@JW2021 I was the same when I first discovered mumsnet. I had to Google a few to understand a few threads on here. I thought FTM is first time mum. I could be wrong though.

JW2021 · 31/08/2021 17:21

Ha! Ha! - you’re prob right!
Someone else just posted STM = second time mum - so well done!

lovebeingmum9 · 31/08/2021 17:33

@Curlymam88 yes very out of breathe too....I had my whooping cough vaccine today and was told to remember the flu vaccine, also covid vaccine to arrange I can't help but feel a bit like a pin cushion! 😅 I'm a bit overwhelmed with the pure amount I have to do in the next 3 months before baby arrives... but your right we are nearly there now!!!
@JW2021 I'm not much help I'm afraid the ones I do know are very simple lol=laugh out load
c-section= cesarean mw=midwife ftm=first time mum google is a life saver.....God help us all in the teenage years totally new language to learn! 🤣

LouLou0505 · 31/08/2021 17:49

I can’t say I’ve been out of breath 🤔

The one thing I have is that, as I’m growing I’m really starting to struggle with aches. As it’s my first baby I’m surprised how sore I am!

I’m tall but slim, my bump isn’t huge I guess but I really notice the change in my body. By the end of the day I’m waddling because I ache so much!

I normally just have a shower every night but the last week I’ve had to swap for a bath everyday because it’s the only thing that makes me feel comfortable 😂

He goes crazy when I have a bath! Soon as I splash the water over my belly I get lots of lovely kicks! 😍 is this normal?

We’ve painted his room and everything has been delivered so soon as it’s up I’ll post a little pic! I’m so excited 💙

Lielle · 31/08/2021 21:09

Hey guys! Newbie here. Currently 23 weeks. Quick one - I weighed myself for the first time this pregnancy and have put on 9 kg!!! Shocking. I haven't felt like I've put on that much weight but clearly not controlling my diet. Been eating loads of chocolate tbh and didn't have any nausea whatsoever

Tell me I'm not the only one that's piled on the pounds too quickly 😂

Curlymam88 · 31/08/2021 21:32

@lovebeingmum9 dont stress about it all. It will all be done in the end Smile
@LouLou0505 I think my lungs are just really squashed now. This was a photo of my bump this weekend at just under 24 weeks. Feeling pretty big now. I know baby can respond to you rubbing your bump so I'd think water would be the same. Its so lovely feeling them move. It is all so exciting, I've even packed my hospital bag and started to wash and hang the baby clothes in her wardrobe 🤣
@Lielle congratulations on your pregnancy. Ive not bothered to weigh or keep track of my weight. I wpuldnt worry about it, it will all change once baby is here Smile

tuxedocat · 01/09/2021 10:49

Hi everyone!
Hope everyone is doing ok. I’ve been so busy as we have decided to renovate our bedroom so it’s been a complete mess but looking forward to having a lovely calm space especially as we’ll be seeing a lot of our room come the end of the year 😂
I’m 24wks tomorrow which feels huge as it’s viability milestone. The last few weeks seem to have flown by and I’ve still got nothing! I ordered some sweet clothes and we now have a wardrobe unit but waiting to do her room until ours is sorted. I love a DIY project so it will keep me busy! Saying that I’ve been so busy I’ve been sitting down for less than an hour most nights and last week I passed out for 30 seconds when I was putting my son to bed. Luckily my husband managed to hear me shout and catch me but it was not a fun evening!

lovebeingmum9 · 02/09/2021 18:22

Hi all I'm 25wks tomorrow and noticed my breast milk/colostrum has arrived....I look like I've had a boob job they are very heavy and hubby is over the moon 🤣 I've had sickness over the last 2 days wich is crap but hopefully nearing the end of that! can't believe its 1st of September and can feel the autumn change in the weather etc I read that there's only 115 days until Christmas now so once kids are back at school next week I will be getting organised with everything!!!
@Curlymam88 your growing bump looks beautiful 😊
@LouLou0505 its amazing isn't it,i think its because they can hear all the running water,I used to put my ears under the water and listen to all the bubbles coming from my belly!
Hi @Lielle don't worry too much i know woman who have put on 3 or 4 stone in pregnancy and some who loose or put 0 on.....the eccess weight drops off quick enough when baby is born 😊
Hi @tuxedocat sorry to hear you passed out that must have been scary...glad your hubby was there to catch you and help! Hopefully thats not something that will reoccur x bet all your DIY will be lovely once finished!

burtle4 · 02/09/2021 19:04

@tuxedocat the same thing happened to me in my first pregnancy, just randomly passed out and my husband managed to half catch me so I didn't totally squish my belly on the way down! Thankfully it only happened that once and hasn't happened in either of my other pregnancies (so far...) Hope it's the same for you!
I'm also 24 weeks now and feel relieved that if anything were to happen now, they officially view the baby as being viable. It feels like a big deal getting to this stage despite knowing that it still obviously wouldn't be ideal! Just suddenly seems like now that summer is over this last bit until Christmas is going to fly and we've got absolutely nothing sorted! Keep meaning to go into the attic to dig everything out!

Curlymam88 · 02/09/2021 20:24

@tuxedocat sounds like you've been busy, hopefully the fainting was just to do with that. Try take it easy Smile
@lovebeingmum9 I noticed mine last night too although its not alot atm. Im 24+1 today. I've also had sickness back this past week or so, I remember I did with my daughter aswell. I've felt really rubbish today. Tired, sick and dizzy. Horrible taste in my mouth. Even water tastes off. Braxton hicks in the evenings seem to be regular.
@burtle4 I agree with you, I think the last few months will go the fastest when the kids are back in school. Ive been approved for a c section and will most likely be 2 weeks early so I feel like its not long at all for me.

tuxedocat · 02/09/2021 21:20

Thanks ladies!

It does feel all of a sudden summer went over night and it feels so autumnal, I think these next few months are going to fly by.
@burtle4 I’m the same - I need to dig everything out and have a proper sort out. People are talking about Christmas and I’m like WHAT?! I can’t believe I’ll be having a baby then!

burtle4 · 02/09/2021 21:41

I know, I think that's what's making it seem even sooner, everyone keeps talking about Christmas and I'm just like hang on, that's when the baby's coming, hold on a bit!

Hey congratulations and welcome. Hun don't worry, I've piled on the pounds to. I use to be 9stone and now I'm 13 stone. Really like my weight now.

Looking lovely @jade0881

jade0881 · 03/09/2021 18:02

@tuxedocat thanks.

How is everyone feeling today. Today i am unwell. I have come up with a cold all of a sudden. Feel so run down today.x

OP posts:
LouLou0505 · 03/09/2021 18:29

@jade0881 wow look at you!! I’ve also got a stinking cold! Which has been horrible, honestly can’t remember the last time I had a cold.

I had to go to hospital today because I’ve not felt the baby move for 2 days. I had to fight to be seen because they kept saying they weren’t bothered until I’m 28 weeks!

Luckily my auntie is a midwife elsewhere and told me to be forceful. Anyway all good I just think he’s tucked away!xx

jade0881 · 03/09/2021 18:42

@LouLou0505 I honestly don't know how I got the cold. It all started when I went dentist and got my tooth taken out🤦🏽‍♀️.

Aww hun, I'm so glad everything is alright. How can they say they ain't bothered that's so ridiculous.

Xx

OP posts:
LouLou0505 · 03/09/2021 18:52

@jade0881 maybe you picked it up there!! I think I got mine from having a week off work and then just being busy I got myself run down.

Honestly our midwives are nothing to rave about. Apparently the ones you have on the ward when you’re in labour are fab but the community ones not so much 😔xx

tuxedocat · 03/09/2021 19:54

@LouLou0505 glad you got seen and all ok. I felt like this a few days ago but think she got into an awkward spot as I did feel her again. They say 24weeks but once you feel baby move then it should matter!

Sorry you feel run down @jade0881😓 the weather getting colder probably didn’t help either!

I’ve felt awful today. I’ve had heart palpitations and couldn’t catch my breath well, like I felt out of puff all day. I’m hoping a good night sleep sorts me out

Theawkwardblonde · 05/09/2021 20:49

Hope everyone is okay. Finally felt a kick from the outside tonight (I have anterior placenta) so that was reassuring.
Anyone having really bad leg cramp at night? I'm literally sleeping a couple hours a night due to leg cramp and an achey pelvis. Neither are really bad on the pain front, just damn uncomfortable/irritating. Have a pregnancy pillow but nothing is helping with comfort. Any tips appreciated!

jade0881 · 05/09/2021 22:35

@Theawkwardblonde hey, yes I have been suffering leg aches of a night time but only in my left leg. I was up for an hour in middle of night trying to get my leg to stop aching. I was literally pacing up and down my hall way, squating.. it's horrible. I've been getting heartburn to. Anyone else?
@tuxedocat aww hun how u feeling now.

OP posts:
burtle4 · 06/09/2021 07:39

Lots of indigestion and heartburn here, I sometimes have to get up in the middle of the night for a nesquik 😂

tuxedocat · 06/09/2021 10:08

@jade0881 had a very hectic weekend so super tired but didn’t feel too bad. I think it must be the walk to my sons preschool as I’m at work now and my hearts going still 😂I thought second pregnancies would be easier as you know what to expect but this one seems so much harder!
