Hope2022 · 04/09/2021 08:15

Didn’t want all the details visible 🙈

My sickness also has really started to subside, I am 15 weeks. Headaches are a bit more common instead though. My bump has also come out of nowhere, I have always been quite slight and I am now at that awkward stage where people are eyeing me up but don’t feel confident enough to ask. Grin

Otherwise, quite quiet here now and I am definitely enjoying it. That first trimester was awful.

Thank you @cheesemarmitepanini
If the consultant won't listen to heartbeat, I'll phone one of the nearest companies and ask for a non gender scan, just for reassurance even though they don't offer it on their website.
Bloody complicated.

I'm still hoping to feel distinct movements over the next few days/a week, that would help as well.

I can't remember, is this your first pregnancy?
Peachi82 · 04/09/2021 16:47

No, third. However, we lost the second baby earlier this year at 10 weeks.
I did feel my son around 16 to 18 weeks, so won't be far off now I guess. Unless I have an anterior placenta. With my son I only had the NHS scans, so I have no experience with private companies in the area.

Sunshine8888 · 05/09/2021 15:22

Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone has spoken to a midwife / dr and been given the go ahead to take immodium in pregnancy? Everything I read says it’s best not to without seeking medical advice but I’m on holiday and have an upset stomach which just isn’t going away on its own. It’s really horrible and I’m worried it’s going to ruin the holiday as I can’t really go anywhere!

SouthwestSis · 05/09/2021 16:00

@Sunshine8888 your symptoms are highly likely to be infectious so you really shouldn't be going anywhere until you've had at least 24hrs without diarrhoea or you'll make others sick too!
Sorry its ruining your holiday, rubbish timing. Hope you're feeling better soon

Sunshine8888 · 05/09/2021 16:26

@SouthwestSis oh I know that which is why i am currently sat in the garden while my husband and daughter are at the seaside… my question is about whether I could take Imodium which may help speed up my recovery.

glasspaw · 05/09/2021 21:43

I think I felt my first kicks this evening (in week 17)! I have only really been drinking water for 15 weeks and today I really fancied something fizzy so I had a lemonade, 5 mins later and I got some really distinct jabs on the right of my bump. It happened a few times over the last hour.

Wasn’t expecting to be so sure that it was what I was feeling when they first came. Very strange but also sort of lovely and reassuring.

feb2022 · 06/09/2021 14:08

@glasspaw awww that's amazing!
It's the best feeling isn't it 🥰

Rose212 · 06/09/2021 15:29

If anyone has an anterior placenta when did you feel the first kicks. I havent felt anything yet and im 18 weeks this Thursday!

LadyBecks22 · 06/09/2021 15:52

@Rose212 I think mine is anterior (pretty sure that's what my last scan sonographer said) and I haven't felt any kicks. Sometimes think i feel bubbles but it's not every day. I'm 18 weeks on Saturday.

I have an anterior placenta and I'm 18+1 and I still haven't felt anything. Honestly feel so gutted about my placenta but I try not to be! Hopefully will feel her move in the next few weeks 🤞🏼
Chartreusegreen · 06/09/2021 17:02

I have an anterior placenta but have been feeling the baby for a while now. I think that's because it's my second and this baby is seriously active Grin

overtherainbo · 06/09/2021 17:05

@Rose212 I have a anterior placenta. I'm measuring 18 weeks today. I haven't felt anything yet, it's my third. My midwife said if I get to 24 weeks and still feel nothing I can be put on the monitor in hospital for reassurance

Rose212 · 06/09/2021 17:08

@overtherainbo @Chartreusegreen @babyD20 @LadyBecks22
Ok thats reassuring so many anterior placentas 😀

feb2022 · 06/09/2021 17:28

I have no idea where my placenta is 😂 I never got told and forgot to ask at the scan with all the excitement, it's not in my notes either 🤷🏻‍♀️

Rose212 · 06/09/2021 17:44

@feb2022 haha

Skybooks · 06/09/2021 18:29

O believe I'm in the anterior placenta group too, I've had a few bubbles or jabs but no district movement. This is 3rd pregnancy, second to have got this far so hopeful I'll feel more soon.

I've got my 16 week appt tomorrow (I'll be 17w5day) so hopefully I'll hear heartbeat to reassure me.

@feb2022 I never found out where my placenta was in first pregnancy I think they only mention it off it's anterior

becarefuloutthere · 06/09/2021 18:42

When do they tell you where your placenta is? I'm 16 weeks tomorrow and have my midwife appointment next week. Must remember to ask then as I have no idea about mine!

Rose212 · 06/09/2021 18:54

@becarefuloutthere i found out at my 12 week scan on my notes
