@Daisymacx I’m starting to get a bit of a complex
about the size of my bump too. I have had comments like ‘I thought you’d be bigger by now’, ‘where’s your bump?’ ‘How are you almost half way and not look pregnant?’. I’m trying not to worry but you can’t help but wonder if everything’s okay or not!! I do keep telling myself that I’ll probably just be more grateful in the long run to have a small bump 😂.

feb2022 · 24/09/2021 07:56

@Winterfellismyhome ohh noo! Haha I bet he had a very pink start in life 😂
I'm propper set on having a little girl now after 2 boys 😂... so I kinda hope she stays a girl haha

feb2022 · 24/09/2021 07:59

@0Scapes I'm so much smaller this time than I was with my boys, I'm 18 weeks on Monday and just looks like I've eaten a big dinner 😅
Although I feel just as uncomfortable

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 24/09/2021 09:19

I'm the opposite, I feel like an elephant. Was hoping it was me being overly sensitive to my new size, but have had several people at work coming to congratulate me because they can see I'm pregnant, and yesterday someone gave me their seat on the tube (and I don't even have a baby on board badge 🙈) I'm hoping this is normal too, my next appointment isn't for weeks

babyD20 · 24/09/2021 13:17

Any anterior placenta mummies just to ease you as I was so upset about not feeling baby I am 20 weeks and I can now feel her kick! I've even caught one on camera! Although I have to be laying down and concentrating it's nice to finally feel her!

Sunshine8888 · 24/09/2021 14:01

I find that eating / drinking something sugary or spicy prompts kicks ☺️

Skybooks · 24/09/2021 19:33

20 week scan today, all positive. Baby has a slightly bigger tummy so I'll need a gestational diabetes test later in pregnancy.

Also had flu and whooping cough vaccines whilst I was there. Very happy and content this evening but a little tired with sore arms.

feb2022 · 25/09/2021 08:29

My oldest boy has been awake since 4am... I'd been up 4 times for a wee before he woke up, feeling slightly like death right now 😂 😴
Also think I'm getting another cold... I'd do anything to go back to bed 😂

pusscous · 25/09/2021 17:47

@feb2022 that gender thing happened with my second baby, at 12 weeks the dr was convinced it was a boy. Quite stereotypical for here with a male dr and boys being societal preference 🙄. Turned out at 16 weeks he was wrong and he had to admit it to us. Luckily I hadn't bought anything by that point.

I had my 18 week appointment, should have been 16 week but schedule is off due to summer vacations the dr took. He scanned me and told me the gender but problem was the baby moved instantly and he couldn't see again nor could he or I take good photos as a the clarity on the scan and b the baby moved too much. We are so unsure that we may come to London to get a gender scan

Sunshine8888 · 26/09/2021 08:58

@feb2022 I feel for you, I also have a cold 🤧 and there’s just nothing we can take to help! 😭 it’s exhausting

feb2022 · 26/09/2021 09:43

@pusscous ohh gosh! That sounds like a real pain in the arse!
I'm sort of saying to myself the private scan place I went to surely do gender scans daily so they know what they are looking for, she did show me all angles... but I think I'm just paranoid 😂

feb2022 · 26/09/2021 09:46

@Sunshine8888 it's worse when you have other kiddos to look after isn't it... I just wanna take a sick day and go to bed haha!
The boys had colds last week which is just exhausting in itself... and now it's crept onto me so with the little bit of energy I have left I spend that up before lunch time sorting their breakfast/cleaning etc 😂
We just have to plod on I suppose lol

Jellybean8 · 26/09/2021 16:55

I've also been suffering with the world's worst cold! I read an article on BBC news about the awful cold going around which made me feel slightly less pathetic, but I'm into my fourth week of it now and it's definitely wearing me down!

I had actually eventually relaxed into pregnancy (after previous missed miscarriage and miscarriage in the last year) and then I made the mistake of looking up what the look for/can diagnose at the twenty week scan (12 days to go) and now I'm back to worrying and feeling detached from the baby again :(
Any advice would be really welcomed! Scans always bring me anxiety anyway so the idea of laying there through a lengthy scan is filling me with dread.

Skybooks · 26/09/2021 17:13

@jellybean8 similar history to you and have only just started to relax into enjoying pregnancy. 20 week scan was Friday and I let us buy the first baby outfit today, I still feel like something will go wrong. It's hard to stop those feeling but I work on enjoying what I can and being practical at other times. I really hope all goes well for you.

catinthehat12 · 26/09/2021 17:47

It’s starting to feel a lot more real, had a scan at 17 weeks, and 20 week scan is in 10 days time, however also feel like things aren’t definitely ok yet. I am not sure if we will ever feel that, but that’s totally normal.

I have started to feel movements the past couple of days, once they become more regular they will definitely comfort me. At the moment they’re a bit startling. Does anyone else jump when the baby moves? Yesterday I had a full kick it felt like, happened to have my hand on my lower abdomen and felt it on my hand too. This is my first so this is all new, I am sure I will get used to it!

2under2howscary · 26/09/2021 19:25

Can I join please? I'm due the 1st February, so 22 weeks on Tuesday. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be in this thread or the January one! Xxx

0Scapes · 27/09/2021 08:47

@catinthehat12 I’ve started feeling more definite movements in the last week now as well. I wouldn’t say they make me jump… just a bit odd 😂. There have been a couple of times where I’ve been able to feel with my hand when laying down flat and once my partner has managed to feel too. This does still seem to be quite rare at the moment still so can’t wait for him to feel more involved!

I’m also having scan anxieties - ours is on Friday so not too much longer to go now. Thankfully it’s in the morning so we haven’t got to wait around all day for it.

Hope everyone who’s been feeling poorly recovers soon x

Peachi82 · 27/09/2021 09:35

Our 20 weeks scan is today and I am rather nervous.

0Scapes · 27/09/2021 09:53

@Peachi82 hope everything goes perfect x

Winterfellismyhome · 27/09/2021 09:54

Best of luck! @Peachi82

@Peachi81 good luck! Xxx

Peachi82 · 27/09/2021 10:18

So kind of you all!
Just cleaned the bathroom and the downstairs toilet to distract myself. We're setting off in 10 minutes 😬

2under2howscary · 27/09/2021 10:35

I'm 22 weeks tomorrow, and the heartburn is killing me! That and the kicks to the bladder xx

Peachi82 · 27/09/2021 13:43

It went all well, so relieved. All looking normal, baby was wriggling away. We are firmly staying team yellow 💛
I have an anterior placenta, I suspected this as the movements feel different than with my son.

2under2, you can ask your GP for a prescription for omeprazol. It was the only thing that helped for me.

glasspaw · 27/09/2021 13:54

Anyone else starting to get real nesting urges? I thought they’d hit me a couple of months before the birth but I’m in week 20 and all I want to do is start preparing for baby. I’m finding myself getting really irritated by every task I need to do which doesn’t have anything to do with the baby room.

Is anyone else feeling the same? This is my first pregnancy so I wonder if I’m just overexcited 😅
