Hey everyone, I have been very quiet on here. Still having a lot of sickness and the doctor has kept me signed off work the past three weeks, I don't really see myself being able to go back next week either, so I might get signed off again, but we will see.

I had my dating scan yesterday and baby's measurements put me at 11 weeks and 3 days (I thought I was 11 weeks). But she said she is going to keep my dates at 11 weeks because my cycle was regular and therefore my due date is staying at May 2nd. Baby was kicking and moving their arms and body, was so lovely to see and made every ounce of sickness worthwhile. Told my parents yesterday and they are so excited, telling my husbands family this weekend. Hope everyone else is doing good. Hard to believe some of us will soon be out of the first trimester :)

Morning everyone!

I am so glad I found this post, I am due May 31st 2022 (well this is when I've worked it out for) do I have any pregnancy twins with similar due dates?
I am 7 weeks currently and received my first hospitals appointment through the post today, it says I have a physical appointment on the 23rd and then I have a phone call to go through all my information etc
How is everyone feeling? Xx

Jowd92 · 12/10/2021 15:32

I was meant to have my first mw app today but they called to cancel it last minute this morning said the mw didnt have enough time to do a first app as it takes an hour so now been rescheduled for next week not happy about waiting another week again the sickness is really getting me down now hopefully doctor will prescribe me something to help really feel awful 24/7 so drained :(

GinnyBee · 12/10/2021 15:48

I haven't even heard from my midwife yet. I called to self-refer almost two weeks ago, then I chased them last Thursday as I was told I should get a call back in a day or two but it had been a week, then I spoke to someone again on Friday who sounded surprised I hadn't heard from the mw yet because the notes in the system made it look like I had been contacted. She then assured me I'd get a call back shortly. I think practices differ but here they insist on taking bloods before 9 weeks and I'm 8+2 now so could do with getting an appointment soon.

Jowd92 · 12/10/2021 16:42

I’m 8w2d aswel if dates are correct I was just looking forward to having the app then they cancelled it the same morning I’ve also been suffering with terrible sickness doctor has prescribed me some anti sickness meds just read the leaflet and it says if pregnant do not take this so confused and won’t be taking it until I get to talk to them tomorrow again

Bubbasmama2017 · 12/10/2021 18:18

It sounds like most midwife services are quite disorganised! Hope you get an appointment soon.
I fell earlier today only on my knee and didn't bump my stomach but I'm so worried I jolted something inside. Would anyone else speak to a midwife about this? My back is quite sore (& my knee)

Bubbasmama2017 · 12/10/2021 18:19

I had to change my scan date so it was on a non working day and it's now at 12+5 so feel like I've got ages to wait! I was hoping they would bring it forward

EastMidsGem · 12/10/2021 18:33

I have had some brown spotting for just over a week and on Sunday night it changed to pink. Then I’ve had intermittent brown and pink spotting. I was told I had a SCH at 8 week scan but I have rang my GP and they have booked an emergency scan for Thursday. I feel like I’m losing my mind waiting from Monday morning until Thursday afternoon. Sad could do with some hugs

PsychoDeMayo · 12/10/2021 18:51

Hi @EastMidsGem so sorry to hear. Got a similar situation at the moment and the waiting is just the worst. It’s really hard to do anything other than read up on all the worst case scenarios. Fingers crossed the time passes quickly for you, thinking positive thoughts.

robyna · 12/10/2021 19:22

I think I've been quite lucky with my appointments but I am high risk so have had a few scans already, although the usual scans and my extra scans are via different services as I'm referred to a consultant. I had my booking appointment today after calling on Friday afternoon, but services by me are quite good as I live in a small town. She said I'd get my scan letter through in about a week so fingers crossed.

@EastMidsGem brown spotting seems to be more of a good sign rather than red blood especially if you've got a SCH as it usually means old blood. Hopefully it's nothing serious! I know how awful it is waiting for a scan, it's draining.

EastMidsGem · 12/10/2021 20:09

@PsychoDeMayo Thank you. I have my fingers crossed for you too. I feel exactly the same about reading up on the worst cases. It’s so hard to find consistent information about SCH’s and miscarriages and bleeding in general. I suppose because there are so many variations.

@robyna it’s the pink spotting that’s worrying me more than the brown! You’re right it is draining even though I’m working from home and not doing a lot, it’s emotionally draining.

Don’t you just wish there was a way to check that your baby is still ok in the comfort of your own home without having to wait days and days or weeks and weeks? I’m still suffering from morning sickness but that doesn’t necessarily mean everything is ok. My husband is really supportive and a very positive person - it’s both a blessing and very frustrating because I feel like it’s harder on him if something goes wrong

Hey ladies. Been feeling pretty rotten. Seems I've picked up a cold/cough That plus the nausea is pretty miserable.

I have a question for you: I've been on blood pressure meds for years and it was well controlled. We switched me to methyldopa when TTC and it was working fine. BP was even a little low, which was very encouraging. Since I've gotten this cold/cough though, my BP has gone up a lot. Have any of you experienced something like this in pregnancy?

JuneauBound · 13/10/2021 07:42

@EastMidsGem your post about a way to check on things in your own home made me giggle a bit. I also have an SCH and started googling the cost of home ultrasound scanners yesterday! I figured maybe it would be worth it when you factor in all the hours DP and I spend in the EPU... (for anyone who's wondering, they seem to start at about £4K and luckily my paranoia doesn't quite stretch to those extremes... yet)

No experience of this, sorry but it sounds rough all around. I hope you feel better soon and get a chance to take it easy x
Minster2012 · 13/10/2021 07:53

@EastMidsGem I also have a large SCH found at 6 weeks, I had one in my last pregnancy too (which sadly ended in MC) but this time it's larger & they told me I can expect bleeding and unless it's a "gush" to try not to worry. I'm 8 weeks now, I've had some spotting since and I'm trying to remain calm, focus on one day at a time and tick it off. SCH can be reabsorbed too or the spotting could be that getting out which would actually be good 🤞🏻have you been told to take baby aspirin?

@aNewYorkerInLondon no experience of that I'm afraid

aNewYorkerInLondon · 13/10/2021 07:59

thanks @Minster2012 and @JuneauBound!

EastMidsGem · 13/10/2021 08:50

@JuneauBound Mine doesn’t stretch to that either! Plus it might not be as easy as it seems to do one yourself

@Minster2012 I have been prescribed to take aspirin from 12 weeks but not to do with the SCH. The midwife was quite dismissive of it which didn’t comfort me somehow. I will ask about aspirin though at the scan tomorrow if everything turns out ok. I think you just see any kind of blood and automatically fear the worst. Have you had any stomach cramps with your SCH if you don’t mind me asking? And is it just when you wipe you see the bleeding or anything on a pad? Mines still not showing anything on a pad and cramps have been very mild on and off for weeks even before my 8 week scan

Minster2012 · 13/10/2021 09:58

@EastMidsGem I've just had a few days of wiping brown blood, nothing on a pad. Our RMC recommends 150mg baby aspirin per day (from BFP if you've had losses before) and I'm also on fragmin (a blood thinner injection) once a day as I have a clotting condition "sticky blood" so I'm more prone to clotting too. I've been on both since BFP & I still got a SCH! But I know a lot of Ppl who have had them & healthy pregnancies so I'm optimistic. I've had quite a few cramps & lots of twinges but I'm putting that down to growing pains I don't think it's linked.

@JuneauBound we just need a little womb windows 🤣

PsychoDeMayo · 13/10/2021 12:31

Hey ladies, had my scan this morning for the the bleeding I've been having. It has turned into basically a period over the last day and a half so was expecting the worst.
Well, we saw our wee one and there was a good heartbeat! Im pretty shocked tbh. Doc didn’t mention size and I was too taken aback to ask, but i’m assuming if that was a concern she would’ve mentioned. There’s blood in my uterus which she said ‘isn’t normal but does happen’. Again, I asked zero questions about this because i was so shocked🙈
We’re 7weeks 6 days along so certainly not out of the woods yet but a much more positive outcome than I was expecting.
Got another scan on Monday (which was scheduled before recent bleeding) so will try and remember to ask some stuff then if all is still well 😂
@Minster2012 I’m cracking up at womb windows 🤣

EastMidsGem · 13/10/2021 12:51

@PsychoDeMayo that’s fantastic news, so happy for you!

PsychoDeMayo · 13/10/2021 12:54
@PsychoDeMayo that’s fantastic news, so happy for you!
Thank you. Other half and I have barely spoken two words to each other since we got home, both in slight shock I think!

EastMidsGem · 13/10/2021 12:59

@PsychoDeMayo I’m not surprised you’re in shock - I know I’ll be the same tomorrow either way I think.

That’s wonderful though. Just goes to show that google can do one!

PsychoDeMayo · 13/10/2021 13:02

@EastMidsGem yep, sometimes wish the internet didn’t exist when it comes to things like this, there’s such a thing as too much information! Everything crossed for good news tomorrow, will be thinking of you.

EastMidsGem · 13/10/2021 13:09

@PsychoDeMayo Thank you so much

Positive21 · 13/10/2021 13:54

@PsychoDeMayo glad it went well for you!

Anyone else just quiet and bobbing along? Bean is now 10+1. I'm still exhausted with sore boobs, peeing lots and can't eat my normal sized meals without feeling very bloated and sick!

16 days till my 12 week scan and I do feel less anxious this time but I imagine I'll get more anxious as we get closer again. Feeling so lucky I just want everything to be ok.

Hope you are all doing well xx
