And there was me thinking my nausea was just a feeling that passes.
Nope, having to dive out of the car whilst reversing on to my own driveway to be sick was not glamorous!

acupofteamakeseverythingbetter · 07/10/2021 18:11

How are you all coping with sickness and working? I've had to wfh today but am expected in the office 3 days a week 🤢 I just don't think I can face getting on the train!!

Celina94 · 07/10/2021 18:21

Was previously dated to be 9 weeks 3 days today by NHS. Had a private scan today and baby measuring 10 weeks 3 days so seems they are thriving! Little legs and arm! So happy. This has really lifted my spirits and I so needed this scan in the midst of this terrible sickness I'm experiencing. Makes it feel so worth it. Here's a photo of little bean x

@ExpatNYerLondon I'm the same as @GinnyBee we get one midwife throughout who you can text etc so that's great, no idea on recommendations, not my area of the country!

@aNewYorkerInLondon never knew that! Good to know if I get sick, currently no real symptoms here which in itself is a worry of course 😩🙄but @Bubbasmama2017 if I was being sick twice a day I'd def get recommended anti sickness, they aren't harmful so why not try feel better?!

@Elsie2021 im very similar to you. In fact only one day behind & had a miscarriage in may and a missed miscarriage last year and I'm struggling on a lot of days because I genuinely have next to no symptoms which makes me fear the worst. I bought the zoe Clarke-coates book "pregnancy after loss" and I'm finding it very useful it goes day by day and it helps me

@GinnyBee im also under the rmc and had a scan last week at 6+2 and don't get any more, I know 2 Ppl who are getting another one but I'm having to go private 😔😫

@AMM86 that's definitely not glamorous!

@Celina94 that's great!

GinnyBee · 07/10/2021 20:16

@Minster2012 That sucks, only one scan! I get three Shock at 6, 8 and 10 weeks. But I don't get anything else as I don't qualify for any investigations yet, they literally just offered the extra support of scans every 2 weeks, and a prescription for progesterone.

@acupofteamakeseverythingbetter I had an easier day today which might be total coincidence but today was also the first time I tried having smaller meals more frequently. I'm usually strictly three meals per day and no snacks in between kind of girl, but today I had yoghurt with fruit for breakfast which I ate slowly at my desk, then a small sandwich for lunch around 1pm and an apple at 3pm. Got home and was starving and starting to feel rubbish so had a slice of bread with some cheese and cucumber and it helped a lot! But I haven't actually been sick yet, just all-day nausea so far.

Minster2012 · 07/10/2021 20:35

@GinnyBee wow 😩that's great! Dead jealous. I have progesterone, fragmin blood thinning injections, 150mg baby aspirin per day & only the one scan despite having cysts & a blood clot near the fetus 😩

MissM94 · 07/10/2021 22:07

Hi ladies, I'm on the other May 2022 thread but it's not as active as this one.. I'm just wondering has anyone else had any twinges/aches next to their hip? Baby is on my right side and that's where the twinges are, due to the amount of growing they do between weeks 8 and 12 I presume little bean is just stretching my cervix haha, no cramps or spotting so not too worried just thought I'd see if it was something everyone experiences haha

hewegoagain · 08/10/2021 07:31

Morning all. Had a tiny bit of spotting this morning, like a rust colour, just when I wiped. I know it's probably nothing but all my anxiety from after MC has come back with a vengeance.

I don't want to bother DH at work as it's probably nothing, but we'll probably head to the hospital this evening and get a scan just to make sure everything is ok. The Spanish medical system is great in that aspect that I can go into the ER and get a scan within 30 minutes, no waiting around.

Trying to be positive as I had some bleed around this time (10 weeks I think, currently 9) with DS and everything was absolutely fine. Finding it difficult not to cry at the moment ☹️

Positive21 · 08/10/2021 09:38

@MissM94 I actually had three small, sharp pains on Tuesday. I messaged the online midwife services and they said it's normal as long as no other symptoms etc. They were only very quick, I had about 3 in 30 minutes all on my lower left side and nothing since then so I think it was just stretching pain like the midwife said. It's so easy to overthink it though isn't it!

@hewegoagain that's a really good system. Im sure everything is ok, but will be thinking of you 💕 have a little cry if you want though. Sometimes it helps xx

MissM94 · 08/10/2021 10:57

@Positive21 ahh that's reassuring then! Yeah luckily they're not painful or crampy, just an ache or twinge that washes over me haha so so easy to overthink!

robyna · 08/10/2021 11:17

Just an update: had a scan today and saw a tiny little jellybean and a strong heartbeat. Measuring 8+1 which works out perfectly in line with my last period. I've not stopped smiling since! I've never seen it as all of my other scans had no heartbeat. Has anyone else had a scan yet?

Sarah239 · 08/10/2021 11:55

@MissM94 I have had twinges too, sometimes it happens when I sneeze or cough or move a certain way. I don't feel overly concerned as I assume there's changes and stretching and growing going on in there!

@hewegoagain wishing you all the best and keeping fingers crossed everything is fine for you x must be disconcerting even though it can be totally normal! Take care x

I am 8+3 today, had booking in appt with midwife yesterday which was exciting, asked me all sorts of fun questions! Flu jab tomorrow, blood tests booked for next Weds and she said I should get my 12 week scan letter within 1-2 weeks 🤞 Still doesn't feel real but at least things are starting to happen now!

Happy Friday everyone x

Sarah239 · 08/10/2021 11:56

@robyna congratulations! I had a scan on Sunday and saw a heartbeat, I am similar to you 8+3! It was magic but also kind of surreal!!

robyna · 08/10/2021 12:09

@Sarah239 it's amazing isn't it. I've got a print of the scan but I can't seem to work it out as it was abdominal so it's kinda just a little gummy bear blob but it's a perfect gummy bear blob

aNewYorkerInLondon · 08/10/2021 13:20

Hi ladies! I can't focus at work so I'm hoping you all may be able to help me.

I need to choose a consultant OB for private maternity care at Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea Hospital.

Anyone have any good or bad reviews of the consultants from previous pregnancies?

I'm looking for a consultant that will support me in as non-interventionalist a birth as I can have, considering I have some factors that require me to take consultant / hospital delivery.

Also, I am aware that the NHS service is very good. There are several good reasons we've decided to go private and that decision is finalized.

Thank you for your help!

MissM94 · 08/10/2021 14:56

@Sarah239 ahh thank you! You're putting my mind at ease haha

hewegoagain · 08/10/2021 19:10

Update

Scan showed a gestational sac but no baby or heart beat. Booked in for another scan in 10 days but not hopeful to be honest. Should be 9 weeks and had a positive test on CD 30 so chances of having ovulated late very unlikely.

Devastated to be honest. I was convinced everything was going okay this time.

robyna · 08/10/2021 19:32

@hewegoagain I'm so sorry, I really hope everything works out for you but I've been there. It's such a horrible moment and then waiting 10 days is awful too. I have everything crossed for you.

PsychoDeMayo · 08/10/2021 19:55

So sorry to hear that. Everything crossed for a wee miracle and strength to you no matter what happens.

GinnyBee · 08/10/2021 20:23

So sorry to hear that @hewegoagain :( that sucks! Big hugs and take care of yourself!

Positive21 · 08/10/2021 21:46

So sorry @hewegoagain please take care of yourself, we are all here as/when you need us 💕

YummyMummyXoX · 08/10/2021 21:47

Thinking of you @hewegoagain xx

Minster2012 · 08/10/2021 22:05

So sorry to read that @hewegoagain, all the love

Am I right in thinking you should see things on an abdomen scan from around 8 weeks?

hewegoagain · 09/10/2021 06:59

@Minster2012 I had an internal scan, they said it was still too early to go an external scan.

@robyna, @PsychoDeMayo, @GinnyBee, @Positive21, @YummyMummyXoX and @Minster2012 thank you all for your messages of support. The next 10 days are going to be horrible, I don't even want to let myself hope that by some miracle things will all be ok. It's so unlikely, I feel like I've given up hope and I just want it over with now.

JuneauBound · 09/10/2021 08:40

So sorry @hewegoagain that's so stressful. Fingers crossed for you x
