So, I just got back from my first barre class post-BFP (as I've been out of town), and it was interesting to see how differently my body responds to certain things. That relaxation hormone (for our ligaments and such) is no joke! As I have pretty fine-tuned body awareness, I know what my stretching limits have been in the few weeks before I got pregnant and I have to say that I easily could have gone way, way past those today, which could cause significant injury! I just wanted to mention it as we are all finding our new limits on things, to remind us that for stretching and such, only go to what feels like 70% to avoid injury. Smile

ChelseaaBun · 05/09/2021 16:43

Hi all, I got my BFP a few days ago - due 14 May. This will be our second, we have a just turned 1 year old. Lovely to meet you all and 🤞 for our journeys!

mrsmop21 · 05/09/2021 16:54

I think I’m gonna end of having a chemical - my tests are so so faint and not getting darker

stephlouwaz · 05/09/2021 17:53

@aNewYorkerInLondon I just read your post about chicken soup and now all I want is a good home made chicken and vegetable soup ha!

aNewYorkerInLondon · 05/09/2021 18:12

Hi @stephlouwaz! After posting that I really wanted some too! I picked some up at the farmers' market this afternoon and heating it up now :-)

AllyCat31 · 05/09/2021 19:31

Full day of packing to move house today and I have never been so tired. Had to go for a two hour nap, got worked up for dinner and an hour later I could go back to bed. Nausea is now kicking in mid morning and lasting all day unless I constantly snack.

I also had a random sense of dread earlier and could have cried. There’s nothing wrong, no cramping or bleeding but I’m so afraid. Can the next 8 weeks just hurry up so I can relax a bit 😩

How is everyone else doing?

RosettaTheGardenFairy · 05/09/2021 19:42

I really hope that's not the case @mrsmop21, fingers crossed tomorrow's lines are good and strong

Positive21 · 05/09/2021 23:15

Hope you're ok @mrsmop21 xx

@AllyCat31 doesn't it drag 😅 although I'm deffo better when I'm not at work.

I have two FRER and two CB digital weeks tests. I wanted to get my dye stealer but my OH commented on how many tests I've already taken so I'm trying to ignore the want to test! Haven't had any symptoms since my back stopped hurting the other day 🤷🏼‍♀️ I did however pee on an ovulation test just to satisfy my need and the test line is incredibly strong. I actually tested with an OPK before I took a pregnancy test and had a darkish line although not as dark as control which is what made me take a test!

I know OPK doesn't actually confirm pregnancy but I feel good seeing that strong line 😅

Etonmess20 · 06/09/2021 05:12

Does anyone have any recommendations for a pregnancy tracking app?

MyNameIsInUse · 06/09/2021 06:12

@Positive21 I'm guilty of using OPKs too Grin I run out of pregnancy tests and don't want to get more because DH will say I'm being paranoid 😂

Still not nauseous but I should probably enjoy it before it hits me hard!

TashieWoo · 06/09/2021 07:20

@Etonmess20 I’m using the Pregnancy+ one, it’s sponsored by Phillips. I like the daily articles, and weekly updates about the baby’s growth etc.

Etonmess20 · 06/09/2021 07:23

@TashieWoo thank you, that's really helpful! This is #1 for us so it's all a bit of a minefield!

aNewYorkerInLondon · 06/09/2021 07:57

@Positive21 and @MyNameIsInUse, I've been continuing to buy the Boots brand cheapies and I use one every morning. No matter whether it is just in my head or is really providing me with useful info, it provides me with a sense of calmness for the day. Of all the things we spend money on, £1 per day for peace of mind at this anxious stage is more than worth it to me.

aNewYorkerInLondon · 06/09/2021 07:58

also, last time i was in Boots, it was buy 1 get the 2nd half price, so its really £0.75 each. Grin

Positive21 · 06/09/2021 09:12

@MyNameIsInUse Glad I'm not the only one! They do make me feel a bit more calm and yes my OH says that too 🤦🏼‍♀️ are you going to take any more real tests?

@aNewYorkerInLondon That's really good! I didn't know they did super cheap ones. I'm going to do a digital on Wednesday because it -should- say 3+ 😅 I think you're right though. The anxiety is a tricky one but I keep reminding myself that the likelihood of something having happened with no blood or cramps is probably very very low. Like all things I think it reduces very slowly over time, it's been just over a week since I found out and I definitely feel more settled.

Has anyone else made contact with the midwife service yet? I did a self referral on the 30th but it just says a midwife will be in touch soon. Do they normally just send a letter?

aNewYorkerInLondon · 06/09/2021 09:19

@Positive21

Yup! These are the ones I bought, buy one get one half off. www.boots.com/boots-pregnancy-test-strips-5-tests-10271017

I think hubs values my peace of mind even more than I do, because it means I am less crazy all day, bahahaha!

aNewYorkerInLondon · 06/09/2021 09:31

Hi ladies - I think I will need to tell my GP surgery where I plan to give birth when I go for my appt on the 15th. I read somewhere that we can book tours of potential maternity facilities, and I would like to do this. Can anyone tell me how this works? Would look at both private and NHS options (the company I work for actually has some discounts available for some of the private maternity hospitals).

Positive21 · 06/09/2021 09:36

@aNewYorkerInLondon next time I pop past a boots I'll pick some up, thank you!

My OH I think is a bit shell shocked. First cycle of trying I think reality hit and he's a bit older (38 in feb) so I think it's the realisation of things changing. His brother recently had a baby (she fell pregnant 3 months into the relationship) and all he seems to say is negatives so I think that made my OH feel less confident.

But when I told him, it was quite sweet. I gave him a box with a baby grow and a positive test. He saw the baby grow and said "oh cute" and then went "wait, what the f*ck?" And then turned to me with a huge grin and said how excited he was 😂 bit of shock for both of us tbh as this was only my second cycle which I am incredibly grateful for, but I did think it would take a bit longer. Happy it didn't 🥰

EmilyMay89 · 06/09/2021 10:10

@Positive21 it was our first month trying and I think my boyfriend is still processing a week later 😂

I'm thinking about setting up a bank account separate to my savings and each month we both put money in it ready for big ticket items. We currently keep finances separate, have a joint account for mortgage and bills etc

MummaRainbowbaby2 · 06/09/2021 11:03

@mrsmop21 what tests are you using? I've been using test strips everyday after 2 faint first responses and they've only today gotten darker took them a week to be more than a squinter with colour

MummaRainbowbaby2 · 06/09/2021 11:05

@Etonmess20 I'm using the bounty one comes with loads of discounts and the boots packs too

Etonmess20 · 06/09/2021 11:43

@MummaRainbowbaby2 oh thank you, that's nice to know - I'll have a look at that one x

TashieWoo · 06/09/2021 11:58

Me too @Etonmess20, everything seems to be a minefield!

@MummaRainbowbaby2 I’ll have a look at the Bounty one as the discounts sound good, thanks

ninadust · 06/09/2021 14:06

I keep getting ads on my social media for these SneakPeek DNA tests. Has anybody used one of these before - were they accurate? I have never heard of being able to find out the gender at 7 weeks before! X

AllyCat31 · 06/09/2021 14:38

Not seen these @ninadust I thought it had to be 11 weeks for a blood test/harmony? (Which we 100% plan to get!)
