@Elsie2021 My latest scan was similar in that it measured a couple days ahead. My first one at 6+4 was measuring 6+3 and yesterday at 8+4 measured 8+6 or 9+0. But it's more accurate at the dating scan, early scans can change as it's so difficult to accurately measure when they're still so tiny.

KMHH · 15/10/2021 17:06

Hey Smile
Hope you don't mind me joining.
I'm due 18th may so I'm 9 + 2, I've been feeling sick for about 3 weeks constantly however, this last week I've been sick, completely gone off food as everything I look at makes me sick and just feel really icky.
Is anyone else feeling like this and have any ideas of what may help.
Thank you!

SerendipitySunshine · 15/10/2021 17:21

Anyone waiting for NIPT results? They told us it could be two weeks - feels like forever!

aNewYorkerInLondon · 15/10/2021 20:00

@SerendipitySunshine, yes! We had my blood draw on Wednesday. They said that they often get them sooner, but can't promise that. Fingers crossed that we both get happy results!

Bonus of the NIPT appointment was that they did a scan to check that baby is far enough along to so the test. Baby has a good strong heartbeat (164) and is actually measuring a few days ahead, which she said is a good sign that things are going well at this stage.

Baby stretched out really big as though to say, "Hi! I have hands and feet now!!"

I'm so in love!

YummyMummyXoX · 15/10/2021 21:19

So me and DS have Covid... Coupled with morning sickness. I've not noticed any symptoms tbf although DS is symptomatic. X

PairofPears · 16/10/2021 07:07

@KMHH I had this in my last pregnancy, this level of sickness only lasted a couple of weeks. Just find the one thing you can manage and eat that…for me it was salt and vinegar snack a jacks, cucumber and sometimes very small amounts of mash with gravy. Also sipping on cloudy apple juice helped. It’s mainly about just soldiering through and knowing it doesn’t last forever.

Also, be as gentle on yourself as you can, take it easy, get early nights if you need them etc. It’s really gruelling work and your body is doing an amazing job!

FateHasRedesignedMost · 16/10/2021 07:14

@KMHH

Have you spoken to your doctor about the sickness? I had HG in my first pregnancy and have it again in this one, I’m on ondansetron and metaclopramide. The meds don’t alleviate the sickness completely but they make it possible to keep food and fluids down. Constant sickness can lead to dehydration (as well as being awful) so I’d definitely see a doctor ASAP. Hope you feel better soon

Bubbasmama2017 · 16/10/2021 07:24

@FateHasRedesignedMost can I ask do you need to be throwing up a certain number of times to get meds? Mine seemed to be easing off but had a day in the week where I was sick 6 times and yesterday 4 times and ended up going to bed at 9pm to deal with nauseas feeling most nights

FateHasRedesignedMost · 16/10/2021 07:55

Bubbasmama2017

I don’t think there’s a specific number of times a day, but if they do ask remember they count the number as the number of times you vomit not the number of vomiting sessions (sorry to be graphic but I didn’t realise this the first time and my diagnosis was delayed as a result). So if you throw up once but then recover it’s 1, but if you’re stuck in the bathroom continuously vomiting or dry-heaving for half an hour afterwards you count those too. Eg vomited 15x in 30 minutes. At least that’s what my consultant said.

Hope you feel better soon!

Bubbasmama2017 · 16/10/2021 09:04

@FateHasRedesignedMost thanks for the advice. I hadn't realised they counted it like that, some days are way better than others so I'm hoping I'm nearing the end of the nausea

Positive21 · 16/10/2021 10:26

So sorry @PsychoDeMayo 💕 Take care of yourself xx

Positive21 · 16/10/2021 10:27

@aNewYorkerInLondon what a gorgeous photo!

cloudpopbump · 16/10/2021 12:44

Hey Mamas

Does anyone else have constant nausea but is only actually sick once or twice a day? I dry heave all the time but very little comes up (sorry to be so graphic).

The feeling of sickness hasn't really gone away and it's exhausting. Every time I change position (eg for sitting to standing) I then have a sickness session

aNewYorkerInLondon · 16/10/2021 16:35

@Positive21, thank you!!! It just makes me so excited to meet this little person!

@cloudpopbump, yes! I've felt wretched but it's been nearly all nausea and heaves and only a little actual vomiting. I've been prone to sick since I was a little kid, so I have some experience in stomach upset, and I think that the constant, unending nausea is just as exhausting as a cyclical nausea-vomit-relief-nausea-vomit-relief situation; however, I think our tooth enamel must be grateful! 😁

robyna · 16/10/2021 17:32

@cloudpopbump yep! I've not been sick at all but have had the most horrendous nausea since about 5 weeks. Some days it's okay-ish and I can get by and others I spend my evenings (mines worse in the evening) drooling over the toilet. Nothing comes up! I spoke to a few friends who have children and they've said that when they did throw up with morning sickness it was just like phlegmy foam 🤢

Jowd92 · 16/10/2021 19:42

So stressing out a bit when I went to the toilet earlier I had a bit of brown not had anything since but it’s really got me down ive been so unwell the last few days got a stinking cold from my little one who picked it up from nursery the nausea also and a water infection to top it all of :(

EastMidsGem · 17/10/2021 09:21

@Jowd92 How are you this morning? Try not to get too stressed. A lot of people do get spotting in the first trimester as I have but give your midwife a call if it continues and you’re worried. It’s not worth the stress.

SerendipitySunshine · 17/10/2021 10:41

How are you doing @jowd92 ? I've had the same. I was sent for a scan and baby is ok. It did take a few days to be seen though as I think it is quite acommin thing in pregnancy.

Jowd92 · 17/10/2021 11:01

I’m okay thank you I haven’t had anymore since think it’s just worried me as by my dates I should be 9weeks today and my last pregnancy I did have a bleed but early in at like 5weeks don’t think it helps I’ve just been really poorly the last week just finished antibiotics also for a water infection so I’m wondering if it could be to do with that I have my first mw app Tuesday going to speak to her then

Minster2012 · 17/10/2021 13:29

@Jowd92 a little bit of spotting can be very normal but I know the worry of dither pregnancies bearing on the next

I had my reassurance scan this morning and after a missed miscarriage last year & then another miscarriage in may this third time it's looking very positive, a baby! Measuring dates as I expected, around 8+3 to 8+5 with a lovely strong heartbeat

Ive still got a big hematoma (blood clot) so can expect more bleeding and I have to continue to rest as much as possible but ive only had a few days spotting so far so I'm feeling sooooo lucky 🥰he couldn't see any cysts now either so thats great

I'm actually filling out my midwives notes in advance of booking appointment tomorrow 😬maybe I can talk about this pregnancy like it's real now 🤞🏻🤞🏻

WyncyG · 17/10/2021 14:17

@cloudpopbump I've not been sick at all, this time or last time, which makes me feel a bit of a fraud. Bad enough near-constant nausea to occasionally grab a bucket or hug the toilet though. I really feel for anyone actually vomiting as that must drain whatever precious energy you've got left!
I've never been a vomiter and if my body wants to purge it goes out the other way 😬 which I have had this time. I know it's a symptom of ectopic pregnancies though so it does concern me a bit, but in absence of any other symptom I think it's fine.
Nausea peaked at 10-11 weeks last time but I'm hoping this is my peak (8 weeks) as I'm feeling rotten!

PairofPears · 17/10/2021 18:20

Anyone else got a really inconvenient craving? My nausea has ramped up massively in the last few days and the only thing that seems to help is a drink called juicy water, in the raspberry/black currant flavour. It’s £1.40 for a little bottle and I can only ever find it near me in Sainsbury’s and Starbucks! I craved it in my last pregnancy too and spent a fortune, never managed to find a source to buy them in bulk 😂

Bubbasmama2017 · 17/10/2021 19:24

@PairOfPears that sounds delicious. I'm enjoying ice cold water mostly not sure I've had any cravings although salty things do seem to help with the nausea!

Bubbasmama2017 · 17/10/2021 19:25

I've got just over 2 weeks til my scan and I'm so desperate to book a private one! I know nothing will really change in that time just want to know everything is ok in there still

AMM86 · 17/10/2021 21:01

I haven’t been on here for a while so have been catching up with everything just now!

@PsychoDeMayo I’m so incredibly sorry and sending you all the love and hugs in the world, lovely xxx

@Hbythesea I’m due around 25th - 27th May I think so not far ahead of you! How are you doing?

@aNewYorkerInLondon my sickness has really ramped up over the last week, and I usually have a stuffy nose in the mornings. The stuffy nose has been getting worse and now it seems to last most of the day so I’m assuming I’ve picked up a cold, too! It’s horrible. I’m blowing my nose constantly as I feel bunged up and then as soon as I sit down again I feel bunged up again and it makes me feel even more nauseous!

I have my first appointment with the midwife tomorrow. I have so many questions! My dating scan isn’t until November 15th. Still very anxious especially as people at work seem to be guessing. The more people are asking and talking I feel the more anxious I’m getting. Oh, and in other news, all I can eat is plain pizza, toast, dry biscuits and plain pasta. What a diet! Hot lemon squash is going down well, though.
