@ninadust nothing so far 🤦🏼‍♀️😂 I'm just impatient, I'm only 5+2 so not like it's a rush, just excited. Glad you've got yours! Must be exciting ☺️

So feels like PMS symptoms are back. I feel a bit bloated and lots of lower back pain again.

Still drinking and peeing for Britain 😂 have drunk 1.5 litres and I'm working till midnight!

@MillyMcg That's interesting. I'm taking single vitamins; folic acid, vitamin D and vitamin C. I'll mention it to the midwife and see what she says!

itsmschanandlerbong · 09/09/2021 17:43

Welcome @MillyMcg! I had been wondering the same, my pee is also yellow, I guessed it was something to do with all of the vitamins!

@summertimes2021 that's good you're having your scan a bit earlier, will hopefully provide some reassurance. I was thinking of doing the same, but I get a scan from my clinic (IVF) at around the 8 week mark so I'll wait and see when that is first I think.

RosettaTheGardenFairy · 09/09/2021 19:19

Does anyone have any tips for nausea? I had it in previous pregnancies but this is unreal. I keep feeling faint so I eat something then throw it up then feel faint again so I eat something, throw it up and feel faint. I feel awful when I lie down, sit down or stand up. Fresh air doesn't help and I'm just out of ideas, emotional and totally miserable.

Sorry for the rambley post, but if any of you have a secret weapon I'll name this baby after you.

SerendipitySunshine · 09/09/2021 22:21

For me, toast and ready salted crisps are the only things that help with nausea.

aNewYorkerInLondon · 09/09/2021 22:59

@RosettaTheGardenFairy, I'm sorry you're feeling so poorly. I've been prone to nausea my whole life, so even though this is my first pregnancy, I do have some tips.

These help me:

  1. Never let your stomach be fully empty or too full.
  2. Frequent tiny sips of water all day, not big gulps. Sometimes lemon water goes down easier.
  3. Toast (or saltines) with nut butter.
  4. Unsweetened applesauce.
  5. Bone broth with rice.
  6. Crystallized ginger root (not too much because it's sugary).
  7. Nibble on a few almonds -- this is a new tip I've recently learned, but it's helping me.

I still feel nauseated, but so far it's been manageable. I fully understand that it can get much worse and at a certain point nothing makes much of a difference, but I hope some of these may help you.

aNewYorkerInLondon · 09/09/2021 23:09

Oh, @RosettaTheGardenFairy , "childs pose" and deep breaths also really help

forestlovr · 10/09/2021 08:16

A little tmi - I'm 6 weeks currently, is it normal to have sticky/clumpy cervical mucus at this time or is there's something wrong??

Aquarius1987 · 10/09/2021 11:16

Morning all hope your all doing well. So I registered with my local hospital on Tuesday, how long will it take to get my first appointment date? Sorry being very impatient, I know it's only been a few days since I registered. Currently 5+5 today and it's going v slow!!

Aquarius1987 · 10/09/2021 11:16

@forestlovr I have had a lot of mucus as well, I think this is normal after reading a few posts x
MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 10/09/2021 12:46

I’ve got my booking in with the midwife this Sunday when I’ll be 6+4 but I think this is quite early, I think they normally aim for 8-10 weeks

I’ve booked an early scan for the following Saturday so I’ve got that to look forward to.

It’s just been relentless nausea for me the last few days I’m finding it really hard as I’m doing the school run for the first time with ds1 who has just started reception and then trying to keep ds2 entertained at home when I just want to curl up in a ball and sleep.

Does anyone else keep having to get up in the night to go to the toilet? I’m finding it so annoying as our bathroom is downstairs so I have to turn the light on so I don’t trip over the cat (dark grey and chooses to sleep on a dark grey carpet of course Grin) and by then I’m fully awake.

Positive21 · 10/09/2021 13:38

@MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat deffo peeing almost on the hour every hour, along with a lot of thirst! Easily doing 3-4 litres a day at the moment 🤦🏼‍♀️ Bed time isn't so bad but I have been waking about 5/6am and been busting!

Anyone else have symptoms come and go? First week I found out I had PMS symptoms, stomach ache and back ache. Then it went. Today I've had even worse back ache pains. I actually had to stop what I was doing for a minute? No nausea as of yet. And still waiting to be contacted by the midwife since Tuesday 🙄

Hope91 · 10/09/2021 13:39

Hey all hope everyone is as well as can be :)

@Positive21 I am feeling super thirsty all the time too. Trying to drink as much as possible :) that is so sweet of your oh :) and also your dad being your bestie I’m so excited to tell family too :)

@maymum94 so exciting that you have your scan in 4 days. I really hope your sickness gets better soon bless you

@SerendipitySunshine I have read that toast can help to settle stomach so maybe that’s why :)

@EmilyMay89 such a good idea about saying you are going sober for the month I am going to do that for October to take me to 12 week mark

@mamatofourx congratulations:)

@talkingtoclarry congratulations amazing to see your 3+ on the digital I bet?!

@summertimes2021 bless you I hope the scan goes well :)

@babyboybluex aww thank you that’s so sweet of you. I try to keep up but when at work I get behind so have to reply all at once :)

@MillyMcg congratulations- my sore boobs have been coming and going too. I’m hoping it’s quite normal :)

@RosettaTheGardenFairy bless you I hope your sickness settles soon

@forestlovr I am abit behind you at 4+6 so haven’t noticed any sticky Mucas but have noticed it keeping a lot more wet down there tmi. I googled and it said hormonal changes can impact mucas and discharge

@Aquarius1987 I am unsure how long the appointment takes I’m one day in front of you and feeling the same very impatient. I feel like ttc and pregnancy is the biggest patience test it really is just wait after wait lol

@MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat so sorry to hear about your nausea I hope that Sunday’s appointment goes well. I am waking up every night to use the toilet which I never normally do lol! Problem is I can then never get back to sleep x

Hope91 · 10/09/2021 13:46

Little update from me 4+6 today feeling very impatient. I have provisionally booked a scan for 6 weeks (not sure if I will move it back) but I have felt so anxious about ectopic that I did it in haste. Where I’ve booked they rescan for free if they can’t see the heartbeat yet which is good.

I have finally heard back from the gp and been put on blood thinners due to a blood clotting condition (have to inject them which is not the best) and waiting to hear about midwife referral and consultant referral.

Also on higher dose folic acid due to bmi

Have also requested a hcg blood test and progesterone blood test as I have pcos to see if I need progesterone supplements and potentially a scan to rule out ectopic as much higher risk due to my condition. (Feel like ive probably been down the google rabbit whole way too much in the last 12 months- maybe sometimes you can know too much?)

I feel a little out in limbo at the moment because I am waiting for specialists to call back I have really no idea what I am doing lol. Time frames are probably so normal but every minute feels like an eternity.

Symptoms: bloated, gassy, sore boobs come and go, thirsty, tired, insomnia

…. However will take them all twice over for a sticky little bean :)

Love to all x

Hope91 · 10/09/2021 13:49

@Positive21 defo finding my symptoms come and go :) I am waiting for the midwife since Monday lol. I’m sure the timescales are so normal and I am never normally an impatient person but I am so impatient haha! Must be amazing finding out a little later in the process and not having to worry so much super early :) how are you? X

Agnitio · 10/09/2021 14:07

@Hope91 I love that you reply to everyone, I'm new to the forums so how on earth do you do that other than remember everyone's messages? Grin

So I self referred on Wednesday to the local midwife team. Wonder how long it will take to hear back. Never even thought of getting an early scan until reading this thread... Now I find myself looking for local private scan services! Not really got much going on symptom wise at 4 +3, just can't stop weeing!

ninadust · 10/09/2021 14:15

Nausea is so bad today, spent the past 20 hours in bed :( was supposed to be trying on my wedding dress tomorrow - think I'll need to cancel!

Hope you ladies are all getting on well and all have lovely weekends x

Positive21 · 10/09/2021 14:41

@Hope91 it does feel like it's dragging doesn't it! I'm feeling really good thank you, super happy, and impatient!

I just had my first contact with the midwife services. My first midwife appointment is 8th October via phone (will be 9+3) and they are sending a letter for my bloods and first scan in the post.

Had a little cry because it's starting to feel real. I think I will be telling family next week, I'm too excited to keep it just to me and the OH! I've told a friend and she's incredibly supportive but doesn't want children so I don't want to keep pestering her 😅

@Agnitio sounds like a lot of us needing the loo a lot already. I didn't think it would happen quite this soon 😂

@ninadust I hope you feel better soon x

Hope91 · 10/09/2021 15:37

@Agnitio thank you- honestly lame as it sounds paper and pen lol! I’ve been on another group for 12 months and everyone does it on there most of them have now had their babies or due now though :) I hadn’t ever thought of one before either and now it’s all I can think about haha!

@ninadust so sorry to hear about the nausea I do hope you are feeling better soon rest up lovely. Fingers crossed for your dress fitting :)

@Positive21 it does indeed! Aw that’s the same as me happy optimistic and just wanting time to go fast haha! That’s so exciting bless you! The emotions can be a little overwhelming can’t they! Will you be telling them at 6 weeks? It’s our 6 weeks next Saturday and if they find a heartbeat I would be tempted to tell immediate family (after always saying 12 weeks) as I just can’t keep it in. Also next Saturday we have both families over for dh birthday! I said to him if he had been born 6 weeks later it would be perfect haha! But will see how I feel during the week :) Dh thinks I’m losing the plot changing my mind constantly :)

You always have us never feel like you are pestering I bet we are all in the same position 1000 questions and our brains totally consumed by babies haha! Xx

ninadust · 10/09/2021 15:42

@Positive21 @Hope91 thank you ladies x

Hope91 · 10/09/2021 16:34

@ninadust no problem my friend said ginger biscuits really helped the nausea xx

RugbyGirl1 · 10/09/2021 16:35

Hey ladies, hope you don't mind me joining! I'm 6 weeks today, FTM, due 4th May (cue unhelpful Star Wars related name suggestions from DH 🙄😂)

Got my first ever BFP last week after what seemed like a normal period and had some brown spotting this week. Been to the doctors for both and neither seemed concerned or willing to refer to EPU as I've had no accompanying pain, just advised to test again in 2 weeks time 🤷 I've booked an early scan for 7+5 for some reassurance. Tests are still strong though so just waiting to see what happens...

Hope91 · 10/09/2021 16:37

@RugbyGirl1 congratulations :) quite a lot of people in here have mentioned the brown spotting sorry that it’s caused you concern though. Hoping for a sticky little bean for you :) not long until the scan at 7+5 which will hopefully put your mind at rest :) also really positive that the tests are strong :) x

Positive21 · 10/09/2021 16:38

@Hope91 you can actually swipe down on the reply box if you're using the app! It keeps everything you've typed so you can scroll through the thread to find more bits to reply to. You are incredibly lovely ☺️

I was trying to wait for the 8 week scan so we would have a photo to show, but my nephew is back from uni next week and I feel like he misses a lot being there. He's more like a brother so I'd feel bad telling everyone else in person and him over the phone or something.

Thank you! I have a million and one questions and thoughts. Just trying to learn to chill out. Will feel better when I get bloods done and have the early scan. Three weeks to go 😅

RugbyGirl1 · 10/09/2021 16:43

Thanks @Hope91 - I was more worried about the period like bleed (red and everything) immediately before my BFP but they said it was either unusually heavy implantation or just a random bleed, who knows! I've also not really had any symptoms yet apart from the odd wave of nausea and being a bit gassy. Hate this waiting game!

LS2020 · 10/09/2021 19:07

Hi everyone!
This thread is moving so quick but so lovely to see all the newcomers and the happy news 🥰
No major update from me. 5+4 and did a digital and got 3+ today so happy with and will stop testing now (haven’t done one in a week so hopefully I will stick to it!)
My scan is a week today - does anyone else feel like it’s flying but also SO slow?! Hoping I don’t get behind when I finally get discharged to a midwife because I get an early scan.

Mild nausea which I’m handling, I’m just so incredibly tired but have started a new role and it’s fairly busy.
