Hi all, couldn't see an April 2022 birth thread so thought I would start one.
I'm due mid April but need a dating scan to confirm as I have an irregular cycle.

@Hopefulmama93 this is your first pregnancy since the miscarriage? How are you feeling? I'm feeling anxious anytime I get a cramp sensation, which I know is normal because I remember getting period like pains with my first, but since the miscarriage I'm just worried I will see blood again.

80sPadme · 16/08/2021 18:57
@80sPadme I much prefer a quieter group!

Is anyone thinking of booking an early private scan? I can't decide whether to or not
Me and DH I've just booked an early reassurance scan with a company called ABC and I have one there with my daughter last year and it was really good and it was eight weeks. It just made me feel really assured that everything was going well and plus if you get to 8 weeks then the rate of miscarriage dropped quite significantly if they can find a heartbeat so that made me feel so much better

Sorry for the bad punctuation, Siri is currently typing this for me on the loudspeaker in the car

@Nervyy

Hi all, am I ok to join? Currently 6+5, due 6th April 2022, this is my first pregnancy ever and although it wasn't planned, we are both over the moon and wishing and hoping that this little baby sticks 🥰❤️🤞🏻 I have had an early scan last week where they dated baby at 6+1, lovely little heartbeat and it was the most wonderful feeling to see it! Have told our immediate family as we are very close to them and would want / need their support no matter the outcome of this pregnancy. I have another scan booked for Sunday 29th as we are currently on annual leave but need to tell work on our return, so I want to be sure everything is progressing well and our little baby is growing and healthy ❤️🤞🏻 I also can't wait until 12 weeks to see them again! Haha. I'm on a couple of other threads but they have quietened a bit now as people have moved to WhatsApp / Facebook but I'm not sure I am ready for that yet. Hope everyone on here is okay xx
It's absolutely okay for you to join! This group is for anyone and everyone that is in the same position as asked you in April I just hope we can be a great network of support for each other

Yes it is. I'm very anxious and worrying about everything too.
I was on the phone to the midwife this morning as I had a couple of very tiny bleeds over the weekend (most likely implantation) but still scary.
Just hoping and praying everything's ok

@Hopefulmama93 I'm thinking around 9 weeks is a good time too.

@80sPadme yeah, we had an early scan with our daughter but I can't remember what gestation it was! How old is your daughter? Mine is 10months so will be 18months when baby arrives 🥰

Nervyy · 16/08/2021 22:06

@80sPadme thank you !☺️
I'm so excited but struggling with waiting for my 2nd private scan as it's 13 days away..
If I could afford it I honestly think I'd get a scan every week 🙈 x

Can I ask are you just googling where to book your early scans privately or are you having them through the NHS? I’ve googled and found a place near me with amazing reviews that do scans from 6 weeks. I have no issue with paying for a scan privately to put my mind at rest. Just wondering what others are doing. Xx

YorkshirePhoenix15 · 17/08/2021 08:29

Also and sorry if it’s TMI but is anyone else suffering from diarrhoea?

wannabeamummysobad · 17/08/2021 09:03

@YorkshirePhoenix15 I'll be booking an early scan privately to have at 7 weeks (I'm currently 4 weeks since start of last period). Don't quote me but I think the nhs will only scan early if you have a high risk pregnancy.

wannabeamummysobad · 17/08/2021 09:05

@YorkshirePhoenix15 no 💩 but on my run this morning I was farting with reckless abandon- I was actually worried I would 💩 by accident 🙈

The NHS won't do an early scan in usual circumstances. It tends to only be if you have a genetic issue or you have a history of miscarriages etc or you're not sure of your dates. I just googled the clinics near me that offered private scans and then I just click the online booking thingamajig

No I'm actually the opposite and haven't pooped in six days

@YorkshirePhoenix15 yes! And super windy as well, kept triple checking I was muted on zoom calls.

This was one of my first symptoms but I didn't know at the time, the day before my bfp I went for afternoon tea with friends, came home and had to run to the toilet 🙈 had that for the first 5 days, now I've gone the other way
YorkshirePhoenix15 · 17/08/2021 13:59

@wannabeamummysobad I’ve booked my early scan for Saturday. I suffer with anxiety anyway so this is tipping me over the edge. I’m so excited but nervous at the same time! I’m going on the date of my last period as that is what they asked for so that makes me 6+1 today.
My upset tummy seems to have calmed down now too as well. Xx

bee756 · 17/08/2021 14:27

Hi everyone,

Congratulations to you all! I am also due April 22 and this is my first pregnancy, so very excited but also nervous 😬

I'm not sure of exactly when I'm due yet as AF was 9th of July but I don't think I ovulated until 27th of July. Should be around mid April though!

80sPadme · 18/08/2021 11:09

Welcome to all newbies. This is starting to become a lovely little group, I wish everyone the best in their pregnancies and let's hope it continues to be the group it was set out to be.
If anyone has any questions feel free to ask but remember that no one here really is qualified and can really give advice we can only really speak from experience and what advice we've been given but remember it's personal to the individual, if you have any reduced movements in the future or feel that anything is wrong get in touch the midwife

Hey I'm due 21st April depending on my dating scan it may change though xx

stkf · 18/08/2021 12:09

Hiya, also found out last week that I am pregnant, bit of a whirlwind. Had absolutely no idea, wasn't trying and had been on the pill as well as having PCOS! Fell off a horse last week and went to hospital, and well, turns out there's a baby in there....

Had an early scan yesterday due to the fall and have general cramps/bleeding, but saw a little heart beat and measuring at 6 weeks today!

Still having brown spotting which is absolutely terrifying me, but everyone on every platform seems to be saying it's normal, so trying to not be such a stress head. Anyone else?!!

Nervyy · 18/08/2021 12:37

Morning all, hope everyone is okay???
I'm just wondering if anyone else is struggling with their mood? 😔
I'm really really happy about this pregnancy so I know that this mood change is totally separate to my feelings about the baby, but I do think hormones may be playing a part.
I'm waking up feeling really low, tired and demotivated with everything 😔 I have so much I need to do and I genuinely struggle to even drag myself out of bed, never mind move off the sofa once I get on it. I just look forward to bedtime because it's the only time I don't feel so low, as I get to go to sleep. I feel deflated and fed up and I just want to be productive but I feel stuck.
Anyone else experiencing anything similar??
Thanks in advance to anyone comfortable sharing xx

Sorry to hear you're feeling like this. I do have moments like this but it's more like anxiety, wondering if everything's ok and tiredness. I'm a bit of an emotional rollercoaster too, I cried at a comedy last night 🙈

But it's definitely not as full on as yours. How long until your first midwife appointment? It's definitely worth mentioning how you're feeling

I have bipolar and I feel the same quite a lot of the time, get in touch with your local maternity scheme for people with mental health problems or low mood. They can offer you really good support network peer support with other women etc
