@22Feb22 yes, lately I have! It’s so uncomfortable. Been trying to drink more water but I pee enough as it is!

SouthwestSis · 30/09/2021 20:18

Yes I have really suffered with constipation, bought some fybogel sachets and am eating lots of fruit and trying to get my step count up.
Also borrowed a few movicol sachets from a friend who had some left over after her last pregnancy.
Pears have got a good amount of fibre in too

I'm going to the baby and toddler show tomorrow, I worked it a few years ago so was able to get free tickets. Only 21 weeks so don't want to buy loads yet but seemed a good place for DH and I to see and feel also the travel systems and car seats all in one place.

Hopefully grab a few freebies and discounts too!

arield · 01/10/2021 08:20

This cold is absolutely horrible.

What is everyone wearing? I'm stuck wearing leggings all the time!

catinthehat12 · 01/10/2021 08:53

@arield I really only wear leggings too with a t shirt and occasionally a jumper, and maternity pyjama bottoms for inside the house. I tried to order some jeans online but found they really didn’t fit. It’s so hard ordering online but no where around me seems to have maternity sections in store!

I also have an anterior placement and I feel the movement quite low. I work from home a lot with a laptop and when I rest that just above my pelvis, I think it must restrict his space a little as I feel a lot of movement then, same if I hold fidgety babies on my lap. Should I be avoiding resting things on it? Sounds a silly question really. They’re not heavy, but wondering if I should be a bit more protective of the bump these days.

2under2howscary · 01/10/2021 09:40

I've been wearing jeans for work but they're so uncomfortable to wear, and I have to pop the top button and unzip when I sit down. Nipping to h&m today to get maternity clothes as doing that isn't appropriate in a college setting haha xx

2under2howscary · 01/10/2021 09:41

@feb2022 are they? That makes me a little relieved. I do worry how DS will cope with a sudden new sibling haha. But I do hope my two boys will just be the best of little friends x

feb2022 · 01/10/2021 10:00

I'm wearing leggings too and T-shirt's and cardigans/jumpers and a size up on pj bottoms at home 😂
Everything is getting a bit snug now and I absolutely HATE being in tight clothing 😂... even my socks feel tighter than usual

feb2022 · 01/10/2021 10:05

@2under2howscary I'm sure they will!
I mean mine fight too but then they just brush it off and they are playing again after a few mins 😂
I love the small age gap... that's why we didn't want to wait too long for number 3 so I'll have 2 years and 2 months difference this time
My friend has 6 years between hers and she would be getting one into school and then had to start all over again with the newborn stage and she hated it

miracle2022 · 01/10/2021 10:07

Hi all - hope you're doing ok. Totally relate to the clothing - H&M and New Look maternity jeans have nice fits of that helps. I'm finding a lot of maternity wear is online online eg Next and Zara rather than the stores near me but agree it's difficult to buy without trying on. 19 weeks today and not felt any movement yet - anyone else in the same boat? X

The best mat jeans I find are top shop Jamie maternity.

I'm living in them and leggings.

I want something nicer than leggings for out of the house because as good as those mat jeans are, I want something more comfortable!

2under2howscary · 01/10/2021 10:37

@arield Topshop dont do my size 16 plus size:( xx

HelloBambinos · 01/10/2021 10:53

Hi all may I Join? Me and dh have 2 boys aged 6 and 3. Hadn't had a cycle in 2.years after miscarriage followed by sepsis and emergency surgery for retained products in 2019.. Went for anatomy scan on 23/8 to see if there was any anatomical reasons for absent periods only to discover I was 13+1 day pregnant! A bit embarrassing especially considering I'm a midwife but with no periods anyway and the stress of work and shifts as well as medications and a lactose intolerance which can make me sick every so often I didn't put all the symptoms together. I'm due 27th February. My 20 week scan is 10th October and we are opting for a surprise gender wise as this baby obviously likes to surprise us so why not just carry on with that theme hey!?

Anyway, hope it's okay I join and nice to meet and share this journey with all of you 😊

feb2022 · 01/10/2021 11:06

@HelloBambinos hey! Your 1 day ahead of me I'm due on the 28th and my scan is on the 11th 🥰
Sounds like you've had one hell of a journey so far xx

LadyBecks22 · 01/10/2021 11:11

@arield I’m going to hit the charity shops this weekend for a big coat, I tried on my winter ones and I can only get the top button done up!
Totally agree on H&M jeans - I got the straight leg over-bump maternity ones and they’re so comfy, I might get them in black so I can wear them at work (otherwise I’m in baggy dresses or leggings with baggy top/jumpers).
@Skybooks ooo didn’t know the baby show was this weekend, such a good shout. Had our 20 week scan yesterday so feel a lot more comfortable actually buying stuff now, and really want to try out some travel systems (I find it so hard everything is online these days).

Macccc · 01/10/2021 11:47

I’m also suffering from constipation, I have been for pretty much the whole pregnancy. My midwife recommended lactulose, I’ve not tried it yet because as weird as it sounds I really struggle to drink things like that😕 Finding it difficult with clothes aswell. We’re away for the weekend with my whole family and packing has been so difficult because I don’t feel like I have any nice things to wear. I did order some maternity clothes but they’re just too big just now, I’m at the awkward in between stage. I’m still feeling exhausted all the time, waiting for that second trimester glow that doesn’t seem to be coming😂 I’ll be 20+5 when I get my scan and having to wait that extra 5 days is really bugging me😂

Peachi82 · 01/10/2021 11:48

There is a jumble sale this weekend not far from our home. I'm tempted to go, but we really still have everything in the loft. I couldn't think of a single thing we would need. And I would come home with something, I'm sure. I better stay clear Grin

Clothes: Leggins, some baggy Tshirts. I'm not working, so really not too bothered 😂

Age gap: there will be 4 years between my 2 and I'm really looking forward to this. I'm glad the baby will have some exclusive time when our son is in nursery and then later school. And I'm glad he had the time to be little, he's just moved out of our bedroom in his own room (solely his wish).
Nothing wrong with a small age gap, but it wasn't for us.

feb2022 · 01/10/2021 12:05

@Peachi82 I have friends with bigger age gaps and they love it
And friends with small age gaps who loved that too!
I definitely think it's what works best in your life isn't it 😊
And yessss stay away from the jumble sale 😂
Although I'm debating going to a massive carboot sale on Sunday, I'll end up coming home with all kinds and I'm trying to declutter as it is ready for Christmas 😅

2under2howscary · 01/10/2021 12:12

I think I'd have preferred a bigger age gap. But I fell pregnant on the coil so it was meant to be I suppose.

Its actually my DS's first birthday this weekend and I'm already 22 weeks pregnant hah! In my head it feels so crazy

2under2howscary · 01/10/2021 12:14

I'd love to be added too! But understand if you want to get to know me via this thread first xxx

Peachi82 · 01/10/2021 12:25

We hesitated with a smaller age gap due to double childcare cost (I was back in work after maternity leave with my son, my company closed their research department just when Covid started, and we decided I stay home to ride it out until everything is more stable. It is now, but now I'm pregnant, haha.). Also our son wasn't the easiest of all babies 😂
We have no help from family here and my family lives abroad.
I have a friend who was hospitalised twice now because of the burnout she had with two children with a close age gap (and this is with grandparents next door (where the children can go anytime), her mum coming 1 day every week, and a cleaner).

All this wasn't the deciding factor in the end, but definitely contributed to having a larger gap.
It is a very personal decision and I truly believe there is no right or wrong.

2under2howscary · 01/10/2021 12:33

@Peachi82 yes I went back to work after maternity in August, and I'm going to have to go off again in January! I'm very lucky in that my work place pay 75% of childcare fees for under 4s up to £800 a month.

Saying that, I dont think I'd have actively TTC'd for a good couple of years. It took us 15 months to conceive DS. So getting pregnant on the coil, was insane xx

Skybooks · 01/10/2021 13:48

@peachi82 my dad will be 6 when baby arrives so definitely feeling you on the bigger age gap. Did want slightly less but MMC and TTC had other ideas and to be honest I'm so happy with things at the moment I'm glad Ds can be so involved.

Sunshine8888 · 01/10/2021 14:18

I’m in my maternity jeans and leggings already, dug them out from last year! Also Seraphine had a 20% flash sale off coats so I’ve splashed out and treated myself to a winter coat that I can also wear baby in when he’s here and also a nice big zip up hoodie I can also wear him in 👍🏻 I didn’t wear my daughter much as she was very happy in her pram but think this time round I will need my hands free more for my toddler! I’ve been looking at the ergo baby 360 or baby bjorn mini - anyone recommend these or alternatives?

I’ve had the worst cold all week but also went for a PCR test this morning just to make sure!

I had my second jab this week so great timing if I’ve managed to catch covid before that’s had chance to kick in 🙄
