@jade0881 a home birth crossed my mind but I think I would feel much safer and prepared at hospital esp as I was induced last time early!

I also read a thread the other day about how second births are so much faster! Did any of you lovely ladies with 2+ have a second faster labour?
Oh ok.. with my first I was in labour for 4hr 15 min and my second was 6 hr 8 min... I mean with my second I think I dialysed faster then the first. I suppose every women is different and has different experiences.

Hey ladies! So I’ve been having pains in my left ovary when I go to the loo. I’ve had cysts in them since I was young so thought I’d mention the pain to my doctor…. Few hours later and I’ve now got a scan booked for the morning.

I’ll be glad to check on him because my anxiety has been through the roof and having panic attacks. Today was actually the first day anxiety was good and now this!!

Never rains but it pours!😂

jade0881 · 29/07/2021 22:45

@LouLou0505 oh no sorry to hear that hun. I've been having slight pains there too but I don't suffer with cyst. I brought it down to round ligament pain. Let us know how you get on tomorrow. Hopefully he will be fine. Xx

LouLou0505 · 29/07/2021 22:50

@jade0881 - thanks babe! I hadn’t actually been worried till now!

I can just see another night of no sleep 😔 xx

burtle4 · 29/07/2021 23:01

Good luck for the scan tomorrow @LouLou0505, let us know how it goes. I'm sure everything is absolutely fine with baby but they obviously just want to check where the pain is coming from. Just try and look at it as another chance to see him!

I wouldn't be allowed a home birth if I wanted one because I seem to have issues with delivering my placenta and lost a lot of blood last time. I don't mind though as I feel safer being in hospital.

JW2021 · 30/07/2021 03:01

Anyone know if an accurate fetal Doppler I can buy in the USA?

tuxedocat · 30/07/2021 07:19

@JW2021 sorry I’m not sure on the regulations in the US!
You can buy many in the UK but they’re not really recommended as they’re not hospital grade/there’s no training. It can provide a big false sense of security as you can often find your own heartbeat/placenta and a beating heart doesn’t mean baby is ok. There are a few threads at the moment discussing them worth reading to see if it’s the right choice or not.

Each to their own as I know a few ladies that have them there but it’s not something I would get ☺️

burtle4 · 30/07/2021 07:41

On the flip side though I've found having one a huge comfort in those early days when you can't feel movements. I won't use it once I can feel baby every day as I know that looking for kicks is more important, but at the moment it's been a massive reassurance for me having one. I can just check in for a minute or so and rest my mind by listening to the heartbeat. I don't know about buying one in the US but I got my Angel Sounds one fairly cheap on Amazon and it works brilliantly, I managed to find the heartbeat from around 9 weeks with it!

lovebeingmum9 · 30/07/2021 08:45

Good luck with your scan today @LouLou0505 hopefully its nothing and eases your anxiety ❤
I've been feeling the odd twinge down below! I googled and alot of lighening crouch comes up lol very odd as don't remember feeling anything like this with my others this early?
@JW2021 I've heard angel sounds is good but I've never owned one as I would be someone to get it our every 5 seconds and panic if I couldn't find heartbeat etc having said that I'm still very tempted to get one this time lol

LAR96 · 30/07/2021 09:08

I will be going to hospital just as its my first and I have no idea what I am doing! LOL

Anyone have their first babies before there due date? or was they late? x

WeeTeej88 · 30/07/2021 09:29

@LAR96
I had my first son 5 days early and second son 3 days early. I’m hoping i go a few days early this time too.

LAR96 · 30/07/2021 11:42

ahh! My friend has gone into labour today she was due 27.08 so 4 weeks early! Im so small i cant imagine waddling around at 40 weeks, dont think i would be able to stand up! LOL

when will they induce if you have gone past your due date? how long do they tend to leave it x

LouLou0505 · 30/07/2021 11:52

You ladies are just the best!

So they decided they didn’t want to scan as I have my scan next Wednesday. My water sample came back fine, they done an external and internal assessment and it’s all good, cervix is closed so that’s great to know!

We did listen to his heartbeat which was so nice to hear again 😍

They THINK I may have some scarring or damage from the egg donation I did a few years ago. I was very ill after and took me a long time to get back to normal so I might have some damage and when my bladder is full it’s pushing on my ovaries or he might be playing football in there 😂😂

I certainly feel better now so I’m stuffing my face with lots of pasta and got a big packet of Maryland’s to have after 😂😂 xx

jade0881 · 30/07/2021 11:53

@LAR96 aww congratulations to your friend.
I think they tend to induce you around 40+weeks. Don't quote me on this as I have no ever had to be induced.

But I've heard 2 weeks before due date and 2 weeks after doe date

LAR96 · 30/07/2021 11:55

@jade0881ahh thanks jade! I just want December to hurry! As I am sure everyone else does

LAR96 · 30/07/2021 11:59

@LouLou0505 glad everything is all okay!!

indulge on whatever you want haha! I feel like I could eat anything in site the past couple of weeks! cant stop haha

tuxedocat · 30/07/2021 12:19

@LAR96 my son was born 38+6 I was induced but already dilated and contracting but didn’t realise!

Induction depends on each trust but usually they will induce at 42 weeks as there becomes a risk where the placenta can stop working. It’s hard to tell as obviously due dates are a rough calculation but also the risk of the placenta failing is too.

jade0881 · 30/07/2021 12:49

@LAR96 yes I no hun. So do I. I'll be 19 weeks tomorrow.

OP posts:
jade0881 · 30/07/2021 12:51

lovebeingmum9 · 30/07/2021 13:01

I was induced at 40wk + 12days with 2nd and he was born the day after (13 days overdue) used to be 12days od but I think it can be upto 14 days od now?
@LouLou0505 glad all is well now enjoy your cookies yum! I will be honest for almost 2 months now every lunch time I've eaten a pepper chicken salad sandwich (from sainsburys) followed by 3 packs of salt and vinegar crisps! lol Its all I really enjoy without feeling sickness except my tongue is absolutely stinging lol 😆

burtle4 · 30/07/2021 13:10

@LouLou0505 so glad that your mind has been put at rest and you're feeling better, the scan next week will be here soon enough 😊

My two were both 2 days early so I'm really hoping this one decides to be early too, the further away from Christmas the better!!
