hi knicker-checkers

i have been checking loads this week, mainly because i am getting a lot of that stretchy womb pain feeling.

i am 12 plus 5 today and had a good nuchal fold scan today so i can be relieved for a while. actually, after having fortnightly scans through my first trimester, i now have nothing until week 20. training wheels are off!

did anyone give any doppler recommendations? i don't know whether i will just wind myself up or calm myself down but i think i want one . . .

twilight - congrats on mini-t. your daughter is a real cutie.

fran -also hope its not what you think. big hugs and support for you. xx

mcchesers · 18/12/2007 19:29

Hi TS - cute bean! I'm glad that you are feeling better about everything and that you have a new doctor. Sometimes that is all you need.

I've just come back from my booking in appointment and my little bean is looking fine. Healthy, good heartbeat, man what a wriggler!
I've never been to an antenatal clinic, so very exciting. I got a big bag of books and samples and had a whole load of blood taken.

Everyone was so happy and friendly. I go back on the 28th for a 15 week appointment and more blood tests. So now I can chill out over Christmas ..ahhh.

How's everyone else? Any other scans this week?

mcchesers · 18/12/2007 19:31

Hey Tjuice! Sorry crossed posts. Glad to hear you had a good scan today

franfoxy2003 · 18/12/2007 22:06

had m/c this wekend...my second one in 6 months and went to doctors today cos i was only 5 and half weeks i wasn't advised to go to hospital by nhsdirect. He wants me to do a preg test tomorrow morning because i haven't passed any fair sized clots (been like the size of a bit of dandruff and looked kinda like fleks too if that makes sense) do you think there is any hope even though my boobs have stopped hurting and my sickness has stopped?

franfoxy2003 · 18/12/2007 22:11

i meant flakes lol not fleks

cece · 18/12/2007 22:14

I hope it is good news for you tomorrow Fran

TwilightSurfer · 18/12/2007 22:34

Fran, anythings possible in the realm of babymaking.

MerryMichelmass · 19/12/2007 08:25

Blue,Blue,Blue,Blue,Blue.

Why do I feel as though this one is over before it's even started? I have no symtoms at all not even the paingful boobs that I ahve had the previous twice. I feel as thought my body is doing nothing and therefore I can only assume that's probably right.

I want to go home and go to my bed but I'm 250 miles from home and way to weepy to drive. It's going to be a blue Christmas in my house.

Sorry for being down but needed to voice.

I hope everyone else is having a healthy & happy day.

Bouncingturtlewithtinsel · 19/12/2007 10:33

Merry - this is where you need to vent feelings like this - so please don't feel you shouldn't. We've all stood where you've been now. Wish I could find the words to make you all feel less worried about your beans but I can't . All I can do is offer you lots of empathy and virtual hugs.

SantasGotABigFatEllieG · 19/12/2007 10:53

Merry - don't worry about venting here, we all understand.
Sorry you are feeling down. I know it's easy to say, but please try not to worry - my symptoms were very off and on at first. How many weeks are you?

Hugs to Fran x

I have another scan on tomorrow! Very excited/scared. Will let you know how she is

TwilightSurfer · 19/12/2007 11:45

I'm praying for massive symptoms to appear soon too. I'm very tired and cranky but I'm not puking all the time...a big symptom of my first pregnancy. And this morning my temp went down to 98.8F and it's been 99.something for three solid weeks. Could that be a sign things aren't going well?? ARGHHHH!! See Fran you're in good worrying company.

SantasGotABigFatEllieG · 19/12/2007 12:29

Healthy and well, healthy and well.....

makecakesnotwar · 19/12/2007 12:41

Healthy and well, healthy and well.....

Am having quite sharp pains in my lower abdomen. Nearly 17 weeks-is this normal....why is pregnancy so much more stressful and worry-filled than they tell you???????

Bouncingturtlewithtinsel · 19/12/2007 13:45

Makecakes - it could be the baby kicking you in a sensitive spot! You've not be straining yourself, you may have turned too quick and strained a muscle perhaps. There are 3 ligaments that help support the uterus and it is quite easy to pull them if you move too quickly so take it easy. If it persists ring your MW for advice.

SantasGotABigFatEllieG · 19/12/2007 13:48

I get sharp pains too - they are muscular feeling and MW told me not to worry as everything is a bit stretchy and weird at the moment, so only to fret if they became really bad.

Janus · 19/12/2007 17:30

Makecakes, I just read today that as you approach your second trimester this is when you do the most growing and so are much more prone to aches and pains. I am 19 weeks and sometimes have what are similar to period aches, of course I panic like mad but now I'm telling myself it is the growing, which I'm really glad I read about today. HTH.
Fran, how are you? So sorry you have all this worry and maybe things will still work out?
Bouncing and Beckle, who's going to be first??!! Could there be a Christmas baby??! I hope it goes well for both of you, what a wonderful Christmas present for you both, take care.
Hope everyone else is coping and staying well.

imdreamingofawhiteKITTYmas · 19/12/2007 17:37

hi ladies I'm still here hanging on in there 11 weeks today no bleeding for 6 whole days am starting to think things MIGHT be fine. Still knicker watching like a mad woman. Not heard about my 12 week scan yet will chase that up after Boxing Day next week.

Apart from that I am fed up with the "wanting a boy" comments, told my Mum today I don't care what the baby has between it's legs as long as it has a heartbeat.

LowFat · 19/12/2007 17:43

Just wanted to say after seeing the catchy thread title that I wish you all the best. I've had 2 babies, but have also suffered 3 miscarriages.

Knicker checking, and close inspection of the soggy loo roll, I've been there.

Both my DC's were conceived 6-8 weeks after MC's and the PG's were text book. (the labours too if that helps)

Good luck.
XX

minspugs · 19/12/2007 18:05

makecakes - i get loads of achy pains, if your worried ring mw they dont mind

merry - hope your feeling better

fran - i dont know what to say hun, i think you need to ask for a scan though to confirm if your right [hugs]

been to mw and booked home birth makes it all seem a bit more real. had bllod test and get results in a week so fingers crossed im imune to slapped cheek, if not then i have to see a consultant

TwilightSurfer · 19/12/2007 18:35

Sweetkitty GOOD FOR YOU!!! Glad all's well.

feedmenow · 19/12/2007 19:35

Evening ladies!

Fran, lots of love and luck to you xxx

Cece, how are you doing today?

Minspugs, great news about the home birth!! I wish I had that opportunity, but I think I'd be pushing my luck a bit after 2 sections!

Mrsmc, do you remember about 10 weeks ago I said how you are my "inspiration"; that I always feel like you are so much "ahead" of me, then I suddenly find myself where you were? well, it seems to have happened again! I am 27 weeks, you must be 36/37? After Beckle and Bouncing you'll be the Grande Dame!! Bet you never thought your name would be at the top, did you? It reminds me of one of those chain mail things, only when your name gets to the top instead of supposedly getting recipes/money you'll get a bouncing baby!!

I can ring and get my slapped cheek results tomorrow morning, and I also have an appt in the afternoon with the Cons. Midwife to discuss my vbac plans. What a busy day I have to look forward to!

Hope everyone else is healthy and well today.....

cece · 19/12/2007 21:36

hello

what a worry to wait for slapped cheek disease esults - hope they vcome back OK.

Good to see most people are healthy and well.

Fran - how are you?

feedmenow - thanks for asking about me. Not having a good day. DH marched me to an emergency appointment at the docotrs today. He says I am awake half the night crying and during the day I am on and off like a tap. Don't think I am coping very well.
GP has given me some sleeping tablets for a few nights as I feel exhausted. GP has also had the bereavement midwife phone me up and she is making a home visit tomorrow. I just seem to be feeling worse each day. I am hoping whe is going to tell me this is normal...

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 19/12/2007 21:42

oh, cece Have you looked at The Miscarriage Assoc Website. They have some useful leaflets, but maybe your hospital already gave you a copy?

There is a telephone helpline though; it might help to talk with someone who has been through a similar ordeal. I can only imagine what you must be going through.

{{{{{hugs}}}}}

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 19/12/2007 21:43

I hope you can have a good chat with the bereavemtn midwife.

cece · 19/12/2007 22:02

I have loads of leaflets that they gave me at the hopsital last week . I did read them when they gave me them but tbh I didn't probably take much in, perhaps I will look at them again tomorrow.

I am just so gratefull that I have such a wonderful DH.
