My scan is this Thursday and I feel the same. My Mum is all excited about it and I just keep saying “it’s early days yet, Mum”. I don’t want her to be crushed, as much as I know I’ll be crushed myself if something goes wrong again

aNewYorkerInLondon · 25/10/2021 22:08

Hey ladies. Need help, please.

I'm 12+5 and had my 12-week scan today. Everything looked good and baby was wiggling away in there. They did see a fibroid, but the sonographer said it wasn't in a worrying spot. I've been having near constant round ligament discomfort and she said maybe it was the fibroid.

Well, tonight, I've started bleeding pink blood. I've put a pad on and will watch how heavy it is. I'm super nervous.

If I were to go to A&E, will they actually be able to do anything?

I have an appointment with a consultant obstetrician tomorrow to talk about my blood pressure. Do I wait until tomorrow?

The blue folder says to call the midwife line if I have bleeding after 20 weeks, but not sure what to do now.

Please advise me!

aNewYorkerInLondon · 25/10/2021 22:09

It feels like I'm getting my period. :-(

Elsie2021 · 25/10/2021 22:14

@aNewYorkerInLondon I’m so sorry this is happening :(

Its probably nothing to worry about. Especially as only today you saw a healthy wiggly baby. I would monitor how much blood and if it gets heavy then go toA&E. if it is just when you wipe then maybe you can wait until tomorrow.

But you must do whatever YOU feel comfortable with.

Hugs x

RT65 · 25/10/2021 22:23

@aNewYorkerInLondon so sorry you're going through this but do try not to stress as it may be nothing. Have you tried ringing 111 for advice? They may be able to advise what you should do.

aNewYorkerInLondon · 25/10/2021 22:59

Called and they said to go to A&E, so we're here now.

Positive21 · 25/10/2021 23:22

Hope you are ok @aNewYorkerInLondon 💕

morphe · 26/10/2021 00:11

@aNewYorkerInLondon I hope you are seen quickly and that they can reassure you. I know bleeding is quite common and often not an indication of something wrong, especially since you're past 12 weeks now.

@MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat Congratulations, lovely photo. It must feel like a relief to feel able to break the news to people.

I have my scan this Friday and we also haven't told anyone yet. I've had the results of my Harmony test back today though and that was all clear, less than 1/10,000 chance of T21/18/13 so I'm feeling positive about the scan. Also found out that we're having a girl, which is lovely as we already have a 3yo DD! I don't really have a preference either way, but it'll make things simpler with hand me downs and passing on toys!

aNewYorkerInLondon · 26/10/2021 01:10

They booked me with the Gyne ER tomorrow. I'm home now.

Interestingly, the St. Mary's A&E is also a meth clinic. Made for a rather stressful wait.

Bubbasmama2017 · 26/10/2021 07:11

@anewyorkerinlondon I hope everything is ok today and you managed to get some sleep

Bubbasmama2017 · 26/10/2021 07:13

@morphe that's lovely news, I have a daughter too and like you don't have a preference but 2 girls would be "easier" in terms of having all the clothes and stuff.

EastMidsGem · 26/10/2021 07:38

I’m sorry @aNewYorkerInLondon I didn’t see your posts until this morning. I hope everything is ok and sending huge hugs

AMM86 · 26/10/2021 10:29

@aNewYorkerInLondon hope you’re ok! Xxx

I am so sick. Even the tablets are not really doing anything now. Hoping this is the peak!

SerendipitySunshine · 26/10/2021 10:33

How are you feeling now @aNewYorkerInLondon - I also had bleeding after my seven-week scan. I wondered if it was because they pressed down hard to see the baby and it caused a bit of bleeding? Fingers crossed for you.

fattycatty82 · 26/10/2021 10:41

Really hope everything is ok @aNewYorkerInLondon.

@AMM86 yes 10+2 and hoping I'm going to turn a corner soon. Thankfully I work from home but I'm very irritable and to be honest would like to tell work to do one 😭 keep thinking I'll take a day off sick then somehow pull through

aNewYorkerInLondon · 26/10/2021 10:42

Thanks all. Your messages do help. Bleeding is minimal now, so I hope that's a good sign. I have an appointment at 1130 and another at 1440 today.

AMM86 · 26/10/2021 10:53

@aNewYorkerInLondon glad it’s calmed. Fingers crossed for you xx

@fattycatty82 I’m 9+6 today and been sick twice so far already. I’m a teacher and thankfully have two weeks off at the moment. If it’s not any better next week then I won’t be able to go back in, not in this state ☹️

LS2020 · 26/10/2021 11:42

@aNewYorkerInLondon thinking of you ❤️ Glad bleeding has slowed and hopefully you get an update soon. Fingers crossed for you

YummyMummyXoX · 26/10/2021 11:44

Minster2012 · 26/10/2021 15:12

@aNewYorkerInLondon thinking of you hoping it's still all good

aNewYorkerInLondon · 26/10/2021 16:58

Hi all!

We just got back from a the Gynea ER. Baby is fine. In there kicking those little legs. There is a bleed but they don’t see that it is to do with baby at all. They’re not sure where it's coming from, but it seems to have stopped and just monitoring for now.

Thank you thank you all for your wishes.

SerendipitySunshine · 26/10/2021 17:05

Great news @aNewYorkerInLondon - rest up and take it easy.

AMM86 · 26/10/2021 17:19
