Same here but lazy so only do one or two!

Hi PLP! How are you? How is Cerys doing? Has she got to have many more ops? Hope you are both well!

Sweetkitty, I am getting to that stage! The longer baby stays in there the more time I have to worry about complications. Plus, I know baby is likely to be large (and I am not) and the longer it stays in, the bigger it will get! Family and friends are having a sweepstake on the size...

Hi everyone else - hope you are all healthy and well, sending lots of positive thoughts your way xxx

spugs · 05/01/2008 11:19

wow beckle, just saw your bump pic that is a large bump (but the rest of you is so tiny!) i reckon 8lb 10 oz is there a prize for the winner

TS - i am now doing pelvic floor excercises as you have reminded me i said i was going to do them when i was on here

Hello all - i have good news!

I went for my private scan today and we saw a little baby with a strong heart beat measuring exactly right for dates (8 wks and 3 days). We could even see where the legs and arms were begining to grow. The lady who did the scan was fantastic and spent ages explaining everything to us. We went in there expecting to see another missed miscarriage so you can imagine how much i cried when i saw a healthy bean.I have another private reassurance scan booked for 10 weeks - best money i have ever spent.

Thanks to everyone who has supported me over the last couple of weeks. I chanted Healthy and Well, Healthy and Well, Healthy and Well in my head all the way to the scan x

sweetkitty · 05/01/2008 13:37

beckle - thats one lovely bump you remond me of me all bump nothing else. What weights were your other two? DD2 was 12 days late and 9lbs 3ozs but a much easier birth than 6lbs 3ozs DD1 no stitches or anything. Plus when they are big you don't seem to worry about them as much, DD2 was 10lbs a week later fed really well from the start. Much better to have a big bouncy one than a little skinny one you worry about.

jules - one more week to go for you until the magic 12, best of luck for your scan x

sweetkitty · 05/01/2008 13:38

Lcy - x posted with you, brilliant news, good way to put your mind at ease, roll on another 2 weeks for you x

Good news about your sister Jules in the circumstnaces.

I am keeping everything crossed that you will soon be joining us on the Due in July thread and in a few months we will be moaning about heartburn and Gaviscon and sharing birth stories, now that will make a great 2008. Hang on in there x

becklespeckle · 05/01/2008 14:12

Hi guys, thanks for your comments on my bump!

Spugs - 8lb 10oz is the lowest weight anyone has guessed yet! Only DH reckons it will be under 9lbs. Prize will be a huge homemade virtual chocolate cake!

Jules, fab news about your sister, with any luck she will have no more heartache to go through and by the end of this year you will both have lovely babies. Bladder getting squashed is a great sign, that particular symptom usually gets bad towards 12/13 weeks until baby rises out of pelvis, fingers crossed for your scan next week! Are you still having any bleeding at all?

Sweetkitty, DS1 was 9lbs 1/2 oz (5 days late) and DS2 was 9lbs 4 oz (9 days late) so not expecting this one to be tiny! Your DD2 was a good weight! I agree about big babies though, they feed and settle very well - I wouldn't know what to do with a tiny one, they look so much more fragile!

Lcy, great news! Really glad you had such a good sonographer too, it really helps to reassure you!

Still no signs here, about an hour of painful tightenings last night but then they went - been getting that for days though so don't think it is a real sign. Have never been this pg before - did go 9 days over with DS2 but he was born in the early hours of the morning - afternoon on day 9 now and still no sign!

TJuice · 05/01/2008 15:19

hi everyone!

great news lcy! so happy for you

jules - hope you are doing well, the days are just crunching by, aren't they? hope your sister gets some answers soon.

i am doing okay but still nervous. when will i ever chill? i am 15 weeks and 2 days and still want to scan myself all the time. am thinking about buying a doppler thingy.

ZamMummy · 05/01/2008 16:10

Great bump beckle - reminds me of me with DS. I measured myself in terms of our fridge and was proud that I was as wide (in profile!) as it is He was also late, have you tried reflexology to get things going? It worked for me....

Lcy · 05/01/2008 17:38

Thanks everyone

TJuice - i cant believe you are 15 weeks!!! Time went so slowly when we had our mc's but now time seems to be flying.

Becklespeckle - you look fantastic.

Justjules- glad all is well with you and that your sister is going to get some help earlier on.

Twighlightsurfer - how are you today. Those pains you were having could be due to constipation as well as growing pains?

Ok off to see Bricklane at the cinema (already seen atonement and Elizabeth this week - cinema is such good distraction )

DonDons · 05/01/2008 18:02

OMG Beckle! You look fab but you've reminded me agin just how big we are all going to get (not that I can forget as all my family/friends keep saying 'you're going to be huge' - which is nice.....I don't think)

Great news Lcy

everyone else

spugs · 05/01/2008 19:27

lcy - thats fab news

jules - great news for your sis

beckle - i wish to change my guess (seeing the size of your last 2 ) 9lb 8 oz.
i have so far had fairly small babies 6lb 9 and 7lb 5 think i might make 8 lb with this one though as i feel bigger!

TwilightSurfer · 05/01/2008 23:27

Hey LCY, glad you went for that private scan...totally awesome!! I'm doing great today. Plumbing's working like clockwork so pains were definitely not that. BUT for sure it was growing pains as now I have this perfect little bump, very high and quite tight. Even DH can see it so I'm not crazy. This is way different than last pregnancy at this point (8+0 today). Gives me the warm and fuzzies that this pregnancy is moving along exactly as it should. Now mind you I'm not anywhere near Beckles perfect shape but I'm just as proud.

TwilightSurfer · 05/01/2008 23:29

Anybody heard from KD on any of the MN threads today? KD if you're lurking just know I've got you on my mind and hope you're okay.

TwilightSurfer · 06/01/2008 01:11

Okay I just got crazy and took pictures of my 8+0 belly...and then I posted them in my profile. Go laugh!!

Bouncingturtle · 06/01/2008 08:56

TS - I think it's sweet.

Hope KD is ok, must have been hard to receive such ambiguous news

OP posts:
cece · 06/01/2008 09:49

KD has started a thread in the miscarriage and bereavement section. I think she has had more bleeding and is expecting the worse

iliketosleep · 06/01/2008 10:12

can i ask you all a personal question...

now your pg after m/c do you still carry on with sex as normal?

the reason i ask is..

when i had my m/c i had the first bit of brown blood after sex. I now panic everytime dp makes a move and cant really enjoy it and then am on the toilet all night checking im not bleeding.

Sorry to just randomly ask but i want to see whether im overly paranoid

goingfor3 · 06/01/2008 10:18

I'm really sorry to hear about KD

ILTS - I hope all is well with you! I have avoided having sex because I am too paranoid about things going wrong but I'm sure that I read sex should be avioded if you have had recurrent mc's before 12 weeks but you can carry on as normal after 12 weeks.

EllieG · 06/01/2008 10:41

Hey all -

LOADS of congrats to lcy - so happy for you

Also yey for ts and her bump and jules and her 11 wk bean! Nearly there for 12 wk scan!

Beckle - your bump is fabulous - I would love to look like you at the end, but unfortunately am already rather chubby all round! I reckon over 9llbs for mini-beckle myself.

Thinking of you kd x

duvetheaven · 06/01/2008 11:11

Twilight - definite bump , you're not going crazy. Lovely pictures!

spugs · 06/01/2008 12:13

ts - definite beginings of a bump there i started like that at about 8 weeks with this one and now i have what appears to be a football shoved down my top will eventually do some pics.

ILTS - i unfortunatly go off sex completly when pregnant and have only recently began having it again hubby is very understanding about the whole thing bless him (its cos i wear him out ttc hes glad of the break) i definitly avoided it on purpose for the first 12 weeks though just in case even though doc seemed to think no reason to.

ellie - hiya, how many weeks are you now? have you found out what your having.

beckle - you still hanging on? noticed your quiettoday hope that babies putting in an appearence

TwilightSurfer · 06/01/2008 12:29

I abstained from sex with my first pregnancy and it was textbook. I did the same with the one I miscarried and I'll do the same with this one. DH never complains. He understands my body is busy right now doing a very important task. I don't know if it was the abstaining or the hormones or both but 8 weeks after DD was delivered I was attacking him. It more than made up for it all.

I think if having sex is causing you worry then just don't do it. There are other ways to get the job done.
