I agree, it’s nerve wracking to be waiting like that! And I don’t want to complain too much to my partner who doesn’t understand why I’m so stressed already… At least I got my early scan booked for Sunday at 7+3. I’m also waiting for appointment confirmation, I did the early bird registration online Monday last week and I got an email saying I would receive my appointment date by post within 14 days but still nothing so far…

Aquarius1987 · 14/09/2021 23:10
@Aquarius1987 I spoke to them on the phone last Tuesday. Got my booking in appointment through on Friday and then scan date through today. Booking in appointment is 8 October
@EmilyMay89 O wow mine seems to be taking ages! Registered online last Tuesday and nothing yet. How many weeks are you? X

EmilyMay89 · 14/09/2021 23:21

@Aquarius1987 I'm guessing it really varies across Trusts. I'm 6 weeks today. How about you?

Anyone else has a toddler that likes to wake up screaming at five in the morning and sleep on your lap? I don't know how I'll survive 9 hours at work today without a nap 😭

MyNameIsInUse · 15/09/2021 05:10

@Mummatoislaxx hope everything is okayFlowers

Celina94 · 15/09/2021 06:59

Hi girls 7 weeks today. This morning I dropped a small plate and it hit my pelvic bone (I was laying down). It hit it pretty hard as I felt the impact in my bone. I'm a little worried - but baby should be fine right? It's my first pregnancy and I just worry about every little thing! :(

AllyCat31 · 15/09/2021 07:16

Morning everyone, I hope everyone is doing okay?
Wondering if anyone has any tips for really bad cystic acne? I’m 6w1d and my skin is so sore. It wasn’t bad at all before I came off the pill and then I got a lot of smaller spots and blackheads but since 4w I’ve had a new sore under the skin spot almost everyday and it’s really starting to get to me.
Also I’ve booked an early scan for around 8/9ish weeks so we can get a bit of reassurance early and feel a bit better about telling work etc

@AllyCat31 I can sympathise as I've had bad cystic acne for two years since I came off the pill! I actually thought it was a PCOS symptom for me as I have other symptoms too. Mine has gradually got better, still up and down, but really has dented my confidence a LOT. I now have two showers a day, and moisturise with an oil-free moisturiser whenever I wash my face. Don't scrub your face too hard, try and be gentle with it. And finally I have cut down on oily foods (pizza, crisps, naan etc) and tried to reduce my sugar intake a bit. I try to have as many makeup free days as poss to give skin a breather too, make sure you completely remove any makeup you wear when you take it off as I think that aggravated mine for a long time. That's just what has helped me. Good luck with yours!

Good morning! I hope everyone is doing OK. @Mummatoislaxx, fingers crossed for you! Flowers

@AllyCat31, I used to be prone to cystic acne and what has helped me is a gentle cleanser with lactic acid, followed by a gentle exfoliating toner, followed by a very hydrating and lipid providing series of serums and a moisturizer. I should do it morning and night, but sometimes I don't get to it in the morning, and this has basically eliminated my skin problems. I still get the occasional bump, but they're few and very far between. The brand I use is Biologique Recherche, but that can be a little pricy and I'm sure that there are similar products in every price point. I think the keys have been the gently exfoliation with the cleanser and toner every day instead of something more severe but less frequent. Hope that helps!

I've had nausea every day for a week, then yesterday it disappeared, which made me really nervous. Last night I had terrible heartburn (that night's dinner is off the menu going forward!) and today the nausea is creeping back, so I guess I'm probably OK? What a anxiety-filled time this is -- also, I never thought I'd be happy to feel nauseous.

maymum94 · 15/09/2021 08:44

@Celina94 baby should be fine there are packed in there really good with lots of cushion. Unless you had any other thing to say you've hurt yourself. Baby should be fine. In my first pregnancy I was involved in a car accident and baby was perfect fine didn't even Ben bother her and I was 6 months so had a rather bump at that stage. But our bodies are designed to hold and carry and protect these beautiful little things inside us.. hope your okay xx

Morning all! Went out for a big curry last night, felt too full for breakfast, then BAM, nausea. Still not sure if it's baby related or curry related.
I've since had a bit of yoghurt and felt much better.
Any favourite soothing foods for nausea?

Ritz crackers and mint imperials have been working for me! Ive also stocked up on sugar free sprite and werthers as heard they are good for nausea. I haven't tried those yet as I have completely lost my sweet tooth and instead just want gravy on every meal!

It’s so reassuring knowing you are all going through the same thing! I’m waiting for the midwife to call back for my booking appointment, I’m 6 weeks today but called them last week to register. Not heard a thing from them yet, going to give them a couple more days then chase them up.

This is my second pregnancy, last time we moved to a new area when I was about 10 weeks so the GP did a quick referral and I had my booking in appointment and scan really quickly, so this wait is killing me! I wouldn’t mind if I had a date for the appointments but being left hanging is really hard!

We want to wait until we’ve seen the midwife before we tell anyone, but I’m not sure I can keep this secret much longer!

Mummatoislaxx · 15/09/2021 11:18

Thanks everyone. Not good news for me I am afraid.

Really so sorry to hear this @Mummatoislaxx Thanks xx

ninadust · 15/09/2021 14:07

My friends have been asking to meet up this week but I've been feeling too nauseous to go out. I don't know what to tell them? If this is going to last for weeks I don't know what story to come up with..any advice?

aNewYorkerInLondon · 15/09/2021 14:17

@ninadust, the best lies have some truth to them, so maybe just keep it simple? say you're feeling unwell and look forward to seeing them when you feel better. this isn't a lie at all! Smile

florencebunny · 15/09/2021 14:34

hello! I'm 4 weeks + 2 days- due date is looking like 23 May, this is only my second pregnancy after a ruptured cyst + ectopic double surgery in April. Still doesn't feel real and feeling super anxious after last time!! hope you don't mind me joining, I thought talking to you guys might make me feel a little less alone Smile

itssquidstella · 15/09/2021 14:40

Hi @florencebunny and congratulations on your bfp!

florencebunny · 15/09/2021 14:53

thank you @itssquidstella!! keeping my fingers crossed! did you book your 6 week scan directly through EPU or your GP? I was told I would need one if I got pregnant again but have no clue what to do first!

maymum94 · 15/09/2021 15:32

@Celina94 anytime hope your feeling better. Xx
