@stephlouwaz with my first I didn't have any nausea until 7 weeks, then I was sick at least daily until 14 weeks. It's really common not to have any symptoms at 5 weeks, a lot of people don't even know they're pregnant.

Aquarius1987 · 31/08/2021 20:26

Hi everyone, I'm 4+2 today, due 8th May! Still doesn't seem real and don't want to get my hopes up yet as still very early! X

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 31/08/2021 21:19

Welcome @stephlouwaz and @Aquarius1987 and try not to worry. It is very common to not have any symptoms at this stage. Other than a missed period I’d have had no idea I was pregnant until at least 6 weeks in both my previous pregnancies.

Positive21 · 31/08/2021 21:26

Can I please join? I got my BFP on Sunday morning, as of today I am 4 weeks, due may 10th.

I'm still in shock, incredibly worried about CP or MM but trying to remind myself I can't do anything if that were to happen, so I may as well just embrace it!

Only my OH and a very close friend knows. Part of me is scared to tell family too soon, but the other half of me thinks there's no way I can keep quiet until an early scan!

Think I will book a private/early scan in the morning. Was going to wait until I heard back from the midwife but realise I may have jumped the gun with that!

LS2020 · 01/09/2021 07:19

@Positive21 I’m the same, I had a CP at 4+4 last time and I’m 4+2 and I’m getting v worried but as you say, only time will tell anyway, I can’t stop it!

Was worried I felt less sick this morning and now I feel horrendously nauseous, I don’t know it’s it’s pregnancy or anxiety related 😂 my FRER looked the same as yesterday which stressed me a bit too: they’re so dark but not as dark as control, it’s driving me loopy!

Hope everyone is doing well and welcome to newcomers!

RosettaTheGardenFairy · 01/09/2021 07:36

@LS2020 - ah that's interesting, you're the same due date as me, right? About 09 May? I also woke up feeling no nausea but it's now kicked in, and my test line didn't look any darker than yesterday!

I started thinking I'd maybe taken the test in a different light or with a different background or on a different phone - what a nutter Grin
I bought 50 easy@home tests the day before I got my BFP so I'm poas-ing every time I go to the toilet which started out fun and is now a bit of a chore!

LS2020 · 01/09/2021 08:05

@RosettaTheGardenFairy yes I am! Ooh how interesting. It’s like I’m being punished now for worrying though, my stomach is so unhappy and head is banging!

I’m fortunately someone who can wfh and actually considering a nap today I’m that tired. Hahaha I put my phone torch on mine as if that would change anything!! Oh gosh once a day is stress enough, I don’t envy you that 🙈

maymum94 · 01/09/2021 10:14

Welcome anyone new just joining us and congratulations.

Woke up to another awful morning of sickness I've requested to be seen by the gp ASAP as I can't handle the all day sickness again.

Has anyone thought about potential travel systems yet.

I still have minimal symptoms just my boobs are bigger 😂 much to my partners delight

aNewYorkerInLondon · 01/09/2021 11:45

Good morning, ladies! Any of you non-first-timers done an "NIPT" (aka "Harmony") test before? Thinking of scheduling one at 10 weeks. Would love to hear your prior experiences.

maymum94 · 01/09/2021 11:57

@aNewYorkerInLondon I haven't but in my last baby group there were a few that did all very accurate they new what they were having straight away early. If I think about it I think most were in the USA that got it maybe one or two over here. Can't give any advice on it as I don't remember how they said it went only know the results were spot on.

@summertimes2021 I won't be getting much as my little girl is 15months so I haven't got rid of any of hers if it's a boy I think we'll just get him a new wardrobe if it's a girl again she may get a few pieces here and there otherwise I have plenty that is almost new still half never got used with my first. I may look at a double pram do I can have them both it it though.

RosettaTheGardenFairy · 01/09/2021 12:06

@summertimes2021 - that made me giggle, do you mean a travel system for your bigger boobs?!

@aNewYorkerInLondon - I had the NIPT test with previous 2 DC, was a simple blood test and was happy to get some reassurance things looked good. Never required any follow-up on either of mine so I don't know what that part would look like.

@maymum94 - I'm sorry you're so ill, puts my nausea/sickness in persepctive! I hope they can give you something to settle you asap Flowers

aNewYorkerInLondon · 01/09/2021 12:10

Thank you @maymum94! This is my first pregnancy and I am 41, so, assuming nothing goes wrong in next five weeks, I believe I will get one. I think the peace of mind would be worth it for me.

aNewYorkerInLondon · 01/09/2021 12:12

Thank you @RosettaTheGardenFairy!!

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 01/09/2021 12:18

@aNewYorkerInLondon I’ve had nipt in both pregnancies as it is offered as standard when you go for a 12 week scan at my hospital (kings college London) I think for research purposes and it has been really reassuring to get such a detailed breakdown of the probabilities. I’m not sure I would pay to have one unless I had any specific concerns though as it is a lot of money.

Sorry to hear you are feeling so ill @maymum94 I hope the GP can give you something that will help.

@summertimes2021 I have a Cosatto travel system from my first baby which I’ll be using. It will be nice to get it out again. I never used it for ds2 as I have an 18 month gap between my 2 so used a fucking enormous double pram last time.

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 01/09/2021 12:20

I forgot to add I’ve just had a 3+ weeks on my last clearblue digital. I’m 5 weeks today so was planning to do it this morning with fmu but forgot. My impatience got the better of me so I just did it now so really glad to have the 3+ so hopefully things are going ok. Just need that reassurance as I’ve got no symptoms!

aNewYorkerInLondon · 01/09/2021 12:21

Oh thank you @MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat ! That's really helpful to know!

aNewYorkerInLondon · 01/09/2021 12:22

@MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat, I'm so glad to hear it! That's my plan for Friday morning

Celina94 · 01/09/2021 12:29

I did a cb digital and got 3+ yesterday not FMU. I had two so did one today not FMU again and gone to 2-3. Why do I do this to myself! Going to test with FMU tomorrow morning with my last one and then have my scan Friday so fingers crossed.

Does anyone know for these tests to change ? Xx

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 01/09/2021 12:41

Have you had a lot to drink? @Celina94 it might just be more diluted today?

Celina94 · 01/09/2021 12:44

@MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat i think so! I definitely had more to drink this morning than usual! I noticed that I haven't been drinking enough recently so made an active decision that I would from today so I think that must be it! Tomorrow FMU should hopefully do the trick xx

summertimes2021 · 01/09/2021 12:46

My daughter is 5 so will need to get a new travel system we're torn between a bugaboo fox and silver cords pioneer if anyone has any experience?

Positive21 · 01/09/2021 12:50

@LS2020

It's definitely a worry. I imagine a lot will be related to anxiety worn it? Every time I go to the loo and wipe I get scared incase I see any blood! I did an LH test last night (wanted to pee on something Grin) and it was such a strong line it was good to see!

I've actually booked an early scan for when I should be 8+3 but it still seems like so, so long away!
