@Positive21 Yes... I definitely am! It's like my brain just picks something to be anxious about and won't just let me rest or be happy! My early scan would be 3rd Oct 🤞 Hang in there!

Sarah239 · 24/09/2021 15:23

@msunflower yes just a little bit shocked....! It was a complete fluke that I even tested, I wasn't even late I just took a test on a whim because I didn't want to be wondering all weekend, and then the line came up straight away and I just started shaking and crying and going "no...no....no way" (as in I couldn't believe it, not that I didn't want it! I very much did obviously!)

Etonmess20 · 24/09/2021 15:24

@msunflower Thank you ❤️ I think it does feel reassuring in a sense that they are there but that doesn't necessarily mean they'd be successful. There was women on my IVF group who had better embryos transferred than the two we have frozen (& even our current pregnancy) that didn't get a BFP so it seems a bit of a lottery in that sense! What we've had to go through has taught me you can't take things as a given no matter your chances of success!

@Sarah239 I agree - it is very lonely & depressing & I don't think it goes away just because you get your BFP. It hasn't for me anyway, you almost just have something else to wait for/worry about & are petrified of it being taken away at any moment & being back to square one. That said, we've been far luckier than some of the women I've got to know through our journey so you have to count your blessings don't you?

It's really nice to talk to people who "get it" - Thank you ladies ❤️

Hi everyone, I found out I'm pregnant earlier this week, I'm 5+2 weeks so due on the 25th May. Is anyone still taking pregnancy tests? I'm driving myself insane I have taken 3 clearblue digital test and all said pregnant. Just taken a coop own brand one and it's negative, I know I'm mad still taking tests but doesn't feel real. I have got a doctors phone call book in next Wednesday. Any advice would be great. Thank you

acupofteamakeseverythingbetter · 24/09/2021 16:07

I'm still taking tests @Lwwc 🙈 I'm going to take another clearblue at the weekend to make sure it goes to 3+

Coop one must be faulty! If you've had positive tests and no period then I don't know why it would say negative! I would disregard that one

Sarah239 · 24/09/2021 16:30

@Etonmess20 I completely agree. I'm terrified. If I tell the doctor I am pregnant and then sadly lost it, our IVF NHS eligibility would set back to zero and we'd need to wait another 3 years (having already waited 2+ years). That would feel so cruel. So I've been scared to even tell gp/midwife I am pregnant. But reasoned myself I can't wait much longer than next Monday (which would be 6w1d) so I will do it then. It's not like I would want to pretend it hadn't happened at all, the thought of that upsets me, it's just that 5.5 years would be a very long time to wait! So I am just praying and hoping every day that this little miracle sticks ❤️

I agree, it's very nice to chat with people who have been through a long wait as I think there is just something you can't describe about it unless you've been through it. Even though we are (at the moment) one of the lucky couples!

And yes @Lwwc I am still testing! Just find it reassuring every few days :)

Etonmess20 · 24/09/2021 16:46

@Sarah239 that's awful & saw an obvious flaw in the rules. Completely get why you've been hesitant to tell anyone if that's the case but I have everything crossed that everything will be perfect for you 💕 we deserve some good luck finally dont we?

PairOfPears · 24/09/2021 20:14

Hi everyone, would love to join? Due May 21st according to LMP but I ovulate quite late so I expect it will be a bit later than that in reality.

Etonmess20 · 25/09/2021 10:48

So after a little bit of brown discharge last night (that seems to have all but gone today) I booked myself in for a scan at Ultrasound Direct first thing this morning. We have a teeny tiny baby with a heartbeat in the right place, measuring literally bang on our dates (7+1). We do have an NHS scan on Monday but feel so reassured now so it was definitely worth it.

Also have a new symptom this morning....the dry wretch which is delightful!

Happy Saturday & hope everyone's well x

Amazing @Etonmess20 beautiful scan ❤️ you must feel reassured now

Etonmess20 · 25/09/2021 11:04

@acupofteamakeseverythingbetter thank you, I really do. Think DP (with his rational unpregnant brain) probably thought I was being a bit silly but there we go 😂 x

AMM86 · 25/09/2021 12:15

I need to spill out my anxious brain folks!!!

I’m only 5+3 and have known less than a week. I struggle with anxiety anyway and it’s currently all over the shop.

I’ve had some tiredness but the only other symptom I’ve had is cramps. Never severe and not always in the same place but they’re either twinges, stitch-like pains or like a mild dull ache. Sometimes to the left side, sometimes the right side and sometimes low in the middle. I called 111 a few days ago and they called me back at 3:40am so I was asleep and missed the call.
I’m also gassy (sorry!) and I’ve noticed it aches more when I’m home from work. This year I’ve got a very difficult class and am feeling the stress (I intend to have a chat with my headteacher next week about this as I’m concerned for my stress levels and the baby).

This morning is the first time I’ve felt a bit nauseous and faint.

Long story short, I’m worrying myself silly that it’s ectopic or something. But my husband is saying it’s likely normal and just my body adjusting etc. But every time I google it I get freaked out as ectopic comes up. Have booked an early scan for next Saturday.

Husband says we could go to the walk in centre after football today if I’m still worried. But I wondered if anyone else has experienced similar? Is it literally just gas? My body adjusting? Or am I right to worry?

Apologies for the insanely long post!! Xx

Etonmess20 · 25/09/2021 12:27

@AMM86 I think what you're describing sounds similar to what I had in terms of twinges & pills etc so I wouldn't be unduly concerned unless there's a lot of pain. It does feel weird when it's your first time & you have no idea what to expect & whats normal etc
With that said, if you are concerned there's definitely no harm in going to get yourself checked out - especially if that's the only thing that's going to put your mind at rest.
Be gentle with yourself today & try & take it easy then maybe decide how you're feeling later ❤️ lots of love because it is such an anxious time

Positive21 · 25/09/2021 12:37

Welcome @PairOfPears

@Etonmess20 I would have done the same! It's taking everything in my power to not move my scan closer 😭 what a lovely scan photo!

And yes these men are far too rational. My OH won't even indulge me speaking negatively. I don't think he's trying to be mean or unsupportive but he knows I don't need to focus on that.

I'm saying I have 5 days till my scan 😂

@AMM86 I think anxiety is normal even if you've never experienced a loss. I haven't, this is my first pregnancy and it's such a strange limbo between the 2ww and the first scan. It doesn't feel real so it's easy to let your mind run away with potentially negative or worrisome thoughts. You aren't the only one 💕

Etonmess20 · 25/09/2021 13:07

@Positive21 thank you, we got loads of photos & some videos too which is amazing, was very surprised how much we got! Sure the NHS one wont be the same but will still be nice to see them again!
My DP is very similar but it's all well & good when it's not their body it's all happening in! Its a lot easier to remain calm 😂 if I hadn't have had the brown stuff last night I don't think he'd have entertained it but he could tell I was worried/stressed about it.
It'll be your turn soon, can't wait to see your pictures 💕 how far along will you be?

Milly1408 · 25/09/2021 13:17

Hey ladies! Love seeing all your scan photos! Making me very excited for mine next week! 😊 I’m 7+4 weeks and I have literally had a stuffy nose since week 4! I’ve googled and I’m pretty sure it’s pregnancy rhinitis- as most medications are not advised for first trimester- has anyone experienced something similar and has any safe remedies?

Positive21 · 25/09/2021 13:36

@Etonmess20 that sounds so wonderful! Yes men find it very easy to shut off, especially as I suppose it's not very real to us until we see a scan so it's probably even less real to them!

I'm so anxious but so excited! I will be 8+3 so should be very clear. I'm currently 7+4 and I keep saying time is dragging but it isn't really, I'm just ultra impatient!

Etonmess20 · 25/09/2021 13:50

@Positive21 yeah that's true, nothing really changes for them for a long time does it so understandably they don't quite get it sometimes.
Oh yeah should be plenty for you to see, I'm definitely 7+1 as I'm IVF so should be even more for you to see than mine!
I know the feeling, I feel liked times standing still but flying at the same time!

Positive21 · 25/09/2021 15:14

No, I mean it still doesn't feel quite real to me especially as I have barley any symptoms. Just a (fee!) positive tests I've collected over the past few weeks 😂

It is! It's definitely feeling like it's going slow but the reality is it's gone really quick already.

Have you told family yet?

Sarah239 · 25/09/2021 15:25

Hi @AMM86 I am 5+6 today and I have been struggling with cramps this week but I have eventually come to the conclusion it's gas and bloating and for me it's been around 3-4pm and 9-10pm which is about 3 hours after I eat meals. What you have described sounds normal... I have been worried about ectopic too but I reasoned with myself that it would be more painful and more focused on one side. However, if you are worried, you should seek medical advice to alleviate your concerns. Obviously none of us can say for sure, I can only say that it sounds similar to what I've had! My main symptoms so far have been tiredness, frequent urination, gas/cramps and slight waves of nausea. I am trying Gaviscon today and seeing if that helps and I also have a gp appointment next week. Wish you all the best! ❤️

Sarah239 · 25/09/2021 15:28

@Etonmess20 congrats on your scan! I am holding out til 7 weeks for mine, a week tomorrow 🙏🙏🙏 So it might look like yours 🥰🤞

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 25/09/2021 15:30

Lovely scan @Etonmess20 really glad to hear all is looking good!

@AMM86 that sounds really normal, try not to worry. This is my third pregnancy and in every single one I’ve had cramps, pain, twinges, pulling feelings and all has been fine touch wood. I actually booked my early scan this time as I was worried most of my cramping was one one side and was worrying about an ectopic pregnancy but the baby is in the right place.

Worrying today because I was in the park and some idiot booted a football right in the air towards us and hit me on the back really hard from a great hight and it really hurt and now I’m worrying it’s dislodged the baby. My back hurts a bit. I had spinal surgery a year ago and it hit me exactly where the surgery was. I should have moved out of the way but I was just worried about it hitting my boys so I couldn’t move in time. Hopefully worrying over nothing.

aNewYorkerInLondon · 25/09/2021 15:43

@Etonmess20 - scan looks great! Congratulations!

@MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat - that sounds scary. People are not as careful as they should be in public spaces. I see kids and dogs hit by runners and cyclists in the park all the time (though I would never let my dog off-lead in a non-secure "dog park" area, but I'm in the minority in my neighborhood on that for sure!). That said, my GP antinatal doc says that even a pretty direct impact to the abdominal won't hurt baby at this phase, and your back is even less squishy than your belly, so I think that baby is happily growing along in there. Smile I'm more concerned that you didn't hurt your back where you had the surgery! Take it easy for the weekend and call your back doctor if you have pain.

AMM86 · 25/09/2021 15:50

Thank you. That’s definitely reassured me a bit! It’s not a symptom that many people seem to mention so I instantly panic!
Hope you’re well and the gaviscon works! X

Milly1408 · 25/09/2021 16:13

@MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat a similar thing happened to me a few weeks ago- I was sitting in the park and my dog has having very wild playtime with another dog and they both ran and crashed into my lower back at full speed! Even left a big bruise! but everything has been completely fine with baby - so I wouldn’t worry too much, I think they’re well cushioned in there! I totally get why you feel worried though, it’s scary! But hopefully this reassures you a bit!Smile
