Hello, im just over 30 weeks now. Im feeling so much better after the iron medicine they've given me. I think I feel the best I've felt all pregnancy. Just wished they'd have listened to me sooner. I have alot more energy. And baby is doing well too thank you. Hope everyone is doing good Cake Smile

jadey1991 · 15/10/2021 12:30

@LouLou0505 aww bless you. You look lovely. As long as baby is well that's all that matters. I'm 30 weeks tomorrow. Can't believe how time has flown by. Glad all is well.

jadey1991 · 15/10/2021 12:32

This is me today. 29w6d xx

jadey1991 · 15/10/2021 12:34

@Curlymam88 aww bless I'm so glad you are feeling so much better.
I'm awaiting for my blood test results for antibodies. I had another fall yesterday. Didn't hurt baby at all just feel to my knees. Doctors aren't gonna do anything as my ankle keeps giving way. Not sure what I'm suppose to do but hey ho. Xx

Curlymam88 · 15/10/2021 13:33

Lovely looking bumps. I love seeing bump photos 😊 here is me today 30+2, feels so heavy. Me too @jadey1991 I'm waiting for those results. I have midwife appointment on Monday so I'm assuming she'll mention them then. Oh no, im glad you're both ok. Have they suggested anything to help? Would an ankle support be any good?

jadey1991 · 15/10/2021 13:49

@Curlymam88 yes same here hun, love seeing the progress. We have to defo make sure we all stay in contact when our babies arrive...
they suggested an ankle support but that hasn't worked.

Curlymam88 · 15/10/2021 14:28

Yes we definitely will have to. We've all been on this journey together, any problems or thoughts I've had ive always shared them on here and have had some good advice 😊

xTinkerbell · 15/10/2021 15:32

Ah I can’t believe I forgot this thread.

Had a scan to check placenta position today and thankfully it’s moved right up out the way.

Baby is measuring around the 85th centile. Probably on track to be a similar weight to what my first was at birth.

lovebeingmum9 · 15/10/2021 19:56

Hi all.....your bumps are all looking beautiful! growing quick now, I'm 31 weeks today, sorting out youngest child and babies bedroom this weekend.....we bought the 3 piece nursery set and the wardrobe comes with 2 rails & shelves (1 at top and 1 at bottom) so we will put our 22month olds clothes at the bottom and babies clothes at the top perfect for them sharing a bedroom when the timings right. Baby will be in our room for a while until then 😊 Hope all is well with you all? I've got mw app and 32wk growth scan next week I'm feeling a bit better so blood pressure isn't as low which is good and I've got a bit more energy!

jadey1991 · 15/10/2021 20:13

@Curlymam88 yes I agree with you hun. We certainly have come along way together.
@xTinkerbell aww hun that's good news. To be fair I can't remember my daughters weight at this stage. It was so long ago lol.

jadey1991 · 15/10/2021 20:15

@lovebeingmum9 aww you look so sweet and baby bump looks so good. Sounds like you have a busy weekend. Wow how time is flying for you. Not long to go for you. Seems like you will be the first to have baby out of us all. Hope all goes well at 32w growth scan for you. Make sure you keep us updated.

lovebeingmum9 · 15/10/2021 21:33

@jadey1991 aw thankyou!
Yeah 9wks to go which seems crazy how quickly its come around! Its always surprising....I've known people who were 2 weeks behind me in previous pregnancy, who ended up giving birth 2wks early and I've gone overdue 13days.... so their baby ended up being 1month older than mine lol Yes thankyou will keep you all posted on my scan,so far baby has measured where he should.....so active now with big kicks and flexing his arms and legs! leeky boobs recently too lol I bought a 'my first Christmas' babygrow and can't wait to hang all his clothes up when wardrobes set up 😊 Hows things with you? x

jadey1991 · 15/10/2021 22:20

@lovebeingmum9 aww bless. I'm actually wondering when my baby will come.. my eldest was 15 days early and my youngest daughter was a day early. I'm getting so excited now.
Yes baby is constantly moving around and giving me those powerful kicks. Oh and also arms/legs all in my ribs and sleeping on nerves that affect my leg... I have t had any leaky boobs yet. To be honest I'm actually worried in case I won't produce milk this time round.
Other then that I've been ok hun, haven't slept much as my legs have been aching xx

burtle4 · 15/10/2021 22:42

Lovely bumps ladies, can't believe I'm 31 weeks tomorrow, baby will be fully cooked in just 6 weeks!!! I also have 32 week growth scan next week and another placenta one at 34 weeks so looking forward to seeing baby again. Feel like I've nearly got everything sorted for his arrival and looking forward to meeting him, although I'm appreciating every moment of the pregnancy as I know it's my last time. The movements have now turned more into squirms and wriggles as he's running out of room but I feel like every so often he does a big stretch because both sides of my belly get pushed out at the same time, very odd feeling!

jadey1991 · 15/10/2021 23:05

@burtle4 aww look at you n bump how lovely. Good luck for scan next week keep us updated. I feel exactly the same as you. Gotta appreciate this pregnancy because I'm not planning on having anymore I feel like lil Man is running out of space too.. I have the same feeling as you.

catlady1234 · 15/10/2021 23:39

Hi everyone!

I was wondering if anyone else has been diagnosed with gestational diabetes?

I'm nearly 31 weeks and I'm struggling to control my blood sugar levels.

This is my first pregnancy and I don't know anything about diabetes.

Iv been trying to eat a very low sugar diet while monitoring my levels, but it's not working. The hospital don't think it can be controlled by diet at this point. I'm taking metformin from today, with a check up next week to see if I need insulin.

If anyone has any tips or advice, I'd be grateful.

Thanks 🙂

SouthwestSis · 16/10/2021 06:53

Aww @catlady1234 I feel for you!
How are you doing in terms of exercise? Can you add an extra swim a couple of times a week or try and increase your step count by 200 or 300 steps a day this week?
Every little helps and keeping active in pregnancy can help you have a better labour too!

jadey1991 · 16/10/2021 09:36

@catlady1234 hey, I don't know much about this as I've never experienced this. Excerise might help, and in what way is your diet not helping?

Curlymam88 · 16/10/2021 11:12

@catlady1234 hi, im diabetic im not sure if its any different from gestational diabetes but with me its all to do with carbs not just sugar intake. Carbs increase blood sugar. Im on insulin and I find it very easy to adjust my insulin depending on my blood sugar and how much carbs I fancy eating. I can eat whatever I like aslong as I adjust my insulin accordingly. So dont be too put off if they say for you to try insulin. I have veen diabetic for 23 years though so its all natural to me. I also have a libre 2 sensor which continually tests my blood sugar without the finger prick. Dont know if this would be an option for you. But I've found it really useful. Smile

catlady1234 · 16/10/2021 11:24

Hi, thanks for the replies.

I have been monitoring my levels 4 times a day (after meals) using a food diary and the hospital have confirmed it's hormones causing peaks.

I can have a plain chicken salad for lunch and my reading an hour after will be double what they expect, so they have said it can't be controlled with just diet. They told me you need to eat carbs in small portions- but it seems my body can't.
I exercise 3 times a week- spinning and aerobics. I also swim in between, that doesn't change my levels, I still get high peaks.

I have a scan today to check the baby, so hopefully he's fine.

If anyone has had gestational diabetes before it would be great to know if metformin worked at all? How you found insulin? Or the impacts it had on your labour/ babies etc x
