@tuxedocat yes exactly we do take things for granted. Aww I'm so glad he is doing well... lol I've already got most of my hospital bag ready lol. I just need to add a couple bits of my own in there.
Tell me about it 30 weeks is soon approaching.. I remember when I started the thread. We all had little sac looking babies. 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

I'm so happy that we have all come so far together.

LouLou0505 · 14/09/2021 12:16

@JW2021 - oh amazing!! I honestly love his name so much it’s so simple!

My family are always using his name which is so crazy I almost forget who they are talking about 😂

Curlymam88 · 14/09/2021 12:36

I'm all set for our little girl, pacjed and bought for...but we still can't decide a name Confused

tuxedocat · 14/09/2021 12:36

@jade0881 ahhhhh this is me 🙉🙉🙉covering my ears not reading at how prepared you are and I’m so not 😂😂 I did say to my husband last night we really gotta start getting in order!

jade0881 · 14/09/2021 12:43

@tuxedocat babes, I still gotta get pushchair with car seat too. I'm suppose to be getting that in October but u never know.
I still got a lot of things to get. I still need to buy more clothes nappies wipes etc..

Can I also ask everyone what brand nappies they are getting?

OP posts:
jade0881 · 14/09/2021 12:43

@Curlymam88 well done to you.. lol.. I'm getting there

OP posts:
tuxedocat · 14/09/2021 12:50

@jade0881 that makes me feel better as we do have that, and the car sets base!

We will get tesco or asda nappies I think for newborn. We used asda last time and they were great but tbh we usually get Tesco as it’s our closest shop. Same with wipes, the water wipes are so expensive so we use those for the first few weeks then move onto Tesco ones.
We need clothes, a new cot mattress, bottles steriliser etc - only things we have are pram, car seat + base, snuzpod and a cot (new mattress needed though)

jade0881 · 14/09/2021 13:00

@tuxedocat see you are organised lol. What's a snuzpod? Lol.
I'm gonna be getting the Lidl ones as I've heard so many good reviews about them. Same as the wipes.
I've still gotta get bottles and steriliser, formula. Not having a cot I have a Moses basket.

Curlymam88 · 14/09/2021 13:46

@jade0881 I've read aldi nappies are supposed to be good but there isn't one near me.
I've just got back from my appointment with my diabetic doctor. I see him every fortnight. Told him about my shortness of breath, dizzy, headaches etc... he did bloods, sent off my urine sample incase I have an infection, or low iron, also it seems my blood pressure is dropping low as pregnancy progresses so gping to wait to see what alltje tests come back as to see whats up with me. He did want to keep me in and on a fluid drip but I said ill wait for the bloods and urine to come back first. Bloods should be back tomorrow anyway. Not prepared for a hospital stay straight away 🙈
Also, the nurses were very reluctant to do my bloods even though I explained midwife said last week to get my iron checked. They said they'd probably just give me iron tablets without testing my blood for low iron? I didnt think they were allowed to do that? 🙈

tuxedocat · 14/09/2021 13:52

@Curlymam88 you can take iron without it being tested but I’d have thought they’d like to test it to check because too much iron can make you feel crap too. I have low blood pressure so that’s interesting!

@jade0881 snuzpod is like a Moses basket / bedside crib that attaches to the bed. We had a sleepyhead (like a pillow) for my son when he was small but I believe they’re not safe for unsupervised sleep anymore

Can’t get over how much things change!

We had aldi nappies too! But we don’t have one really close so it’s not as easy to grab them. I really didn’t like Morrison’s nappies as they gave my son a terrible rash. I guess they change them frequently

jade0881 · 14/09/2021 14:02

@Curlymam88 oh no hun, I hope your bloods come back with no problems and it is just your iron.. yeah I think because there is a shortage on blood tubes they are refusing to take blood samples unless it's necessary.
Oh my goodness please so let us know how it all goes hun.

OP posts:
jade0881 · 14/09/2021 14:04

@tuxedocat oh I see, yeah I think my sister had one of those. Just didn't know the name of them loool.
I noticed that pampers were giving my youngest daughter a rash so I stopped using those and went to Asda brand. So I'll be getting the Lidl brand and possibly the Asda brand lol

Curlymam88 · 14/09/2021 15:24

@tuxedocat I think low iron and low blood pressure have similar symptoms;dizziness etc...so best to have bloods. I know about the tube shortage but when someone's saying they don't feel right and she just tells me to go take a seat I thought it was a bit rude. Glad my diabetic doctor and diabetic midwife pushed for me to have them. I had the blood forms written up by my midwife last week ready... but they're done now at least. I hope it is iron in a way because you can't treat low blood pressure apparentlybut obviously the iron you can. Want to avoid a hospital stay on a drip if possible.
There's a load of similar cribs that attach the the bed. I thought the snuzpod was expensive. We went for the chicco next2me crib which is more or less the same but alot cheaper Smile

tuxedocat · 14/09/2021 15:51

@Curlymam88 glad you had them done, and yes it’s much easier to fix low iron than BP! Glad someone listened to you and hopefully you’ll have the results back ASAP.

I’ve not looked at the snuzpods since we bought ours, when we got ours I think a lot of them were around the same price but this was 4 years ago, I remember the chicco being the same price but I’m shocked at how much it’s dropped. It’s deffo a big difference between the two!

Curlymam88 · 14/09/2021 15:54

Thanks both. Should have them back soon. Will let you know what they say Smile

jade0881 · 14/09/2021 16:47

@Curlymam88 I really do hope you are just low on iron hun.. bless you.

Also ladies how come my OB takes a urine test as & when they need to - is that how it is in the UK?

tuxedocat · 14/09/2021 17:37

@JW2021 they take a urine test to check for urine infections and also to see if there is protein in your wee which is a sign of pre eclampsia

jade0881 · 14/09/2021 17:42

@JW2021 yes they do that over here in the uk too. They check for infections and protein

OP posts:
burtle4 · 14/09/2021 17:46

@Curlymam88 good luck with your blood test results, fingers crossed it's just low iron.
@tuxedocat I'm with you, have got nothing for baby except for whatever we have in the attic - but haven't even been up to look 🙈 feeling so unorganised hearing what everyone else is up to, must start thinking about what we need...! Can't believe how soon they'll be here ❤

burtle4 · 14/09/2021 17:47

Oh, and I'm going to try Lidl nappies to start with as they were brilliant last time!

jade0881 · 14/09/2021 18:32

@burtle4 yes I've heard good reviews about Lidl nappies. Both my sisters used them.
We really don't have long left so we ladies

jadey1991 · 18/09/2021 14:14

Hello ladies how are we all doing x

Curlymam88 · 18/09/2021 14:36

Well...I had my bloods and urine done Tuesday got told midwife or someone will call me about the results. Wednesday and Thursday passes dont hear off anyone. So I try calling the midwife Friday morning no answer twice. She finally phoned me back 4pm she says my iron and ferritin is low, aswell as my blood pressure and there's something showing up in my urine for an infection. She was very very brief and asked if I can see her Monday for iron tablets. Feel if she called me earlier when my bloods actually came in on Wednesday id be feeling a bit better now. I dont think much of my midwife team here. The week before I told her my symptoms and I didnt feel right and she just brushed me off onto my diabetic doctor. Which luckily my diabetic doctor is really good who pushed for me to have the bloods done tuesday. He was same doctor i had with my daughter. Sorry for going on. Just feel pissed off and fed up.of not being able to walk up 5 steps without feeling out of breath. Feel a bit useless.
Also to top it off which has really annoyed me from Tuesday...I popped to see my grandad. He asks how I am..I tell.him about low blood pressure and feeling a bit crap and he turns and says 'well, make this baby your last, because you're not getting any younger are you' 😭 as if I'm old and can't cope with being pregnant. Im 33 btw!! Told him women in their 40s can have babies and ill have however many I want. Just really annoyed me. Dont think old people realise what they're saying sometimes.
...apart from all that im great and excited 🤣
How is everyone else and their babies doing?? 💜💙
