@becarefuloutthere

When do they tell you where your placenta is? I'm 16 weeks tomorrow and have my midwife appointment next week. Must remember to ask then as I have no idea about mine!
I learned something interesting about placentas. Even if you have an anterior one at this stage, they can, and regularly do, move. They tend to grow up and back and as your bump grows the placenta can move back that way too.
becarefuloutthere · 06/09/2021 20:20

Thanks @Rose212 I'll take a look at my notes!
@Chartreusegreen how interesting, thank you 😊

Peachi82 · 06/09/2021 20:30

My 12 weeks scan report just says fetus with heartbeat present. The scan was really short and she literally really only checked this. Not sure if it was because we opted out of the screening for Downs and T13/18. I'm still worried something is not right.

feb2022 · 06/09/2021 21:34

@Skybooks with my 1st I was posterior and I was told at the 12 week scan 🤔
I'll just have to ask the midwife next week for my 16 week appointment 😂
Or I might book a gender scan for this weekend and I'll ask then maybe,
I haven't made up my mind yet 😅

Anybody suffering insomnia? Been awake since half 1 and just can’t back to sleep ☹️

StephanieJ · 07/09/2021 06:54

@feb220222 YES!! I'm house sitting for my grandparents so weather that's involved as well I'm not sure but I've been here 3 nights and I think I've had about 7 hours sleep over all three! Last night I finally dropped of at 3am and I've been wide awake since 5:30! I'm working full time as well but seem to still have bags of energy but know the lack of sleep will catch up soon haha

feb220222 · 07/09/2021 06:58

@StephanieJ I’m the same still working full time! Once I’m awake that’s it there’s no drifting back off to sleep, maybe my body is preparing me for when baby arrives and the sleep deprivation!

StephanieJ · 07/09/2021 07:05

@feb220222 yeah I'm the same and I had such a bad day yesterday with sickness (pretty such caused by reflux) I was sick about 7 times so thought I would sleep but not haha. Ooo that's a good way to look at it, we'll see if we feel the same when babies arrive and we're begging just for a 5 minute nap haha

glasspaw · 07/09/2021 07:44

@StephanieJ @feb220222 the heat is making sleeping quite uncomfortable. Starting to realise how fortunate we all are to have a February due date cause the thought of being heavily pregnant in summer is frankly hideous 😅

Sunshine8888 · 07/09/2021 08:27

No one replied but incase it’s helpful for anyone else, having spoken to both midwife and pharmacist it is not recommended to take Imodium in pregnancy so just have to ride it out.

I’ve been feeling movements since around 12 weeks 🥰

CurlyWurlyTwos · 08/09/2021 04:07

@feb220222 - currently having insomnia! My sleep has been pretty poor for the last 2 weeks really. I dose off about 5.30 - 6 am to have to get up at 7.30 ! I ALWAYS need the loo between 2-3 despite going to the loo before bed!

I had my 16 week appointment yesterday. I've asked for an elective and it was straight fwd, going to have consultant appointment at 34 weeks and section at 39 wks. The midwife already looked at my potential delivery date being 8th or 11th Feb (electives take place on Tues & Thurs).

She was great, no pressure for vbac or giving extra advice.

@Rmw99 love leggings are GREAT recommendation! Planning to order their jeggings next!

I don't have many clothes that I fit into, but want to to buy too much either! I've ordered some second hand jo jo jeans from Vinted and hope they arrive soon!

CurlyWurlyTwos · 08/09/2021 04:09

Hope you start to feel better soon @Sunshine8888 Thanks!

Thanks for sharing, I'm feeling shattered most days (I still don't have the 2nd trimester bounce) so feeling portly on top would be awful!

Hope you mange a rest on your holiday if nothing else!!!

babyD20 · 08/09/2021 09:51

Has anyone else been having back ache and stiffness in their lower back at all?

haidri · 08/09/2021 11:30

@babyD20 yes! I get it really bad if I'm sitting for a long time in one position or during sleep 🥺

Rose212 · 08/09/2021 20:19

@babyD20 yes i have lower back pain too

becarefuloutthere · 09/09/2021 09:05

@babyD20 yes me 🙋🏾‍♀️ along with pelvic pain so will be bringing it up with the midwife next week in case it's spd/pgp.

Had our early gender scan last night and for those not on fb it's a girl! Beyond thrilled 😄

feb2022 · 09/09/2021 11:12

@becarefuloutthere aww congrats on your little girl! How wonderful 💕
Yeah Im also joining the sore back crew!
Ive hoovered & mopped the floors and ive had to sit down, night time is the worst too!

Anyone getting heartburn?
Mine is kicking off big time!
I ate 3 wotsits the other day and paid for it all day 😂
Having to lie propped up with 5 million pillows to ease it 🤢

becarefuloutthere · 09/09/2021 13:18

@feb2022 thank you 😊 ooh yeah defo have a rest after that. I keep walking past our dusty corners and pointing them out to Dh but he's still not sorted them. 😖 I'm not giving in 😂
Don't have heartburn thank god, doesn't sound fun!

Oh and ladies I also have an anterior placenta so I'm in that crew too!

MStarG · 09/09/2021 17:01

Yes, I have horrible heartburn! And almost constant nausea still. I'm 16 weeks and thought it would have eased off by now but seems to be getting worse! I'm sleeping about 10 hours a night too Blush
How much weight have people put on? I've not put any on which is starting to concern me, I've been making myself eat even when I don't want to so I'd expected to put on a little by now. It's so hard having such a big gap after the 12 week scan, anxiety is creeping back again.

Sunshine8888 · 09/09/2021 19:01

I also have lower back pain! I’m 18+4 and have my nhs scan next Weds, hope everything is ok 🤞🏻

Sunshine8888 · 09/09/2021 19:05

Thank you @CurlyWurlyTwos! Much better thanks!

Congrats @becarefuloutthere 💖

catinthehat12 · 09/09/2021 19:38

I am 16w+1 and haven’t heard from my midwife regarding my 16 week appointment. I think it’ll be over the phone. With my first appointment over the phone, they said they would call me at some point in Week 9 (at any point within working hours), so feeling like my 16 week appointment might also be the same. Anyone else had similar?

Hope2022 · 09/09/2021 20:07

Hey ladies!
Hope you’re all doing ok!
I’m 18+1 and can definitely feel this bump growing! Yesterday my tummy felt like it was really stretching. I’ve got lots of pelvic region stretching and round ligament pains. Boobs feel like they’re growing again! 😂 I only feel nauseous if I’m hungry. Tiredness hasn’t massively improved to be honest but I’m trying to take my vitamins that contain iron everyday rather than just to folic acid.

I have my 20 week scan next week, I’ll be 19+2. I’m feeling a little anxious, but also excited to see baby again soon 😍

Trigger alert birth
Can we talk birth??
So I had a 3rd degree tear with my first and I’ve been out under consultant this time to discuss C Section. Although, I’m not one to opt for major abdominal surgery, I’m not sure how I feel about risking another tear.. I had a water birth the first time, which they said I could do again. But when I spoke to the midwife this week she mentioned I may need an episiotomy.. which I’m doubting can be done in a pool plus I’m really uncomfortable with drs etc down there since the tear.
So my question really is would you risk another tear or go for the section??

feb220222 · 09/09/2021 20:16

@catinthehat12 i had my 16 week appointment yesterday it was in person, got to hear the heartbeat and got weighed and urine sample etc, and they book my next appointment when I’m there! Xx

Rmw99 · 10/09/2021 07:58

@CurlyWurlyTwos amazing! Glad you like them 🙂

Is anyone else suffering with extreme tirednes? I'm 19 weeks tomorrow and my god it's just getting worse and worse. I go to bed at half 9 but I am getting up for a wee about 4 times through the night and then I have to be up at 6 30am so may e that's why but it just doesn't seem right my whole body feels like a dead weight 😔😔
