@Jellybean023 I have my 28 week appointment on Monday so I'll speak to her about it. I had to go triage a few weeks ago as she hadn't been moving at all and my blood pressure was raised but they did it again after I knew everything was alright with baby and it was fine haha. I've always been told I have high blood pressure but while I've been pregnant it's always been fine

BabyFeb22 · 30/11/2021 20:08

@SouthwestSis I've tried to get appointment for my booster and on the website I was something daft like 4000th in the queue! Luckily where I live there are loads of drop in centres that do boosters so I'll just go to one of them haha

MStarG · 30/11/2021 22:25

I'd have been due my booster the same week the baby is due so glad of the news they've brought it forward as I was really unwell with the 2nd vaccine and no way I was having it too close to my due date! A little bit wary of how far forward they've brought it though. I don't know whether the sensible thing is to just go for it without hearing any stats on pregnant woman with such a short gap or to wait and get it around 5 months but possibly put myself at higher risk of covid in the meantime than need be...

glasspaw · 01/12/2021 07:49

Am I right in thinking (from this guidance on the NNS site) that this means pregnant people aren’t eligible to book the booster unless they would have been eligible anyway for another reason? It seems weird to even mention it if that is the case Hmm

SouthwestSis · 01/12/2021 08:04

I'm already 6 months past my 2nd dose which is why I've been able to book for this week

but I definitely still would have booked a booster if I was only 3 or 4 months, as I'm firmly in 3rd trimester now and want as much protection for me and my baby as possible

Skybooks · 02/12/2021 05:23

I've had my booster this week as I'm eligible through work, I'd definitely recommend getting as much protection for you and baby as possible.

BabyFeb22 · 02/12/2021 10:22

Does anyone know how booking a booster works if you've had to have PCR test? I work from the office and I've been in contact with someone who's tested positive so even though I don't have to isolate I'm having to wfh until my PCR comes back negitive. Will that effect me booking a booster? I've looked everywhere and it's going straight over my head!

SouthwestSis · 02/12/2021 11:28

@BabyFeb22 it shouldn't affect you booking your booster unless you test positive (in which case you will need to stay at home for 10 days), but I know the booking system is a bit overwhelmed atm so you might be better going to a walk in centre after (hopefully!) getting a negative PCR

BabyFeb22 · 03/12/2021 06:07

@SouthwestSis Thank you, all came back negative so I'll get my booster this weekend! Hope everyone is well

BabyFeb22 · 03/12/2021 06:49

Does anyone have a support band and do they work? My back is in bits and I called the midwife who was actually really unhelpful, she looked at my file and said 'well you are 4ft 8 what do you expect'. So I've been looking at the bands but not sure if it will actually help or if I'll just be wasting my money

SouthwestSis · 03/12/2021 08:02

Yeah I bought a support band and i do find it helpful. My midwife was a lot more helpful and referred me to see physio, I have an appointment next week.

You have to wear the band quite tight for it to support your pelvis so it can dig into the skin meaning you can only wear for 2-3hrs at a time, but useful if you're having to do lots of walking.

catinthehat12 · 03/12/2021 10:26

@BabyFeb22 Gosh you are tiny! I am 5ft2 and have struggled so I can’t imagine what it’s like for you.

I haven’t got one but would be interested to know if they’re good. I get bad round ligament pain while walking, but my back and pelvis tend to be ok.

I had a growth scan today as bump measured small at my 28 week midwife appointment. Baby is just under the 90th percentile though so I must be hiding him well.

becarefuloutthere · 03/12/2021 15:40

I have to wear a belt when walking as have pgp. It does help so I do recommend! I've been sent exercises to do so must start this weekend! I measured off the charts! -over 98% at my 28 week scan this week so getting sent for a growth scan in few weeks! My sister carried big as well but then had average sized babies so I'm not too worried.

CucumberCool · 04/12/2021 22:23

Boobs!

I don't think mine have particularly got any bigger...should they?

I'm 30wks on Monday and although seemed to swell a little and were sore in the first few weeks have done nothing since.

Certainly haven't have any leaking or anything.

This is my first baby...will I know when milk comes in?

BabyFeb22 · 05/12/2021 08:54

Thank you for the replies about the band I see the midwife tomorrow but had a call Friday that she is off so it will be a different one that has covered for her before (actually really happy as the one I've had to see before when she was covering was amazing and so nice I asked if I could swap to her haha).
@PrettyPlatapus I'm 28 weeks tomorrow and my boobs seemed to have pretty much stayed the same too apart from very dry nipples the joys! Although I don't wear a 'normal' bra I wear the almost like sports bra types that just have slight padding that you buy in like small, medium or large so it may just be that I haven't really noticed! My partner says they've got bigger but I can't really tell because of the bump!

BabyFeb22 · 05/12/2021 08:58

Oh and just to give you all a little smile on this cold Sunday morning... I finished a course of antibiotics for a UTI about 5 days ago and yesterday I was getting some pain in the kidney area and I'm not even exaggerating I went for a wee 15 times between 7am and 6pm so was a little worried the UTI was back/not cleared up. I went to the out of hours doctors, saw the most lovely doctor who tested pee, did bp, heart rate everything and nothing could be found, she even called the hospital as she couldn't find anything but wanted to check with them anyway.... basically was told because I'm so short my baby girl is just growing and while being able to kick me in the ribs is also managing to lay on my bladder too, so yeah 45 minutes in the doctors to be told I'm basically going to be peeing every 30 minutes for the next 3 months hahah xx

CucumberCool · 05/12/2021 19:51

@BabyFeb22

Oh yay! What fun your going to have constantly needing the loo! You'll be an expert in wee dashing when out and about!!
Good luck with midwife tomorrow. Fingers crossed for the nice one!!

Winterfellismyhome · 05/12/2021 20:17

How far along is everyone? Im 31 weeks tomorrow so getting close!

@Winterfellismyhome I'm 28 weeks tomorrow 😊
I've got a 4D scan booked for next weekend so I'm exited for that

Winnie87 · 06/12/2021 06:24

Hi all 😊 I've not been on this thread since the start. I'm just short of 32 weeks. I'm getting a lot of pressure now not sure if that good or not! We had a growth scan on Wednesday and he 4lb 3oz they monitoring me as my daughter was 9lb 12oz. Anyone else looking at big baby?

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 06/12/2021 08:23

Hi @Winnie87 I'm about the same gestation as you, and baby was measuring big at 28 weeks. Have another scan in a few days, but I have gestational diabetes so I think that can make the babies larger also. Luckily I think it also means I get an earlier induction at before 38 weeks

Winnie87 · 06/12/2021 08:34

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I have a scan 33 weeks then another at 37 weeks which they said if I'm still going to look big they'll induce me round 38 weeks too. Not sure if I'm happy or nervous! I know inductions can take a long time so hoping they'll let me come home in between checks. We only live 10 mins from hospital

becarefuloutthere · 06/12/2021 08:35

I'm 29 weeks tomorrow and also measuring big! Waiting on a date for a growth scan and the results of GTT. They said after 3 days and it was last Monday and I haven't heard anything so must be alright! Will call up this afternoon anyway for a double check. Can't believe some of you are so close now. @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 do you think you'll have baby in jan then?

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 06/12/2021 08:59

@Winnie87 my sister and a couple of friends have had inductions recently, and apparently the contractions come on a lot stronger and hurt a lot more, so they recommended an epidural in the earlier stages. A bit nervous also, but prefer to get baby out of there are any issues, esp with my placenta.

@becarefuloutthere hopefully you don't have GD 🤞 esp if they haven't called you.
The baby was 95% percentile at 28weeks, but because I'm on insulin I think they won't let me go past 38weeks. In which case yes I think about mid Jan. I'm kind of ready, struggling with the GD and starting to feel tired and large and uncomfortable. Are you feeling okay otherwise?

becarefuloutthere · 06/12/2021 13:58

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 yeah I'm thinking not due to lack of call. I'm interested to know if my iron has gone up or not as that was borderline low last time and been taking floradix since. Yep I was 98th percentile too, was shocked but I am pretty big so guess I shouldn't have been too shocked 😂 my sister carried big as well but went onto have average sized babies so I'm not too worried. Oh I see, yeah they likely won't will they. Eek can't believe some of you might have babies come next month!! 😱
I still have pgp so that's a pain but ok on the whole thanks, though tiredness is creeping bk in too! Never ending fun this pregnancy lark eh!
