Hi All!! I just found out I’m pregnant on the 31st, the day after our wedding- what a present!!! I ovulated around 19th/20th august so think my due date will be around 12th/13th May!!! This will be our first so we are very excited but also apprehensive of what on Earth we do now 😂

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 04/09/2021 15:53

Really sorry to hear that @Dollface20 hope you are taking care of yourself and have some support Flowers

JuneauBound · 04/09/2021 16:01

Hi Everyone,

Can I please join? I am due first or second of May. Have had a bumpy ride of pregnancy so far with bleeds and this is my first so I am terrified. Hoping it'll stick and trying to be positive!

Not many symptoms except sore boobs, giant nipples and nausea on and off.

@Dollface20 I am so sorry for your loss.

RosettaTheGardenFairy · 04/09/2021 16:02

I'm so sorry @Dollface20 be kind to yourself Flowers

AllyCat31 · 04/09/2021 16:11

aNewYorkerInLondon · 04/09/2021 16:19

Welcome @MrsSE and @JuneauBound and congratulations! I've found the ladies on here to be incredibly kind and supportive. I would edit the old saying a bit and say that this message board embodies "Shared joy is doubled; Shared worry is halved."

maymum94 · 04/09/2021 16:32

@aNewYorkerInLondon I agree everyone here is so supportive it's great.

Welcome and congratulations @JuneauBound @MrsSE 🎉🎉

@Fortheloveofscience that website is magic. It gives honest statics but I love the reassurance option. Will definitely be using it every time I have a wobbly

That’s good to know @LS2020 I’ll just dip it the morning before we give it to them/tell them. Gonna feel so real once we tell a few people!

Emily199034 · 04/09/2021 20:11

@MrsSE Snap! I am 12th/13th too.

@Dollface20 I'm so sorry, take care of yourself. xx

Celina94 · 04/09/2021 20:26

Hey girls. I have the most horrible cold I think I've ever experienced and I'm assuming it's the pregnancy immune system suppression thing I've been reading about. The only problem is I have no idea how to treat it? Has anyone got any remedies or things I can take that are fine for first trimester?! I'm reading a lot about remedies that seem to be okay for second and third trimester but not first - confused! Xx

Alexand23 · 04/09/2021 20:33

Thanks to whichever poster mentioned that website, I found it really reassuring. I am 5 wks + 6 now since last period. Had cramps since finding out but no bleeding touch wood. No morning sickness.
How many other children do you guys have, if any? I have 2 with a big age gap (13 years!) between them. Also unfortunately 2 miscarriages between their births. My DH has had a sperm test done as we have been trying 14 months and his results were not very good. This pregnancy feels like last chance saloon for us as we aren't getting any younger (who is?!) so I feel worried all the time that it won't work out.

kjcar · 04/09/2021 23:55

@Celina94 I also have a horrible cold and have been using Vicks and drinking lemon and honey hot water and taking paracetamol. I think that's all we can really have at this stage! A pharmacist told me today that external remedies are usually fine, but no decongestants or other cold medication sadly.

ClaireOC88 · 05/09/2021 06:18

Hi everyone, I'm 6 weeks tomorrow, first baby- eeek!
I have PCOS, 34 and getting pregnant was a bit of a journey. But I had no idea how anxious I would feel once it did happen! I've had a fairly slow line progression and 6 weeks tomorrow but my digi test said 2-3 weeks this morning, I know that means 4-5 but should I be worried?

aNewYorkerInLondon · 05/09/2021 07:14

@Celina94 and @kjcar : my doc back in NYC (she was amazing) said that there is actually a lot of truth to the chicken soup thing, but real chicken soup made from bones, not the canned condensed stuff. She said that the broth has more electrolytes than Gatorade without any of the sugar, so that's plus the steam/warmth is good for dehydration and can help loosen the mucus in your sinuses, and it has lots of collagen etc. Plus the chicken and vegetables provide a lot of nutrition. I know it sounds trite, but I've actually found it works. My fav delivery soup in London is the chicken soup from Cocotte (on Deliveroo), if you have one in your area. Also, the brand Borough Broth Co. has great organic chicken bone broth.

@ClaireOC88 , welcome! I'm on my first too - it's combined joy and anxiety, isn't it! I guess that's good prep for parenthood. I know with PCOS cycles can be irregular, so maybe ovulation was later than you initially counted? In any case, I'd bet that since you are already diagnosed with PCOS that you could ask your GP to monitor your hormone levels. I think it is a blood draw every few days?? Not sure. It seems to be a bit more common in the US than in the UK, but it never hurts to ask. My GP here in London always seems surprised by my piles of questions and my politely pushy American habit of medical self-advocation, but I find it helps get things done.

Etonmess20 · 05/09/2021 07:45

Morning ladies, hope you don't mind me joining you all!
I've had a BFP this morning (also my birthday!!!) following a 5dt (fresh IVF cycle) on 25th August so the online calculator is saying I'm 4w2d with a due date of 13th May 2022.
Still in shock as I was convinced it hadn't worked!!!

Due May 22
Positive21 · 05/09/2021 07:56

Hello all new positives 🥰

@Alexand23 I turned 31 this july and this is my first, I want at least two and likely quite close (18 months-3 years if all goes well). Both my OH and I are middle children in 3 and middle child syndrome is so true (although he is a twin so not anyone's fault 😂), my sister also has three!

Positive21 · 05/09/2021 07:58

Also meant to say I'm definitely finding it easier on my days off to stop focusing on things, which is making it go faster.

I think my MIL is suspicious because I ordered a small baby related parcel yesterday (for when I tell my niece and nephews 🥰) and she asked what it was. I went blank and just kept saying "a parcel" 🤦🏼‍♀️ Although I had told her I thought I was already out this month as a I originally thought implantation was AF. But I'm sure she's suspicious. I can't wait to tell them but I just want to wait a little bit longer ❤️

MyNameIsInUse · 05/09/2021 08:33

Hello ladies, I'm due on the 14th of May. It will be my second baby after the first one was born during the first lockdown at the end of April 2020.

I'm completely terrified as last time I felt lonely and scared (had fever but it was sepsis and they thought I had covid so was isolated) and my husband was only allowed in once I started pushing. I'm hoping to have a better experience this time round Smile

ClaireOC88 · 05/09/2021 09:56

@aNewYorkerInLondon thank you. Yeah I read a lot of the American forums talking about monitoring bloods. When I rang my GP they just told me to refer myself to early pregnancy unit if I'm concerned. I way push them and see if they'll check it for me Smile

Celina94 · 05/09/2021 10:41

@aNewYorkerInLondon @kjcar thank you girls. And I'm making a chicken soup as I type.

Have been really bad today. Have a high temperature and coughing which led to vomiting 3 times this morning :-(

maymum94 · 05/09/2021 11:48

@MyNameIsInUse my first baby was lockdown April too. I think you make 3 of us with lockdown baby's at that time. Congratulations

Welcome any one new hope everyone is okay
