Thanks all for your kinds words, it dose help having people to moan too!!!

MincecePie I'm glad to hear everything is okay. When is your next scan, I would ask the sonographer to check that your cervix on the scan.

urted - I was taking cyclogest too and my gynae recommended I take it until 13 or 14 weeks. The babies placenta takes over at 12 weeks so by 14 it will definatley be in action and producing enough hormones. Good luck, I worried about stopping mine too and did it about 4 days before a scan so I could feel safe that all was well.

minspugs · 08/12/2007 14:53

have got a right cob on for some reason today, i think its because the weathers so horrid and it so dark.

thanks for the sciatica advice, will have a try later.

bouncing turtle - hope your feeling better hun, its my worst nightmare fainting in a shop, ive never actually fainted but i did get dizzy in debenhams a couple of weeks ago and couldnt get out quick enough.

goingfor3 - big hugs hun, glad your having a scan on wed, hopefully give you some extra reassurance that all is fine x

urted · 08/12/2007 18:43

Thanks all for your welcome and advice. I'm not due for more close monitoring - my private clinic has signed me off - but reading the thread here, I think the general theme is if you're worried, get it checked out! so I will.

Goingfor3 it sounds like you've had a really hard time - really hope this one works for you.

TwilightSurfer · 09/12/2007 12:13

It's official. I'm checking constantly. Is it normal to get the feeling things are just going to fall out or is it just post tramatic miscarriage disorder ? Every little bit of dampness (sorry tmi) makes me pause. Crampy/stretchy pains are making me only slightly anxious too. I don't remember them startting so early as I'm only 4+3 today. Is that normal?

Sorry ladies, I'm just having a worry moment.

Bouncingturtle · 09/12/2007 13:29

TS - it is entirely normal and pyschological in nature methinks. Having lost one baby, the fear of losing another is very pervasive. You have so much emotional investment in that little being inside you that you cannot detach yourself from the fear it's all going to wrong again. The only thing you can do is to take each day at a time and remember you don't have to go through this alone - you have your dp who will also be feeling pretty anxious too, I'd imagine - and most importantly you have us to support you and hold your hand, because we've been through it too.
HEALTHY AND WELL!!!

SantasGotABigFatEllieG · 09/12/2007 13:34

TS - ditto to what she said! I don't think it is too early to get stretching pains - I had them right from the off, so don't fret unless they become very bad and sharp. Lots of aches and pains is normal. I spent the whole first few weeks it seemed with a hot water bottle over my tummy to ease it off, and all is fine.

Healthy and well lady x

SantasGotABigFatEllieG · 09/12/2007 13:35

Oh and welcome to urted - sorry you have to be here, but you will find a lot of support, and is lovely to have you.

Glad all ok with minicece

goingfor3christmaspuddings · 09/12/2007 13:38

TwilightSurfer all very normal! The fact that everytime I wee I question whether it was wee and not my wanters breakings probably a tad over anxious!

minspugs · 09/12/2007 13:47

ts - cramps are normal hun, its baby burrowing in deeper.

becklesparkle · 09/12/2007 13:47

Twighlight, I second what Bouncing said. I used to check everytime it felt really damp and still do it occasionally. It is natural to worry and over analyse - you are probably noticing twinges more, for instance, because you are looking for them.

Healthy and well hun x

mcchesers · 09/12/2007 14:04

Don't worry about it Twigh..feel free to vent here. I had all kinds of twinges and teaks at 4/5 so all perfectly normal..so is being a worry wort

If it makes you feel better hon, I'm having a crabby day here. Around 9 wks today. Seems a wee break from morning sickness..everything has sort of settled down but then again I went to bed last night at 9pm and woke up all night to pee and got out of bed at 9am. I'm still lounging in my pjs. Just don't feel like doing anything...afraid of future of bean, clothes don't fit..big weepy pregnant stereotype. I just can't seem to get it together...and MIL is getting on my nerves.
She's sniffing around our spending, telling me how it's going to be and what kind of nappies I'll use and how much this means to her so I'd "better be careful this time" and how she never worked and it wasn't a problem for them. (yeah in 1975) Get a grip, talk about a fantasy world! Gee, guess I'll have to quit mountain climbing and smoking crack.

DH just tells me to ignore her..she only had one son and that was 32 years ago. All I know is my mom doesn't talk to me like that...she just wants me to come home, so I'm torn in two directions. Boo hoo, sorry having a pity party. DH has put on some tunes and got out the Christmas box and we're trying to get into the mood and I'm such a
ok rant over..hugs to all the ladies!!

TwilightSurfer · 09/12/2007 15:57

Good it's nice to be normal . Thanks! And Mcchesers we are birds of a feather...still in my pjs as well (and i'm NOT changing!!). I'm taking the day off. Well at least the afternoon. I did work on the budget this morning as I went on a HUGE shopping spree yesterday. My fear's been my morning sickness will hit me hard and I won't be able to finish...then we'll have family and guests arrive...I think I've got it all covered now. Can't say the budget looks pretty but it's JUSTIFIED.

Any body find it hard not to buy bean stuff instead of Christmas gifts? I was a good girl and only bought one maternity shirt yesterday but it was soo cute and they only had the one. JUSTIFICATION

I'm going to just sit back with a cup a tea and enjoy the next nine months. Cake anyone?

franfoxy2003 · 09/12/2007 21:32

hey can I join! found out i was pregnant on tuesday completely over the moon cos lost my 2nd child in june (was 11.5 weeks)

am very paranoid and cant stop panicking over the slightest twinge and slightest feeling of being slightly moist (sorry tmi i know)

x

Bouncingturtle · 09/12/2007 21:38

Welcome Franfoxy

OP posts:
franfoxy2003 · 09/12/2007 22:12

thanks...how can i get over my paranoia?

SantasGotABigFatEllieG · 10/12/2007 09:19

How you feeling today mcchesers and TS? Is entirely normal to be sad and tired and grumpy and yukky feeling and teary, so stay in your pj's as long as you want and ignore anyone who puts pressure on you. Oh and vent here. You will feel physically a bit better 2nd trimester x

Welcome to franfoxy - I'm afraid there isn't any way of getting rid of the paranoia, but it helps to get it off your chest here! We have a mantra - 'healthy and well' repeated whenever the paranoid thoughts come along. Your baby is healthy and well, and I'm sure will continue to be

becklesparkle · 10/12/2007 11:30

Welcome Franfoxy, firstly there is no such thing as TMI on here. Secondly, we are all here to listen to you and support you, please just talk anytime you need to and we'll do our best to reassure you.

Glimmer · 10/12/2007 12:07

Hi all. Took me a long time to catch up with the thread. Thanks so much for the good wishes. We are doing well and my BP and liver values are slowly returning to normal.
Seems life will be way too busy to post regularly but be assured I will be lurking and wishing you all the best with my heart.

For the first timers among you, here some things I wish would have known or that really did help (you are probably all much better prepared...)

  1. I wish I would have done some mild weight training to have more strength in my arms to lift the baby, because ..
  2. I have lost most core strength in my belly and lower back and feel very unstable around the middle. Plus, I wasn't prepared for the huge leftover belly...
  3. I am very glad I had spend a lot of time on my birth plan. Although I had to give up on most things because of the pre-eclampsia, I believe it was largely due to the birthplan that I got a chance of delivering vaginally and I got the impression, that I was more included in the decision-making process, because I knew of my right to disconsent.

I know these thing are the last on your mind right know, especially if you are in the first trimester, but i was so concerned about everything working out with the pregnancy, that I didn't prepare enough for the time afterwards.

Just my experience. Healthy and well to you all!

hotchoc · 10/12/2007 15:20

hello everyone - greetings from the twilight zone.... i met my beautiful daughter a week ago and this is the first time i have got near the pc. she was 8lb 5 and the c-section was the most bizarre experience i've ever had but i am over the moon. she is perfect in every way.

sorry it's taken so long to let you know, i'll be back soon properly

love hot chocx

sweetkitty · 10/12/2007 15:29

hotchoc - aww congratulations again, have you a name for your minichoc?

mcchesers - smile sweetly everytime MIL says anything baby related then ignore it completely. My mother is the same telling me what to expect because thats what happened to her 30 odd years ago erm things have changed every hospital does it differently as well. She has stopped "advising" me know as I think she has come to realise I never take a blind bit of notice of her.

franfoxy - hello and welcome, this is a great thread if you are feeling worried and paranoid we all are, hence the knicker checker title. I hardly allow myself to think about being pregnant and having a baby at the end of it. Can't discuss names or the sex or anything yet. Feel as I was so excited with the other two. Can't wait until I can feel him/her move and can begin to believe I may be having another baby.

Bouncingturtle · 10/12/2007 15:55

becklesparkle · 10/12/2007 22:26

Just did a search for Mad4Girls and she last posted on 24th August, hope she is okay. Wonder if she has had her LO yet???

TwilightSurfer · 10/12/2007 23:50

Evening ladies. The nurse finally called me with my HCG levels from last Thrusday. On 11DPO my HCG was 41. That's pretty good. Now the doc wants to do the bloods again on Wednesday (7 full days later) PLUS he wants to do an ultrasound. What's he going to be able to see at 17DPO? After much calendar/spreadsheet work I've determined that would be CD32. I can't figure out how to do the Week Plus Day thing yet...feel free to offer instruction. But really, can he see anything of importance that early???

Felt really good all day today. Didn't even gag when I had my bi-yearly dental cleaning this morning. My appetite is through the roof and I'm just shoveling it in. Seems I'm craving only quality foods...berries, veggies, etc. I tried an avocado for the first time this evening just because it suddenly sounded good.

Now if I could transfer my good state of mind over to my screaming 3.10 year old DD, today would have been absolutely perfect. The dear child had to go to the nursery director today because she refused to follow instructions given by her nursery teacher. I just told them WELCOME TO MY WORLD. She's finally comfortable enough in class to truly act like herself. That will all change in a few days when Winter Holiday begins. OH JOY FOR ME...
