Can anyone recommend a good baby carrier? X

jadey1991 · 16/10/2021 15:22

@LouLou0505 I brought one from boots. I'll take a pic and send it to you. I had the same one with my youngest daughter too and there really good x

jadey1991 · 16/10/2021 15:24

It's in boots for £20

How long can they fit in it for? We live in the countryside so we do a lot of walks in the middle of no where so want to get a super comfy one for him. I’ve been told about the Baby Bjorn one but it’s almost £200 😳xx

jadey1991 · 16/10/2021 16:16

@LouLou0505 can hold weight of 3.5kg to 12kg hun. I think it's really good. I had my youngest in there from birth to around 6 months

LouLou0505 · 16/10/2021 16:36

@jadey1991 thanks babe I’ll have a look! I wish I could go abs test lots out 😂 I don’t want to get one that’s uncomfortable for me or him and then feel stuck with it 😂 and then my other half is broad so we need something that’s comfy for him too 😂 god it’s never ending x

jadey1991 · 16/10/2021 17:32

@LouLou0505 no probs hun. I hope you find one soon.

tuxedocat · 16/10/2021 22:13

@LouLou0505 we have the ergo 360 and it’s great. It’s important baby’s hips sit in the M position to help them develop and the ergo baby can last until around 2 I think? I think it can go onto your back too. It’s expensive, but they sell on really well and my son loved ours. My husband too! Have you got a sling library near you? You can often try them out for free by renting them

LouLou0505 · 17/10/2021 08:21

My sister in law mentioned the Ergo one! We sadly don’t have one here I have looked and we don’t even have a baby store close but I might try hers with my baby nephew in and see if I like it 😂 I don’t mind spending money if it’s actually good and it’ll keep for future babies! X

xTinkerbell · 17/10/2021 22:30

We have an ergo for our first as well. In fact we have 2. I use one and my partner uses the other. He’ll be 2 in December and partner still back carries him

tuxedocat · 18/10/2021 21:22

@LouLou0505 def try - it’s super supportive and would last for any subsequent babies if you ever have any or it would sell on super well. We have the newborn insert too which props baby up higher when they’re small and I think they can go in from 7lbs 🥰

burtle4 · 19/10/2021 23:15

Had my first growth scan today at 31+3 and baby is measuring huge!! Off the charts for everything except his head (thank God 😂) and he's an estimated weight of 4lbs 15oz already! The consultant didn't seem too worried and has just booked me in for another growth scan at 36 weeks to keep an eye on it. If he's still measuring big then apparently they'll want to induce me between 39-40 weeks, so looks like baby will definitely be here before Christmas - if I don't pop beforehand 😅 Hope everyone else is getting on ok x

JW2021 · 20/10/2021 00:17

Awwwww your so lucky I don’t get a growth scan in fact my last scan & final was at 20 weeks ☹️I live in the USA with private health care insurance - I’m 34 yrs does it have to do with age?

jadey1991 · 20/10/2021 07:48

@burtle4 aww bless that's so sweet. At least he is doing well. Glad all is ok. Everything over here is fine. Got my 2nd growth scan on 2nd November. Last time baby was 2lbs 11oz so I'm hoping he has put on some decent weight by the time I go back there. I'm 39w 4d today

jadey1991 · 20/10/2021 07:50

@JW2021 aww no not necessarily to do with age. I'm 30 and I'm going through growth scans. This is my 3rd live pregnancy. I think it can depend on she and previous history.

burtle4 · 20/10/2021 08:26

@JW2021 mine is to do with my age since I just turned 40, I didn't have any extra scans with my other two babies. I am having an extra scan in a couple of weeks as well to check my placenta position so feel like I've got loads of opportunities to see baby before he gets here!
@jadey1991 you're 39+4 already?! 😂 I think you're a week behind me so guessing you meant 30+4, how far along were you when you had the growth scan?

jadey1991 · 20/10/2021 08:49

@burtle4 omg this phone is stressing me out. yes lol I am 30w 4d today. My first one was at 28w then my next is at 32w and my last will be at 36w.. they say it's because my eldest daughter was small but when I have seen the sonographer she said that her weight was decent. My eldest weighed 6.1.. I mean I've never had any problems with my middle daughter but I suppose it's a good thing just to make sure baby is growing how he should be. I can't complain to much as I get to see him lol

Curlymam88 · 20/10/2021 10:16

Hi everyone, I have my next growth scan next week due to the diabetes. Im 31 weeks today into single figures now, 9 weeks left but I feel it'll be more like 7. I think I read somewhere this week that the growth charts that the babys growth is plotted on are only specific for you and your weight and age? Is that right? Or have I dreamt it?? I've been having some really weird dreams lately too come to think about it lol.
I'm glad everyone's babies are growing well Smile

jadey1991 · 20/10/2021 11:32

@Curlymam88 aww bless you yes into single digits now lol. I'm the same as u. I think baby will come in about 7-8weeks for me. You are correct in saying the growth charts are only for us. They do go by tour height and weight and age etc.
Glad you are well tho. X

lovebeingmum9 · 20/10/2021 13:21

Hi all I will be 32wks on Friday and having my 2nd growth scan then too....I've been given the extra growth scans because of my 2nd labour, baby was an unexpected 10lb 3oz at birth and also had shoulder dystocia (both shoulders got stuck in my pelvis) resulting in an assisted forcep delivery.... so since then they have given the extra scans to check size but they are not always accurate anyway! Nice to see baby each time though 😊

jadey1991 · 21/10/2021 21:09

Hey ladies, hope all is well. I got my blood test results back today for antibodies. Everything was good except I'm aneamic. I picked up my iron tablets today. They are going to keep an eye on me as my iron level are low: doctors are going to check me again in 4 weeks time.

Half term starts for most of us. Anyone looking forward to it?

Curlymam88 · 21/10/2021 21:29

@jadey1991 ah same as me. Im on the liquid iron though as I found the iron tablets made me constipated. Im glad they've sorted you out with something though.
Yep last day in school tomorrow for my daughter. We are hopefully going to go to a pumpkin patch on weekend and do some pumpkin carving inthe week and decorate the house etc... quite looking forward to it Smile

xTinkerbell · 21/10/2021 21:35

I’m demented.

Consultant appointment today, though saw a registrar. She’s about to let me go then suddenly tells me baby’s stomach is measuring in the 90tj-95th centile and it’s a marker for GD (baby is measuring in the 85th centile based on scan last week). She starts asking lots of questions about family history which there’s none then leaves.

Comes back and says consultant isn’t concerned but now she’s put this in my head and I can’t Relax

Curlymam88 · 21/10/2021 22:00

@xTinkerbell have they mentioned you having the test for GD just incase? Or can you ask for one as you're concerned?

xTinkerbell · 21/10/2021 22:12

@Curlymam88 no the consultant said she didn’t think it was needed. I spoke to my midwife (who happens to be a family friend) and she’s said there’s nothing concerning in my notes and my scan said no abnormalities detected but I just worry
