Good morning all 😊 hope your all well!
Did anyone see the news last night.....pregnant woman are now being erged to have the vaccine because 9 out of 10 woman (in UK i believe) havnt had it.....what are all your thought or feelings about it now? I was originally thinking of having the vaccine after the 20wk scan but I think knowing so many woman aren't having it has made me sit on the fence more now? x

LouLou0505 · 31/07/2021 09:32

I was going to ask the same thing! I’ve been thinking I’m going to get it but haven’t spoken to anyone medically yet!x

LAR96 · 31/07/2021 09:34

I had my first vaccine at 16 weeks and have been fine, waiting for my 2nd dose :) x

Curlymam88 · 31/07/2021 10:41

I still won't be having it Smile

lovebeingmum9 · 31/07/2021 11:10

I asked my midwife about it weeks ago and there wasn't much info... she just said its a personal choice as there's not much data to go by. So I thought about having it after 12wks....then thought of waiting until after 20wks (I'm 20wks now and got scan on Monday) the news shocked me a bit as I didn't realise 9 out of 10 pregnant woman havnt had it.....I suppose its each to their own and just an individual choice 😊

burtle4 · 31/07/2021 11:50

I've got my scan on Monday as well and going to book it in after that if everything's ok. I think it's very much a personal choice but they were saying on the radio that 99% of pregnant women in hospital with covid are unvaccinated so I feel like I should do it more so to protect my self and baby because apparently it can be quite serious if you get it in the third trimester x

burtle4 · 31/07/2021 11:52

On another note has anyone had any experience with breast lumps during pregnancy? I've never had one but found one a couple of days ago and went to the doctor about it. He's now referred me for a scan at the hospital to be on the safe side. I'm trying not to freak out and tell myself it's hormonal and pregnancy related but it's hard not to think the worst!

2020mission · 31/07/2021 11:59

@lovebeingmum9 I've still not had the vaccine, I'm just over 18 weeks. I'm working from home and staying safe. I do feel a bit guilty for not having had it and slightly worried I'm doing the wrong thing but I'm still not keen to take it without long term data on the baby's development after birth. I've noticed a change in the midwives as before they were more like "it's your choice" but the RCOG and midwives now seem more pushy now towards getting it.

lovebeingmum9 · 31/07/2021 14:03

@2020mission yeah I've noticed the change aswell.....I've had several messages prompting me to book my vaccine even though your asked to make your own choice. I've heard alot of places/hospitality etc could refuse to serve if someone hasn't had both vaccines.....think I read one on here a Costa will only allow takeaway for those not double vaccinated? Its a hard decision either way x

jade0881 · 31/07/2021 14:03

@lovebeingmum9 no I still be having it. I don't believe the vaccine is curing anything. I'm against the vaccine 100%

Yes I've had this a couple times and it was just blocked milk ducts. It's still a good thing to Check it out tho.

@lovebeingmum9 I can send my husband in if they won't serve me he's double vaccinated 😅 but yeah those places that won't allow access to non vaccinated, that's fine with me. I can miss out on them until after baby is here. It won't be anything essential.

Curlymam88 · 31/07/2021 16:09

I think its wrong they're putting so much pressure on people to have the jab by saying if you don't have the jab you can't do this and that. If you have the jab you don't have to do this and that. Everyone knows the jab is about if people want it they'll have it and if they don't then leave them be. I'm think it's wrong. Rant over!! 🤣
I went to look at prams earlier and I'm so taken back by how many different makes are about!! Sure it weren't this many 9 years ago?? I dont know how to choose.

jade0881 · 31/07/2021 17:05

@Curlymam88 yea I agree with you. 100%. It's just like the flu jab. Not everyone needs to take it. So why should we have to take the Covid vaccine. I mean everyone has there own opinion on this. I just won't take it and be a guinea pig. I've heard lots of things go wrong with vaccine and people get these symptoms. When my mother in law was in hospital she saw loads of things that I won't repeat.

Anyway, yes there are loads of prams now. I've got 2 in mind as I like them and don't want to be spending hundreds of pounds on it.

Thanks @jade0881 that's reassuring to know x

I'm gutted that I'm having to miss out on the chance to see my parents in France because I'm not vaccinated. Our tickets are booked for 13th August to fly out there as I haven't seen them in nearly 2 years and my dad is really ill but I'm not allowed to go. It's so wrong 😞

Curlymam88 · 31/07/2021 17:26

@jade0881 I'm curious to know what your MIL saw now 🙈
My partners seen the ickle bubba pram which looks a decent price and don't look too bulky. I need to do some research and read some reviews.

jade0881 · 31/07/2021 17:35

@burtle4 I am sorry to hear that. So are you really not allowed to go because you are not vaccinated? I thought all of this was suppose to come into force in September? I am so confused. They should allow you to go.

OP posts:
jade0881 · 31/07/2021 17:36

@Curlymam88 oh I would but I will probs frighten people who have had or are going to get vaccinated.
Aww that's sweet. I'll post one of the buggies I want to get

@jade0881 because England is on France's amber list there's a form you have to sign giving your reason for entering France if you're not vaccinated. But you're literally only allowed in if you can tick a box and basically unless you're french, you live in france or you're going to work/study there there's no box you can tick! It's that black and white, there's no exceptions 😪

Curlymam88 · 31/07/2021 17:51

@burtle4 that's pretty crap. So sorry you can't see your dad. You'd think they'd make family as an exception.
@jade0881 that looks like a smart pram. Quite similar to the one ickle bubba one.

jade0881 · 31/07/2021 18:10

@burtle4 that's is shit. I can't believe that. I'm really sorry hun, must be hard for you. X big hugs x

OP posts:
jade0881 · 31/07/2021 18:10

@Curlymam88 yes I like this one. But then there is a grey one I'm looking at too

lovebeingmum9 · 31/07/2021 19:20

@burtle4 our scans are both on Monday hope all goes well 😁 I was also thinking blocked or swollen gland so hopefully thats all it is x
Sorry you won't be able to see you parents thats rubbish! its all very difficult and who knows when it will all end....if ever!
I got a KinderKraft pram when our 18month was born which we will use for new baby...its same as in pic (except they have changed the pram bag now) but it was such good value I think it was around £200 for whole set and looks and feels much more expensive...gets lots of compliments! There's such a huge range of prams though 🙂
