@hwp22 welcome! We're due date twins 😊

Bubbasmama2017 · 27/10/2021 14:04

@hwp22 welcome!

Bubbasmama2017 · 27/10/2021 14:08

That's true @fattycatty82 I can imagine a few people in my work thinking it's "inconvenient" I'll be off for some time. Thinking I'll take 10-11 months as did the same last time so hopefully they'll keep my position for me.
It's nerve wracking telling people at work though!

KMHH · 27/10/2021 14:15

I had a little spotting wheh I was 8 weeks I've had a scan and everything was fine and perfect, I'm now 11 weeks and have quite a bit of brown discharge. Just wondering is anyone else has had the same ? X

Etonmess20 · 27/10/2021 14:23

@KMHH I've had some brown tinged discharge on & off, midwife said to me they generally aren't worried about brown (doesn't help with how anxious it makes you feel though!)
Mines generally only been when wiping & hasn't lasted more than 24 hours or so at a time. Definitely get checked out if you're concerned though x

GinnyBee · 27/10/2021 15:07

@Bubbasmama2017 I think they're legally required to keep your position, pregnancy and maternity are protected.

I'm also nervous about telling work, not because of anything happening to my job but for personal 'disappointment'. If I worked in a larger company I wouldn't give a toss, but my office is only 3 people so any member of staff leaving is a big deal, and recruiting is never fun or easy.

SerendipitySunshine · 27/10/2021 15:25

Yes, I've had brown spotting a few times with this pregnancy, and all has been well.

hwp22 · 27/10/2021 17:29

@itssquidstella thanks 😊 aww glad to have a DD twin! Have you got your 12 w scan soon? Mines booked for 11Nov xx
@Bubbasmama2017 Thankyou 😊 xx

itssquidstella · 27/10/2021 17:33

@hwp22 I actually only filled in my referral form after my successful 10 week scan this morning at the recurrent miscarriage clinic! Felt like it would be tempting fate to do it any sooner.

I’ve booked a Harmony test for next week, though, and hopefully I'll hear from the midwives soon!

LucyCP22 · 27/10/2021 17:43

Hi ladies,
Can I join? I’m pregnant with my third. I already have to daughters 12 and 5. Wasn’t planning on having another but wouldn’t have it any other way now. I only found out I was pregnant on Monday. I’m roughly around 10/11 weeks and I’m already showing.

Minster2012 · 27/10/2021 17:51

@hwp22 the 11th is my scan too and I'm also a DD triplet now with you & @itssquidstella, I've also had 2 miscarriages so I'm also nervous (understatement) that's awesome!

itssquidstella · 27/10/2021 17:53

@Minster2012 hi! Will this be your first baby?

hwp22 · 27/10/2021 18:02

@Minster2012 it’s hard to keep a lid on the anxiety sometimes isn’t it 😟
@itssquidstella totally get it - that’s why I didn’t join this thread till today - last time I’d just joined a lovely FB group when I had MC and it was horrible leaving.
I’ve also got Harmony test booked next week! Xx

So Seems like we 3 are all in a similar boat then…with DD & past MCs - I’m so pleased to have joined this thread!
xx

fattycatty82 · 27/10/2021 18:06

Welcome everyone 😊 it's lovely to be part of this group

Is anyone else due on May 22nd?

itssquidstella · 27/10/2021 18:14

@hwp22 good luck for your Harmony test! I’m 36 so thought I may as well have one as my background risk is probably raised by my age. Whereabouts are you based? I'm in North London.

robyna · 27/10/2021 20:22

Has anyone else got a horrible sour taste in their mouth? I can't seem to get rid of it, I've tried everything!

Sarah239 · 27/10/2021 21:33

@robyna no but I've heard that's really common! Metallic or sour taste. I have heard Werther's Originals help!

I've had a weirdly mild sore throat frequently but not really associated it with a particular taste!

hwp22 · 27/10/2021 21:36

@robyna - yep…since about 5 weeks - it’s actually getting slightly less so now! Coffee has tasted absolutely awful for weeks and I usually love coffee!

Sarah239 · 27/10/2021 21:40

Hi everyone. Work has been mad this week and I worked (from home) til 11pm last night. In one sense it's taken my mind off things but in another now I can relax for an hour this evening I'm really panicking that my symptoms are still disappearing. Where has my pregnancy gone?! I hate this not knowing!

Husband is also going out this weekend and I'm so worried he'll catch Covid and we will miss scan date if isolating 😔 he's also getting train to London/tube for work the day before our scan. Ugh these rising case numbers are really worrying me! Just grateful to be vaccinated.

Sarah239 · 27/10/2021 21:57

@fattycatty82 hi! my original due date was 22nd, then early scan measured my 5 days ahead at 17th, but waiting to see at 12 week scan!

hwp22 · 27/10/2021 22:14

@itssquidstella thanks - you too!
Yes I’m in my late 30’s too so made sense to have NIPT especially as had previous Mc’s too.
Do you know how long after blood test you get results? x

morphe · 27/10/2021 23:57

Lovely scan photo @itssquidstella! I am in London too.

Welcome @hwp22 and @LucyCP22 and congratulations! I'm 12 weeks and I'm looking much bigger but don't think I look pregnant as such, just fat Grin. I think it probably is actually more extra weight than baby, as I tend to crave carbs and junk food, and I've not really lost my appetite.

@hwp22 I got my NIPT result after 7 working days (including the day they took the bloods) - they'd told me to allow 7-10 days.

fattycatty82 · 28/10/2021 06:55

Can someone explain what a NIPT and harmony test are? I'm 39 so want all the tests I can get but I heard some you have to pay for privately? Thank you 🙏

FateHasRedesignedMost · 28/10/2021 07:48

Are the NIPT and Harmony Tests the same?

I was told by the private scanning clinic the Harmony test has replaced Amnio and CVS as it’s so accurate, but is around £400 and not available on the NHS. Is the NIPT another name for it or does that refer to the bloods they take to combine with the nuchal screening and give your risk factor?

robyna · 28/10/2021 08:00

@Sarah239 amazing I'll give them a go!

@hwp22 it's awful, I'm 11 weeks today and it just seems to be getting worse every day. How many weeks are you?
