@Hyggeandhugs - you haven't ruined anything. We're all hoping and praying for a good scan for you on Friday!

I've got my Panorama NIPT scan and blood draw tomorrow and I'm starting to get really nervous. DH isn't allowed in the clinic with me but he's coming anyway and will wait outside to help me stay calm and know he's right there should anything with the scan look wrong. I feel really lucky.
Where are you getting your scan @aNewYorkerInLondon ? I have mine this week and now realise that I'm not sure my partner can join. He's coming regardless but it would be nice to have moral support in the room!

Sarah239 · 05/10/2021 20:49

@Hyggeandhugs I will keep everything crossed for you. Must be so difficult not knowing either way, thinking of you and sending you so many hugs. Praying for good news for you! And please don't feel like you are "ruining" the mood of the thread - we all need support from time to time and you certainly do now! We are all here for eachother, no matter the outcome ❤️

@aNewYorkerInLondon good luck tomorrow!

aNewYorkerInLondon · 05/10/2021 20:54

Hi @JuneauBound! I'm going to the "this is my: London Screening Centre" for the scan (www.thisismy.co.uk). I chose them because they offer panorama with the full results including microdeletions, where a lot of other clinics wouldn't give the full results. I understand that this is because some of the full-panel results are less reliable than just the main ones that all the NIPT screenings provide; however, I am a science-minded person with a great interest in genetics and a full understanding of what a screening can and cannot provide, so I want all the results upon which I can base any further testing decisions. Anyway, it still stinks that hubs can't go in with me, but it was important to me to have all the information that my blood can provide.

aNewYorkerInLondon · 05/10/2021 20:55

Thanks @Sarah239!!

LemonSwan · 05/10/2021 21:49

Hi everyone,

had my scan today. Was booked urgently as was unknown last period date (been way to busy) and last one I remember was a weird one and midwife thought may have been implantation bleeding.

So the estimate was 10-14 weeks.

Turns out I am 10 weeks and what has been named 'wee peanut' is looking healthy so far and has a heartbeat.

It moved its arms!

Thanks @aNewYorkerInLondon I am going to the Birth Company. Still haven't decided which test but probably not Panorama simply because it takes two weeks at TBC and my impatience is stronger than my scientific curiosity... :) thanks for heads up on partners. I've just emailed them to check!

@LemonSwan!! So happy for you and your wee peanut! Your picture made me smile so much!

@JuneauBound, glad to help! I hope your partner is allowed to join you!

I've been taking the Active Iron Pregnancy vitamins (available from Holland&Barrett) and feeling good. No sickness even if taken on an empty stomach. Unfortunately the Pregnacare brand made me realllly sick...
Bubbasmama2017 · 06/10/2021 07:03

@nuttella1 that's so interesting, I've been taking them just before bed but maybe it takes a while to take effect I'm certainly more constipated than normal which I think is due to iron. Over the weekend I forgot to take them 2 days in a row and I felt so much better but could have just been a coincidence! Might try the ones you've mentioned as I'm almost out of the pregnacare ones

PairofPears · 06/10/2021 07:12

@Bubbasmama2017 I’m taking separate iron, folic acid and vitamin D because Pregnacare made me feel awful in my first pregnancy!

IF456 · 06/10/2021 07:50

Thanks @maymum94 for setting the group up :)

IF456 · 06/10/2021 07:55

Hi all,
Has anyone experienced right side hip pain? I am 6 weeks and 5 days had it last night for few hours and ended up falling asleep in the end but nothing this morning.
I have had previous miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy so I feel like I am more worried with this pregnancy

Lady929 · 06/10/2021 09:35

I’m 9+4 . Had a tiny amount of pink blood when I wiped a few days ago. Having quite a few twinges and cramps over the last few days but not painful, just a bit uncomfortable sometimes. No more blood. Spoke to a lot of people who say this is relatively normal but when I look up on google it always tells me the dreaded miscarriage.

Has anyone had the same? Don’t want to ring midwife unless I get more blood or cramps become painful.

maymum94 · 06/10/2021 09:53

@IF456 anytime, so glad to have ladies join me along this journey.

How is everyone been ? Xx

@Lady929
When I had my first born back in 2016. I bleed about 4 times some were light bleeds you would only see when you wipe and others were little bit more noticeable on the knickers and this was during my the first and second trimester, everytime I thought it was miscarriage as the more I read online but it turned out to be relatively normal.
I would say it's possibly spotting you might be having x

aNewYorkerInLondon · 06/10/2021 11:11

Super annoyed here - the clinic called me, literally as I was putting my shoes on and the cab was waiting, to postpone my appointment due to an equipment failure in the exam room. Apparently, they rent the space once per week for maternity exams and no one told them that there was a problem. Of course, no one gets there early to check the equipment and inform patients at a responsible hour. That would surely be inconvenient to the clinic staff to have to have someone get in hours before the first appointment to check that all is well. I'm sure there's nothing else like paperwork that could be done in that early morning time between checking that the clinic can see patients and when the first appointment is set. No way that should be considered a cost of doing business when you don't maintain your own space. What a bunch of clowns.

JuneauBound · 06/10/2021 11:30

Oh I'm so sorry @aNewYorkerInLondon that is SO frustrating. Can you get your money back and book a last minute one somewhere else?

aNewYorkerInLondon · 06/10/2021 11:49

Not really. They provide some specific things that I want, so I'm a bit stuck. I don't think it would have bothered me as much if they had called at 8am.

But I'll tell you, pregnancy rage is a real thing!

Bubbasmama2017 · 06/10/2021 11:51

@aNewYorkerInLondon that's so frustrating! Hope you're ok

LeeRainbow · 06/10/2021 11:56

Hi all,

Kind of been absent 1st trimester is kicking my butt, but its all worth it as booked a private early scan on 2nd and we got to see our beautiful rainbow with its heart beating away at 8w5d due date 9th May 2022, have my first midwife appointment tomorrow and my dating scan 19th october actually feel excited now, currently 9w2d. hope your all well.

Minster2012 · 06/10/2021 12:45

Hi ladies

Can I join please? I'm 7+1 EDD 24th may from a scan at EPU last week.

I'm really anxious, hence leaving late to join a pregnancy thread. I've had a missed miscarriage last year after ivf, then 2 failed ivfs with our remaining embryos & then when going for a new round of ivf we found my egg reserves had bounced back & I got pregnant naturally which ended in early miscarriage, I had a subchorionic hematoma too (blood clot).

Now pregnant naturally again & under the recurrent miscarriage clinic where I got the scan last week...first scan should've been 6 weeks & was showing a GS sac & yolk sac but they told me there were cystic areas & it was likely a partial molar pregnancy (rare random occurance which would end in MC or they would end it with medical management)

HOWEVER 2 days later the top sonographer scanned me & told me that was rubbish, there was an embryo with a heartbeat 💓& the areas were cysts elsewhere (which just need to be watched) & I have another large subchorionic hematoma so I need to "treat myself like glass", and I'll likely bleed a lot but shouldn't worry unless it's a "gush" (hopefully that reassures @Lady929, I had some spotting the other week & all fine)

So maybe it's 3rd time lucky, we are desperately hoping so 🤞🏻🌈❤️

We also have a DS (3) who was carried by my best friend as a surrogate when I was undergoing 5 years of chemo

@IF456 I got right sided shooting pains in my hip yesterday, when I got up every time I think it's all just growing pains

Phew thanks for reading!
