Hi all, couldn't see an April 2022 birth thread so thought I would start one.
I'm due mid April but need a dating scan to confirm as I have an irregular cycle.

@Hayesdays I'm also following the positive birthing company and telling myself the same- my body will gestate the right size baby for me.

4lbs5 at 32 weeks had me at 51st centile and this was the same centile as my fundal measurement.

@rosiej95 I'm hoping to breastfeed and haven't bought anything other than a basic pump and some nipple pads and cream. My hospital said they'd support me with my choice. If for whatever reason I can't they'll provide milk so she won't starve then DH can buy some formula for us. I did buy some mam bottles so that DH could try feeding but for now would love to exclusively breast feed. I'm taking 10months off

Hi all. Been a few weeks since I been on here!

I’m 34+3 now, had a scan today to check position of placenta & its move woohoo! Baby is also head down & right in my pelvis & let me tell you I am FEELING IT 😂

Hope everyone is doing ok. Are we all ready? Hospital bags packed? Xx

rosiej95 · 18/03/2022 05:58

Morning all

Had my last scan yesterday, the next time we now see our baby is when there in our arms 🥰

Baby was measuring at 7lb 2oz at 36+5 & there now saying baby is growing fine, on the higher end of the graph but still under on the 83rd centile so have discharged me from consultant care (I'll be honest didn't realise I was under consultant care thought they were just extra appointments 🤷🏼‍♀️😂😂 )
Baby is head down & ready so just a waiting game now 🙊

@shannonl26 such a nice feeling being told the placenta has moved 😂
Ready as ready can be 😂🙊
I'm feeling prepared but at the same time I don't think I'll ever be prepared haha

I'm officially on maternity leave now been spending the last few days decluttering the house & making sure everything is all tidy

Deffo in the nesting stage I think 🙊😂

Hope everyone else is ok 😍

Hayesdays · 22/03/2022 21:23

How’s everyone getting on? Any babies yet?!

Had my last growth scan today at 37+1 and we are weighing in at 7lb 9oz which I thought sounded big but apparently is on the 70th so no cause for concern!

Also had midwife appointment to discuss birth preferences and am aiming for a VBAC water birth - it’s all starting to feel real now…this is the most pregnant I’ve ever been! My first would be a week old by now eek…feeling like I’m on borrowed time so cleaning everything in sight haha! My 2.5 year old told me to hurry up her baby sister, she’s been waiting ages! Lol

shannonl26 · 23/03/2022 08:46

No baby here yet! I’ve got a consultation meeting on the 5th to get a date for my induction so that’s absolutely scaring the hell out of me Grin heard so many negative stories when it comes to inductions so just trying to remember every birth is different! My babies room is currently still full from stuff from the baby shower, I suppose I better go put it all away Grin

@rosiej95 I’m glad your last scan went wel! Isn’t it sad knowing no more scans? The next time we see our babies will be in the flesh?! Mental!

@Hayesdays I’m glad your doing ok. Time really has flown hasn’t it? I’ve got my 36 week midwife appt today at 36+5, last appt my bump was measuring ahead so got sent down for a GD test, all came back clear so hoping there’s no more concerns at todays appt!

rosiej95 · 23/03/2022 09:31

@shannonl26 yes I said to my boyfriend the next time we see baby they will be in our arms 🥰
It is sad but at the same time I'm relieved I haven't got any more scans. we haven't found out what we're having and the anxiety I get incase they accidentally slip up & let us know... especially being so close to the due date 😂

Oo thats exiting tho not much longer to wait
I've also heard really good induction stories too 🥰

@Hayesdays no baby here yet either,
I can feel them a lot more which is lovely so think there slowly running out of room 😂
Haha so cute that she can't wait for the new arrival 🥰

Hayesdays · 23/03/2022 10:53

@shannonl26 I’ve also heard positive induction stories, I’m sure it’ll be fine. Keep thinking positive thoughts! Good news about no GD though 👍

@rosiej95 I know very cute! I just hope she understands that she can’t be sent back if she doesn’t like her haha!
Haha that must be tough, we’ve known since 16 weeks, but have actually found it really hard to see any signs of gender on the scans! I have huge respect for team yellow parents, I’m so impatient about it!

My mum has arrived this morning to help me get baby’s room sorted so that’s a relief…as well as clean the entire house! Think it’s fair to say that I’m in full on nesting mode now.

shannonl26 · 05/04/2022 14:52

Hi all, how are we doing? Any babies made their appearances? I’m booked in for my induction on Friday when I’ll be 39 weeks! How exciting!

wannabeamummysobad · 05/04/2022 15:33

Counting down to starting maternity leave- last day on Friday !! Really hoping baby arrives next week (38 weeks) purely because it would be so cute to have a Easter baby. We'll see I guess.

Hayesdays · 05/04/2022 15:46

No baby here! Due on Monday and I’m booked in for a sweep eek…not had one before so feeling a bit nervous!

Have been painting skirting boards and going to pick up nursery furniture tomorrow…nothing like some last min prep lol

Nurselife2020 · 05/04/2022 16:00

Hey all,

Could I possibly join you all 😬

38+2 weeks over here! Booked in for a planned section next Monday so literally counting down the days. Feeling all the ranges of emotions atm. It’s half term here so I have my 5 years old daughter at home and we are just soaking up being together for the last time before baby comes ❤️

Anyone else booked in for a section?

TooMuchCheesecake · 05/04/2022 17:05

Hi! I'm booked in for a section on Thursday, 2 days to go! I'll be 39 weeks.

This is baby number 3 but my first c section. Starting to feel a bit nervous now, I can't believe I'll have my baby in 2 days time.

shannonl26 · 05/04/2022 17:41

Eeek so exciting so many babies will be here very soon!! Has anyone here had an induction with the pessaries before??

Hayesdays · 05/04/2022 19:29

How exciting @TooMuchCheesecake your baby could be the first of the thread! Good luck! I had a C-section with my first and it was a great experience ☺️

Hope everyone is feeling good!

rosiej95 · 05/04/2022 23:31

shannonl26 · 14/04/2022 13:36

@Hayesdays it’s been a rough ride but I’d do it all over again for baby girl! Hope your delivery went smooth for you & your all ok 🥰

@rosiej95 baby will be here before you know it! Hope your feeling well 🥰

Epli · 14/04/2022 13:49

I am 39+4 today. I woke up early morning with period like cramps lasting ~30-45s each 3-6 minutes. The whole thing lasted for around 40-50 minutes and was a bit painful. Since then nothing. Are those real contractions or BH (but BH are not supposed to be painful, are they?). Anyone experiencing something similar?

Hayesdays · 14/04/2022 15:27

Hi @Epli yes I had something similar the night before I went into labour, it Felt a bit like period pain/Diarrhea/trapped wind and was pretty painful. Fizzled away After thinking ‘I wonder if this is it’!

The next night the same thing happened but I’d eaten a hot curry, so definitely was the curry right?! After 2 hours of tossing and turning and being in more and more pain I thought I’d best time them and yup turns out it was labour! Baby born 10 hours later

Good luck to you, sounds like your body might be gearing up!

Epli · 14/04/2022 16:20

@Hayesdays thanks! I better get back on bouncing ball then ;) (and send my boyfriend to Tesco to buy Tikka Masala ingredients ;))

Hoping1 · 14/04/2022 19:47
