@jadey1991 I've had a strange feeling about end of November too. When I went gor my growth scan they said for me to have another in 2 weeks and then they'll probably book me in for my c section which I suppose could be end of Nov beginning of dec. Sorry to hear you're feeling quite anxious, I havent sorted childcare for when I'm in hospital either yet as not got the date yet, but its constantly on my mind.
@tuxedocat sorry to hear you're worried too, some people are fine being induced. I think there's a few different ways you can be induced too. Has your midwife explained any of them?

jadey1991 · 02/11/2021 09:49

@Curlymam88 yes we are thinking end of Nov. I'll find out about more today as I have my growth scan. Yes not knowing when our will happen is a constant worry. I suppose things will sort itself out m. Hope you are feeling fine xx

Curlymam88 · 02/11/2021 09:58

@jadey1991 yes everything will sort itself out try not to worry. I know its hard when it's basically oit of your control. Oh yes your scan today, wonder how big little boy has got! Let us know 😊 im feeling ok thank you, im going to do some wrapping today for my daughters birthday. Its not till 20th December but I cant sit on the floor for long to wrap so it'll take me a while 🤣

jadey1991 · 02/11/2021 10:03

@Curlymam88 I will defo let you so know how it goes. I'm very excited to see him Again. See goes much he weighs now lol.
Aww bless yes your like me can't sit on good for too long. It's a struggle to get back up again lol x

cutejeans · 02/11/2021 10:09

Hi everyone, I'm normally just a silent watcher of the thread but thought I'd finally get involved🙈🤣 I'm due Xmas Eve with a little boy!

@DecadeBCU I also went for a growth scan last week to be told he's on the 90th percentile at about 4.5 pounds!! They've booked me in for another growth scan at 37 weeks to see if I'll need to be induced! You'll probably go through your birth plan at your next midwife appointment, I've got one next Tuesday and she said we'll be planning mine! X

Wish I could look into the future and know when he's coming so I can plan more for Xmas but I suppose he'll come when he's ready🥰

jadey1991 · 02/11/2021 10:24

@cutejeans hello welcome to the thread. Congrats on your pregnancy.
I think everyone is defo feeling anxious about the knowing when. X

burtle4 · 02/11/2021 10:41

@cutejeans welcome! My boy was measuring off the scale at my growth scan, just under 5lbs at 31 weeks!! Also have another growth scan booked in at 36 weeks where we'll discuss my options but have a feeling he'll be induced early.
@jadey1991 good luck with your scan later, let us know how it goes x

cutejeans · 02/11/2021 10:45

@burtle4 oh wow bless you!! How are you feeling about possible induction? On one hand I'd rather him come earlier so he's here before Christmas and of course so he doesn't get too big, but on the other I've heard horror stories about inductions so I'm a little nervous!! Trying not to think about it or worry too much before I need to x

jadey1991 · 02/11/2021 11:04

@burtle4 thanks hun I will x

burtle4 · 02/11/2021 11:11

@cutejeans I feel exactly the same, would much prefer him to come naturally as haven't heard great things about being induced, but because of the time of year I actually won't mind because the further his birthday is away from Christmas the better! My main worry was that he would arrive Christmas day as my due date is 18th, but they've said they definitely won't let me go over so at least I know we're safe from that!x

DecadeBCU · 02/11/2021 11:39

@JW2021 I haven’t seen specific limbs yet but I can definitely feel them and now I know from the scan what position he is in it’s easier to tell. I get moments of feeling a small area be really hard and I’m presuming that will be a foot or elbow. Last week I think. I could feel his bum pushing out. It’s very visible to my partner, he loves being able to feel him moving around now.

So 50th centile means that 50% of babies the same age are on that line, and then for you, at 62nd centile means 62% of babies the same age are smaller than yours and for me 90% of babies are smaller than mine if that makes sense.

@jadey1991 he’s been consistently on the 90th centile I don’t have any more growth scans so I think they will just leave to me go into labour naturally but I am concerned by how big he is and him getting stuck. I will discuss it with my midwife when I see her. End of November wouldn’t be too bad, almost full term at that point :) I’m starting to get what feels like tightenings sometimes which I think are braxton hicks but this is my 1st baby so I’m pretty clueless of what to expect!

jadey1991 · 02/11/2021 11:46

@DecadeBCU aww bless you. How much does baby weigh when u lay had a scan? X

Theawkwardblonde · 02/11/2021 21:49

This may sound like a daft question, but how do they work out weight of little one? I've just had bump measured at 29 ish weeks-was measuring average (whatever that indicates). Got an appointment this week. Do they send you for scans if it's measuring big or small?
I'm a FTM so all of this us still very new to me! I'm 32 this weeks and have a midwife appointment this week too.

jadey1991 · 02/11/2021 23:06

@Theawkwardblonde hey, I don't think that a daft question. Did they say they are sending you for a growth scan? Because they would send you if you are carrying big or small. I've been having growth scans myself because my eldest daughter who is now 13 apparently was a small baby.

JW2021 · 02/11/2021 23:07

Ha ha! Your question is not daft! I think it’s all just a guess & they compare your measurement to a text book. My grow scan is on Thurs - watch this space!

jadey1991 · 02/11/2021 23:07

Ladies I had my growth scan today. Baby is doing great. He is weighing 4lb8oz now. My placenta is low and can cause me problems if it doesn't move. I have my last growth scan on 30th November. That would be the deciding week for me as to whether or not I have a c-section booked in(depending on placenta)

Curlymam88 · 03/11/2021 08:47

@Theawkwardblonde im.not sure on growth measurements by bump as I have only ever had growth scans sorry.
@jadey1991 im glad baby is growing well, I guess same as me with the c section, at least you'll have a date and even a time when baby will arrive. I found my last c section quite calm and straight forward.

Theawkwardblonde · 03/11/2021 08:52

@jadey1991 @JW2021 no mention of baby being big or small, just said average on my last visit. Was worried I was missing out on scans! Both husband and I were 8 pounds odd and tall so I'm not expecting a smaller baby.

@Curlymam88 same! Just had bump measurements only.

jadey1991 · 03/11/2021 09:14

@Curlymam88 yeah I suppose, only thing is I've never had a c section before. My last pregnancies have been normal delivery x so feeling quite anxious x

jadey1991 · 03/11/2021 09:20

@Theawkwardblonde oh then that's a good thing hun. If they are not worried then you will be fine. Both myself and partner are tall. I was born premature. But my midwife said that coz I'm tall they aren't expecting me to have a small baby but according to the nhs my eldest daughter was born at 6lb1oz so they considered her small. My youngest daughter however was 7lb6oz.
I wouldn't worry yourself lovely. Everything would be fine. X

Curlymam88 · 03/11/2021 09:29

@jadey1991 I understand why you're anxious. I had a c section previously so its all I know. Id probably be anxious if I got told id have to deliver normal.
I thought it was calm and relaxed. They give you epidural, get baby out, check baby over etc while they stitch you up then its into the side room for recovery. Any questions and ill try answer them according to my previous experience for you 😊

jadey1991 · 03/11/2021 10:20

@Curlymam88 aww bless you hun, thank you I appreciate that. Normal delivery is easy. Well in my opinion. I've only ever had gas and air, never epidural. X

DecadeBCU · 03/11/2021 14:01

@jadey1991last scan I had I was nearly 32 weeks and he was estimated to be 4lbs 1oz!

I don’t really feel like my bump has grown at all in the last 3-4 weeks though but they have said I don’t need any more scans at present so will wait and see Smile

Got serious nesting going on the the min, just cannot stop tidying and sorting Blush

cutejeans · 03/11/2021 15:21

@Theawkwardblonde I'm first time mum too so not 100% sure, but with me my bump was measuring big so they booked me in for a growth scan to make sure everything was okay with baby! If your bump measurement was normal they'd have no concerns so no need for the extra scan if that makes sense? I'm not sure how they work out the measurements/ weights, but I'm sure my midwife said it's worked out differently for each individual based on their exact infoConfused x

cutejeans · 03/11/2021 15:23

@jadey1991 aww so sorry that you're feeling anxious, let's hope placenta moves before your next appointment!! At least if you do have C section there's no worrying about planning for when baby will come xx
