Had my booking in appointment today.

The midwives are so lovely.

But very sad to say I may have to leave you Ladies!

Midwive says I may be nearly 11 weeks rather than just past 6 with a due date early April instead of May.

So I am hopefully getting a dating scan soon to resolve this mystery.

LemonSwan · 14/09/2021 13:05

so sorry to hear about your morning sickness bless you sounds brutal. I hope you feel better soon. I do the same like googling why am I not sick yet- then I think stop it will come!

@Hope91
Thank you Flowers
Mine has stopped now again.
You really dont want it to come! So dont worry yourself, enjoy it if everything is going smoothly. Grin

Positive21 · 14/09/2021 15:15

@Sarah239 I completely understand that. I think it's hard for them initially because they can't feel any symptoms and there's nothing visible yet either so it's almost like, it seems like nothing has changed.

My OH actually encouraged me to buy some babygrows today 🥺 I know you're "supposed" to wait etc but I'm not really the person to think buying some baby clothes is bad luck, that would be entirely unfair if it were really true!

Luckily I had both of my jabs by May so don't have to think about that, although I was told by the midwife I am eligible for the flu jab this year. It will take me a while to decide on that as I've never had it before.

@LemonSwan wow! That must be nice though! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy 💕

5 weeks today and the tiredness is really starting to kick in. Cant get rid of the constant worry about something going wrong. My job involves reading patient medical notes and my main specialty is Obstetrics & gynaecology - had a run of missed miscarriages to read through yesterday and for the first time in years just felt like crying. Spoke with my husband and agreed to book in an early scan for next week just as a way of relieving my anxiety.

As for the vaccine, I had Covid in January and had an antibody test come back positive the month before we started trying so I'm reassured by that and the research about immunity acquired through infection vs vaccine mediated. If I hadn't had covid already then I would probably wait until the second trimester, but at the end of the day, all you can do is read the most up to date information available and make your own informed decision - patient choice is first and foremost.

EmilyMay89 · 14/09/2021 15:47

@Agnitio that must have been really tough reading. Glad you're going for a reassurance scan next week

Elsie2021 · 14/09/2021 16:24

Hi everyone

Please can I join?

I am only 4 weeks and a day today so quite behind you all, due 23 May.

I am a bit tentative to get excited after a previous missed miscarriage in March. It was discovered at our 12 week scan that the baby had stopped growing at 11 weeks. It’s been a difficult few months and we also had a chemical last month but our lines are strong this month and I am feeling positive.

Love to you all and very excited for this journey 💕

itssquidstella · 14/09/2021 16:40

@Elsie2021 hello, I'm new too! I think I'm about 4+2 or 4+3.

I’ve had three miscarriages and no successful pregnancies so feeling very anxious about this one. I’ve got a scan booked with the EPU on the 27th and I need to let the recurrent miscarriage clinic know, as they might want to monitor me. Really hoping for better luck this time - for you too!

Elsie2021 · 14/09/2021 17:45

Congratulations @itssquidstella! Everything crossed for us!

Do you mind me asking how far along you were with your previous miscarriages?
Have they given you any idea what might have caused them? Xx

itssquidstella · 14/09/2021 17:48

@Elsie2021 the first was a natural miscarriage at six weeks; by the time I was scanned there was nothing to see so I never found out why. The second was an anembryonic pregnancy which was diagnosed about ten weeks after my last period, but the sac had stopped developing at around five weeks. And with the final one I had seen a heartbeat, but the baby died at 8w4d. The EPU did genetic testing on that one and the embryo had triploidy (3 of each chromosome rather than 2) so would never have made it.

So no underlying cause identified, DH and I clearly just have ropy sperm and eggs!

Welcome ladies and congratulations lovely to see more joining us

Hi everyone :)

I've known for 3 and a half days and this waiting and uncertainty is already unbearable! How on earth does anyone get through potentially 8 weeks (to 12 weeks) and then potentially 8 months?!

stephlouwaz · 14/09/2021 18:59

hey everyone!
I just want to let everyone know that a bleed isn't always a bad thing - I went to the hospital this afternoon with a bleed and was convinced of the worst, had a scan and everything was fine! I just had a bleed site, which is totally normal.
Plus I got to see little baba and their tiny heartbeat which was amazing!

Positive21 · 14/09/2021 19:54

Welcome @Elsie2021 Hope everything runs smoothly for you this time 💕

@itssquidstella welcome to you too, also sorry to hear about what's happened but fingers crossed for a happy sticky baby this time xx

I have an issue with buying clothes already 😅🤦🏼‍♀️

Also think OH and I are going to wait for our 8+3 early scan before we tell anyone as my nephew isn't coming down. But my OH said we will just go and see him instead 🥰 It's really hard waiting but it will feel lovely having a photo to show people when we tell them.

Mummatoislaxx · 14/09/2021 19:55

Joining the club 😃😃❤️❤️

Elsie2021 · 14/09/2021 20:05

@itssquidstella so sorry, it sounds like you’ve had an awful time xx

@stephlouwaz sorry you had a scare but how lovely that you got to see your little one! Glad everything was okay x

Skl2021 · 14/09/2021 20:23

@stephlouwaz sounds exactly like me I also had an early scan at epu today due to bleeding! Didn't find a cause though but I did see baby and the heartbeat was amazing 💞 I was also prepared for the worst! X

Aquarius1987 · 14/09/2021 20:27

@EmilyMay89

I got my 12 week scan appointment through which is very exciting! Although seems like forever away. Got an early scan 29th September and then my 12 week 27th October!!
@EmilyMay89 how long after you registered with your hospital did your appointment come through? Have you had your booking in appointment yet? X
Mummatoislaxx · 14/09/2021 20:58

itssquidstella · 14/09/2021 20:59
