Hello!
That's good advice Holly.
Would just like to add, never dismiss your feelings. It is hard sometimes for people in RL to understand why you may be feeling negative, especially if they have never had a m/c. Don't be afraid to ask questions on here or of your MW - he or she is a professional and there won't be any questions he or she won't have heard before.
Kezza/KD - here's to boring and uneventful pgcies for you both.

kd73 · 22/12/2007 09:53

Thanks HSS and Bouncin".

Kezza, I understand entirely where you are at.

I am 9 weeks on Monday and suffered MC at 9 weeks in the summer after being told I would be unlikely to have children without assistance.

I went on holiday pretty much the day I discovered BFP and upon arrival I wanted to come straight home so that when (not if) it went wrong, I wasn't experiencing language difficulties etc etc. As it was things (touch wood) have been ok and whilst I went straight to my GP upon return, I have been told I didn't lose the pg on holiday (just all the symptons!).

Kezza, the abdominal pains sometimes have taken me by surprise and taken my breath away. They feel alot like bad period pains. Hope this makes you feel better. My gp told me what HSS said, each pg is different and don't compare yourself to others negatively.

Anyway "healthy and well" mantra keeps continuing......

minspugs · 22/12/2007 16:09

hi to everyone and all the new commers to the board, not sure how to stay sane till 12 weeks. grit teeth, try and think positive and come on here for lots of reasuurance

glad to hear everyones feeling well

feedmenow - apparently our hospital takes a week for results! not so sure about that with it being xmas though

Bouncingturtlewithtinsel · 23/12/2007 09:44

No baby here yet!
Just piles!

becklesparkle · 23/12/2007 11:28

Welcome to newbies, congrats on your pgs and hope they are really boring and uneventful!

KD, the only thing that kept me from going bonkers in the first 12 weeks was this thread, I found talking and hearing other's experiences really helped. As did speaking to the ladies further along than me, it showed me that there is happiness after m/c. It gets easier as you creep past your 'danger points' too although I can honestly say I still knicker check even at 39+3!

Hope everyone is healthy and well and those slapped cheek results will come back negative very very soon x

kd73 · 23/12/2007 11:34

Becklesparkle - thanks for the message. Glad to hear things have been good for you and I am sure it won't be long now - good luck and happy christmas

feedmenow · 23/12/2007 12:14

Hi everyone, and welcome newbies!

fettle, am desperatley trying to get into your profile to see Toby in his acting debut, but my PC is playing silly wotsits and won't let me!

Got my results from hospital and apparently I am immune to slapped cheek, so god knows what I had that made me have a bright red, bird-poo shaped mark on my face! I suppose it could be any old virus! But I'm just glad it wasn't parovirus, cos I just want an easy, simple, uncomplicated pg!

I am having a very emotional day today and it sucks. I have another stinky cold, and woke this morning feling poorly andmiserable, and have since been crying at the drop of a hat. Found out yesterday that my dd isn't with me for christmas dinner. Her dad insists that it was arranged ages ago that they were elsewhere with her, where as I know that she was supposed to be with them christmas eve and christmas morning then with me for the rest of the day. But she started getting a bit upset about having to chose, so I just said "no problem". However, it is actually making me feel really upset. And then my mum and dad rang earlier to say they'd had their cat put to sleep this morning and I started blubbing! Although I actually never liked the creature very much anyway!

Still in my pj's yet need to get washed and dressed and finish food shopping and house tidying. I feel

Bouncingturtlewithtinsel · 23/12/2007 13:32

FMW - poor you! Can shopping/tidying wait? You need to curl up with DD under the duvet and watch some films, with a nice hot cup of tea! And choccie biscuits!

jules & feedmenow - sorry your feeling so pants, hope you start feeling better soon.

good luck to the ladies who are due soon

petunia · 23/12/2007 14:12

Hi to all of you!

You don't know me, but I was where you are 2 years ago- 20 odd weeks pregnant, "knicker checking" and boob squeezing, scared of every little twinge after having a mc at 11 weeks. I now have a DD, Emily, born April 27th last year, who is a very active 20 month old!

Just wanted to wish you all a 'Happy Christmas', that your pregnancies are uneventful, and you have healthy little bundles soon!

feedmenow · 23/12/2007 16:33

Thank you petunia! It is always lovely to get the happy stories too

Am just about done for the day, so can now relax a little and wallow in my misery!

Jules, just wanted to say, i felt really detached at the beginning of this pg having only been through 1 mc, so I can only imagine how hard it must be for you. But if being detached at this stage helps you get through it then it is fine. Once you get past your danger zone you will gradually start to feel more confident and will find that "attachment". I have to say, I don't (or maybe won't?) believe in this pg 100% until I hold the babe in my arms, but for each mielstone that goes by then the bond grows stronger and stronger. It is awful to miss your lost ones so much, particularly at this time of year, but I always find it helpful to remember that if my lost LO hadn't been lost then I wouldn't be in the process of growing this LO now. It is, quite sadly, the way of the world. I often think that had my older sister not been extremely ill from birth then I probably wouldn't be here myself.

Anyway, off to chill out a bit now. Have a lovely evening all!

babylove21 · 23/12/2007 21:26

My goodness what sad reading. Cece i have nothing but admiration for you, you are so strong. I wish for you all the happiness you deserve and will get.
And for Jules, stay positive i for one have my toes and all crossed for you.
thinking of you all x

Bouncingturtlewithtinsel · 24/12/2007 10:22

Jules & Cece - thinking of you both today xx

becklesparkle · 24/12/2007 11:41

Thanks KD, same to you .

FMN, glad you didn't have slapped cheek (phew!) but sorry you're feeling rough. Hope you had a relaxing evening last night and feeling a bit more human today.

Jules, glad you are still hanging in there hun. I know just what you mean about feeling detached, I did not let myself believe I would be having a baby until I got past about 20 weeks and I still feel a little distant from it TBH. I won't believe it until I hold him/her. I have also found the whole thing a huge emotional struggle, especially the first few months - I have not been a joy to live with! I've got a good feeling for you this time though and have everything (except my legs) crossed for you.

Hope everyone else is Healthy and Well, Merry Christmas to you all if I don't get on here again for a while!

imdreamingofawhiteKITTYmas · 24/12/2007 15:59

hi all sorry not been around much recently, am officially 12 weeks tomorrow but still don't know if this one has made it yet. Am trying to be positive no bleeding since a week last Thursday still feel sick and am definitely getting bigger. Know what you all mean I cannot even talk about this pregnancy yet, I think it's an emotional defence thing we put up, detach ourselves in case the worst happens.

Anyway hopefully I'll be around a bit more in the future.

Merry Christmas to you all

ejt1764 · 24/12/2007 16:07

Merry Christmas to everybody on the thread from a recent graduate!

Mairwen is now 12 weeks old (today), and I cannot believe how quickly the time has gone ... when I recall how bleedin loooooong my pg was ... she is a beautiful little poppet - she has her moments, but then she is only 12 weeks old!

Anyway, just popping in to tell you all to hang on in there, not to worry about obsessing about the finer and more yucky things in pg - here's one of my posts from february here

love to all ...

TwilightSurfer · 24/12/2007 16:09

Sweetkitty {{{hugs}}} I've been struggling with every little pain myself. 6+2 and tired. The nausea is constant. I count those as good signs. Had a scary moment yesterday when I thought I'd started bleeding....was nothing. The fear is still very much on the surface. I almost feel like my excitement is in a secret little box that I can privately go open and enjoy. So desperately want to dance around in happy delight. Maybe soon.

Healthy and Well to all new and old.
Merry Christmas!

cece · 24/12/2007 23:07

fettle - picture looks loely

feedmenow - hope you are feeling better today

justjules - hoping for a good scan on 27th

bouncingturtle and babylove - thank you

Hope everyone has a noce christmas.

I am trying to be brave but feeling very sad this evening.

Wow Jules, how wonderful of you and your DH.

Merry Christmas! And a Healthy and Well New Year to you all!

No sign of Turtle as yet! Have had a few more contractions, but still not very regular!

gingercat12 · 26/12/2007 17:16

Sending lots of hugs and positive vibes for Christmas to you all.

We had a bit of a scare, but LO was feverishly attacking the fetal heart monitor for half an hour, so I was told he is clearly all right and I can travel. And I should be a bit more careful when you know... I think the name of the thread is perfect for us

Bouncingturtlewithtinsel · 26/12/2007 17:57

Ginger - babies don't like those monitors, i was on one a couple of weeks ago when I had a fainting fit in asda, and the baby was pushing it away quite hard!
