Glad the scan went well Peachi!

I second Peachi's recommendation of asking for omeprazole 2under2. I suffered really badly with heartburn and reflux last pregnancy, carried my trusty bottle of peptac with me everywhere but it was still horrible. I was prescribed lansoprazole between babies and its been an absolute life changer. No issues with any heartburn this pregnancy so far touch wood

2under2howscary · 27/09/2021 14:10

Thanks Atomic and Peachi, I'm going to ring the GP this afternoon. I never had it this bad with my other DS!

Glad the scan went well. Its amazing seeing them dance around the screen isnt it xx

babyfeb2022 · 28/09/2021 07:05

Back working in the office after WFH since first lockdown and actually had someone ask if I was pregnant yesterday! So glad people can see it's a bump and I don't just look fat! To put it into context I lost about 3 stone in lockdown so thought when I went back people wouldn't even notice haha.

@2under2howscary deffo call GP and get omeprazole they have worked wonders for me, I was having acid that bad it was making me sick so they gave me them and anti sickness tablets to take as and when and I think I've had to take probably 2 in about 4 weeks because the acid is a lot better!

Winterfellismyhome · 28/09/2021 07:26

@glasspaw yes! I want the whole house sorted now Grin

That is gorgeous!! H&m have some lovely girl bits at the minute. I have a 11 month old DS so haven't bought much new for this little one! Xxx
2under2howscary · 28/09/2021 19:48

My app wont let me reply, only quote so sorry!

Yes another DS. They'll be 15 months apart xx

Peachi82 · 28/09/2021 21:10

Oh no... Before I got the omeprazol, I had a bottle of Gaviscon next to my bed.
I got a pack of omeprazol when I was on holiday as it was available over the counter. Can't understand why it is a prescription item in the UK. At least it was 2017, maybe it has changed.
I know there is a similar one available over the counter, but that didn't have the ok for being taken in pregnancy, so I would stay clear of it.
Maybe ask in the pharmacy as well?
Does your GP have econsult? Because you don't actually need an appointment, you just need a prescription.

glasspaw · 29/09/2021 00:27

@Winterfellismyhome that is unbelievably cute!

feb2022 · 29/09/2021 08:54

@2under2howscary my boys are 12 months and 2 days apart!
And they are honestly the BEST friends now!
I was terrified but it wasn't bad at all they play together all the time now and keep each other occupied, they are both in the same size clothes, same shoe size into the same things... it's lovely!
And there wasn't any sibling jealousy because my DS1 was too young to understand 😉

feb2022 · 29/09/2021 08:55

@Winterfellismyhome that is sooo lovely! Looks really warm and snuggly too!
I've been going crazy with all the pinks & purples 😂... I'm going to have to stop because I'm still convinced they are gonna tell me she's actually a boy at the 20 week scan 😂

Peachi82 · 29/09/2021 09:24

I haven't been buying anything yet. I need to go into the loft and look through the things we kept, should be well enough. But don't think I'll be doing this before 30 weeks?
I'd like to have a small thing just for the baby though. Not quite sure what.

arield · 29/09/2021 12:13

@Jellybean8

I've also been suffering with the world's worst cold! I read an article on BBC news about the awful cold going around which made me feel slightly less pathetic, but I'm into my fourth week of it now and it's definitely wearing me down!

I had actually eventually relaxed into pregnancy (after previous missed miscarriage and miscarriage in the last year) and then I made the mistake of looking up what the look for/can diagnose at the twenty week scan (12 days to go) and now I'm back to worrying and feeling detached from the baby again :(
Any advice would be really welcomed! Scans always bring me anxiety anyway so the idea of laying there through a lengthy scan is filling me with dread.

I have this cold! It's horrible!
arield · 29/09/2021 12:14

Just had 20 week scan and all looks good! 💙

So relieved. A massive milestone

Jellybean8 · 29/09/2021 14:37

@2under2howscary speak to your midwife and they can contact your GP to ask them to generate the prescription for omeprazole without you needing an appointment, that's how I got mine sorted.

Hope2022 · 29/09/2021 20:03

@arield @Jellybean8 me too 😩😱 2 weeks later and I’m still struggling, my little one has since had a sickness bug too.. I’ve not been sick But nauseous all the time and soooo tired and wiped out!! I feel like I have no immune system at the moment! I’m taking my vitamins and trying to eat as much fruit and veg but I’ve lost my appetite, which is very
Much unlike me 😩
Hope you’re both feeling better soon xxx

Macccc · 29/09/2021 22:35

I’ve got this horrible cold too, can’t seem to shift it!

For those feeling movements..are they quite central in your abdomen? I’ve been feeling something sometimes on the right side and sometimes on the left, usually just a bit lower than my belly button. I feel it and think it’s definitely baby but then after I keep on doubting myself. 2 weeks still until my scan Sad

0Scapes · 30/09/2021 09:26

@Macccc that sounds about right! For me it’s lower than belly button and mostly on the right. Can feel the kicks best when I’m laying down and it seems quite active when I’m driving too! I can’t yet feel when I’m up and about but there’s plenty of time for that :)

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 30/09/2021 09:43

@Jellybean8 same here on the scan anxiety before the 20 weeks, I felt the same. No real advice, my scan was fine, but I was v anxious underneath pretending all was okay for my partner and friends and family etc. Can't say I'm massively relaxed after it either! I'll get a private scan at 26-28 weeks I reckon.

@Macccc I'm 22 weeks, and with movements I felt them low down in my abdomen, and sometimes central, sometimes left and sometimes right. For me most of the time central left, from about 16 weeks. I now have kicks and they're all over now, low and high, and can be felt outside my stomach. I don't know if any of this is normal / if there is a normal etc, as this is my first time

2under2howscary · 30/09/2021 11:19

I've got the awful cold too! Lost my voice now :(

I'm 22 weeks with an anterior placenta so feel movements very low down tbh xxx

Macccc · 30/09/2021 14:21

Aw thanks for replying guys! I really do think it’s the baby but the worrier in me won’t let me believe it is🙄 I’m trying to have a more positive attitude but i am very anxious about everything. Hoping if all goes well at the 20 week scan I might be able to relax - for a while anyway😂

feb2022 · 30/09/2021 16:16

@Macccc my 20 week scan is a week on Monday... my anxiety is creeping in too

22Feb22 · 30/09/2021 16:21

19+2 today & finally think I can feel kicks. Hopefully I can stop worrying for a bit Hmm, they feel just lower than my belly button, quite central.
8 days till 20 weeks scan!

Gross subject but anyone else been suffering with constipation?
