@hewegoagain thinking of you and sending huge hugs

fmac2987 · 09/10/2021 09:15

Hey all, is this a common feeling? I feel like I must be completely mad!

We have a 17 month old, and I'm currently 10 weeks with the second. And I am feeling such an overwhelming feeling of dread. Some days its so bad I feel like I can't have the baby. Its actually quite scary because I really do want one and to give our girl a sibling.

I think it's because I'm so fatigued and sick all the time, and when our first wakes up in the night with teething or something else, I find it really draining. I get really upset because I feel like It's going to feel like this but twice as bad when the second comes.

Is this normal? Not sure what to do to make myself feel better 😞

AMM86 · 09/10/2021 09:36

Introducing my blob!
Early scan at 7 weeks and it’s in the right place and has a heartbeat.
Fingers crossed!

@hewegoagain so sorry to hear what you are going through. I can't imagine how hard these 10 days are for you. ❤️ prepare for the worst but hope for the best.

Bubbasmama2017 · 09/10/2021 10:19

@fmac2987 I know the feeling and had been quite upset in the week worrying about how my daughter will take the news, she's nearly 4 so she's had us on her own for a long time! Also haven't been my most fun or relaxed self to play with her so feeling bad about that. I do want her to have a sibling though and definitely wanted another baby so don't want to feel like this.

robyna · 09/10/2021 16:25

@AMM86 what a beautiful little blob! I also have a little blob. Here it is sticking its lil arm up waving. You can see the head shape properly on the right hand side here and the yolk sac on the right.

I mean the yolk sac on the left 🤦🏻‍♀️

Aquarius1987 · 09/10/2021 18:34

@hewegoagain really sorry to hear this sending lots of love.

Aquarius1987 · 09/10/2021 18:34

Is anyone suffering from nausea in the evenings? Any suggestions on how to ease this? I am fine in the day, gets to 6pm and it kicks in and I'm constantly just laid on the sofa all evening, also struggling to eat dinners.

robyna · 09/10/2021 18:45

@Aquarius1987 yep! Mine gets worse throughout the day, I'm currently in bed trying not to be sick. I've found sour wine gums helps really well and mashed potato for some reason

Aquarius1987 · 09/10/2021 18:54

@robyna it's awful isn't it. I'm just about to try and eat some plain pasta then getting into bed. X

robyna · 09/10/2021 19:02

@Aquarius1987 pasta with a tiny bit of cheese has worked well for me. I'm currently trying mashed potato and gravy which when I was cooking it made me gag but now I'm eating it I feel better

Aquarius1987 · 09/10/2021 19:09

@robyna yes have added a bit of cheese. How far along are you? I'm praying this stops at 12 weeks and doesn't last too much longer! X

robyna · 09/10/2021 19:50

@Aquarius1987 I'm either 8+2 or 8+5 - had two scans and they said different measurements. I've had nausea since about 5 weeks but it's just getting worse. I've not been sick luckily but I just feel so nauseas that I think if I was sick at least it'd be some kind of relief 🤢

Minster2012 · 09/10/2021 20:57

@robyna & @AMM86 what lovely scans, waving how cute! Can't wait to get a good scan

AMM86 · 09/10/2021 21:17

@Aquarius1987 YES!! I can hardly ever eat much of my dinner and have noticed the bouts of nausea come at 10:30am, 5-6pm and then late in the evenings forcing me to bed early. I try to drink plenty and nibbling ginger biscuits seems to help a little. But I am equally after advice

GinnyBee · 09/10/2021 21:23

@Aquarius1987 I was eating just apples and ready salted crisps for two days as I felt so horrible. Haven't been sick once, but had a couple of days when I felt like absolute trash from 10 minutes after I woke up until I went to bed again in the evening. Last three days have been better and I've managed real food again.

fmac2987 · 09/10/2021 22:29

Yes! Its bouts of sickness and I find its always around lunch and dinner. With my first I stopped eating dinner entirely and had a small dry snack or grapes. I lived on grapes.
Jowd92 · 10/10/2021 07:12

Hi all I’m 8weeks today by my dates the nausea and sickness has completely wiped me out now for the past week have felt awful and all I want to do is sleep, I have my first mw app on Tuesday but on the phone when booking the receptionist did say to me that apparently first scans are now 16-20 weeks which I said surely not ? All my previous I have had dating scans around 12 weeks I’m already stressing something is wrong so hoping mw can clear this up for me otherwise I will be going private to see if all is okay has anyone else been told this about scans ?

GinnyBee · 10/10/2021 07:58

@Jowd92 I don't think that's right. They'd completely miss the window some of the screenings if first scans were that late and the other tests are much more expensive to run so I doubt they'd ever do that.

AMM86 · 10/10/2021 08:22

@Jowd92 hmm doesn’t sound right. Mine has been booked for 15th November which will be almost 13 weeks.

Bubbasmama2017 · 10/10/2021 08:31

@Jowd92 mine has been booked for exactly 12 weeks.
Maybe she meant the next midwife appointment? I think that's 16 weeks after your booking
