bit worse due to the extra synthetic progesterone or a bit better as our bodies were exposed to the hormones earlier. I think it is luck if your body happens to experience better or worse symptoms though!

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 26/10/2021 20:26

My clinic seemed to think that after fresh transfer and a positive test your body generally produces the hormones naturally after about 6 weeks (so they suggest stopping the progesterone pessaries then). I think for a positive after frozen transfer you stay on them longer though.

I'm a bit further on than some of you (after multiple failed IUI's and 2 IVF cycles/3 transfers, I'm now 20 weeks pregnant with my first/only baby as a Solo Mum) but I'm still panicking about every little pain/if he's moving or not and haven't told anyone yet apart from my parents - I'm hiding my small bump with baggy tops! I'm hoping my anomaly scan this week will go okay and I'll feel able to tell people soon, but I'm just still so scared of loss...

Holskey · 26/10/2021 20:37

Hey everyone and huge congratulations! I am very newly pregnant after a natural FET. Just 4 weeks today 😬 I have a 16-month-old from a previous FET so feeling very blessed (and terrified like everyone else!) With my first, I didn't buy anything until past 30 weeks.

Not even told the clinic yet as OTD isn't until Friday, and honestly, just that wait is taking forever! So scans feel an eternity away for me.

I've already had the slightest nausea, but I suffered bad morning sickness during my last pregnancy so I guess my body just reacts badly to hcg. Never had sore boobs at all though. Everyone's different.

willithappen · 26/10/2021 20:37

I'm currently 29+5 weeks after IVF pregnancy and did FET too :)

Etonmess20 · 27/10/2021 08:13

So lovely to see so many other IVF pregnancies! I'm currently 11+5 with baby number one after our first IVF cycle in August. Our 12 week scan is a week today & it's really dragging!
We've had multiple early scans so I'm sure everything will be fine but it's always an anxious time isn't it?

whataglouriousthingtobe · 27/10/2021 08:18

Hi everyone and congrats on your pregnancies !
I got my postive the day before otd and seemed to have a lot of symptoms between weeks 4-5 but they slowly tailed off. My boobs aren't really sore anymore unless I give them a good squeeze 😳 so I'm paranoid !! My scan is tomorrow and I think I'm Gona be shaking and everything !
The reason I asked about hormones was I was thinking maybe because we already have estrogen and progesterone in our bodies before transfer and a postive are we just used to it and it kinda levels off ?? I don't know, overthinking absolutely everything.

Etonmess20 · 27/10/2021 09:42

@whataglouriousthingtobe exciting that your scan is tomorrow, got everything crossed that all is good for you! I was really nervous before my first scan & have been for other scans since so I think it's really normal.
On the symptoms I've barely had any & am now 11+5, I have had no sickness & my boobs aren't particularly sore either. The main symptoms have been being extra hungry & tired so I wouldn't read too much into it (as easy as it is for me to say that!) I spent so much time worrying about why I didn't f

Etonmess20 · 27/10/2021 09:44

@whataglouriousthingtobe posted too soon sorry.

I soent so long worrying about why I didn't feel sick when everyone else seemed to & I should have just enjoyed it 😂

claresp · 27/10/2021 10:21

Fellow IVF here. Have made it to twenty weeks now but that anxiety from the first weeks has never gone away. Second guess everything and even though we had a scan this week that showed all is well I still worry that I haven't felt her move yet. So no helpful advice really! But just to let you know you're not alone. Hugs to you. Keep us updated.

claresp · 27/10/2021 10:24

Oh and I was advised to stay on pessaries for six weeks - carried on a couple of extra weeks as was paranoid my body wouldn't produce enough hormones on its own. But it seems to have kicked in ok.

MrsRubyMonday · 27/10/2021 10:31

Currently 11+6 after our first fresh transfer, had our clinic scan at around 8 weeks and then we had a private scan last Saturday, baby is growing well. We were told to continue progesterone injections and pessaries 3 times a day until 12 weeks, although I've missed some of the pessaries, I hate them so much. Everything is sticky and they smell funny. Only two more days of the injections left, can't wait to put this part behind me. Still feel incredibly anxious about the whole thing, not being able to feel the baby or anything yet is hard but trying to keep my spirits up, we've done the hardest part now.

whataglouriousthingtobe · 27/10/2021 11:21

It seems the anxiety next goes away then ! I have found already I stop worrying about one thing and it's straight into another, it's exhausting ! I've been waiting so long for this and I can't enjoy it through major anxiety.
Yeah the pessaries aren't nice are they, I also do lubion injections which I've got used to now !
I had a scan last week due to pain and According to how the epu dated me I'll be 6+5 tomorrow, I'm worrying it's still too early to see anything !

SerendipitySunshine · 27/10/2021 16:38

Yes, I'm 12w 4d and still so nervous. Had a couple of bleeds which didn't help. 12week scan this week, so hoping that makes me feel a bit better!

Holskey · 27/10/2021 17:07

@whataglouriousthingtobe you say you'll be 6+5 based on epu dates, but how far along are you actually? My clinic booked my scan for 6+5 in my first pregnancy and I saw a heartbeat 💓

@claresp I didn't feel my first baby move until way later than I expected. I was so worried. When he started moving, I started panicking that I hadn't felt him for the last hour. It's never-ending!

whataglouriousthingtobe · 27/10/2021 17:10

@Holskey well my transfer date was 28/09, an app says I should be 7 weeks tomorrow going off that

Hi ladies, glad I've just found this thread as I was looking on due July 2022 and found the same that I couldn't really relate. Currently just 4+5 after our 6th ivf transfer, all previous have either been bfn or chemical. TTC for 5 years in total. So anxious, constantly just feel like my period will start any minute. Obviously the stress and trauma we've all gone through to get to this point means we can't fully relax and enjoy the pregnancy 😩

Keep telling myself this is the furthest we've ever got and it's all positive so far. Trying to stay as zen as possible!

I'm on steroids(prednisolone) progesterone injections, pessaries (hate them), clexane injections and estrogen tablets 3 times a day. Don't think I could fit anymore drugs into me if I tried! Our first scan isn't till 11th nov, I can't wait to have confirmation that everything is ok but also keen to find out how long I need to keep taking all these meds!

Is anyone else also on prednisolone or clexane?
