I'll be 31 weeks in a few days. Would love a 4d scan but they're soooo expensive! I have an anterior placenta and we couldn't see anything on the 4d scan at 20 weeks, only on the regular scan, so worried I could be wasting a lot of money.
Feeling lots more movement now and a nice regular pattern.
The baby is transverse at the moment, ive been trying out some of the spinning babies daily activities today to try and encourage better position - I know there's still plenty of time. Have felt loads of movement since.

@becarefuloutthere 98th in abdomen circumference or est weight of baby? Did the babies grow slower in the last few weeks, for your sister? My blood sugars have been a bit challenging, so I'm hoping he hasn't got even fatter around the abdomen in my next growth scan 😩 but I'm not sure really how it works.

Low iron doesn't sound fun, must make you feel pretty knackered, on top of third trimester tiredness.

Has everyone bought everything yet? Anyone packing their hospital bags soon?

becarefuloutthere · 07/12/2021 15:40

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 abdomen circumference. I rang up yesterday for results of GTT and all good, don't have diabetes just a big baby or me. No iron results yet though. Ooh I'm not sure for my sister, will ask her and report back. I'm still waiting on a date for my growth scan, hope the letter comes through soon, I'm eager to get one in before Christmas!
Yeah I'm constantly pooped! Have ordered more liquid iron whilst I wait for the results.
I ordered a travel system today coming next week so last thing I need is bath stuff and to pack my hospital bag, ooh and to wash the clothes given and bought. How about you?

@laalaaleelee ooh not heard of those activities, what do they entail then?

SouthwestSis · 07/12/2021 17:50

What a relief, have finally been able to get my covid booster!
By bump was measuring 80th and now 90th centile but still no offer of a growth scan for me so just have to wait for next bump measurement....

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 09/12/2021 05:42

@becarefuloutthere similar to you, just got to get bath stuff, and actually a car seat. But getting a new car this week so want to see what will fit. Hoping for a lie flat one so we can travel easier. Do need to pack hospital bag too! Can't seem to get motivated, wondering if it's too early at 32 weeks

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 09/12/2021 06:13

I'm week 30 and starting to get a bit worried now. My midwife is constantly off sick so only been seen once. Had an appointment for the 17th with a locum and it's just been cancelled. I can't do the date they want to move it to so they're not rearranging. I have a high risk pregnancy so would have expected more than this :(

I feel absolutely huge and I'm not looking forward to the next few weeks. My DD is under 2 and I'm really struggling carrying her around as I'm constantly out of breath.

SouthwestSis · 09/12/2021 08:14

Could you ask to be seen on the antenatal ward instead @PissedOffNeighbour22? They might be able to help if you are higher risk.
33+3 here and am going to start buying maternity pads and a few more bits for the hospital bag this weekend. Need to get better at taking my maternity notes to work with me too!

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 09/12/2021 09:19

@SouthwestSis I assumed they would refer me there but no. They've closed the birthing centre due to Covid so not much in the way of services at my hospital. All they do is scans and GD checks. I'll be seeing my consultant there in a few weeks though so will have to wait for that (only blood pressure will be checked though). They've cancelled my scan for early January too so a long wait for a scan.
There's no paper notes either so I never know what's due as they don't update the app regularly.

There's a massive difference in how I was dealt with when my first baby was due. Starting to regret our house move into a different county! The hospital I'll be giving birth in is quite far from where I live so can't visit there for routine appointments.

becarefuloutthere · 09/12/2021 13:19

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 my sister is coming round this afternoon so this has reminded me to ask her about her two in the last trimester. Her first was 11 years ago so she'll prob struggle to remember him but her second was last year so hopefully that won't be too much of an ask 😅
I don't think 32 weeks is too early, may as well be prepared! I'll prob do mine around then as it'll be Christmas break for me.
@PissedOffNeighbour22 eek sorry to hear how difficult it's been for you, I hope things improve soon! 🤞🏾

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 10/12/2021 09:36

@becarefuloutthere I got remeasured at my 32 week appointment, and I was bang on just over 32 cm. so normal instead of over 100 percentile. Baby had moved from transverse to head down, and apparently that can affect bump size (I didn't realise). Got my 2nd growth scan early next week so will see what percentile he is again on that

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 10/12/2021 09:38

@PissedOffNeighbour22 that's horrible, sounds like they're being really disorganised and awful. Can you get a private scan? I have, for peace of mind, as my hospital only got better from 3rd trimester onwards once I was a higher risk

becarefuloutthere · 10/12/2021 10:35

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 ah how interesting! Didn't know that either!! Let's hope that's the case for me then as could really do without trying to birth a giant baby 😂 good you're getting all the scans in, I'm still waiting for my letter. Oh and my sister couldn't remember but her 2nd baby was 7lb13oz and not 7.5 like I first thought, that was her first baby! 🤦🏾‍♀️

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 10/12/2021 13:04

@becarefuloutthere oh that's good, sounds like a nice size for a baby! I think I'd be worried to try to give birth to anything over 9lbs for sure 😂 A friend was over 10lb (but measured normal in her scan) and my cousin over 11lb 😱 that was an EMCS.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 10/12/2021 15:51

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 yes they seem terrible. Last time I was in the nurses were complaining about how many women needed glucose tests. Lots of eye rolling and 'oh another one' comments. It was the glucose test clinic so not sure what else they were expecting Hmm.
I definitely have a scan in the middle of January so will probably just wait for that.

I had a horrendous experience with my first birth at a different hospital but this one isn't getting my hopes up so far. I just hope they improve within the next 9 weeks!

feb2022 · 10/12/2021 15:56

@PissedOffNeighbour22 I was in for my GD test yesterday, midwife gave me my 28 week check too... measured bump but didn't put it in my notes on the grow chart, and when I was reading my notes when I got home she'd put NAD on my urine test result... she didn't ask for a urine sample so how no abnormalities where detected I've no idea, I've got a funny kidney too so I do suffer with kidney/water infections quite frequently and I don't have my next appointment for 3 weeks
Nightmare!

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 10/12/2021 19:12

@feb2022 Everything seems such a shambles doesn't it. Hopefully things will get better for you as you get closer to your due date.

BabyFeb22 · 11/12/2021 06:41

@feb2022 Oh bless you sounds like a nightmare! As much as my midwife isn't the kindest she does always write everything down and is really helpful if I have to rearrange appointments due to work.

I had a 4d scan last week, not successful she wouldn't move her hands from over her face so going back next week but they did measure her a week behind my due date! Don't know if I should be letting my midwife know about this or if she's just a few days smaller than they originally said

Winterfellismyhome · 12/12/2021 17:05

32 weeks tomorrow and cant walk without being uncomfortable. Feeling a lot of pressure down below. Anyone had this before? Didnt have it with my first

feb2022 · 13/12/2021 12:24

@Winterfellismyhome yesss I've had it with all 3 of mine, if I walk too far it feels very uncomfortable

2under2howscary · 13/12/2021 12:26

@Winterfellismyhome yes me! Every time I walk after sitting etc it feels like I'm going to wee myself every time I walk haha

AtomicSquash · 13/12/2021 12:43

My problem is less the walking more the standing for extended periods! Feels like baby is going to pop out. I am putting it down to my pelvic floor being destroyed from DC1, although I have really been working on the pelvic floor exercises this time around Confused

SouthwestSis · 15/12/2021 07:28

How is everyone doing this week? Getting those pelvic floor exercises in?
It's definitely getting harder as baby gets heavier! Wish I had done more in 2nd trimester now!

catinthehat12 · 15/12/2021 09:21

@SouthwestSis I am 30 weeks today and incredibly tired all the time as my main symptom. Definitely finding it harder to do normal tasks now too with this huge tummy.
I am rubbish with keeping up with pelvic floor exercises, but you’ve reminded me to keep trying. How are you doing?

SouthwestSis · 15/12/2021 10:28

Yes do keep trying!
We will thank ourselves for it later.
I am really struggling with sleep and tiredness, got about 4 hours sleep last night so today will be a challenge.
There's more covid booster appointments out this morning if anyone has been struggling to book one
