@glasspaw that’s really funny you should say that, had my first vaccine on Wednesday (at 13 weeks), yesterday was the first time I had been sick in over a week and I was sick twice, last one straight after my dinner, it was awful!! A friend of mine said that when she had her vaccine at a much later stage of pregnancy, they mentioned to her nausea and tiredness was a possibility but you wouldn’t be able to distinguish between pregnancy and vaccine symptoms! I think the vaccine just exacerbated my pregnancy symptoms.

Anyone had a winter baby before? DS was born in a heatwave so didnt need anything too warm in newborn size. Any tips?

DS is a boxing day baby. Don't know if I had anything special. Maybe a nice cosy inlay for the pram? We heated our house a bit more than we would have done without a newborn.
I wouldn't know what to do with such a tiny baby in a heatwave...

I had my second jab at 8 weeks and was sick the day after. But I am sick so much anyway, I can't really say whether this was off the vaccine or not.

@Winterfellismyhome I've got 2 😅
Fleece sleep suits were good
Long sleeve vests
Fluffy big socks
I did heat the house more often
Fluffy warm blanket for out and about in the pram or a cosy toes
I got a fleece swaddle sort of thing off eBay and it was invaluable took it everywhere
I'll attach a pic

Yes my son is a Feb baby. In fact this baby is due on his birthday!

They say one layer more than you're wearing. It was easier keeping them warm rather than trying to cool down an over heating baby!

torchh · 20/08/2021 17:38

Ah yes, I had a sheepskin pram liner. Warm in winter and stops sweaty legs etc in summer

StephanieJ · 20/08/2021 20:01

Does anyone have any idea when the ridiculous emotions end? I actually cried like properly sobbed because I'd finished a bag of crisps that I thought I had more of and the day after I cried because I had run out of cheese, I didn't even need the cheese and had no plans to eat it but apparently it's something to breakdown about haha x

Winterfellismyhome · 20/08/2021 20:04

@Peachi82 @feb2022 @torchh thank you all! That little swaddle is adorable 🥰

Oh thanks for the ideas! My DS was also born in a heatwave 🤣 I do have a sling hoodie and coat though from later that same year. I was planning on buying a new star wrap and actually using my newborn pram cocoon this time…

feb2022 · 20/08/2021 20:26

@torchh my second baby was due on my 1st baby's birthday too... he didn't come until 2 days later though (Xmas day) 😅

ItsMeantToBe · 20/08/2021 20:42

@StephanieJ I cry when my DH asks me what I want for dinner...most nights. Bloody food aversions!

glasspaw · 20/08/2021 20:51

@catinthehat12 this pregnancy lark isn’t glamorous is it 😅 ah well, I’m glad I had the vaccine regardless. Feel a bit safer now!

torchh · 21/08/2021 06:50

My skin is so bad! I have a christening to go to on Sunday, feel like a spotty whale.

On the plus side, the shirt I've bought for my son will make me smile all day!

I know this one well.

My husband felt so helpless, endlessly listing meals!

I ended up eating anything because I was enjoying NOTHING!!

Sylvvie · 21/08/2021 12:03

Hello all! Checking in with baby due 16th Feb!

I'm around 14-15 weeks now and still gagging (although not being sick). I can't eat much which is frustrating and when I do I get zero enjoyment out of anything I am eating. Nothing tastes good anymore and I lost about 15 pounds before stabilizing at this weight!

Drink however (except tea) are going down well! Lots of water and fruit juice so at the very least I am hydrated!
@Peachi82 will dm those the link as it's a private fb group. Looking forward to seeing you all on there soon 😃
Could I also join the Facebook group please? Smile

becarefuloutthere · 21/08/2021 15:56

@fleur89 of course! @Peachi82 will send you the link when she sees this. I'm not admin so I can't and I can't remember the username of the other lady that is, but hopefully she sees this soon.
@Sylvvie wow wee that's a fair amount to lose! Hope you're feeling ok. I'm 13+4 and finally at the stage where I can eat more so I'm indulging a bit more now. It's weird cos I've only put 3lbs yet my stomach is protruding loads!!
@torchh have you got him one saying he'll be a big brother next year? 😍

Winterfellismyhome · 21/08/2021 19:59

First bits have gone into the baby drawer Grin

So 16 weeks today and I've got my gender scan this afternoon! Can't sleep at all and been dreaming of a baby boy all night! Has anyone else found out yet the gender of their baby 💙🤍💗

torchh · 22/08/2021 06:51

Ive done an Early Glimpse but I have my sexing scan in 8 days. So exciting

feb220222 · 22/08/2021 07:48

Hi! I’m just over 14 weeks and wondered if anyone else is suffering with headaches? For the last week I’ve pretty much woken up every day with one, had a pretty easy ride symptom wise up to now, but not sure how normal a constant headache is 😥

CurlyWurlyTwos · 22/08/2021 08:00

Hi everyone 👋

I’m pleased to find a forum for Feb babies! I am 15 weeks and due 14th Feb 💓!

I’ve read the last thread page and happy that I’m not the only one looking ahead and contemplating buying bits so early 🙈!

What are second time mums sibling announcement ideas? I’m planning to tell my 5 year old after 20 week scan (I thought at 12 weeks would be tooo long a wait for her)!

O - I’m not on fb, are most things posted on there?

Jellybean8 · 22/08/2021 08:48

@feb220222 yes! Since 12 weeks on the dot I've virtually had a constant headache. A couple.of days to.the point of it making me feel sick but mostly just a complete annoyance. I spoke to my sister who has a six month old about it and she said she was exactly the same and it lasted months :( I'm just trying to figure out what makes them worse and what makes them better. I've found sugar seems to make them a lot worse so trying to reduce my sugar intake. The advice is to discuss with your midwife if paracetamol doesnt shift it, which it does for me so I'm not overly worried, just annoying as I really didn't want to take paracetamol particularly often. Does paracetamol help with yours? I also use 4head roll on and that seems to help a bit too xx
