can someone explain this as im gobsmacked!!!

I got my bfp on the 30th november but am only 9+6 making it that i concieved on cd15!!

is that right??

p.s. baby had lovely beating heart

iliketosleep · 18/01/2008 16:37

no i got a bfp on cd15

Lcy · 18/01/2008 16:49

Hi ILTS - it could be that you ovulated late and tested really early. However, more likely to be the scan. When i went for one at 8.3 she told me i was 7.1 then remeasured and 30 seconds later i was 8.4. I now have little trust in the exact accuracy of these scans!

Important thing was the heart was beating x

feedmenow · 18/01/2008 17:13

Bouncing, sorry to have got your hopes up then dashed them

Fettle, in my dream it seemed that only I (and the nurses/mw's)knew the importance of the size and shape of the pumpkin, and the other 2 mums-to-be who I was with had no idea so just picked "nice" looking ones. I chose a rather small one that had a pointy lump to one side as, in my dream, I thought that if the head was already cone-shaped it would be easier to birth!! P.S. My ds's head measured off the chart when born, so I am understandably nervous!!!!!

Gracie, welcome. As others have said, people who haven't mc'd can't really understand the fear. If I were you I would avoid discussing it with people in r/l until you feel safer, and just come in here for regular rants and panics. I think my "denial" in the early weeks continued for some time and I am now left with only 9 weeks to go with a "nursery" full of junk and paperwork with stripped walls, no carpet and skanky paintwork. This, in turn, means that i have a pile of stuff in my bedroom for the baby (including dismantled baby furniture) which means our room is a tip too! Dp and I have got LOTS to do over the next few weekends.....

ILTS, I agree with Lcy - the scan was probably wrong, maybe a little combined with early ov perhaps. I wouldn't worry anyway, as EDD's are, IMO, just pure pie-in-the-sky stuff!

Jules, how are you today?

And Nervousal? Have you rested up a bit today? How are things looking?

ILTS and jules great news about the scans.

Jules a boy how lovely, I'm amazed they could tell so early! Annoying you had to go privatly though.

ILTS, even though I was having scans nearly every week at the start they wouldn't date the pregnancy until I was 12 weeks as that it the most accurate time to do it.

DonDons · 18/01/2008 18:21

yay jules - fantastic news! am so pleased for you

Gracie - as the other girls have said, it doesn't matter when/how long/what circumstances your MC before was - that's why we are all here and much as people in RL try to understand, I do think that unless you have been through it, you can't appreciate the hell of an MC. My story is similar to yours in the length of time TTC etc and even at 27+3 I still worry every day. Don't fret about worrying because the truth is whatever you do the outcome, good or bad, will probably be the same. Just try and think 'healthy and well', rant at us whenever you need to, and fingers crossed for a very boring pregnancy.

kd73 · 18/01/2008 21:40

Jules - I am so relieved for you. A little boy how wonderful!

Nervousal - any news? Hope all is well.

I am doing ok

spugs · 19/01/2008 09:21

jules - brilliant news, hopefully the bleeding will stop soon and you can enjoy the rest of your preg

hi to everyone else

meglet · 19/01/2008 09:58

hi all,

gracie sorry you are feeling so worried, I hope everything is ok and the rest of your pregnancy is wonderfully boring.

twilight great to hear that you are still going strong .

I have started spotting brown / greyish old blood at 7 weeks, so dashed to the docs yesterday at 6pm. Doc obviously couldn't get me a scan at the weekend but is going to call me on monday morning and see how I am, so I'll get him to sort out an early scan maybe next week. I know that the brown blood isn't the end of the world but after my mc in Nov I'm panicking.

duvetheaven · 19/01/2008 10:20

Hi all

Gracie glad you found this place as it really helps. Would echo what others have said including Kate that unless you have been there with miscarriage , others don't really know how it can affect future pregnancies.

I read more than I post but always want to thank those who share their experiences. I have had two miscarriages. I am currently pregnant 6 + 4 . Had a scan 6+2 earlier in the week and heartbeat detected. Very emotional. Having pretty bad sickness at the moment.
Taking it a day at a time and taking nothing for granted.

becklespeckle · 19/01/2008 10:40

Hi all! Hope everyone is healthy and well. Have not had time to catch up properly as my new DD has been keeping me very busy! Just wanted to say to all of you who are going through a tough time and approaching milestones that it does get easier as you get bigger and feel baby move although I didn't completely relax until I held my little girl. I am keeping fingers crossed (and legs too now LO is here!) that your little ones keep holding on.

Daisy, I am so sorry to hear about your Mum. I lost my Mum to cancer 18 months ago and I still forget at times that she is gone. I feel incredibly sad that she will never meet Evie - I am so glad you had some time with your Mum before she went (and I'm sure you will treasure the pic of her and babyboo forever) and I hope the funeral went well. Hopefully will be organised enough to pop onto the p/n thread soon! xxx

Jules, so glad your LO is still okay (even if he is still scaring you occasionally), he will never replace the son you lost but he will be a great comfort to you when he arrives!

KD, so sorry to hear your news, life is so unfair. I lost 2 babies in a row before I fell pg with DD and despite the fact I had had another m/c before they would not investigate as they were not consecutive. I don't think the medics have the understanding (or the time) of what heartbreak we go through when we lose a LO. I really hope 2008 will be a better year for you and you'll have a LO in your arms by the end of it.

Goingfor3, glad your scan went well! Another girl too! I think it's awful when people assume you will be disappointed, how could anyone be disappointed with a beautiful healthy baby? As for BHs, I understand why you would worry so much, I hope you have not had any more. I had them from about 20 weeks with DD and yet she was still very late so hopefully it was just because you overdid it a bit that day.

P2B fab news about your scan too!

MrsMc, sending you loads of positive labour vibes and hoping it all goes smoothly for you!

Thank you all for your congrats too! Evie is a lovely baby, so alert and always looks slightly amused to me! She is feeding well although her weight has not gone up yet so still under MW care. Anyway, must go as it is nearly time for feeding again and I have not showered yet !

MerlinsBeard · 19/01/2008 14:28

Is there any news from MrsMcJnr yet?

Welcome to all teh newbies, am not meaning to be rude, am back to extreme knicker checking and finding it hard to read of bleeds -sorry!

(I have grade 4 anterior placenta praevia and am 31 weeks)

MrsMcJnr · 19/01/2008 14:59

Hey ladies woke up this morning without any labour like signs AGAIN got really impatient last night as a colleague who was due the day before me texted to say she?d had a lovely baby girl and that plus the 10 plus calls asking me where our baby was made me want to know the same thing!!!

Sweetkitty ? 25th would actually be quite a good date as its Burns? Night and at least people seem to come out of the January gloom for that up here! Still hoping for something sooner though!!

P2b ? fabulous! stay positive and remember those images

Janus ? hope the milestones get less important and you get more confident, I certainly felt better once I got past 24 weeks.

Thanks DonDons hope I don?t keep you all waiting too long!!

Feedmenow ? still here - maybe your dream got the date wrong? LOL at the pumpkin ? did they do miniatures?

Goingfor3 ? still smiling for you hon

Bouncing ? still waiting!! Hope all is going really well for you.

Gracie14 ? firstly congratulations wishing you a very happy and healthy pregnancy! Secondly, what you are feeling is totally natural, all of us on here have felt that way at some point and the support you can get here really, really helps so stick around and let us help you through it x

Nervousal ? hope you are feeling ok x

Justjules a boy, how lovely hon!! Keeping everything crossed for you,

Meglet ? try not too worry hon, I had bleeding at that stage in this pregnancy (now 40+4!!) it is more likely to happen around when your period would have been due and hopefully is nothing to do with your baby at all x

Mumofmonsters ? I hope you are keeping well x

Glad to hear everyone else is doing well ? healthy and well girls

MerlinsBeard · 19/01/2008 17:14

MrsMc and also taht you are still here!

Jules, i have another scan on thursday to see what the situation is. tbh a c section doesn't bother me its the worry of a big bleed and not having anyone to come see the boys and take care of them. Also DP can't work if i am admitted, which is fair enough but he won't get paid either I just want to know either way so i can make plans!!

he has so many jobs and some of them are SE, some he can do from home (the imports he can do, the teaching he cam shift to do some at home) he has only parental leave which we want him to take afterwards. He is going to squash up his hours as much as he can, DS1 will be at school so he is working round the school day as much as poss.

DS2 is starting with a CM friend nxt week for 1 day a week so he is settled(can't afford more), MIL fosters and can't juggle as the baby she has is going thru the meeting new parents stage and the 6 yo she has is going thru a VERY angry stage. FIL works full time as does my mum and DS2 has language issues which mean that he can only go with someone who i trust will make an effort to understand him tis hard!!
