@Sanguinely I’m really pleased too you saw a lovely midwife. It does help to have someone qualified reassure you. I think any kind of bleeding freaks all of us out when it happens. Really glad to hear you’re staying positive because that’s the hardest bit.

I find I have really down days where I feel like somethings going to go wrong. I had some brown discharge this morning but like I said before I was told on my scan on Monday that I have a SCH (sub chorionic haematoma) and to expect some bleeding or brown discharge. I’ve chosen not to ring the doctors at this point as it was a small amount and nothing since plus they did tell me to expect it. I’ve still had nausea today as usual and already got the midwife appt Monday so will talk to her then

@Positive21 so pleased your scan went well, that’s fantastic news

Positive21 · 01/10/2021 13:36

Thank you all so much 💕💕

Bubbasmama2017 · 01/10/2021 14:33

@Positive21 great news!

I was feeling almost back to normal this morning then the nausea came back this afternoon, not good! Got my scan tomorrow really hoping everything is ok!

SerendipitySunshine · 01/10/2021 16:56

Thanks so much @Etonmess20 @Bubbasmama2017 - I'm waiting for the midwife to call me back, but apparently no slots left for EPU scans until Monday. Still just very faint brown when I wipe.

Emily199034 · 01/10/2021 17:02

@SerendipitySunshine

Last night I noticed the tiniest bit of brown blood when wiping. I'm so petrified this is the start of a miscarriage. Does anyone have any experience of this please?
I had a week of brown discharge at about 6-7 weeks. I had a scan at 7 plus 4 and everything was fine. They said it can be normal, not had anything since.
Etonmess20 · 01/10/2021 17:10

@SerendipitySunshine I'd say it's a good sign that it's not changed colour/got heavier & you're not having pains. I guess if you wanted peace of mind you could try to book a private scan over the weekend if EPU can't get you in until Monday.
I went for a private scan the next day after I'd had some, my DP didn't think it was necessary (& in hindsight he was right tbh) but if that's what's going to stop you worrying then maybe it's worth it x

SerendipitySunshine · 01/10/2021 17:52

Thank you so much @Etonmess20 - I feel like I'm going a bit crazy with it. Hearing it's normal is a big help though!

Etonmess20 · 01/10/2021 18:03

@SerendipitySunshine I was told by the sonographer that it was probably just the baby implanting a bit more & completely normal.
That doesn't mean it's not fully understandable that you're anxious about it though.
Definitely be kind to yourself & take it easy this weekend x

Evening ladies, newcomer here. I already posted on the first thread which made an appearance on the front page and didn't realise there was pt. 2 already!

I'm 6+5 today so from LMP due date would be 22nd May. I have two losses behind me within the last year so I'm not planning any announcements yet, let's see if this one sticks. Kind of nervous. I had an early scan yesterday where everything was looking as it should, but since my first loss happened after positive early scan, I'm super nervous now for my next one in two weeks when I'll be 8+4 as that'll be further than I got with the other two if still all fine.

This week I've also been feeling progressively worse. Been fine until Monday, almost gave up hope already as I didn't have any symptoms, but then on Monday morning felt completely exhausted despite sleeping well, and from Wednesday have started having nausea too. Feeling pretty pants at the moment honestly. Haven't been sick, but just constantly feel hungover, burping lots. Don't know what would even help! I'm sipping some sparkling water hoping to get the burps out but I think it's making me feel worse.

aNewYorkerInLondon · 01/10/2021 19:27

Hi @GinnyBee! I've been feeling exactly like that, hung over, since about week 5ish. It let up for a few days so I got nervous and had an early scan. All was well at that, and the sickness returned a few days later worse than before! I find that some days fizzy water is ok, and others it gives me heartburn. Everyone's had different things help. For me, not letting myself get too empty or too full has helped. Chicken bone broth has been really good too.

I'm 9 weeks today and will have another scan on Wednesday when I go for an NIPT. I'm trying to be super positive as much as I can that things will be ok. Really looking forward to trimester 2 both for confidence and hopefully for a tapering off of the unpleasant symptoms!

EastMidsGem · 01/10/2021 19:47

@GinnyBee Welcome! I have one previous loss which was in May, I’m sorry to hear about your losses. I have also had what I call “baby gas”. I really don’t fancy anything fizzy at all.

I agree with @aNewYorkerInLondon in terms of not getting too full or empty of a stomach. I’m finding it hard to balance that and so still getting pretty bad nausea

Sarah239 · 02/10/2021 09:13

Hi @GinnyBee I am 6+6 today due on May 22nd so same as you! I think I may in reality be a few days ahead though but we will see! Having an early scan tomorrow 🤞 Sorry you are feeling rough, for me last week was horrible with gastric symptoms but I've felt better in that sense this week. My gp said I may have had viral gastritis though. This week I have mainly just been tired and wiped out, with some waves of nausea.

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 02/10/2021 09:27

Hi all, I haven’t posted in a while as I’ve been busy moving house. It’s been a long time coming but finally moved on Monday so have just been busy settling in and unpacking. Had my inlaws staying to ‘help’ which was challenging, especially as I’ve had very bad morning sickness and didn’t want to tell them I’m pregnant yet. They kept asking if I was ok, they didn’t notice me being sick just looking tired and ill.

I’ve now come down with a horrible cold my 4 year old has brought home from school. He had a bad cough last week so we got him pcr tested and was negative so fairly sure it’s just a cold but that combined with morning sickness is making me feel pretty miserable!

Sarah239 · 02/10/2021 09:44

Ladies I am just wondering, does anyone know if under Covid restrictions partners are not allowed to come to 12 week ultrasound scans on NHS? Would it depend on the hospital? Suddenly nervous my husband might not be allowed to come... but not sure!

Sarah239 · 02/10/2021 09:46

Oh @MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat I hope you feel better soon! Must be rubbish! And the stress of moving too. We are considering if we would want to move during pregnancy. Before I found out we were planning to move but now thinking we might hold off as we could probably manage here! Worried about finances really! Hope you settle in ok x

EastMidsGem · 02/10/2021 09:58

@Sarah239 I think it does depend on the hospital but the ones around me allow a partner in to the actual scan but they can’t come into the waiting room. They wait just in the corridor! I believe most places will allow them in for the scan part

GinnyBee · 02/10/2021 11:57

@Sarah239 Might depend on the hospital but where I am my husband was allowed into my early scan, I had one on the NHS due to previous losses. I'd be surprised if they didn't let him in on the dating scan if he's allowed in the early scans.

@MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat sorry to hear you're feeling rubbish! Hope you feel better soon. Colds suck anyway but combined with morning sickness must be rough.

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 02/10/2021 12:19

Thanks @Sarah239 and @GinnyBee

It was a very long and stressful process moving but I’m really glad I’ve done it now rather than later on in the pregnancy or after the baby is born. Still have a lot of boxes to unpack but nice to have more space already.

@sarah239 I’d check with your hospital but I think a lot of places are now allowing partners. My husband won’t be able to come to ours though as children aren’t allowed in and we have no one to look after our 2 so will just have to go by myself. Not ideal but I think all being well we will go for a private one at 16 weeks to find out the sex so he will be able to come then.

BelleBox19 · 02/10/2021 12:24

Hello! Can I join you ladies please? Just sent a request to the fb group xx

forestlovr · 02/10/2021 12:42

When do you usually get the letter about the 12 weeks scan date? I'm 10 weeks today, this is my first pregnancy so not sure when to expect it!

SerendipitySunshine · 02/10/2021 13:30

Brown blood seems to have stopped. I'm hoping I can get a scan on monday to put my mind at rest. So worrying!

Bubbasmama2017 · 02/10/2021 19:07

@SerendipitySunshine that's great news

Bubbasmama2017 · 02/10/2021 19:09

I had my early scan today and measuring a bit ahead, lovely to see the little baby and heartbeat! Roll on the 12 week one now hope I get an appointment letter through soon so I have that to look forward to

Sarah239 · 02/10/2021 20:20

I have got an early private scan at 11:45 tomorrow... 7w0d or 7w1d depending on which app I look at... just shaved my legs for the first time in weeks for the sonographer 😂

Getting very nervous now. I have a feeling I will just burst into tears whatever happens, I feel so anxious after waiting so long for this pregnancy. I almost can't imagine that there will be something there, part of me feels like it's bound to be a mistake or my body playing tricks on me and I'm not actually pregnant?! Ugh I just hope it goes well! This anxiety is torture!

@SerendipitySunshine I would have thought it's a good sign that it has stopped, and that it was brown! Sending hugs. Seek advice from midwife if you can. I hope you get a reassurance scan! x

Sarah239 · 02/10/2021 20:21

Oh and congratulations @Bubbasmama2017 I am so glad your scan went well 🥰!!
